Very clean. Lovely staff. Everything needed. Room bit dated. Its old, yes but building crumbling. Magical grounds but quite run down. Rotten benches. Muddy. Could be prettier.Never saw Estuary up like is on website. Just mud banks.Nature eh but not the idylic setting expected. But we did have a nice time. Restaurant food average pub fayre not well done. Bar shuts 9.30pm booked to eat 8pm not a lot of time. Ditch pop music. Was valentine's night, all couples. Create atmosphere. Pricey for quality. Our room had a glass sliding door to bathroom. I'd rather not see outline of my partner on the loo from the bed! And whats with the bottom and top panels being clear. Watching his feet on loo was weird! Room: Curtains don't go fully across one window. Blind missing on other. Didn't tell us lights work with card, hidden behind curtain. Light switches weird. Says aircon, couldn't work it out. Considering this place is reportedly, owned by an investment group, you'd think they'd put some decent cash in, bring it up to standard. Breakfast average. Tiniest black pud. Quality average. Dry mushroom. Continental included standard stuff. But if want cooked it's extra, pricey and everyone seemed to order cooked. Why not just include it and ditch the Continental.

No one at the reception when I had to check in at 22:30 pm after driving for 5 hours. The help or contact number. It was pitch black dark when I arrived. No lighting or clear signage of where I needed to go! I was absolutely terrified and scared as a woman travelling and walking around myself. No clear instructions on how to connect to the WiFi. Awful signal with the WiFi

This hotel in particular has so much potential due to the location and building, it’s just unfortunately falling short on quite a few things that affect the overall stay.

Firstly, getting to the hotel isn’t best signposted, having been a local to the area for 25 years I had no idea where it was and the drive down in the evening would easily get you lost.

Secondly, the parking isn’t great, we stayed on a wet weekend and all the parking spaces were practically in muddy puddles, meaning as soon as you get out the car, your shoes are filthy.

The walk upto the rooms in the evening also has no lighting, so you’re left to turn your phone torch on to try navigate.

The room we had while was large and lovely, was in some need of touch ups. There was a lot of wall damage, mis-match of furniture, and small bits falling apart. Neither of our bedside spot lights worked. The heating control didn’t work either, we did find the room a little chill by the morning too. The beds were unfortunately pretty terrible, with them dropping in the middle.

The bathroom was clean to the surface but could do with some deep cleaning to descale the shower and sort grout.

We stuck with continental breakfast as we weren’t really breakfast people. While it was okay, i wouldn’t say it was really worth getting up early for. The selection was small and a lot of it wasn’t very fresh.

Overall, Wouldn’t stay again unfortunately.

. The stay was pleasant enough, but it did not meet the standards one would expect of a five-star hotel. Check-in was difficult, as the reception was locked and we had to locate a cleaner, who then found someone to assist us. Upon entering our room, we discovered a cleaner’s half-drunk coffee had been left behind, and in another booked room no toiletries were provided at all.

We were informed in advance that the restaurant would be closed in the evening, however we did not anticipate the complete lack of hotel facilities. There was no lounge or social space with comfortable seating, leaving us confined to our bedrooms for the evening.

Breakfast was acceptable but continental only, with a surcharge for cooked options. While we were aware of this beforehand, it still felt inconsistent with the expectations associated with a five-star property.

Signs are needed when arriving to direct to the reception location. We arrived during darkness, there was not adequate lighting to permit safe walking when looking for the reception area. There are outside steps that have to be engaged when walking to the reception, we arrived after dark and in wet weather, coupled with no lighting made the steps treacherous . Not enough available Parking areas. Wooden furniture is drab, and in need of a coat of varnish or replacement.

