We stayed here as a stop point from travelling from the south of England to Blackpool. The host was super friendly and welcoming and the room was lovely, clean and spacious. Unfortunately there was some loud banging of doors from others during our stay and the bed was a little soft for my comfort but overall this a great place and offers excellent value for money.

Stayed two nights at this property, it’s very tired needs a total refit. The staff that I met are excellent helpful and very kind. The bed was fresh and clean, the bathroom was clean and the shower excellent. For what we wanted a bed for two nights and a bathroom was perfect. We’re very un entitled for someone else this might not work. There was a hairdryer fan iron and tea and coffee facilities fresh towels.
I didn’t use the restaurant for either breakfast or dinner so can’t comment. We went for a family occasion and for somewhere to sleep it was ok.

Have stayed here before, it is convenient for us as our son lives in the village the room we stayed was small.The price we paid for the room which was cheaper than the last time, we thought was right for the room. First time we have tried breakfast here it was excellent, could not fault it.The lady who served us was very pleasant. Still think the rooms could do with brightening up.

This hotel was brilliant! It was clean, peaceful and the atmosphere was really warm and welcoming. The breakfast was appetising and fresh and tasty.
The staff were concientious, friendly and welcoming and happy to help.
All in all I can't recommend The Vicarage enough and would be more than happy to stay there again!

I upgraded to a deluxe room and the bed was rubbish as soon as I sat or lay on the bed the mattress went flat and lumpy it was knackered I also upgraded to the half board option which when I went to pay for my evening meal no discounts were applied. It say you get a food & drink credit which turned out to be only £25 and even then I was only allowed to use on food so the upgrade option it so a rip off

The walls are very thin and you can hear conversations from the next room and even when folk plug stuff in and turn switch’s on and off

On the plus food is great

We had Room 1 which can only be described as needing a complete makeover. Admittedly we didn’t pay a fortune but furniture was chipped& shabby, carpet dirty and damaged, room smelt of smoke, bath panel broken and shower head full of mould. Was very disappointed. Our friends had another room which was lovely that they had paid more for but we took what was the only room available at the time of booking.

This was a last minute stop over. Great food and fantastic value for money. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean and comfortable. Yes a little warm but like I said wasn’t overpriced so was very happy. The pub and function rooms look fantastic so would definitely recommend a stay or even just to stop for food.

We spent 2 nights at The Vicarage - very pleasant experience. Friendly welcome very informative. Good choice at Breakfast - nothing too much trouble. Did not have evening menu as was visiting family in the area. Rooms reasonable size - also bathroom - shower could have been better - internet not great but overall very good stay - would return.

We are extremely disappointed at our stay last night for the amount of money we paid the environment was unkempt the surrounding areas before arriving to our room gave us a good indication of what we was about to expect the carpets had not been vacuumed there was thick dust everywhere the fan in the bathroom was broken so each time we used the bathroom there was an horrendous noise The bin in the bedroom was filty the walls had stains splatterd on my partners pillow case had stains the room and hotel was very tired and unkempt i can forward photographs if needed

There is a significant mismatch between the social media photos of this property and rooms and the reality. The bathroom in our room
Was particularly poor- mould around the bath, rust all over the bin, marks on the door and generally a very low standard. Marks on the walls in the bedroom, random hangers in the wardrobe…felt very budget and yet, far from a budget price. The outside eating areas are overlooking the car parks and by a very noisy road. Really disappointing. The staff however were lovely and extremely helpful.

This hotel was right on the route I needed to be on, and in that sense it was great. However, despite my warning them of my late arrival, I had to wander around and find someone to ask to check in. Staff were very dismissive. The room was really hot, happily they had a fan. The radiator was off, but the pipe on the wall was basically another radiator!
The biggest issue was that the mattress was old/cheap and very thin. The duvet was extremely cheap polyester. These things combined made it rather uncomfortable. I would not stay here again - there's a Travelodge nearby that will be more comfortable.

Unfortunately the room stayed in was very tired and very hot. We had to keep the window open all night but as the car park was directly outside, we were kept awake.
I used the hotel checkin emailed to me but couldn’t find anyone on arrival.
The complimentary Continental Breakfast was very poor. Bread not fresh, no yogurt and pastries stale.
What a shame.

Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in.
Room smelt like stale beer/pub. Carpet was dirty, had hair all over it. TV didn’t work.

Room advertised wasn’t the room I received. I paid for a room advertised with a bath, I got a completely different room.

