I would give Hotel Marcoantonio 4 out of 5 stars, although it was very close to being a 5-star stay. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the property was clean, and the location was in a great area.

This is not a luxury 5-star hotel, but it is a cute, comfortable place with plenty of charm. One thing I really appreciated was that they brought a light breakfast every morning, which was a nice touch and a great way to start the day.

There were only a couple of minor issues during my stay. The TV did not have any channels available, and one evening there was no hot water. When I reported it, I was told that too many guests were showering at the same time.

Despite these inconveniences, I would still recommend Hotel Marcoantonio. If you’re looking for a clean, affordable, and welcoming place to stay while you spend your days exploring the area, it’s a great choice and a comfortable place to recharge for the next day’s adventures.

staff super helpful and nice, they offered complimentary breakfast (croissants, cappuccinos, & juice—which was wonderful). the hotel room was extremely cramped, AC worked a little bit-just enough to keep us cool. hot water was nonexistent in the shower, and the window, when opened, revealed piles of black mold. also, the only thing keeping somebody from getting into the apartment is 1 formal door (not locked, just pull to open), and our apartment door which was a key so no secondary locks. lots of strange sounds at night so it was not easy to sleep

The hotel is located close to the train station. It was in a shared building with other hotels on the 5th floor. If the elevator is not working, you must carry your luggage up 5 flights of stairs. The staff was friendly. Smoking was permitted in common areas so the small was unpleasant. The room and bathroom were not clean. There were bugs and mold in the bathroom. The bathroom window would not close. I would not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel.

AC was perfect since I have full control. Staff were wonderful couldn’t ask for anything more. Light breakfast with good coffee was excellent. Location was very close to the main train station. Lots of choices for food. Elevator is tiny but works ok. The only negative really is the water pressure and hot shower or lack there of. The water pressure was so weak and the hot water for showers falters. Wait until it’s flowing uniformly before starting your shower. You’d hate to be soaped up then hot water falters. Other than that it’s good with again, very good staff. Thanks Marcantonio!! Ciao!!

An excellent location near Roma Termini station, with a unique distribution of small properties within the one building.

The reception is on the 5th floor, our room was on the 1st floor... But it was clean, and the bathroom was spacious. Breakfast is served in your room, a nice and required touch, as there is no common area to congregate in. The oddest aspect was having to return the oversized keychain to Reception whenever leaving the property - with the hotel name and room number prominently displayed, it's not something you would want lost or stolen; but it's an odd system to us.

Accessibility may be an issue, with several stairs upon entering the building, the typically small elevator and narrow hallways outside of the rooms.

Staff was congenial and accommodating and the room was quiet, for a good night's sleep overnighting in Rome!

A small hotel that will be very convenient for going to the airport. Roma Termini is nearby. For us it was good because we spent one night and had to go to the airport the next morning. The only downside is that it is one the 5th floor of an old building where the elevator is very old. And it didn't work when we had to check out. So we had to go downstairs by using the stairs with our luggages and the kid.

The location is excellent. I give it a 5++ stars. It is 5 minutes walk from the Termini station which houses the main train station that takes you to the airport in 30 minutes or to the cruise port train station in 1hr. Termini is also connected to the metro.
The staff is super friendly. I felt very welcomed. The hotel is on the 5th floor of a building. There is an elevator. It is not your typical hotel but it adds to its Roman charm. It reminded me of a converted B&B. The building houses offices and other hotels on different floors. We really liked our continental breakfast (coffee, juice, croissant) which was brought to our room. The room was large with high ceilings and beds were confortable. AC worked very well. Shower was small but functional. Lots of restaurants in the area. The Termini station is a mini mall as well and is heavily guarded by the army and police. I felt very safe in the area. I was very satisfied with my stay at this hotel. I would definitely come back to stay if I have to take a cruise to Civitavecchia or for a longer stay in Rome.

I absolutely loved my stay here in Rome! The staff were very kind and the breakfast in bed every morning was such a sweet touch. While my husband and I were walking from the train station to check in, I fell on the cobble stone and hurt my knee pretty good. The staff noticed during check in and helped clean up my scrapes for me!!! Very sweet people. Regarding the room, the AC was great, and it was very clean. The shower was very small, but so were most of the places we stayed in Italy. Definitely a great stay for the price. Would come again.

We thouroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Marcantonio. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was a typical European hotel room. The AC worked well and we needed it. There are dozens of restaurants and shops in the area. The hotel is a five minute walk to termini so there is easy access to public transportation. The area is lively but our room was very quiet. I would definately stay there again.

This is a small classic Italian hotel. Lobby of actual hotel is on the 5th floor with large marble steps and a very small but efficient lift. The lobby is quite small but check in was easy and rooms, while old, were comfortable and clean. My family loved staying in this neat Italian hotel. Location was great, walking distance to Colisseum.

I gave a 2 stars review because of the following :

- Room wasn't what we reserved initially.
- The sleeping matresses were really not in good shape when we took a look under the blankets (because we read on Google's rating that some people found bed bugs on their rooms in the last 6 months).
- Building overall was not really in a good shape.
- Elevator wasn't working when we arrived.
- The stairs are slippery because the marble is pretty used ; be careful. I sprained my ankle lol.
- The only good point was Fabio at the reception. He has been really helpful and kind to help us with the procedures for asking a refund.
- Otherwise : The hotel has a great location near Roma Termini and other transports.

The staff were amazing and lovely people. The room was quite small and the shower was probably more suited to smaller people than a grown man. The air conditioning was superb and very much needed. We were concerned about the area this hotel is located in due to negative reviews of the Termini area but we found it to be a fairly safe and good area to be in. It was a good location to walk to most of the major sightseeing areas. The hotel is on the Monti side of Termini station. There were restaurants and shops quite close by. Good budget hotel for couples, not so much for families.

We did not have access to our phones so we missed the message from the hotel. When we arrived, the gate was locked. I made a few attempts to contact and someone came out within minutes. Prompt service. Very safe. Beautiful courtyard. Relaxing.

Dank dark room that was extremely loud with the elevator right outside the room that had a high pitched tone that went off any time anyone used the elevator.
We may have seen a bedbug, but we were not completely sure.

Location is very accessible to most of Rome’s points of interest. It is very close to the termini stations and bus stop. The staff were very pleasant, accommodating and gave us good info on our travel questions. The place is clean and large enough to accommodate all 4 of us. Pros: Fairly descent enough hotel. Good location. The bed, Room, and bathroom were clean. The showers were very small but were sufficient to just get clean and get out. The elevator for the entire building only held a maximum of 3 people (2 if you each have a suitcase). Think of it as being a very small moving closet with a gate, built in the early 1900's- that is the size of the elevator. Its not their fault though- its for the whole building and they are only on floor 5. (It can get busy and you will need to wait for it or take the stairs).

Con:There was a man on the floor below who frequently smoked cigarettes in the hall and everyone waiting for the elevator or taking the steps at the hotel had to smell it. Not sure if he was an employee or guest,Its not legal in Rome to smoke inside in public places but no one said anything to him and no smoke alarms? There was also no mini fridge in my room but there was 1 in my daughter's room. I had to use hers. There were also room safes that were locked and not accessible to use in either of our rooms. Also, the doors for the rooms use an actual \"key\" for the lock. We stayed 2 days and were asked to leave our only key at the front desk each time we left to site see or go find food. Since we had no room safe to use, this made me uncomfortable leaving certain items in my room with no access back to them (while the hotel had access to them). Nothing went missing, but maybe updating the lock system to the rooms and safes would help.

Positive was excellent location. Easy walking to just about every attraction in Rome and the main train station. Hotel is on the 5th floor and the elevator was too small for more than 1 person with luggage so it was up and down 5 flights of stairs when we went out. Breakfast was pretty basic and when I requested it a little early the first staff member said \"No Problem\" the guy on the evening shift said \"no Way\". My wife and daughter developed hives and rashes after the stay. I saw where previous reviews said there were bedbugs which is possible except I myself did not have a problem.

Everything was great! My favourite part, however minor, is the free breakfast delivered to your room - I love it. Insanely helpful staff; was hungover one night and forgot to pick out my breakfast, shot them a message on Expedia and they brought us it it to me :)

My only complaint is that the A/C took my entire stay to get it to the temperature I wanted.

The room was very small and very outdated. The curtains were broken and hanging on for dear life and could not be used. The bed felt like a rock leaving us with sore hips and back.
Our room was on the 4th floor, the same floor the hotel Argentina that the receptionist would take his smoke breaks inside which was outside our corridor leaving our room smelling like smoke. Wouldn’t recommend.