(had to cram to fit the character limit, please know it was worse) Please read this before you book. I have never written a review before, so it says a lot that I felt the need to write this.
The staff were very nice and friendly, but that is where the positives end.
Signage on arrival is poor. Once you turn off the main road the only sign points to a “private road”, so I went the other way and ended up at the back of the hotel, which looks extremely shabby and run down.
I booked a top-end room, but it did not match expectations. The room was large and the bathroom was almost the same size, with a waterfall-style shower inside a big bathtub. It looked good but was completely impractical, making it difficult to take a proper shower. Water temperature swung from freezing cold to burning hot, and no proper shower gel was provided.
We also had a strong sewage smell whenever we opened the window. The hotel was fully booked, so there was no option to change rooms. We had to keep the window shut, use the fan and spray deodorant.
The Wi-Fi was awful. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere and neither of us had phone signal, even on different networks. We relied on the Wi-Fi, but it was so slow that the televisions, which use Fire Sticks, were unusable because everything just buffered.
Breakfast was another disappointment. We booked with breakfast included, but were told it was cold breakfast, which meant pastries and toast. As the hotel is isolated, we had to pay extra for hot food?

Arrived at the hotel and checked in. I then asked whether we needed to make a reservation for dinner that night, to be told then restaurant was closed due to staffing issues. As this hotel isn’t close by to any restaurants etc, it was rather inconvenient. I then asked whether there was a bar we could sit in to catch up on emails to which we were told the bar was also closed due to staffing issues. As we were being led to our rooms, we decided it wasn’t going to work as we essentially would be bound to our rooms with no food (unless we ordered a takeaway which we didn’t want to do!)
We told the lady who was taking us to our room that we were going to look for something else and could we have a refund to which she rudely replied that we should have decided that before we paid (we weren’t made aware about the restaurants until after we had paid!!…)
The location isn’t as pretty as the pictures and looks quite run down in person.

It could be a lot better but is worth the price.

I called on the day to check there was a room with a bath available and the lovely receptionist said there was one left and put a note when booking, which I did.
On arrival the receptionist was lovely and we got a room with a bath.
The room was nice but there were a few things off making it great. For example, there were a few cracked floor tiles, scratched paint, the bed was too singles put together, the window was tiny, the room got very hot, and there wasn't a hairdryer.
The evening before I mentioned I'm vegan when discussing breakfast but on arrival to breakfast the only options were toast I would have to order and say \"no butter please\", jam and a very small selection of fruit. Nothing was labelled for dietary requirements.

This place is fantastic. As soon as you start going down the drive you know that you are going somewhere special. The house is beautiful, the grounds are stunning with a derelict church and the original house awaiting restoration. With a wonderful welcome at reception and then shown to your room.

The room I had was beautiful with great views and was spotless. A lovely shower and bathroom as well.

We ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious. Special mention has to go to the two young waitresses whose manner and service was outstanding.

Breakfast was delicious - a fantastic continental selection. Just be aware that continental is included, but cooked is extra.

One of the best hotels I have stayed in in a while. If I'm ever back in the area I will be staying here.

Strong smell from the septic tank!

The room was beautiful and clean however there is no aircon and it became extremely hot during the night. The fan supplied wouldn’t have been enough to cool the room and was making a loud clicking noise so we had to turn it off and open the patio doors. Unfortunately at 4.00am we were awoken by the really strong smell of the septic tank, which is directly outside the patio doors! There was no apology offered when my partner told reception about this, they are apparently aware? It sounds as if they have likely received more complaints based on that response, I understand they might lot be able to help the smell but at least apologise or offer some form of compensation as a gesture of goodwill. The breakfast isn’t included (only continental is free) - perhaps this could have been offered

Fabulous staff without exception. Room was lovely, modern and very private with lovely large bed. Ensuite was great too. The property as a whole though needs some serious tlc and attention to detail was barely there (eg, table dressing, menus, menu options, garnishes etc), which is a shame as the setting is lovely

This is our second stay at Slebech Park Estate as we like to stay here when exploring Pembrokeshire. The first time was during Covid so was difficult to make a fair assessment. The hotel and the grounds are immaculate and we enjoyed doing a morning run on the local trails. The staff are always friendly and accommodating.

Just an observation or a potential improvement, for a 5 star hotel I'd expect some room luxuries (ie. dressing gown) and better in room tea/coffee options (ie. Nespesso machine or something similar) I appreciate this is expensive but there's something about filling a kettle and making an instant coffee that just brings the quality down a notch (maybe because that's what I'd expect at my local Travelodge and it really was awful tasting instant coffee) However, it's not a complaint at all and maybe something they can look into in future to just add that touch of luxury to the rooms.

The restaurant (The Peg) on site is lovely and fairly priced. In the summer you can sit outside and enjoy the view.

