Good stay despite some issues. It took three people (including a senior manager) to check me in. It was like I was the first person whoever checked in before. I think it had to do with the fact I had a condo that the hotel operates but maybe doesn't manage. Check out was also questionable. We charged a meal to the room and did not get a final invoice at check out. The sauna also didn't work. The best part were the shuttle drivers; they were great.

The room was in decent condition and fine for two nights, but not anymore. The light in the bathroom did not work so this made it very inconvenient to take a shower or use the toilet. I had to use my iPhone light. I tried to change the lightbulb, but no success. The window shades were old and partially functional. With that being said, the bed was good. It was a sleep number, and the kitchen had been upgraded with new appliances and faucets. Not sure when Hyatt took over the cold stream condominiums, but we liked the Millrace condominiums better in the past.

Dated unit, but clean and well equipped.

It is a little deceptive to have a picture of the Grand Hyatt implying you will be staying on property only to learn your accommodations are off property. The place was very dated. Old appliances, decor, fixtures, etc. On the positive side it was very clean and well equipped with plenty of towels and toiletries. They could have had some more laundry detergent and coffee, but otherwise ok.

Bunk bed was not upto standards, I think it was super old .

No Air conditioning and our unit was 94° inside the entire time we stayed there. So no sleep for two nights and had to keep all the doors and windows open whenever we were inside… Which actually didn’t do anything anyway. I actually cannot believe it’s legal to rent this place in such conditions… It was absolutely unbearable. I would only stay here again in the fall or winter, as summer is completely unlivable. 94°!!!!

They didn't have reservation information from Expedia. Had to wait for a while to figure out that I had reserved and paid and showed them my correspondence from Expedia which smoothed everything out otherwise they weren't able to find a single thing showing I had paid. They were nice about trying to get it resolved. Kitchen area on first floor had a very strong sewage smell otherwise good property and area. Door needed to be lifted to lock. Would not have been possible to lock door for anyone without ability to put brute force. Would be very good stay if those issues were addressed.

Property was pleasant, nothing spectacular. was well kept and had some updates. However, the best part of the entire stay was the staff. Amazingly accommodating. Stacy (I think) who was in charge of the residences went out of her way to amend the reservation so we could stay an extra night which was not possible through expedia. All other staff always friendly and accomodating as well.

This was a little uncomfortable. It felt like we were in someone’s homes that was being lived in. Not like an airbnb but more like we walked into a house. Everything was older. Photos everywhere of the current owners. Old sheets and pillows. Super unsettling. I was surprised.

The property is fine and the service was excellent. The only issue is that the bed at the condo was very noisy. It was a metal bed that would grind and make noises at the slightest movement making it very difficult to have a good sleep.

Beautiful property with so many nice amenities. The shuttle service is fantastic, access to the hotel pool, gym, etc is a big bonus in addition to our own condo pool. A few hiccups with a warm fridge and parking for only 1 vehicle, but management was super quick to address. The condo was clean, cozy and very well appointed. We’ll be back!

This property does NOT match the description on Expedia site. We booked 3 bedroom Platinum condo that was described as 1869 sq. ft. and having 2 bedrooms with King beds and one bedroom with twin beds or queen bed. In reality, we were assigned to a much smaller condo that had only one king bed room and two tiny bedrooms with two twin beds each, with both bedrooms sharing a bathroom. The beds were so small, that my 6' tall son could not fit on the bed. We tried to contact the management, but their working hours conveniently end at the same time as check-in begins (4pm). Eventually (next day) we were able to talk to the management and were told that the condos described on Expedia do NOT exist!!! This forced us to get an additional room at an adjacent Grand Hyatt (fortunately we were offered a discount on an additional room by very nice Grand Hyatt personnel, that is managed separately from Residencies). As a result we had to pay thousands of dollars in extra accommodation costs and we had to separate our family into two properties.

Unfortunately, wrong description of condo was not the end of it. One day before our departure our condo account was charged for what turned out to be an extremely expensive gloves that we supposedly bought in the hotel ski shop. We had to argue for hours stating that we did not buy anything. The amount was eventually refunded only after we repeatedly demanded that hotel shows us a signed sales slip and threatened to dispute the charge with the bank

We stayed in the privately owned condos on property. Originally booked a king and 2 twins but unit didn’t have it. Had to move units due to hot water heater not working. New unit had proper bedroom setup but not as nice. Front desk comped our breakfast after we asked for something for our troubles. Busy resort with lots to do but wouldn’t stay here again due to issues. Shuttles they provide are nice to get around Vail for free. Disappointed in lack of follow up from manager team and owner.

Sadly we were extremely disappointed by our experience at this property. Stayed for a winter ski trip with 3 adults (2 experienced Skiers) and 2 kids (first time skiing) and we rented a 2 Bed 'Platinum\" Condo at a premium price.

Unfortunately Expedia has character limits in its reviews so I cannot list every problem we had but the key things to note are:

1) Condo was very dated, probably last remodelled in the late 90's, bed was broken and walls are extremely thin. Not up to Hyatt standards and well overdue an update.

2) Condo's are NOT part of the hotel. If you have room problems you are dealing with a HOA not the hotel itself. This makes a HUGE difference with service. We had big problems.

