Without going into a long story, my wife and I were ill by the time we arrived. The staff at Willowbank took care of us as if we were blood family.

It's all about location at Willowbank. The property is positioned between two nice beaches. One is facing Ely's Harbor and the other is ocean-facing. Both are beautiful and generally quiet and calm. There is also a pier around which to snorkel (it is teeming with aquatic life). There is a good restaurant on the property and the staff are friendly. It is not a luxury resort, so if you need to be pampered and waited on, this is probably not going to be a good option for you. If you prefer calm, quiet and laid-back vibes with incredible views, this might be your best bet. Others notable property amenities include a gym, tennis and pickleball courts, a pool, and a basketball goal.

Willowbank Resort was a perfect fit for us. We loved the quiet atmosphere. We snorkeled daily, ( bring your own equipment) enjoying the two beaches and boardwalk point. The staff was gracious and helpful. Beautiful view of sunset and stars. We enjoyed using the nearby bus system to engage in night life and events elsewhere, but happy to come back to this secluded haven

disappointi stay at willowbank resort

Willow banks resort did not live up to its presentation on hotels.com When I booked with Hotel.com the listing showed that breakfast was included in the price. the resort said stated breakfast was not included and would be $60 a day. I called Hotels.com and spook to a person about the issue and they said they would contact the resort and get this resolved and call me back. the person never called the resort and never called me back. the first hotel room we were taken to was not what we had booked and was unacceptable old dirty beat-up furniture rusty refrigerator and full of ants. Phone did not work in the room could not call the front desk. no one at the front desk after 6pm. local people coming into the resort and walking around No the deadbolt on the door did not work there was no way to secure the door from the inside of the room my wife felt very unsafe at night, so I had to slide a large chair in front of the door. I would expect to be refunded the it cost me to have breakfast every day I would not recommend this resort to anyone the resort is very misrepresented on Hotels.com

Our first time in Bermuda - didn’t know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised by our choice of accommodation. It couldn’t be any more perfect. Just what we needed. The location of our cottage was perfect - walking down to the beaches first thing in the morning was an absolute joy. Only negative that the restaurant was not fully open so lunch and dinner needed some planning.

Tennis and pickle ball courts are available- we had some fun family tennis time while staying here.

Chef Nick and our Concierge Daivan were outstanding - making sure we were well taken care of.

We’ll be back to your beautiful retreat for sure!

This was a wonderful resort - out of the way - but beautiful and reasonably priced for Bermuda standards. They are doing a rehabilitation of the facility- hopefully that includes the showers / this was really the only thing that I did not like (it was hard to wash my thick hair without such little water pressure.) the staff / especially head chef Nick - is amazing! The grounds are beautiful.

My family stayed in an Ocean Front room recently and loved the resort. The thing that stood out most for us was the staff. Every person we interacted with was incredibly friendly, helpful with any questions we had, always a smile on their faces and a warm greeting.

The room had an incredible view although it could definitely use some updating. The continental breakfast at times was scarce, but other days there was fresh fruit and yogurt options. The full breakfast, lunch and dinner items were quite good.

Bermuda is stunning! Willowbank was an excellent choice for our first trip! A former Christian retreat with old world charm, loved it! Gorgeous views and two private pink sank beaches!! The staff and all Bermudians were the most friendly that we’ve ever encountered! The Willowbank restaurant prepared the best “local” fried fish on raisin bread sandwich on the island!! Will definitely return next time during lobster season!

Incredible Place with Incredible People.

