The room was exceptionally clean and looked recently painted and updated, especially the bathroom. The only 2 issues we had were as follows: the tub / shower appeared new, but the step in was so high I could barely get in and out with bad hips (I really don't have a problem at home); and the parking spaces for the upper level rooms don't have enough room to swing in or out without backing up halfway in. But we would stay there again.

The breakfast taco was delicious. It was an omelet inside a warm crispy tortillas. So good! Plus fresh fruit was served. This was served on an open air porch/patio with comfy overstuffed chairs with a mountain. All made to order. Hosts were very friendly. Each room had 2 rocking chairs out front. What an enjoyable stay! Highly recommend this inn.

Outstanding place to stay. The mountain view I had while eating breakfast was outstanding. Check in was probably the easiest I've ever had anywhere. Nice, quiet and easy access to the park and river walk and the casino. I plan on staying here next time I come the Cherokee.

The property was not at all what was portrayed on the site. Very run down and limited. No available vending machine. No guest access to ice machine. No inside common area. The furniture and beds broken down and in extreme need of a renovation. It could be a great property if it were upgraded. Don’t spend the extra money for the breakfast that stays the same all weekend and is only served from 8-9 am, no water and one must not be late in that hour if coffee is wanted. No hangers for my clothes no pen or paper, no available menus either. The night young man was pleasant but not a hospitality worker. Good luck with the lady who runs the window for all transactions all day.
The place is locked up all day and there is no extra anything. Carpets furniture and bedding so old and worn. The housekeepers do what they can with the tools they are given. Oldest mop I have seen in decades!
Many other options close, to bad it could be a cozy place.

The check in process was very easy. The room was clean. The bathroom was large and had lots of room to hang clothes. There was lots of room in there for the luggage rack. The made to order breakfast was delicious from 8-9. Coffee was ready at 7. The property was quaint with the mountain vibe. Shops were within walking distance

Rolling Hill Lodge is a far cry from their website information. For a $100 plus a night I expected more. Check in was through a window and not very personable and very little information given. Room ok but you had to look around to fine small notes of paper telling you how the shower works (most screwed up thing I've ever seen and I'm 76 years old), what the wi fi was, had two different ones in our room which caused problems trying to use my computer. Wife took a shower and walked around room barefooted and had to rewash her feet as they were black from the dirty carpet. I in turn walked around in white socks which became black socks. room small 11 ft by 15 ft. breakfast made to order is not that, had breakfast tacos and it was not very good, the fruit with it was good. Did not eat breakfast there again. need a stool in bath to use when dressing, etc. also better lighting as using mirror to shave is very hard to see, and the tube has very high sides, also need a second chair in room so two people can seat down without using the bed. TV did not come in clear, guess that's the cable company. I can not in good faith give this place more than one star. I would tell others to use name brand hotels with free breakfast.

Not bad just disappointing

Disappointing, that's the word that best describes my experience. The room was tiny, stinky, dirty, and def not worth what we paid to stay there. There are signs and notes everywhere with rules like you're staying at a mean mother-in-law's house. The "award winning breakfast" is a taco with egg, mushroom, peppers, and onions. It comes with fruit and half a cinnamon roll. There is no alternative, and if you ask for something different, the lady cooking the food will tell you that their breakfast won an award. Well, I'm allergic to onions and she used the same hand to touch everything, so it doesn't matter if it's "award winning" if I can't eat it. And you can not take a plate back to the room for your spouse. You have to be at the window between 8am and 8:55am in person, or you get nothing. The ice machine is broken, and you can only ask them for ice between 2pm and 10pm. It is in a good lication, but everything around it closes at 5pm. The young guy who works at the front desk is very sweet. You can not actually walk up to the front desk or enter the lobby, you have to do all business through a window. I can't lie, I cried over the amount of money we paid to stay here because I was so disppointed. It's not a terrible place, just not at all what I expected.

Although a basic motel, we were very surprised at the quality of the bed and the breakfast was amazing. The room was spacious and very clean. The bath towels could use an upgrade as well as the TV channel choices. But these were very minor compared to the bed comfort and the very tasty hot breakfast! I recommend staying here if you want to be near everything in Cherokee.

This lodge is located next to the road. The building was older but kept up. The room was huge and had 2 King size beds. Bathroom was big too, could have used bars to get in tub for shower as tub sides were high. Very convient to local business and restaurants. Checkin was easy.

Lovely stay!

Helpful and friendly staff, and clean but small rooms. The lodge offered a plate of very tasty breakfast each morning and cold water bottles if needed (no water fountain on site). The rooms have a minifridge. Complementary wifi worked well enough for light internet browsing. Each room has two rocking chairs out front. Qualla Arts and a few tourist gift shops are walking distance.

The hotel was very peaceful and you could see the elk when it was feeding time. The hotel had rocking chair out side for you to sit and relax in. I could not asked for a better time. We had stayed in other hotel and pay alot more but this one is one of the nicest one there is. You could walk to the store and see the river across the street.

Old school motel but rooms were redone. The rooms were very clean but the air conditioning did not work well. The TV did not work particularly well. The bed was nice. The room was very quiet. We would have preferred a bit better towels. The ice machine was down. The staff was very nice. Location was easy walking to a number of locations, but you can't walk to unto these hills like advertised due to the trail being down and the road being too dangerous. Lastly, the room was a bit pricey for what it was and there was a pretty high resort fee for some reason, but it's not a resort.

The breakfast is not like any other hotel. You order at window and it is made when you order. You also get fresh fruit and a cinnamon roll. Juice and coffee. This hotel is one level. No stairs. The room was clean and well maintained.

The travel Lodge room was very spacious and clean. There was no facial tossues in the room, but fortunately they were not needed during our 1 night stay. The free breskfast is a bit deciving as only" famous" breakfast tortillias were the offering. Over all a great place for an overnight stay.

The Nightmare Lodge

It’s not as advertised. They don’t allow smoking anywhere on property yet non of their rooms are described as nonsmoking. The description I saw today has a small detail about a smoking fee. They show a lobby in the pictures yet they ask you to check in thru a window. Entering the room, you are fragrance bombed by five different air fresheners they have sitting around to mask odor. The owner was overly aggressive when I shared concerns about not being able to smoke outside to the point I decided I didn’t want to stay there anymore. He then became more enraged, screaming I wouldn’t receive a refund and don’t leave him negative review, while pointing in my face. I handed the key to the man working at the window. The man stood shocked, then screamed dad, after watching this play out. Clearly not his first time seeing this happen. I reminded him I’m a customer and definitely couldn’t stay there after the way he acted. I left. I feel their description and pictures show angles of the property to lure you in. When you arrive the place looks like unkept trailer homes connected together with a gravel parking lot. I felt like I had been pranked. It didn’t look safe to me and the owner didn’t create a welcoming environment. Not to mention they sale the room non-refundable and try to use it to keep you there.

Our room smelled like a dog had used the bathroom in it repeatedly, and the carpet was sticky feeling. To top it off whoever cleaned it didn’t even bother to get out the last peoples soap from the bathtub. I really wish you could trust the photos posted online because this was completely different than expected.

Very nice place to stay!

We completely love this place. We checked in earlier than the timeline, but the manager, she kindly let us checked in. The place was cozy & warm. The manager was courteous, very friendly and go out of her way to assist us with questions. Breakfast was delicious! Definitely will recommend this lodge to others.