3) If you have kids with you who are skiing for the first time - just DON'T stay here. The training slopes and ski school are located at Lionshead which means you have to use the hotel shuttle. The shuttle starts at 8am and ski school starts at 9am, it is a VERY tight window with the regularity of the shuttles. Furthermore the shuttle on the way back had NO organization or line on the first day - there were 100 people trying to get on a bus that holds about 30 - and my poor kids nearly got crushed with everyone shoving. It was dangerous and disgraceful organization.

To summarize - if you have kids with you or any first time skiers don't even consider staying here. If you don't have kids - hotel might be an option.

This review is more about the issues we had with our booking. We paid for a king room in our booking. When we arrived our room had a queen bed. We went to the front desk and they said there was nothing they could do. I contacted Expedia and after 45 minutes of getting no where with someone in India I asked to receive a call from someone in authority. I was assured that I would receive a call in 45 minutes to an hour. Still waiting for that call. I sent an email to Expedia and they replied with an email stating that they were on top of it and would resolve my issue. Still waiting. Expedia used to be my go to but not anymore and I will tell everyone I can to steer clear of them. As far as the room at The Grand Hyatt, if you dont mind a small bedroom and bathroom with a queen bed, it was decent. The Hotel itself( we stayed at the condos next to the Hotel that they manage) is awesome and the ammenities and service is top notch.

This is a great place is to stay. We stayed in the residences which is separate from the main hotel - but there is still access to all hotel amenities.
Staff is exceptional and the grounds are spotless. Enjoyed the pool but not the spa. Pool and hot tub are very comfortable and they did a good job during this Covid-19 pandemic.

I made reservations at this facility over three months ago. On August 24th, I received an e-mail stating they were looking forward to my arrival. My reservation was September 7th. I and my party drove around trying to find the facility. I finally called and was told that the name of the facility had been changed over a month ago. That means the name was changed before the e-mail I received, but I was never told this. So, I found it but I cannot understand why I was not told the name had been changed.

Our stay in the Condo at COLDSTREAM was nice. Having covered parking was great. Disappointed that food/beverage was not more affordable at the hotel. We did not eat at the hotel due to cost.

The staff was excellent and very accommodating. The services of the spa and gym were also very nice. The property itself was good, a few outlets didn't work, shower water pressure was pretty low, and the kitchen table area although it sat several people was very difficult to manage with children and a large group. All requests were met within a timely manner for our children's needs as well. Parking was very challenging as we had 2 vehicles and 1 covered spot. Overall would rate it 4.5/5 as it was very enjoyable, local for the ski lift, good price, great service, and some minor upkeep modifications to the house.

Beautiful renovation. Felt brand new!

The two bedroom condo we rented was just completely refurbished with gray granite countertops and granite round table, gorgeous soft close cabinetry and wide plank hardwoods. There were new baths with walk in showers and beautiful tile work, chrome Grohe fixtures, heaters. The 11' ceilings and floor to ceiling windows with stunning views of the aspens and firs was delightful. The wood burning fireplace had a beautiful, contemporary stacked stone surround and hearth. We called the front desk with several requests during our 11 day stay and they went out of their way to take care of our every need. Excellent hotel!

Hotel will be undergoing complete renovation so some of this may not be applicable in 2016/2017. However, my stay was very pleasurable. We arrived early and our room wasn't ready (but we knew check in wasn't until later so we weren't surprised or upset). Concierge and staff were VERY friendly and very warm to us. Great benefit was shuttle that looped between the resort, Lionshead, and Vail Village every 15 min. Always easy to catch and really helped make the trip a lot easier. The pool and hot tub were very cool.

Would absolutely stay here again.

Stayed here three times and had great experiences each time. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The rooms were great and the lift operators were very friendly. I only had one issue at the restaurant which was far from full. They took 90 minutes to serve our main dish and forgot my dinner. There was only three of us. Wouldn't have been such a big deal had someone updated us or apologized. They did take my meal off of the bill, but our waitress never said anything. We also had to get our own napkins and silverware from empty neighboring tables. The quality of the food was fantastic, the service was less than favorable. Might have been a bad night in the kitchen. We've been back a few times since then and didn't have any problems. I would still return and recommend them.

The Best place to stay in Vail!!

This resort was by far one of the best places to stay in Vail! It had it's own ski lift, rental shop, and pro-shop. The employees went above and beyond to assist our needs to help make our stay that much better. We will definitely be staying with them again on our next trip.

really enjoyed this family friendly hotel.

Really enjoyed this hotel. The rooms are larger than a typical hotel room so felt very comfortable for a family of 4. Good healthy kid meal options from the onsite restaurant and loved the cafe for morning coffee

Stay with daughters.

Great for a family. Stayed with two daughters 21 and 23 . Very expensive to ski. £100 a day for the ski pass each and they don't have any chairs with heated seats or bubble protection against the cold.I think vail is run by the mafia . Nightlife incompatible to European ski resorts. Americans all very friendly but no idea how to party. Food was twice what you need . Always order one meal for two. Hotel is in a great position next to lift and ski hire. Staff all very friendly.