I stayed at Willowbank Resort with my husband, 2 year old, and my brothers. I fell in love with the place. The staff were absolutely BEYOND. Front desk, security, the restaurant, the owners - the most wonderful people, so lovely, so kind and such a joy to be around. From the first night on front desk we were assisted to our rooms and stayed in Tamarisk 1 and Tamarisk 4 - unbeatable view with a superb little private beach. We ate at the restaurant most nights and enjoyed our meals so much. The grounds and the facilities themselves are great, super chilled out , super clean and incredibly family friendly. My little daughter loved it so much and it brought me so much joy. I am going to give a more fuller review to name the wonderful people who we interacted with at a later date as I simply have not gotten round to doing so, but if you are in two minds if you should stay here then just go for it. 2 years prior we had gotten married and stayed at Cambridge Beaches and had a good time, we were going to go there again but decided to try Willowbank and I really enjoyed the peacefulness low key vibe - wild, free and super peaceful, a true gem. CHEFS KISS. Thank you to all of you. I cannot wait to come back. Much love to all of the Willowbank Resort . Thank you for such a warm and welcoming stay.

First the pros: very quiet, very clean hotel, two tiny beaches, but beautiful. Food at the restaurant is very good and service at the restaurant is excellent.
The cons: it is far from most places and since you cannot rent a car it is quite challenging to find transportation. The hotel would call a taxi and it would take over 30-40 minutes to get it, it is shows at all. Reception does not help on this. Also we did not like the room- it was obviously not used for a long time, it had a funny smell and was very humid. We saw much better rooms so that was only our experience, but it did make a difference. Overall good, but select a room facing the water as those seemed much better.

The property is very outdated and not modern. We were looking for luxury resort feel, and Willobank does not offer that. In addition, we were not provided the size bed we requested. Management was gracious about our situation and agreed to reimburse our money and we went to stay elsewhere.

The staff was extremely accommodating and helpful. The rooms are not fancy but are very clean with wonderful views of the ocean. My only complaint was the complimentary coffee in the lobby is served by 6:30 and one morning it wasn’t ready until 7:30.

Staff is top notch - friendly, helpful, available. Gave great advice on places to see, local restaurants, etc. Beautiful views of the ocean. Sparkling pool two small, private beaches on site. Tips for travelers: learn the local bus system - safe, convenient, predictable. Also, there is a food shop a short ride by bus in Somerset for incidentals. Enjoy!

All but one of the front desk workers were very kind and pleasant and made the stay feel like we were family. The AC worked well and the tiled rooms held the cool well. The maids did good work. The ocean view was glorious and I was perfectly content with the two beach options. Although it's on the far end of the island, it means fewer guests and more peace and quiet. Some of the decor was dated, but the beds were comfy and the resort still looked nice. The water pressure is a bit lacking in the shower and toilet and my tub drained very slowly. The curtains were hard to close and the lock for the door was really hard to get open. Very simple but delicious continental breakfast. They provide beach towels as well. I would definitely consider staying here again. The pool was also very nice and they had a shower and floaties available.

We stayed in Hibiscus and it had an excellent unobstructed view of the ocean and the sunsets were spectacular. Because of its somewhat remote location and far from the road, it was always very quiet. The property has access to two beaches, one on the ocean which is rather small but very scenic and the other in a protected bay.

The room itself is pretty basic and feels a tad dated but ok. I would have loved it if the room had a small kitchenette as dining was a challenge. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean. More hooks to hang wet stuff would be nice since we constantly had wet towels and swim wear. While a 'continental' breakfast is included, the options are limited to basically bread, muffins, yogurt and apples. Some additional included options would have been appreciated. Paid options such as omelets were available to but we never did those. Lunch and dinner options were decent but very expensive for what you get. We would end up taking the bus back to Dockyard for most dinners.

Because of its location, getting around is a bit of a challenge. There is a bus stop that heads into Hamilton right across the street which was convenient but the one heading to the Dockyards was down the road with the sidewalk only going there halfway. We ended up using Dockyard as our hub for nearly everything which is a 10 minuite ride away. The only problem is having to constantly wait for a bus.

The staff were all great and super helpful with any questions we had.