We look forward to coming back again.

The property is in a wonderful, peaceful location, with a single lane approach road of some length. Our rooms were clean, tidy, spacious, and comfortable. The staff were friendly and did their best to be helpful. The continental breakfast was generous and varied. All the ingredients used in the kitchen were fresh and good quality. The hotel could be exceptional, but needs a bit more organisation and staff training to reach that standard.

We stayed here to celebrate our anniversary, drove over 4hrs and was not disappointed. The grounds are absolutely stunning, our room was simply amazing. The staff are very friendly and cant do enough to make your stay comfortable. The cooked breakfast was delicious! We will definitely be back soon. The rare bats that live in the tower are a really lovely feature to an already incredible venue, when we arrived it was dusk and they were very active, a real sight to behold. Next time we come, we will be staying longer, one night just isnt enough here! Thank you again for a wonderful stay.

Slebech Park - July 2025

Very nice room. Clean and in good condition. Good outside space to sit out in the evening. All in all, very pleasant. Beautiful grounds to walk around.
The restaurant was not so good. Evening meals varied from good to poor. The continental breakfast included in the price was disappointing. Very little choice and on our first morning they ran out of bread rolls. We had to wait 15 minutes while they baked some more. Nice and fresh but we had to sit around waiting for them! The cheese and ham was good. With a continental breakfast I would have expected some croissants or pastries but there were none.
The young waitresses tried their best but needed some training. I don't blame them - its a management issue.

Very nice but short staffed and it shows

Stayed (4 rooms) here as the start point for our group tour through Wales. The location is fabulous, the building itself clearly has a lot of history, the room was lovely and the bed was very comfortable and the reception staff were very pleasant and helpful.
However, and unfortunately, this is where the positives end. Upon arrival and after paying I was informed that the restaurant wasnt open on a sunday (the website and info in each room says different) which considering all of us had driven at least 4 hours to get there and the hotel is nowhere near a walkable restaurant. I was then told that the bar wasnt open either, which meant they had no indoor communal area.
Had this been December and out of season I'd have half accepted that certain amenities wouldn't be available. But we were there in late June, high season!
In the course of our business we spend a lot of time with small groups in hotels. Everywhere from Scotland to The Alps and even in the depths of the \"off\" season there has always been food and an indoor area to socialise.
For what is claimed as a luxury hotel this, for me, is completely unacceptable.
Then to top it off we had to book a timeslot for breakfast because \"the restaurant isn't big enough for the number of guests the hotel can accommodate\". Normally this isnt an issue as we have a tour beginning from there. For the record, the carpark holds maybe 8 cars so I'm not sure where this claimed vast amount of guests would have parked.

Disappointing stay

When driving into the estate you are greeted with a stunning view of the estuary and the building itself.
We booked a premium room for our anniversary and got our key shortly after turning up.

The room itself upon entering was really something. You can see effort has been made to make the room special. However, when taking a further look, it doesn't appear to have been looked after. There were stains/marks over the curtains and cushions. The curtains were also not able to be closed fully as they looked to have been partially pulled off of the rings.
The bathroom was directly behind the bed with only a wall separating it from the room (no door). I didn't feel comfortable using the toilet given it was so close to the bed!

Our evening meal at the restaurant was very pleasant, service was good and food was lovely.

The complimentary breakfast (continental) was poor. We were greeted by staff and asked to take a seat, we sat for 25 minutes and had no service. We ended up leaving with no breakfast as a result.

Overall, I left with mixed feelings. I loved the location but the other factors let it down.

Have stayed here a few times and was amazed with the room yet again. We have a beautiful room with views on both dire lions over the estuary, the bath was the perfect thing to improve the room and having time to soak and relax.

Beautiful grounds to the hotel and the building is lovely. Issues we had were the room was way to hot with no way to turn off the heating in the room and no opening windows in the bedroom itself cant really sleep with the door open all night. Was offered a fan for the room but that just pushed hot air around. The jacuzzi bath smelt awful when the only set of jets that were working were turned on. Reported to reception they didnt seem to care that much and was assured that they would have it looked at during the day. Came back to be told that maintenance had looked and it was fine so tried again and still not working. Showed this to receptionist and was offered a free warm breakfast in \"compensation\" not really what you expect of a supposedly luxury hotel stay very dissapointed.