The hotel has character and we loved the elevator which fits two people with luggage. It was a great experience.

Very convenient to the Roma Termini train station and Metro. Room service breakfast in the morning was delicious and a surprise treat. Neighborhood restaurants are numerous. Also located just around the corner from Santa Maria Maggiore where Pope Francis is buried. Highly recommend.

Check‑in at the Marcantonio was efficient, friendly and surprisingly smooth considering the building contains several different hotels. The reception for the Marcantonio is located on the 5th floor, while our rooms were on the 4th, and although this layout feels a little unusual at first, the staff were helpful and clear about where everything was. The small lift is practical but only fits two people and a couple of suitcases, so it can be slow at busy times.
Our room was clean, tidy and well presented, but the décor is definitely showing its age and would benefit from a refresh. Everything functioned as expected, but the lack of tea‑ or coffee‑making facilities was a real disappointment, especially after a long day of travelling. Breakfast was also far more limited than advertised: a single croissant, a coffee and a glass of fruit juice, which felt more like a light snack than a “full breakfast”.
The hotel’s strongest point is its location. There are plenty of shops, cafés and restaurants within a short walk, and being only two minutes from Termini station makes it incredibly convenient for buses, trains and the metro. For travellers prioritising easy transport links and a clean place to sleep, it works well, but those expecting more amenities or a substantial breakfast may find it lacking

Three blocks away from Termini, Rome central station, the hotel is on the 5th floor, the elevator is small and slow, it takes only two people or one person with two bags.

Antonio at check in was fantastic, kind and very welcoming. All rooms are on the same floor. Breakfast is brought to your room, you have to scheduled it at the front desk. The room was nice and clean, perfect for one or two nights. Luggage storage has an extra cost. I would recomend the place.

Room was immaculately clean. Staff were super helpful and really lovely. The location was great. My room did not match any of the pictures. It was very small and the bathroom was in a cupboard basically. I chose to find this hilarious and quirky. The hotel is on the fifth floor of a six storey building and there is only one very tiny very old lift that probably had 100 years of dust on the cables etc. Breakfast is served to your room every morning at a time of your choosing consisting of a croissant, orange juice and a hot beverage of your choice. Now I know that it might not sound like a 100% positive review but I wanted to be honest so people know what to expect.
I would definitely stay here again, even in the same room because it is such good value for money and the very central location is incredible. But the main reason that would bring me back is the staff. Everyone was so lovely, welcoming and couldn’t do enough for you. They were superb!

The hotel is on the 5th floor of the building, the lift broke on the first evening of our stay and we subsequently had to take the stairs which wasn't ideal as my wife has a bad knee for the rest of our stay. The toilet seat was broken on arrival and was reported the same day and when we left the toilet seat was still broken.

This hotel is very close to train station. The walls are thin so you do hear people coming and going, at different times of the night. It was very clean, the bathroom was spacious, they provide a light breakfast which was very nice. The beds are firm which I honestly think is just normal for the region. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay. 24 hour desk with lovely, helpful staff. Good info and maps of central Rome provided. Easy to find, not too far from termini rail, metro, bus station. Plenty of places to eat and drink nearby (the recommended restaurant was great...VERY busy. The room was clean, towels and sheets clean and changed every 3 days. Quiet. Could buy tea or coffee any time. Simple breakfast included. Lift to 5th floor was great, if only for 2/3 people. Can pay to store bags after vacating your room. Definitely recommend.

the room was what i needed for a one night stay. quick walk to and from the termini, the water was hot, and the bed was comfy. it was a little loud as guests came in for the evening but during the night (after 12a) it was quiet - this might only be a problem if you go to bed early and are a light sleeper. you have to lift your bags up maybe 6 steps before getting to the lift - this was doable for me. service was good at the front desk. upon checkout, they had a to-go croissant for me since they knew i had an early check out; i did enjoy that :)

i didn’t have an issue with having to return the key, but when i came back from dinner, no one was at the desk for about 10 minutes. i ended up having to reach behind the desk and grab the key for my room. it worked out, but not ideal.
all things considered, i’d stay here again.

The room was OK. Condition needs some work, we stayed 4 nights, only last night had hot water in shower. Shower space is small, even for a small guy. Staff is courtesy to us and nice to offer breakfast at flexible time.