If you are looking for a low key, private, quiet place to stay with absolutely gorgeous views. Stay in the Rosemary 1 room at this resort. We loved our room. The view was amazing! The went to the beach everyday after exploring the island. The beach is beautiful, small and private and perfect for a dip in the ocean before getting for dinner or before heading out in the morning . The staff is pleasant and always accommodating

Willowbank was a welcoming and clean property. The staff were friendly and the food served in the dining room was delicious. Willowbank was also a quiet place to rest and had two beaches available were the water was lovely and warm. My son and I were able to access taxis and public transportation to reach venues across the Island.

Unfortunately, this booking didn’t meet our needs and we ended up finding alternative accommodations.

Pros: great grounds, sweet and kind staff, and exclusive access to two of possibly the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen in my life!

Cons: very remote and not walkable to any amenities, food, sightseeing, etc. this is an alcohol-free facility (NO bar and no ability to purchase alcohol); extremely limited on site food options; we learned after our arrival (NOT disclosed on website) that this facility is operated by an evangelical Christian organization. Could be perfect for someone in need of a remote, dry experience, but not what we were looking for. We upgraded to the Princess in Hamilton and it was a better fit for us.

We would definitely stay at Willowbank again! The staff are so genuine, so happy and caring. Manager Gina and Monica from the front desk are superstars.

The property has the BEST beach - so much so that we didn’t go to the crowded and overpriced (for lawn chairs) Horseshoe Bay.

Food prices are high throughout the island so staying at the hotel to dine was a savings if you don’t rent a car and rely on taxi/bus. Continental breakfast was all carbs and some apples/oranges - would have liked some boiled eggs or protein. They went out of their way to accommodate the vegan in our party who loved their creations!

Location is convenient. We bought the 3-day bus tickets from the front desk. With the bus stops right across the street and about a block away, we loved that we could travel from one end of the island to the other and by ferry boat. Loved how people say hello when getting on the bus.

If everyone from Bermuda could go populate the world, it would a whole lot kinder and happier!

First time in Bermuda for my family. We booked 2 oceanfront rooms and chose Willowbank based on the reviews, pictures and pricing. We traveled the entire island and the views from Willowbank were some of the best anywhere. It was super quiet, so if you are looking for a lively crowd, this isn’t the place. There were several small beach areas down the hill and most days we were the only ones there. Staff and management were excellent. These were more like private villas than they were hotel rooms. Rooms were clean and public transportation was easy to access. The boatyard was a $20 taxi or 15min bus ride away. Hamilton was about 25-30min by taxi or closer to 45 by bus or ferry. Willowbank has a small restaurant open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, roughly open 2hrs for each. Limited menu but a quick option when needed. Easy enough to order food delivery as well. It’s a no frills location, no bar or activities other than some kayaks down at the beach for rent. Nice place for a quiet retreat away from the crowds at a very fair nightly rate run by good people. I can’t say enough about waking up to the views. Very helpful to rent a scooter for your stay. It’s more than a short walk for most of the places you’d want to visit.

The moment you arrive at Willowbank a calmness overtakes you. I arrived at the property, due to a medical illness and being required to disembark a cruise ship because of the medical issue. I recuperated for two glorious days in an ocean view room where my body and spirit began to heal. The room enveloped me with natural light and a feeling of peace along with two great nights of sleep. The dining room offers delicious food and I recommend eating on the patio, The staff are so welcoming and accommodating and allowed my stay to be safe and serene. I highly recommend Willowbank for all that it offeres.

Loved the oceanfront room with balcony and lounge and the lovely beach. My only criticism is that the dinner menu could be expanded a little. More importantly, you need more consistency in the quality. Twice I ordered the same roast chicken but got two very different meals, one very good, the other was a bit sub par with only a chiken leg and mashed potatoes on the plate along with a very few veggies. The two chefs need to get on the same page. Dining service was outstanding and the staff, in general, were all wonderful.

