It is at the train station which is good if you are traveling a lot - it is in a good location but a bit far from the good restaurants and things to see.

Nos asignaron cuarto al final del pasillo del piso en el ala sur donde no hay calefacción (o no funciona). Nos estábamos muriendo de frío hasta que preguntamos, y enseguida nos enviaron dos heaters portátiles. Me pregunto y si no hubiéramos preguntado? El hotel muy bonito y limpio. Habitaciones espaciosas y pegado a la estación María Zambrana perfecto para una ultima noches si sales temprano en tren.

Hotel in a very convenient location with access to bus, metro and main line stations. Rooms adequate for 3/4 day stay. Larger wardrobe space would help. Area for tea/ coffee making very poor..

Room was clean and well appointed. You can use the app to order different pillows, more coffee, etc. Service was excellent. We used the gym as well which is well equipped.
One thing to note is that although the rooms have AC, this is not operating in the winter months. The rooms are kept very warm so our only option was to open a window. The street noise was considerable given we were there on a holiday. We were only there a couple nights so we managed but if you need a cool room to sleep, this might not be the hotel for you depending on the time of year.

Room was clean, staff were nice. Pool was heated so even though it was end of Nov/Dec it was still ok to swim. Rooftop bar would have been nice. Coffee machine in the room but very difficult to use without burning yourself as it has been pushed into a tiny space along with the kettle, sharing 1 plug. Coffee isn't replenished. I did ask at reception however got sent to the bar who said they didnt have any. For the price per night, and the fact it is 4*, i would expect tea and coffee to be replenished daily.
Didnt have breakfast so cant comment on that one.
The minibar had drinks inside but no pricelist. I had to ask at the bar on the last night despite already asking. At this point we were told it was all free and included in the room fee!
The back entrance is attached to the train station, including shops which is very useful.
It is about 20 min walk from the centre.
All in all, i would stay again (for the right price!)

Our family had a pleasant stay! The children were thoroughly entertained by the unique slide connecting the second floor and lobby. The suites were lovely, and the complimentary champagne and candy for the kids was a truly thoughtful welcome.
The convenience was unbeatable: the hotel is directly connected to both the shopping mall and the train station, making travel effortless. Furthermore, the staff was friendly and accommodating, especially with our large group—they managed our luggage with ease.

This hotel offers excellent services and facilities. It would be my first choice for a return stay. It is spotlessly clean. The staff are will do anything to help you. The breakfast and other food options are excellent. It is in a central location with very easy access to trains and taxis. It was my birthday during my stay and they even surprised me with cake and wine put in my room. What more could I ask for.

We had a fantastic stay at the Barcelo Malaga. Despite having an issue with a pipe leaking into our room during our stay, the staff were incredibly helpful and proactive in getting this sorted. They kindly upgraded us to a different room as compensation. Their friendliness, kindness and help was outstanding with a particular mention for Nacho who was just the best. We would definitely stay here next time we are in Malaga and have already recommended it to family and friends. Thank you!

We had a great stay at Barceló Hotel Málaga. The hotel is very clean, check-in was smooth and easy, and the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The terrace pool is a nice bonus for relaxing after exploring the city.

Two things to keep in mind: parking is €22 per day, and while the location is convenient next to the train station, it’s about a 12–15 minute walk to the old town and around 25 minutes to the marina. That said, the walk felt safe and was easy to do even with young kids (ours are 5, and we managed fine without strollers).

Overall, a comfortable, modern hotel with good amenities and great service.

This hotel is awesome! It’s a little further out but it’s so worth it for the rooftop pool and bar, the amazing breakfast and the massive, comfy beds. The staff were all lovely especially the guys on the rooftop pool bar and lovely Ivan on reception.
The hotel is so easy to get to from the airport as it’s connected to Zambrano station- you wouldn’t know it though as it is genuinely really quiet and calm inside.
We’ve never stayed in a Barcelo hotel before now we want to try them all!
Oh and there is an actual massive slide connecting the first floor to the lobby and it is joyous!

