Room was good. Older hotel but dripping with character. Front desk staff was engaging and helpful. Breakfast was very good. rooms are noisy, both from adjacent spaces but also from the street. I could live with it given the coolness of the hotel. Parking was probably the worst part of the experience. Because of the Kringle market, I could not get to the hotel's parking garage or even close enough to drop off my luggage. I went to one of the garages that showed as \"public parking\". When I got to the hotel they gave me a coupon to cover my parking at the Public garage. But, apparently, I wasn't in the correct public garage. The coupon did not say which garage it applied to. So I got socked with some pretty high parking fees. The fees were not as bad as the feeling that I just got played. Definitely left a bad taste for Vail.

First time staying at this hotel, and in Vail village. The hotel itself was really cute and the room was big. Loved the outside deck area which looked over the plaza and views of the mountain. Obviously the hotel is an older building but didn’t think about the lack of air conditioning in middle of summer heat, so made the mistake of requesting the top floor and thus did not sleep well (even with fans) due to the heat. The beds were very comfortable though. Michelle at front desk was very friendly and helpful. Getting to the hotel in a vehicle was a little tough, you drive down a pedestrian street, which is full of kids who don’t pay attention and run in front of your car, so wasn’t a fan of getting to and from hotel. Had to park off-premise because parking was full at hotel. But after checking-in/out, being able to walk everywhere and use public transportation was very easy and less stressful. Overall, it was a nice stay but it wasn’t the most easygoing experience. Really loved Vail though!

It is so fun to stay at a place that feels “old school” in the best ways but with modern amenities. Each room is different. The hotel is quaint and about as close to visiting Austria as you can while sitting in Colorado.

Hotel was great and affordable for the location. Perfect location in the heart of Vail Village. Close to everything we wanted to do. Rooms were a little warm in the summer but with the box fan we were a little more comfortable. Maintenance was quick to fix the one issue we did have. Complimentary breakfast was great to have considering price of everything else nearby!! Would definitely book this hotel again.

I will never book with this hotel again! I had to have emergency surgery and ask for a refund OR to change our dates. I furnished them with a letter from my doctor. They refused both where the other hotels we had booked in Colorado refunded with no hesitation. Very rude staff/manager. Do not recommend.

This was a special place! One of the first hotels in Vail, it oozes charm and history with lots of memorabilia throughout of its dashing owner Pepi, once a world class skier. Just steps from the gondola, we stayed at a riverfront room and enjoyed our continental breakfast each day as well as perfect access to Vail’s shops. We met Pepi’s (deceased 2019) equally impressive and warm wife Sheika, who was co-founder and still hands on day - since its founding in 1964. Bonus: the Austrian hotel restaurant “Pepi’s” had the best veal sausages and gravy I’ve ever tasted, and the food was delicious! Beds and sheets were supremely comfortable and overall we loved feeling like we were in a small alpine hotel in the mountains of Austria. Not super fancy but full of charm and warmth and friendly service. We will definitely be back!

This hotel is such an awesome location. In the middle of Vail Village. The rooms are spacious and the bar/restaurant attached is called Pepi’s and it has live music 4-9pm every night in the winter season and it’s fantastic. They have a storage room outside front door to leave your skis overnight which is really convenient. Great stay.

I really enjoyed my time at Gasthof! The room was super comfy, warm, and clean, with a wonderful view of the river. It was super walkable & great location. The breakfast is simple enough — all good meat, cheese, bread, and fruit — but nothing crazy special. The gym has everything that you need & there's 2 hot tubs indoors as well as a steam room and sauna. All super clean.

Only issue is driving onto the hotel property as it is a road rarely used by vehicles and filled with pedestrians and the guard gate where you can get directions is difficult to see. But there is signage so read it carefully.

We’ve been coming to Vail for fifty years and had never stayed at Pepe’s. We had met him and Sheika at the restaurant and on the slopes. They have done a wonderful job creating this old world style hotel and restaurant. Our room had a small balcony overlooking Gore Creek.

Absolutely perfect for our short overnight stay! We were fortunate to be able to pay for an underground parking spots. Having the car under the hotel made the unloading and loading back up was very simple. Being there on a Wednesday night did not allow us to partake in Pepe’s restaurant. We absolutely love the food there!
