Lovely stay at Lamphey Hall .Tim met us and we instantly felt welcome, he is such a good host , welcoming everyone and engaging in conversation about our trip , letting everyone know about the area and what is going on . Breakfast was lovely, well organised and plentiful. We will definitely be staying again .

We booked last minute to take advantage of the beautiful weather . The hotel was easy to locate , plenty of Car Parking space and we were greeted by a very friendly host . The decor takes me back to hotel stays when i was younger in a very nostalgic way . We will definitely re visit when the warm weather returns 🌞

Arrived around 6pm no staff at hotel so self checkin with a keybox, felt more like Airbnb than a hotel but cost same as much nicer fully staffed hotels we stayed other days. Place is run down and needs refurb

This beautiful old hotel has been kept in excellent condition with tasteful modernizations. Shower was super with lovely fluffy towels! Beautiful countryside setting.
Staff are friendly and helpful :) And the dinners were delicious.

Frustrating and short-lived stay

When I arrived to check-in, although I was expected, it was clear that the messages I had sent via Hotels.com regarding my time of arrival and my dinner booking hadn’t been received. Evidently there is a system problem between Hotels.com and OYO. Not a good start.
Only on arrival did I discover that breakfast was a Continental and not cooked. This wasn’t clear in the information I’d seen and had reasonably expected a full cooked breakfast. Had I understood this I would not have chosen this place. Cooked breakfasts are an important part of the holiday for me
When I got to my room, I found the windows open and a Pemrokeshire gale rattling round the room. It took my 10 minutes to close the sash windows and the room remained cold all evening.
After dinner I was unable to get my TV to work, but to get help had the ridiculous situation of having to leave the hotel and knock on the front door in the rain to get attention. I found someone but they were unable to help me with the TV.
As I sat in my bedroom that night, cold, wet, with no TV and the prospect of a cold breakfast in the morning, I decided that this wasn’t the place for me.
I checked out in the morning.

Stayed again due to work commitments. I stayed in the same single room as per the previous 2 visits. This time the bar wasn’t open due to sickness. Which is not a huge issue as the Dial Inn is just a few yards away. The issue this time was even though the heating was on the room was like a fridge. It was so cold that I had a sleepless night. Also, as per previous reviews the shower is not good. It is an electric shower that has no power and the water just trickles out. Don’t get me wrong the staff are amazing but there are niggles.

Work Stay

The Lamphey Hall is a great place to stay situated just outside Pembroke.
Upon arrival the staff are friendly and welcome and nothing is an issue.
The room is well presented, comfortable with sky TV. All the amenities are available including coffee/tea and complimentary shampoo and body wash.
There is plenty of off street parking. The bar is a welcoming place to sit and have a quiet drink with the bar friendly bar staff.
Highly recommended.

Work Visit

When I arrived I thought the hotel was closed as the reception door was locked. I went into the bistro where I greeted with a smile and they were expecting me. The Hotel had just reopened after some refurbishment work. The staff were friendly and helpful.
I enjoyed a nice glass of wine in the bar before retiring to the room. I only stayed in a single room, which was clean and comfortable.
The only issues I had with the room were that I could not get the TV to work as it needed to be connected to the wifi and also the electric shower trickled rather than sprayed water, but these are the only things wrong.

It was a great stay , lovely hotel .
Plenty of parking , lovely surroundings .
Staff were super helpful and friendly.
We stayed in on the Saturday night , watched the football & rugby in the bar while we drank & eat our evening meal washed down with a great ale.
We both had the 16oz Gammon which was superb.
In all I would definitely stay here again

On hotels.com the quadruple room is advertised as 2 double beds. This is unfortunately not the case. The room is a double & 2 singles.

A broken mirror in our room was a hazard with a 5 year old.
Simply placing a lamp to try and disguise the dangerous mirror is not acceptable.

Clean and comfortable. Breakfast very good.
Shower wasn't switched on and its ceiling switch was out of reach, which made it difficult on the first day - ok afterwards.