Evening flight and train to Málaga María Zambrano

I booked this hotel as an overnight stop before travelling onward by train to Seville. As a solo female traveller arriving on an evening flight into Málaga my priority was safety. This hotel ticked all the boxes. The train from the airport was inexpensive and easy to use. On arrival at Málaga María Zambrano station there is no need to go outside; the hotel is connected to the train station by a well signposted walkway. Even at night the train station felt bustling and safe. There is a supermarket in the train station concourse. The staff at the hotel were very kind. Check-in was fast and I made use of the gym which was open until 11pm. Unfortunately I missed the pool which closed at 9pm. Breakfast was fantastic with plenty of options for me following a high-protein diet. I particularly enjoyed the mackerel and the eggs station. The slide was good fun!

We had to ask for coffee for the machine, some spots weren’t as clean as desirable the shower tray was leaking a bit, amazing terrace pool was a bit small
The parking should have been free
Apart from that the rest was perfect
For what you get charged I think these pointers should have been better

Very convenient to the train station. The room was excellent, we were in a penthouse type suite. But the wifi never worked well the whole of our five day stay. Management was very receptive and apologetic but could never fix the problem.

Lobby was almost always dirty,, but our room was very very clean and nice. Also the hotel is not in a very good neighborhood. Lots of homeless right out front and nearby.

I chose this hotel precisely for its location, close to all forms of public transport as i have reduced mobility and can't walk far.

I would say that it is perhaps best suited to either people travelling for business, or for long weekends, rather than a longer holiday - we were there for a week.
i say this primarily because in the entire room there were 2 very small drawers - between 2 people - see photo. having hung as much as we could, had to live out of the suitcase for the week - bedside drawers for things like medication/chargers etc wouold have been good. (First world problems and all that, but bear in mind when packing!). The rainfall showerhead was a bit hit and miss and the hairdryer was a bit temperamental too.

Some maintenance is needed around the terrace and swimming pool area - the metal ladder rail came out of its housing as i went to get in the pool - another swimmer said had happened to him too and some of the non slip composite decking is not fixed down too well - potential trip hazard. Pool was lovely and warm.

On the plus side, it was good to note that the pool does have some shallow steps at one end and a hoist if needed. All areas of the hotel appear to be accessible which is good and you can also take a slide down from 1st to ground floor!

The staff were friendly and efficient and the breakfasts were really good. Direct access into the train station was a real plus for me.

I would stay again, but would pack light!

The inside slide was well used and a novelty, the hotel was modern and staff were friendly, but everything is done at a slow pace so don't expect quick service

Great hotel, lovely roof top pool and bar. Prices good. Only 4 Euro a large beer. Room was quality. The slide was a little bit of fun and the shopping centre and station next door is a definate plus.

Only negative for me was the pool towel experience. On day 1 we collected them from reception without paying the hold fee of 22 euro. Day 2 i went to reception but then had to collect the towells from the rooftop bar and day 3 the staff member was very, very reluctant to give me any towells without paying the 22 euro despite not doing this for the 2 days prior.

In my opinion, a better experience would be to just take reception out of it and collect and return all towells up at the roof bar.

Other than that it was a fab stay and somewhere we would for sure come back

Fantastic Hotel.
We stayed in the Junior Suite Deluxe which was outstanding. Large Bedroom, with a Lounge Area. Open Plan into Large Bathroom featuring a Large Whirlpool Bath with jets, his and her sinks, his and her showers. The room also had two WCs. Complimentary mini bar restocked every day with beer, coke, fanta, pringles, Toblerone. Very nice touch. Bottle of Cava on ice in the room after checking in, and also another bottle of Cava the night before check out. Very impressed.

Would stay again.

We would like have preferred to stay closer to where we went every day which was La Malagueta Beach, and also 'Centro' where all the shops, bars and restaurants was. The hotel is right next to the train station, so handy for those that are using the trains, but also plenty of taxis on the doorstep.
However the hotel was fantastic, so would recommend.

