Can not recommend this place enough, especially if using it for a Manchester airport stay, it is much more convenient and comfortable than the airport hotels. Includes free parking and is a 5-10 min drive to the airport.

My partner and I were attending a wedding nearby and the hotel was perfect. From the minute we walked in. Reception staff were very friendly and welcoming, The bar and restaurant staff acted like they'd known you for years. Nothing was too much trouble. We will be coming back for another stay.

Staff were generally pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately, there was an unreasonable stand taken on our first night, when the”systems went down” and we could not put our meal bill on the room. Also, the TV never worked during our stay in spite of everyone seeming to know what was wrong with it. No-one came to fix it. The breakfast was OK but, at dinner, they had no prawns (it was on the menu) and the steak was the smallest I’d ever seen. We held our wedding reception here 55 years ago. It was a lot better then. All in all, disappointing.

While the hotel generally was fine there was a problem upon checking-in. I had previously requested a twin bedded room which the hotel confirmed was available. Upon checking-in I asked if the allocated room had twin beds and received confirmation. However upon visiting the room it had a double bed. The hotel did move me, but the experience did little to build one's confidence.

The worst nights sleep
The worst nights sleep, the walls are paper thin and we could hear the person next door coughing all night. People leaving their rooms were letting the doors slam. Our room was near the service yard and we had to listen to a he racket of the bins being emptied followed by a delivery from the brewery all first thing on a bank holiday morning.

Very comfortable bed. Staff friendly. Our room was down on the 1st floor by eye level with the car park. Carpets rather grubby in bedroom & corridor. Breakfast rather limited . Hot food rather dried up at 8am and fruit salad ran out. Asked for fresh eggs as others were dried up. Took about 30 mins to arrive after a lot of prompting. Evening meal was good. Staff friendly.

Absolutely love this boutique hotel. It not only has charming rooms but a fantastic restaurant with a lovely pub area. It's great if you want to go for a walk as there are several tree-lined streets. Would highly recommend if you are staying near the airport as you can take the airport relief Road. Have stayed here on numerous occasions

Breakfast on my first morning was very poor with most items unavailable. The room was very tired and in poor condition. Worst of all was there was no hot water for my morning shower, it came on just before I left the room. Always nice to start the day with a cold shower when it’s minus 3 outside. The photos on the website are not reflective of the real condition.
The hotel is evidently being run with limited funds. Would not return and not recommend.

Embarrassing moment.
The Hotel was nice overall, but i was very disappointed to be half naked in my room getting ready for a shower, and a female resident who had just arrived entering my room. She too had been given the key to room 215.
Both of us were very embarrassed, with very little apologies coming from the hotel staff.

The Stanneylands was a very quiet, comfortable hotel considering its vicinity to Manchester airport. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and professional. The on site restaurant was lovely and the food was excellent. Again, the staff were lovely.

Easy parking and I could charge my car free of charge which was extremely helpful. In fact that is why I chose the hotel and why I will continue to do so. Everything else was great too. Power shower which I really appreciate also.