Let me start with Ms Gina is nice and sweet such a great help the outside needs work real bad but the views are great abd the beach is nice Dinner was to heavy for us and its really far from the airport cost us $60 pool us outside but not in best condition the bed us comfortable and bathroom was update room just needs a cleaning doors windows etc 2 or less days and youll be fine

The staff was very very nice. They made sure we had rides to and from airport. The resort is not super fancy, but definitely the BEST vacation I have ever been on. It was so quiet and we had the beach to ourselves 5/6 days. We will for sure come back. The view is amazing and the staff went out of their way to make us feel at home. We loved it!!!!

We visited Willowbank for a week and a half and we loved our time there.

There is no bar at the resort, but each room has a fridge and there is ice available from the lobby. We picked up some rum on the way in, and there is a grocery store a short walk or bus ride away for ginger beer, snacks, and sandwich supplies.

Breakfast was great, the lunch and dinner menus were limited, but there is plenty to eat in Somerset Village, Southampton, and at the Royal Dockyard nearby.

The staff was wonderful, and the property itself is beautiful. The view of the sunset is priceless, and the small private ocean beach was perfect for quiet relaxation.

We expect we'll return next summer.

This is an older, modest, well maintained property with beautiful, panoramic views & a lovely staff. 2 very small private beaches, fairly represented on the website. The food is hit & miss - good breakfast, but \"all day menu\" is underwhelming, & the fish sandwich was actually terrible. Without exception, the staff was incredibly nice, but the inattention to detail was pervasive - they meant to call for a taxi but forgot, the oatmeal is advertised with cinnamon & brown sugar but isn't served with it, the sandwich should come with Lays chips but doesn’t, the room should have had a king and chairs outside but didn’t... When we pointed out the ball drops they did everything in their power to correct them & were so nice it was hard to be mad! Bermuda is a lovely but very expensive place - prices are breathtaking for Americans. The Willowbank is modestly priced compared to most. It is a dry property - we didn't care but I don’t remember seeing that anywhere on the website for those who do. It's a little out of the way for taxis, so plan ahead - try to reserve a taxi in advance, especially if you're coming in late to the airport. You can't rent cars, so taxis (undersupply), private drivers, mopeds & very small electric cars are your only options. We rented one of the cars - a Twizzy - and it was hysterical! Speed limit everywhere is 20 mph. Check the Bermudian calendar. We hit a holiday weekend - stores & museums closed & many on Sundays too. We enjoyed our stay & would stay again.

Cute, quiet, and friendly.

The stay over all was good. Staff was friendly. Property is nice.
When booking it said breakfast was included but when given the breakfast menus it was at an additional cost. There was no coffee maker in the room either.
The shuttle service to the airport was also at an additional cost.
The room was nice, but the cleanliness was not great. Lipstick stains on the in room water glasses. Hairs in washroom. Wasn’t horrible, but for the price of the rooms was a little surprising to see.
The room was quiet, and property was easy to navigate. Beautiful view, with a cute small beach.

I liked the location.

I did not like the way the breakfast was handled. I came to the kitchen earlier than the 9:30 a.m. schedule. All I wanted was an English muffin, but I was refused it until 9:30. It wasn't like I had ordered a huge breakfast. However, the next day, the chef/manager treated me very well.

Very pleased to have received a delayed check-out. Situated close to two small ,but very picturesque, beaches. No bar/dining facilities during the day however owing to Covid-19 unless pre-ordered the day in advance

The Willowbank Resort has a beautiful location with 2 small private beaches that are perfect for snorkeling & swimming. Pros- location, the staff- Gina the Manager & her staff are helpful, we only ate 2 times at the hotel and the breakfast was great! Chef Ron and his staff do a great job of setting the atmosphere of your picturesque dining experience.

Bus stops convenient To the hotel and worth purchasing bus passes for a couple days. Please note, however, the bus drivers do go on strike which also affects fairies. They were on strike 2 1/2 days of our visit.

My only issues were that we had to request for the room to be made and cleaned. They did a great job, but don’t expect it to be done without requesting it. This may in all fairness have something to do with the current pandemic. The only other issue that was very disappointing is that on the website Expedia states that this resort includes a continental breakfast, which is false. No Meals are included in the cost. We met another family from PA who also booked on Expedia and also were provided the same false information. Gina did clarify and we made other arrangements to get groceries from a local market very close to the hotel.