Only down side was that the room that we had booked was not ready and we were kindly given other options for room but room #6 for my hubby and I was super small with no sitting area and could barely even have room to walk around bed

It was ok. Narrow slit of a window in bedroom. Hallway light stays on all night with light coming into room. Scrambled eggs for breakfast were uncooked and all a little greasy. Cold and drafty in the lounge, had to sit there with a big coat on. Staff were very friendly and good service from them.

Lovely stay in a lovely hotel.

The people that work there are really friendly, and worked hard at making our stay a nice one.

The food was excellent value: big portions, delicious, and reasonably priced.

I'm used to spending at least £6 for a pint of Beer, so I was surprised when a pint of Beer, and two Soda and Limes come to £5.

The room was clean and spacious, the beds were comfortable, and although the TV in the room was small, we didn't go on holiday to watch telly, so this wasn't a problem for us. Tea, coffee, sugar, and milk in the rooms were plentiful, and were quickly topped up when we asked. The bathroom had a sink, shower, toilet, and nice, big, clean, towels - all we needed for our two night stay.

There's a lovely old ruin a short, walk away - it's called Lamphey Palace. It's very quiet, and is well worth a look.

If we do ever visit the area again, we would like to stay at the Lamphey Hall Hotel again.

Big room, nice towels (once I got them) and bedding. Otherwise awful. I was in room 2
Full check in detail of previous guest availble for me to see at reception, as was mine went back about 30 mins later.
I had to ask for towels. Hairs on bathroom floor. Shower is mouldy on the tiles & seal, shower hose and ceiling. Hand towel holder fell off when I put towel in it. Have to flush twice to get a full flush. Nowhere to put your soap etc in the shower, installation sticker still on shower, just shoddy all round.
You have to put the kettle on the floor to plug it in.
The tv remote had been melted(!) and taped back together with gaffa tape.
The room is dark, the lighting is badly placed and as it looks onto the seating area for diners and drinkers its very exposed unless you keep the blinds closed. I coudlnt close the window it was stuck.
I have had no response from the manager.
I paid £140 a night for a sepcial treat and couldnt be more dissapointed.
Vegeterain food was mediocre, I ate twice, two choices both times, curry or rissotto, good job I like rice. Breakfast was ok, serving a lemon wedge with scrambled eggs (no fish) was hilarious.
Dont waste your money at this hotel find a proper one.

Room for improvement

On the face of it, this hotel looks promising. The outside is attractive but the interior, both public areas and the room, is disappointing.
Our room had an uncomfortable, worn-out bed, no blackout lining to the curtains (the attractive Venetian blinds were useless at keeping out early morning sun), and there was no proper shower over the bath.
The staff, while being perfectly nice, seemed very inexperienced and didn't seem to have a grasp of the hotel's facilities. For example they seemed unsure of the breakfast times.
The only good thing about this place was the food, both at breakfast and at dinner, which was surprisingly good.

Average stay but food was good

Room was 3-star. Food was 4-star. Service was 3.5-star for dinner & 2-star for breakfast.
We stayed in room 4 and it was above the kitchen. The kitchen extractor fan was not far from the window and it started about 6am in the morning. Needless to say it was noisy for late sleepers like us. Large bathroom that made the bed to close to the bathroom door. There were 2 little bottles of shampoo and a piece of soap. Asked for body wash and was given more soap which was not a problem. Due to COVID, when check-out guests were asked to take out bedding except bed protector & put them into a large plastic bag.
Pub/restaurant was packed on our arrival but managed to get some dinner at the end. Food was lovely.
Breakfast itself was good but service was lacking. The acute shortage of experienced staff was too obvious. Table was laid for one person when 2 people sat there. Had to ask more than once for all the right cutleries and for cups. The other couple just helped themselves by taking cutlery sets from other tables. at the end.
Would try somewhere else to stay next time.