Our recent stay at this hotel was truly delightful. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the breathtaking views and the serene atmosphere. The room was spotless, spacious and provided a comfortable retreat after a long day. The attention to detail in cleanliness and comfort made the stay even more enjoyable.

The only aspect that could be improved is the breakfast. While it was adequate, the continental selection lacked variety, and items were not replenished as frequently as expected. A little more attention to this detail would elevate the overall experience.

Despite this minor drawback, I highly recommend this hotel for its stunning views, impeccable rooms, and warm hospitality. I look forward to returning!\"

Would you like me to make any tweaks to the wording?

Room was tidy and comfortable. Breakfast good, limited selection of food for a continental breakfast. Cooked food was good.
Outside, the buildings looked very tired and needed a clean or paint along with the windows. Courtyard again, needed sprucing up. The grounds around the house were lovely and the walk to the productive garden and the old church were fabulous. Such a beautiful setting but the buildings a real let down.
I do understand that it needs alot of money to repair/paint etc. So more an observation rather than a criticism as we wanted the room for 1 night and were out to a wedding party in the evening of our stay in Haverfordwest.
Kind regards,
Chris

Lack of Care

We felt that the hotel lacked a communal area.
The room was quite small and while it was clean the fittings weren’t in the best condition. The curtain pole was loose and some of the furniture was a little shabby. The bathroom was clean and had a great shower.
The restaurant wasn’t open for dinner the night that we stayed.
The grounds and setting are lovely but the outside furniture was not very clean and didn’t look like it had been cleaned for some time.
The room was relatively reasonably priced as I booked on the day that we stayed. If I had paid the usual rate for the room I would have been very disappointed.

So much potential but needs work

In need of refurbishment. So much potential but we paid for a top notch room and found it wanting. One of the bedside lamps had clearly been removed but the bracket remained making it look very untidy. The room wasn’t clean, curtains and small sofa was disgusting, didn’t want to sit on it. The bed however was presented lovely. The wooden bench in room looked and did not feel safe, looked to have had a poor repair job done on it. The bathroom doors were very heavy and provided a loud bang each time they were used. Room was very spacious but they should make better use of it. The TV was awful, thankfully I’m a techy but others would find very challenging. Tv also relies on WiFi signal which kept dropping. Breakfast was a bit of a free for all as well, not well organised wi th a constant request going in from guests for items to be replenished. The hotel seemed to be run by a young group of girls who were very friendly and helpful but it was clear they lacked experience. Oh and also gave us the wrong walking route leading a closed path.

We stayed last minute on the way home from St Davids. When we got to our room (hot day) the radiator was on full blast. The room was absolutely boiling. We opened the windows and luckily we had a fan. We had a meal in The Peg which was nice. We got back to our room to a dog constantly crying in the room next door. Breakfast wasn't good. Beautifull estate but wouldnt book again.

Old-fashioned country hotel located in a peaceful estate. It’s easily accessible with car, and we enjoyed the morning walk.

For the room itself, it’s very, very outdated. We booked Luxury Double Room (Splendid), which has nice pictures showing either a duplex room or room with split floors. In reality, it was an out fashioned one bedroom room with basic setup. The hotel carefully called out each room had individual design, by chance you might get a good surprise, but you’ll also probably get a holiday inn express kind of room. So good luck!

And note that the breakfast include in the room rate is cold continental breakfast (worse than holiday in express), with left over fruit salad, two sourdoughs and some cold pastries that never get refilled during our 30-40 min dining time for two mornings. You do get plenty of fruit jams and butters.

The estate is beautiful, unfortunately we could could dine only one night in the restaurant due to refurbishment works in the restaurant. However the breakfast during our entire stay in the restaurant was excellent. Rooms were decent. Loved the patio on the backside of room over looking the green garden. Staff was friendly. They also decorated the room on request for my husband’s birthday. Our dog was welcomed everywhere on the estate. Restaurant had separate section allowed with dog. Overall good stay. We will visit again.

An Unforgettable Stay

I cannot praise Slebech Park Estate enough! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make our stay truly special. I had chosen this beautiful location as the setting for my proposal, and the team ensured everything was absolutely perfect.