Expedia screwed me . I had to pay for an extra night after Expedia refused to acknowledge that I had told them that my flight was delayed and I took the Saturday flight June 12 instead . I contacted my insurance which in turn co tasted Expedia to let them know that my trip which was supposed to take place on June 11- 14 was changed to June 12-15. Expedia refused to acknowledge that . So the hotel charged me for an extra night for the 14.
I will make sure that I do not use Expedia for the future and will post in the social media this incident so that my company and my colleagues and my friends do not use Expedia services anymore

Very friendly staff, not many people as they just opened. Nice pool and beaches. 5 days in to a 7 day stay we were advised of a resort fee er day and what was stated as included continental breakfast was charged as per person additional fee. Also upon checkout, there was confusion as to what was paid through Travelocity and waht was to be paid by me.

The views are stunning. The unique location giving a beach to the south and west means there is always one in the sun. (At high tide there's not much sand though.) The water is clean and warm, and shallow for a long way so would be safe for kids. They redid the beach steps on the ocean side while I was there, but I think the weather does punish the facilities somewhat.
Due to covid and lack of other visitors the hospitality was nil, no bar or restaurant, or maid service, but they reduced my rate accordingly. Its a pleasant 1 mile walk to the grocery store, or 5 min bus ride. But beware, everything is expensive in Bermuda. I felt totally safe, both from covid and nutters.

On the supermarket scale, it's nearly Waitrose - very soft linens and towels, good a/c, TV with tons of channels. But not great sound insulation from neighbour, wall sockets a bit dodgy, a little shabby in places. Location is excellent, with buses passing the front door every 15 mins. About 45 mins to Hamilton. I would definitely stay there again.

On the up side there were few other people there as we were out of season so the beach and place felt like our own. The down side to that was that other than a continental breakfast there was no restaurant on site. We also were there while the Corona virus was \"taking hold\" so we vacated early and weren't offered any refund or credit of any kind... that would've been nice!

Waking up and seeing the ocean

I arrived the week before the borders closed and I was looking for a quiet hotel with WiFi by the sea that I could work from. I really enjoyed being there and I would have happily stayed longer had they not needed to close. Breakfast each day was good, staff were friendly, accommodation was simple but fine. The crystal clear water and private beaches were a 30 second walk to get to. I walked each evening towards Somerset to the grocery store and the pub. I really liked the area and it's natural beauty. I would definitely choose the ocean view room again to keep seeing that view each morning and evening

The thing I liked about the property was that it was very secluded. However the place needs renovation, the tv internet had bad reception. The tub didn’t drain good while taking a shower. And the rooms/ resort smelt musty. They also need to incorporate more things. Exp: the breakfast was basically the same thing each day just two of three different choices changed. Also because of the area they should think of doing a dinner for the guest. It just needs more and than maybe more guest will come. Theirs no private coffee makers I case in your room you want tea or coffee. It just needs more! To me it’s wasted space that could be used more if more ideas was put in to attract more and like I said renovations.

The location is about 30 to 40 mins from the airport but that's was good for me. I love the fact the buses run right outside the property. My view was ocean and that was awesome. Bed was comfortable. Room was clean. Breakfasts was great. I thought it was just gonna be bagels and fruit and maybe waffles but it was pretty decent. Sausage baccon (turkey as well). Sunday is a Bermudian breakfast of cod fish. Staff was nice. View was excellent. Only thing I was surprised with was the housekeeping fee at the end. Maybe I missed it in the fine print. $10.95 a day. What I wish they did have was an offer of water and coffee throughout the day. Yes I would stay again. Oh not much to eat around there but you can wake down a few long blocks to the supermarket and it's a little food shop and dinner. Overall great! Didn't use pool. Not hot enough. Beach was pretty small but perfect if you don't want crowd.