This hotel advertises the double rooms with the picture of their suites, false advertising!!!

Food in the pub is awful too.

Lovely place to stay

We had a wedding nearby so needed a place to stay and came across this place.

The service and staff have been so friendly, helpful and down to earth.

The room we got was spacious and clean. It had an iron and ironing board that we requested already in the room, great touch. It had a rv, tea and coffee selection with a kettle and a complimenatry sparkling water.

The bed was great, really comfortable with thick sheets and pillows. Despite being on the ground floor the windows kept the outside noise out.

The bathroom had a shower and bath combo, where the shower head was super powerful! Nice complimentary toiletries too.

We had dinner and breakfast there, both timesbwere lovely. The food and service was exceptional. The atmosphere in the restaurant was chilled and relaxing.

The few negatives that we had were the toilet lid and seat didn’t stay up, so made it a bit of challenege to pee standing up. There wasn’t much shelf space for the toiletries, so had to workaround that. There is no air conditioning, which would have been nice as the room gets a vit hot now and again.

But these are small negatives and can't fault the amazing service and place that this place is.

The Hotel was a nice stay I used the restaurant and bar, food was good and the staff very polite. my room was comfortable and had the nice touch of tea, coffee and biscuits options with an additional 2 x packs of crisps and 2 x bottles of water.
The bed could do with a new mattrass as there was no padding left in it, when sat on there you felt the base. Apart from that all was ok.

The traffic was very heavy passed the front of the building were the table and chairs for sitting out were situated. There was no quiet drink sat there. I had to clean two seats before sitting down. A huge facility was across the busy roads were wagon and huge trailer went to unload produce.
I noticed immediately all the table tops in the breakfast room had rings sticky rings were drinks had been placed. At first I thought it was in the pattern of the wood tables. I had to clean the table before I could use one to wait for our friends. As I mentioned in the other form this is a dog friendly pub. But the dogs were smelly from there walks and one sat each morning just simpering at its owners while they had breakfast. It was annoying and uncomfortable for the rest of the breakfast people not just ourselves. The coffee was awful too. Prices a bit too high.

The rooms were clean and nicely decorated but there was wear and tear I.e marks on the walls. Bed was so comfy !!!
The bathroom was not as pictured for a deluxe room. More just a standard white bathroom like premier inn etc. That was a bit of a disappointment but didn’t really affect our stay.

Over all it was a nice stay, the food and the staff were lovely and we would stay again if we were in the area

A convenient location for what we were doing. It has plenty of parking, including reserved parking for residents when there's a large event on. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The bedroom was clean and a reasonable size and had little extras like crisps. Breakfast had a good choice of items for which you pay extra to the room and pay on the morning.

My only small comment would be that the stair carpet needs replacing - it's worn and ripped, and doesn't give a good impression before you get to your room.

The hotel is very rundown on both the inside and the outside. I think the hotel mostly caters for people travelling with dogs.
This isn’t what me and my pregnant wife wanted.
The tired room had been cleaned but you could still see dog hair on the carpets.

We were kept awake in the night with the fire door banging outside our room and lots of comings and going in the corridor.
I complained at 20:30pm but nothing was done about it.
They refused hotels.com request to refund my stay.
There are some nice b&bs in Holmes Chapel I advise going there instead.

Our first visit as we were visiting a hi-fi show nearby, the new landlord had recently taken over and was in the process of making the hotel great again, he said it's been run down a little and they wanted to bring it back up. They did seem a little short staffed but other than that I cannot complain at all the food was good the beer was good the place itself was good the only downside is a noisy peacock in next doors garden!!

Perfect little gem

Another lovely relaxed stay here with my dog. Excellent location if you have a dog as there is a beautiful walk opposite the hotel along the river and into a beautiful meadow.
Great service, food, atmosphere comfy beds, rooms beautifully decorated and more.....
Nicola is super helpful and an asset to the Vicarge.

Comfortable room, modern and clean. The toilet flush was weak but that was all. The restaurant was great and we were fortunate to be served by two wait staff who were exceptionally good and very pleasant - one who served us for dinner and one who served us for breakfast. Lovely staff. They were happy to give baby cot but did not tell me that I will be charged £5 until it was check out time.
Needed to wait a while to get the hot water issues fixed as it seemed boiler wasn’t sat right? Not told what was the issue really. The sink was flooding and when I tried to see if I can unblock it it was so disgusting and so filthy. I really regretted the whole thing. I don’t know why but the cheaper travelodge I was much cleaner and better maintained.
