A bit of a wait for breakfast and not the best. We had room 2 but moved to room 3 because the heating was playing up. These are dog friendly rooms and were both excellent for the night. Great staff and a warm welcome in nice surroundings

Cold and frustrating

Haven't stayed here for a while but wasnt impressed with this visit. The rooms are modern, the staff are nice and attentive.
When I travel away on business, its about the quality of my sleep and the shower. The shower is an electric shower so the pressure wasnt great and eas impossible to get the right temperature. It was either boiling or freezing.
After being out for a evening meeting, the room was freezing. It was then i discovered that the bathroom window had been left open. I went to get a cup of tea but no tea bags and too late to get some.
The bed was lovely and comfy. The issue arose at 415am when I woke up and i struggled to get back to sleep as the rain was so loud on the window. When i did eventually get back to sleep, i was awoken again by the drayman dragging the barrels around 6am.
In isolation these may seem petty but the actual 'time' I spent in the hotel wasnt great. As mentioned earlier, I have stayed here before but wont be rushing back.

Had a fantastic one night stay here. Couldn’t fault anything about the property or the staff. The only thing was the aircraft noise however that didn’t stop me and my partner having a good nights sleep. Will definitely return.

Unfortunately, my stay at this hotel was far from restful. The biggest issue was the constant noise—planes were landing or taking off every 5 minutes throughout the night, only letting up between 1am and 5am. To make matters worse, there was a loud extractor fan just outside my bedroom window that turned on and off all night, and I could even hear the person snoring in the room next door due to poor sound insulation.

Cleanliness and maintenance also left a lot to be desired. There was a spider infestation in the bathroom, the headboard I used to charge my phone was really dusty, and the toilet didn’t flush properly. The car park was also difficult to locate, could really do with improving signage.

On a more positive note, the food was really good. Apart from the chicken for the main course being pink, the scallp scallop starter was absolutely delicious, and one of the best breakfasts I've ever had!

The bed was extremely comfortable, and the staff were amazing.

Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to stay in unless some major improvements are made to cleanliness, maintenance, and noise control.

The pub / restaurant I would highly recommend though : )

Lovely welcoming staff. Private carpark. Lovely pub. Really good breakfast. Our room room (9) was small and it was a very hot day/night so room was hot but there is a fan. Shower wasn't very powerful but overall adeqate for our 2 night stay. Nice bedding and fluffy towels. Great location for the town centre.

1 night stay November 2024
The pub is OK but I thought I should highlight the risk of parking here!
I booked 2 rooms here for a family meet up and overnight stay - choosing the place because it had free town centre parking and both couples were coming by car. On arrival we went to reception registered our numberplate on the touch-screen (or so I thought, my wife swears she saw me do it too... )
The nice lady on reception told us that unfortunately there was a Farmers market blocking the street which gives access to the car park for the majority of the following day so unless we were leaving after the market finished (which we weren't) we should go and park instead in any of the Council controlled car parks instead and she gave us a laminated card to display giving us free parking for the whole weekend. I said I would go and move the car straight away as I fancied a pint after a long drive but she said the car parks were busy and it might be better to move the car in a couple of hours when there were more likely to be spaces available. On this basis we went for a couple of hours walk through Tatton Park (I'd definitely recommend that) and moved the car about 5pm when we eventually managed to find a spot about 400 yards from the pub - I imagine it would have been difficult at 3pm so the advice we were given to park later was sound.
We enjoyed our weekend in Knutsford but some weeks later we received a Parking Charge Notice to pay £100 to Smart Parking Limited...

Uostaurs us tired, dribbly shower, radiators don't seem to work (there is an oil heater supplied), caroet a bit manky and old. Needs some investment to bring the place back. For the centre of Knutsford this was all quite a surprise...

Lovely place, comfortable clean room and good breakfast. I didn’t eat in the restaurant / bar in the evening but it was packed and the food looked really good.
I was welcomed at reception by a friendly helpful receptionist and the lady serving breakfast was also friendly and helpful.

In all it was a really good experience and I will be returning.

If your looking for a freezing experience book now

I don’t often write bad reviews but I felt the need for management to act upon our recent experience 3rd January. We arrived during the U.K. cold freeze with weather temperatures below minus. We arrived at the room at 4pm to a freezing cold room colder than outside. I explained to the gentlemen on the reception due to health conditions I could not be subdued to such cold temperatures and explained when turning on the radiator no heat prevailed. He advised it was on a timer and would not come on till 6pm so I had to shower and get ready in a stone cold room. I explained we were staying as flying from Manchester airport and would be catching an early flight and leaving at 3am and he said sorry the heating would not come on until 5am the following morning, I said this would not help my situation. I asked if he could provide another oil heater as the one we had barely gave out much heat and he said he would ask. He did not follow up on this and we were left with no choice but too again get ready in a freezing cold room at 3am saturday morning. In past experience I arrived to a warm room not a hotel that saved fuel and compromised their guests.