The hotel and staff are excellent!! My issue was not the hotel but its location. It’s a 20 minute walk to the city center. Also the local Malaga beach , that is man made, is sad looking ! The beach has work cranes in the backdrop and there’s a left over industrial chimney left over from the industrial days in the area. The buildings by the beach are boarded up and / or abandon. It’s not welcoming at all and I definitely wouldn’t be there after dark , but that’s just me. The hotel and staff are amazing !! The rooftop pool area , stunning !!! It’s just the location. Lastly there is a rail station that is right next door and is actually connected to the hotel by a corridor, good or bad depending on your view,

Fantastic Location

It is accessible right from the train station. You can easily walk into the main central part of Málaga for shopping and restaurants and sightseeing.
We really made an excellent choice. Exceptional staff, exceptional and very comfortable room. A small issue is that the AC is turned off at night during the time we were there. (May)

We stayed 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Good location to restaurant’s and shopping mall just around the corner (and train station too). Direct train to airport journey time less than 15 minutes. Breakfast had a good selection of food choices. The highlight for us was the shower, you can choose different settings on the shower head. Would definitely recommend Barcelo.

Fantastic stay.

We had a great stay at Barceló Malaga! We arrived 3 hours early and the staff were very accommodating and let us check in early - which was much appreciated after a very early flight. The hotel amenities are very good and it was very clean. The hotel is directly linked to the train station, which is perfect for travel. There is also a shopping centre next to the train station with a supermarket and a food court - and lots of restaurants close by. The main centre of Malaga is approximately a 20 minute walk along a very easy route.

We had a lovely 3 night stay and would definitely recommend the hotel. The highlight was definitely the rooftop pool - a great place to relax after exploring.

The concierge went above and beyond making sure I would receive a wheelchair accessible taxi to the airport in a pinch, calling multiple companies several times over until a taxi was acquired. Couldn't say enough about their kindness and helpfulness from telling us where to go to providing us luggage storage while we waited for our transportation to the airport – they didn't have to do this: it was several days after our stay, but it was much more convenient for us due to their proximity to the train station. The wheelchair accessible room had all the necessary features and space – though we couldn't get AC to work very well in our room (luckily we came in April and not June/July so it was fine).

Good but not amazing .

Hotel in good location, near to train , taxis and shops. We liked it is an eco hotel so recycled toiletries and suggestions of 4 min shower but they didn’t provide staff at pool bar which meant 30 people were going up and down in lift all day which we thought was odd ! Have to collect towels from reception - more use of lifts . You can’t control air con in your room which we found uncomfortable first couple nights. Cocktails were good in bar and beds comfortable. Overall good .

Ok for short stay

We used this hotel after a longer stay in spain. Directly off the train station. Very corporate hotel. Quick check in. Lifts fast and efficient. Very quiet on corridors and no noise from the street saying it was a very busy area.
Breakfast excellent loads of seating and lots of breakfast choices.
The room had a phone but was unable to contact reception from it as we didnt know number think you had to use app to find out info.
Tea / coffee not topped up and no milk so we went to supermarket in the station.was a small mini bar but no prices so dont know whether it was free or not again no info.
Pool area nice on floor 8 for relaxingbut you had to go downstairs level1to get a drink so we didnt bother.
Great points - best comfy bed ever and quiet.
Air con - worked but wasnt great.very warm in the room.

The hotel was so easy to travel to and from. Station from the airport was 5 minutes away from the hotel and easy to do with luggage. Room was so spacious nicely designed and a bed that was over 10 feet wide!!! Only downside room was too warm at times. We turned the AC controller right down but seemed only to have a slow fan with no cold AC air . I would definitely ask the hotel about this if staying in summer we were visiting in march

The hotel itself is ideal just around the corner from Marie zambrano station where you can travel onwards around Spain but pretty good for Malaga as not too far from the marina and city about 15 mins walk but the area around the station could be cleaner

Nice hotel close to rail and bus terminals

Good location close to rail and bus terminal. Breakfast offered excellent choices. Room air conditioning was not working so it was warm inside the room. We stayed here for five nights but it was only the last few days that house keeping gave us bottle water, a sign of inattentive house keeping.
