We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this hotel. The property is spotless, beautifully presented, and has a really up-market feel without being pretentious. We visited during the Tenby Ironman weekend, and the experience couldn’t have been better.
The host was outstanding, warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable about both the local area and the Ironman event itself. He went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, sharing great tips and guidance that really enhanced our visit.
Breakfast is included, and while we couldn’t enjoy it in the usual setting due to our 5:30 a.m. start, the host thoughtfully prepared a to-go breakfast bag for us. It was packed with fresh fruit, drinks, and snacks to keep us going throughout the long day, such a kind and practical touch that really made a difference.
Overall, the combination of excellent hospitality, immaculate rooms, and thoughtful little extras made our stay truly memorable. Whether you’re in Tenby for an event like Ironman or just for a relaxing break, this hotel is an absolute gem, I couldn’t recommend it more highly!

Porthclew House was a wonderful surprise. Our room was wonderful so beautiful to the side of it. There was even a communal use balcony which we and had a glass of wine in the evening.

Room was pleasant, the bed was very comfortable & with lovely soft pillows.
Towels were soft with a very pleasant smell that filled the bathroom. Only small complaints was the lack of Decaffeinated coffee & tea sachets, which you now expect in most establishments. Also the small TV was stuck in the corner of the room, but this only a minor problem.
The staff were pleasant & chatty & the breakfast was very nice.

Wonderful! This is a beautiful country house, set in a stunning location in the heart of Pembrokeshire. The service provided by the owners was first class and made us immediately feel at home. The breakfast was top notch and set us up well for our daily excursions. The location is perfect, with easy access to many local attractions including Tenby and Saundersfoot. The local beaches are stunning too. This was my first visit to Wales and it did not disappoint. Highly recommended.

We drove up to this beautiful planted garden in front of this gorgeous house - plenty of parking , very peaceful and serene . Sheryl greeted us and she couldn’t have been more welcoming, gentle and friendly . We had two separate rooms that we both stunning - huge, clean and warm. Beautifully decorated and large Georgian windows over looking the garden .
I had booked a meal at a local pub and Sheryl gave us clear directions for walking there . The next morning we went down for breakfast , so much choice and really good quality , perfectly cooked food ….. amazing . If you have any dietary requirements - you will be more than catered for. We absolutely loved our very short stay - the ‘recharge’ we desperately needed. Can’t thank Sheryl and her partner enough for their outstanding hospitality . They really have created a wonderful , blissful sanctuary. 10/10

I’ve stayed at Portclew house twice, it’s been my go to hotel, I’m all booked again in November and I’m sure I will be there in many more times to come. Very clean and tidy, there’s a small amount of rooms there so it’s not over busy with people walking/running around. Room is serviced everyday if asked ( option not to ) the views are nice and the surrounding area is well maintained and looks nice. Highly recommend

I booked the Portclew House for my birthday. We went awag with family and had 2 double rooms and a twin room. The house and rooms were presented beautifully and clean. Keys and breakfast forms were waiting in the porch on our arrival. The double beds were king size ans very comfortable. The house is set in lovely countryside. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely, the only downside was that our times for breakfast were chosen for us (probably due to covid restrictions).

We stayed at Portclew House from 16th-17th April 2021.
We were very impressed with the no hassle check in - an envelope was waiting in the foyer with my name on it, including keys & a form to complete, which also gave options for a hot breakfast in the morning. unfortunately there weren't any vegan options.
The room was big, clean, airy and decorated tastefully, it wasn't dowdy like so many guesthouses in this country seem to be. The window looked out onto the garden & you could also see the sea in the distance. The room also contained a paper bag with 2 gluten free bread rolls, jams, Naked bars, bananas, apples (we're both vegan and my partner is a coeliac). The tea-making facilities included a good choice of teas, some Galaxy milk chocolate and some biscuits, 1 of which happened to be accidentally vegan, which made me happy!
The guest house is in a great location, within walking distance of Freshwater bay beach, which is another example of a beautiful Welsh beach. Barafundle Bay and Pembroke also a very short driving distance away. There are also some pubs nearby, not that we could try them as we were still in partial lockdown. Due to the lockdown, there was a list of local takeaway numbers on the back of the door and plates & cutlery were provided in order to eat them in the room.
Overall I would recommend Portclew House to anyone looking for a tranquil stay in close proximity to wonderful beaches & countryside.

Very friendly welcome. Lovely clean comfortable room with nice view of garden. Excellent breakfast. The guest house is well located for touring the area, but you do need a car. The local pub serves good, reasonably priced food, but the short walk to the pub is along the road and you have to walk on the grass verge for some of the way and this is a little bit tricky. Thoroughly recommend a visit to the Stockpole Inn.

The setting is serene, quite and very beautiful. I wish there would have been more amenities like options for a take out lunch when hiking or any food available for purchase. There is only one pub about half a mile away and no place to even buy a drink for hiking. The owners were pleasant but occupied with other things other than their guests.