Further to this there were hairs in the shower and out of 5 I would give the cleanliness 2 stars. The noise from the bar kept us awake all night! I would not recommend and the start of our holiday did nowhere meet our expectations. Luckily for us the rest of our holiday had far exceeded expectations.

We stayed at the Rose & Crown 19th and 20th June 2024. Nice room with tea / coffee facilities. Parking in pubs own parking area at the back of the hotel. There is a beer garden where we had fish & chips and must say it was the best fish & chips we have ever had. Next morning we had full English breakfasts with tea or coffee and plenty of toast. All on all excellent value for money.

First impressions are really good but our stay was ruined by water leaking through the ceiling in the fitted wardrobe causing constant dripping noise throughout the night keeping us awake on inspection the wardrobe was full of cobwebs and had a damp stained wall and water damage which tells me this has been happening long term. When reported no discount given were apologetic but did say hope to see you again but understand if we don’t not great customer service. On a plus the breakfast was quite good location good but what could be a really great place to stay is let down by poor preventative maintenance on the whole a great location nice bar restaurant area

Always a great stay at the Rose & Crown. The staff are exceptional from checking in to the bar and waiting staff. Alway attentive and professional in their roles. New menu was excellent. There’s a wonderful feel within the pub, community spirit. The old world feel with the low lighting and candles in the evening gives a warmth and depth.

Rooms are very comfortable and a great night’s sleep, becareful if you pass the jar of eclairs on the landing, very addictive if you’ve got a sweet tooth.

Breakfast is always very good, staff member exceptional in their level of service. Some Greek yogurt might be a good addition and a little more choice for hot food but can see the footfall really drives this option. Food though is very good.

Great location In town, exceptional levels of service and attentiveness with staff, wonderful community feel, dog friendly which is a pleasure to see and great food.

1. Auto email message said no food on Mondays but on arrival told no food on Tuesday due to a pub quiz… so why not send out an email to booked guests in advance?
2. Shower had no hot water.. no matter if I turned the temp to full either way! Tan the hot tap on the bath and only Luke warm at 8am.
3. My side of the bed mattress has obviously had the most wear as it has sunk (left hand side in room 5). Wife side

The room size was great but its so noisy, the windows do not shut but they installed a glass section in front which doesnt help the noise
The room was clean but the bathroom was tatty, a genuine hole in the floor near the shower and a smell of damp. Breakfast was lovely service was slow to get a coffee. Was okay but too costly for what you get.

I stay here on a regular basis usually mid-week, and am always impressed by the quality of service, and friendly ambiance of this town centre Inn. The food is always top quality with a regularly changing menu of traditional pub grub mixed with more innovative fare. Always cooked to perfection. The rooms are clean, cozy and quiet. Bar is well stocked with 2-3 regular cask beers always on tap. What’s not to like?

The only good thing about this hotel was the location..
We had room number 1..
Bed was lumpy and uncomfortable , sheets had a stain on, barely room to manoeuvre, carpet felt sticky, very basic and bathroom shower /bath panels was cracked and walls next to toilet were dirty..
Breakfast, you got fresh orange if you wanted it, tea or coffee, no fresh fruit ,cereals, or yogurts etc they ask you what you want for cooked breakfast and that all you got, but we aren't big eaters in any way, but it been nice to have a little choice.
For a B&B within a pub for £120 a night is poor..

Allowed to check in quickly & early as attending a wedding, also received a lovely welcome & room upgrade.
Parking over the road & free as they gave us a sticker/ notice to place in our car as there was a Sunday artisan market on.
Room comfy lovely biscuits & various beverages available too.
Room 5 could do with a new/ fresh carpet in- sorry- overall though v v good.

This was an ideal base for us as we were visiting family in Tytherington and Manchester.
It is dog friendly which was one of the reasons we chose this hotel, as we had our puppy with us, plus there are two great parks nearby.
The property is an old coach house with lots of original features and fits perfectly into the town. The Town is bustling during the day with people visiting the local shops, pubs and eateries.
The hotel room was adequate for our stay but is in need of refurbishment, especially the bathroom.
The pub and restaurant have a nice atmosphere and we enjoyed our Sunday lunch but the restaurant wasn’t open for the next two days.
We were woken up at around 6am on the Tuesday by the drayman delivery which felt like it went on for hours.
Breakfast was fine, basically a full English or mixture of with orange juice, tea and coffee. Not much else to choose from.
