We had an excellent stay! The room is an apartment style so for myself and my adult kids it was perfect and gave us the space to individually recover from jet-lag. It had a full kitchen AND a washing machine which really helped. It is in a great location away from the city center but bear some excellent restaurants in West Lake. Staff were very helpful and friendly and the breakfast was good. The gym is also great (but smells a little musty)! Decent equipment for a small space and I also swam laps one day in the pool and really enjoyed that. I would stay there again!

Allocated the wrong rooms

Allocated the wrong room on check in and asked to wait 5-6 hours before being given the correct room.

The manger of the hotel was very unapologetic, rude and couldn’t care less what room we were given.

She suggested booking direct if you want to make sure you get the rooms you pay for.

Booked an executive 3 bedroom with balcony which was good once we were allowed into our room.
We also booked a 2 bedroom executive room which was supposed to have a view of west lake but you could not see the lake.

All staff other than the manger who we met were extremely nice and friendly which is a shame as the hotel could be and should be so much better.
Much better places to stay in and around the west lake area of Hà Nội.

Very quiet and further away but I really enjoyed the hotel. Easy to get in and out. Everyone from the front desk, security, door and maid were super friendly and helpful. The Japanese restaurant downstairs with room service was a plus. Oir family enjoyed the pool and the gym with great air conditioner with pool side view was perfect. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to everyone.

My only complaint is the carpet in the bedrooms. If that can get removed (very old) I would give this hotel a 5 star. It’s not fancy but the all around experience was great.

The serviced apartments are bright airy very comfortable fully equiped with top quality items not necessarly the most modern but top of the line quality ageless. The entire staff are well trained friendly and willing to assist even prior to requesting. Everyone is alert causing one to know the guest is welcome. The doorman can be compared only thoes of nobel hotels of London Paris or New York truly a wonderful experience

I booked the executive studio with balcony and lake views. When i arrived the room had no balcony and no lake view. I went to reception and showed them the confirmation email from wotif, to which they replied their executive studios do not have balconies and wotif can write whatever they want about properties. I could change to a balcony room but it would cost extra. I argued back and forth, then went onto somersets direct website which also stated executive rooms have balcony and lake views. At this point they did move us into another room without additional charge.
Breakfast was an additional $15 per person per day, and selection was tiny.
Also, this hotel is in the middle of nowhere - you cant find breakfast or any sort of meal within walking distance, only coffee shops which do not serve food. We had to take a taxi in and out of old quarter each day (you can walk it in about an hour if you are up for it).
Room was clean, no other issues.

Nice room if you don’t mind mold.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite. The smell of mold was very strong. Although some mold is to be expected in a humid country where the A/C is turned off as soon as you leave, this was particularly bad. After a few minutes, we asked to switch rooms. They graciously accommodated us, but the smell in the second room was also bad. After sitting in the room for about 15 minutes, we decided our was more important than our money. We checked out without refund and went to another hotel.

This hotel is suitable for people who stay here of long time. Most of the tourist attractions in Hanoi is located in the old quarter . So for visiting those area, the hotel is a bit far located. But otherwise for the price and quality, they have courtesy transportation to the shopping center and to the old town so the service provided by the hotel is good.

Receptionists were friendly and professional. The door man/bell hop was also friendly and helpful. I extended my stay one more night. I made a mistake by booking a smaller room. The staff was kind enough to let me stay in the larger room so I did not have to change rooms. They go out of their way to make sure customers are happy and have what they need. A great place to stay.

Our stay was great at Somerset West Lake. The hotel staff was amazing, they were nice and friendly and they went the extra mile to help us when we needed help during our stay in Hanoi. Kudos to the hotel staff! Really appreciate their hospitality and assistance! Our room was spacious and it was a really comfortable stay! Would definitely come back to Somerset West Lake for my next trip to Hanoi!

Excellent place to stay when you're in Hanoi for a little longer, It's a hotel with serviced apartments. Clean, excellent service, spacious rooms and quiet once you're part the front door! The area has little special to offer, but you're on west lake which is one of the few parts of Hanoi where there's fresh air - a big plus.

Good value for money hotel. Rooms are studio type rooms with kitchen, bathroom, living-room, and bedroom.
Location is good for travellers in transit as it is 30' away from the airport. Location is not the best for travellers wishing to visit the old quarters of Hanoi as it is quite far away.
Breakfast is not amazing and pricey for the variety of food served. May be better to take breakfast outside.
Service was good with very good reactivity of the staff.
Pleasant stay and calm environment.

Great pool area and playground for kids.

We had booked one queen bed and two singles in a two bedroom apartment. We were given one king and one queen. Not great with a 10 yr old boy and 13 yr old girl, but we made do. Couldn't open doors onto patio, they were locked shut and our daughter got locked in one room as lock broke and maintenance had to come. Don't rely on washer/dryer as it's a front loader and didn't really dry the clothes even after 1 1/2 hours or so.

We stayed at the hotel with another couple, sharing a 2-bedroom apartment. It was ideal, with the kitchenette and lounge area for our fellowship (otherwise we'll be in our respective hotel rooms). Hotel is not that new, but well-kept and clean. Staff were very helpful. It's location is also ideal, close to food places, with a view of the West Lake from our balcony.

We will definitely stay here again.

Very comfortable to travel with children.