The stunning surroundings, the peaceful atmosphere, and the attention to detail made it an unforgettable experience. The staff were incredibly accommodating, discreetly helping me plan the big moment and adding thoughtful touches that made it even more magical. Their kindness and professionalism made us feel so welcome, and they played a huge part in creating a memory we will cherish forever.

If you’re looking for a breathtaking location with outstanding service, I highly recommend Slebech Park Estate. We can’t wait to return and relive the wonderful memories!

We paid £165 for one night in a ‘top notch’ room. We were really disappointed with the room as although it was roomy, it was very tired and in need of refurbishment. Also, the bathroom toiletries consisted of one tiny shampoo and a tiny shower gel. Again, not what we would expect for a ‘top notch’ room. The estate itself is extremely tired to the point of looking derelict in places. On the plus side, the bed was comfy and the staff were friendly and helpful. We would not go back, for £165 we expect more.

A bit of a curate's egg

Despite the mixed reviews online, I decided to book in here for an overnight stay en route to Fishguard to take the ferry to Rosslare the next day. Not a great check in experience - only one person working and she was on the phone taking a booking which seemed to take forever. Then someone in front of me then me. Very disappointed to be informed that the restaurant was closed due to lack of demand. The lady said that I had been sent an email informing me but I did not receive. I therefore had to drive all the way back to Narbeth to get dinner. I would not have booked in had I known. The room was very comfortable indeed - no signs of wear and tear/cobwebs as other reviews had said. Stunning building in beautiful tranquil grounds but I can see why people say it is a B&B passing itself off as a five star hotel. Breakfast was not great. I declined to give them my order the night before so went for the continental which was included in the price. Went for a long walk then down for breakfast. Not much left. Very slow service. Room was freezing.

Stunning views… more attention to detail needed!

Stunning scenery and views as soon as you enter the estate and a warm welcome from reception. Room looked lovely, although a few more comforts needed. Better pillows, more toiletries, and the courtyard lighting made it hard to sleep as only had blinds (not blackouts) and no curtains. We stayed 2 nights and had no room service on the second day, so no replaced toiletries, coffee or towels (nothing major but their book said daily service). Lovely big bath. Bed was comfy. Great scenery from both windows and very peaceful surroundings. Continental breakfast was included but on the 2nd morning, we turned up and most things had been cleared away (almost like we had been forgotten about) and the lady looked and spoke to us like we had walked in off the street (which is impossible in this location!). Think there were only 3 or 4 rooms booked so it shouldn’t have been hard to know who was staying. Reception is only staffed for standard office hours, other than that it is phone only so could be tricky in an emergency situation due to the location. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, lovely scenery and peaceful which is what we wanted. But for what it appears to be, I expected much higher service so maybe the little things got to me more than they should have but either way, I hope this review helps others.

What a location.

First thing to say is that the staff were great. The location is fabulous but the place is a little tired. The room was lovely but (here’s an example of tired) the bathroom window was warped so wouldn’t close. The restaurant/bar was closed so there was no place to go other than our room. It also meant, of course, that we had to find somewhere to eat each night and, as the WiFi signal was poor in our room and there was no phone signal, making bookings was not easy. The staff did help out with this, which was great.

Stinking dirty with awful service

Spiders and fly infestation in the room, when mentioned to staff they couldn’t be more unhelpful. The shower was broke and room was generally stinking dirty. All insects in the sink and toilet stank. Skeleton staff. Dinner was over cooked and inedible, they also didn’t ask us about breakfast on the second morning so we had to go without (you must preorder by 8pm the day before). A fire alarm also went off at 7am, they didn’t even acknowledge it or apologise. Horrendous.

Lovely location for a quiet getaway.

Breakfast was a great every morning, but it was a bit disappointing that the restaurant is only open for dinner at the end of the week. The staff provided some great recommendations for places to eat in the local area though.

The room was comfortable and little additions in the birthday package were a nice touch.

We weren't able to walk around the grounds much as it was very wet, but the location is lovely and definitely relaxing. The hotel is close to a few towns and places to visit so there was plenty to do despite the weather.

All in all, had a nice stay.