First of all, I originally booked in the West Lake Somerset, then realized that the location was a bit far for what we wanted to do. The Hotel graciously allowed us to change booking.
The hotel room has a full kitchen so we were able to keep fruit and water. The breakfast every morning was excellent! My son had pho every morning while my husband and I had eggs or western breakfast. Pancakes were available and so was curry, congee, fruit juice........what didn't they have?
The hallways were not air conditioned which was a bit of a bummer, but the pool area was nice and received a nice breeze. There was a rather prominent stain on the carpet in front of the door, but we did not mention it. I'm sure they would have resolved the problem for us had we mentioned it. We had a two bedroom room and each room had its own air conditioning.
We fully intend to come back and stay at this property again.

Although it is 10min drive from the old quarter, Taxis are available anytime at your doorstep.

First trip to Hanoi

I had trouble with my first booking at Hanoi. Then I found this service apartment type accomodation. I chose this hotel because it's next to west lake. Also this area is pretty nice. Room is quite clean but it's a bit dated. However the staff are very friendly and the service is impressive.

Arriving from Sydney first time from the airport the neighbourhood is shocking. After that you arrive to a nice lobby and check-in. Hotel.com website is confusing as I was booking a one bedroom for 3 adults. The receptionist insisted I have to pay extra for the third person. That's the moment you thinking you made a mistake to book in this hotel. In that instant the hotel manager steps in and very professionally takes over a booking and apologises and takes the burden. Well done! (Sorry to forget his name) That say it all! Recommend this hotel to everyone who is looking for a very comfortable bed, a pool and against other review a good breakfast. Make sure you double check the reservation as mentioned Hotel.com booking is not accurate regarding room/person.

Great apartment away from the hussle and bussle

This was a good apartment in a lovely area. Having the washer/dryer was awesome as we changed clothes 2-3 times a day due to the humidity and this allowed us to pack light. Apartment was spacious and well maintained.
Cab ride into Old Quarter was around $5.00 which we didnt mind as it gave us some downtime away from traffic.
Overall i would definately recommend.

If you are a business traveler, this is the place for you. It is clean, quiet, everything works well, the rooms are large and comfortable, the room's AC was great, and the staff is very helpful. You can get a taxi to anywhere right out front. If you are a leisure traveler, the location requires a taxi to almost all the interesting parts of Hanoi. While the taxis are easy to get and cheap (about $5 US) walking anywhere near the hotel is not easy: the roads are crowded, narrow, and loud.

Pretty good hotel. The thing we liked the most was the washer and dryer in our room. During the summer, clothes get dirty quickly and the ability to do laundry was appreciated. We did not use the small kitchen but did use the frige a lot.

Somerset Westlake are serviced apartments right on the lake - most rooms give you a view of lake. very good pool and gym.

for the price you pay much better value than other hotels (I moved from Intercontinental to here) Actually quieter than intercontinental. Only downside is the breakfast - don't waste your money. spend it buying frut form the woman straight out the front or coffee etc from one of the cafes on the lake.

Séjour très agréable au calme à quelques minutes du centre historique. Pour les familles qui cherchent un cocon pour qq jours sur Hanoï c’est idéal. La cuisine dans l’appart est un vrai plus pour un hôtel de ce genre, la piscine est incroyable (chaude, propre, serviette,…) et la salle de gym donne directement sur elle.
Supermarché juste en face, ATM, restaurants de rue,… tout est là !
Le personnel est formidable, bref ici on se sent comme à la maison !

人20万ドンほどでつけられます。
フォーは毎朝ありました。パンやフルーツ、ヨーグルト、卵料理などベトナムを感じられるものが豊富で朝食を付けてよかったです。

○キッズルーム
あると記載(写真)がありましたが、倉庫になっていてありませんでした。
写真にあるプール横の遊具もありませんでした。
ただ、スタッフが子どもに大変優しくタクシーの乗り降りも手伝ってくれます。子連れで安心して滞在できるホテルでした。

場所は意外と中心街から外れていたかもしれない。

お値段相当のホテル。一階のレストランが夜はあったのに翌日は移転して無くなっていたのにはびっくりでした。夜も閑散としていたので隣を気にせず商談できるからと相手に言われたほどのロケーションなのかもしれない。

크고 화려한 숙소는 아니지만 가족 단위로 가면 좋겠어요
룸이 두개에 거실 부엌이 있어 넓고
냉장고도 크고 세탁기도 세제 있어 사용해서
편했어요
날씨가 넘 더워서 옷을 자주 갈아입어서 마침 잘 이용했어요
작은 수영장이지만 이용객이 많치않고
이른 아침부터 밤까지 이용할 수 있어 조용히 즐기기 좋았어요
다만 시내랑 떨어져 있고 3일중 하루 조식이용했는데 조식이 많이 별로 였어요
베트남 택시나 그랩이용이 편하고 싸서
다니기엔 많이 불편하진 않았지만
야시장 맥주거리 가실 분은 조금 불편할 수도
있겠네요
마트, 편의점이 조금 걸어가야해서
미리 준비하고 숙소 이용하면 좋을 듯 해요

Gefallen hat mir die Größe des Zimmers und der Garten mit dem
schönen Pool sowie die Lage. Die Einrichtung und Ausstattung des Zimmers war nicht besonders, weil schon veraltet und abgenutzt. Dieser etwas abgewohnte Effekt gilt leider für das ganze Hotel.

일정 상 이틀만 머물렀는데 콘도처럼 주방이 완벽하게 갖춰져있어 오래 머무시면 유용할 듯요. 그리고 투베드룸에 화장실도 두 개라 정말 편했어요.
