Lovely B&B.....very friendly host and staff.

Nice clean large room. The fridge was a big bonus. Excellent shower which was much appreciated after a long day walking.
We were led to believe from the hotel.com web site that there is Wifi only in public areas but in fact there was wifi all over the the guest house including the rooms. And it was super fast wifi. I was able watched Netflix on my ipad and all the football matches I wanted to watch.
Moyra (the owner), is a lovely friendly lady, as her staff. Breakfast was fabulous, continental and cooked what ever you choose or both.
We will definitely come back as we have few more walks to complete in the area.
Thank you Moyra for a lovley weekend.

Day before had phone call from owner informing me that the room we were allocated has a toilet problem and we might have to be re allocated a downstairs room if the problem not sorted, luckily it was.
Shower and sink in room kept loosing water and were not warm.
Mentioned to owner the following morning and was told they would be sorted.
Arrived back after day out to a written note on how to keep water running and warm, but it still wasn’t warm and was water was stopping mid use.
Mentioned again at breakfast to owner for any other guests. Owner mentioned that staff levels were down.
Breakfast was really nice and fulfilling, staff were very friendly and chatty.

Reviewed bearing the price point in mind.

Likes: This located very close to the Brecon peaks including Pen Y Fan, so it's an ideal hikers stopover. More than adequate rooms including fridge, hairdryer and ironing board plus good storage and a bath for a soak after your day's walking. Friendly staff.

Dislikes: Old building so condensation is an issue (in our room 3 at least). The Internet was down when we arrived, due to a road accident the night before. Admittedly this was not the fault of the B&B but, as neither of us had mobile signal, this made planning our next day impossible. This is pretty trivial for most people but, if the proprietor had informed us we could have chosen to stay elsewhere and avoid not having one of the amenities that we paid for. Business travellers rely on hotel Internet access, so this could have been critical.

Easy check in—keys and instructions left for me, so since I arrived before the office opened, I could let myself in and settle in. The location, on a loop road just off the main road, is quiet and safe from traffic, and affords lovely views toward the Llwyn On reservoir, a short walk away, and along the ridge behind the house. Easy access to trails, and by car or bus to places further away (Brecon, notably). There's a bus stop right at the road. Classic and generous breakfast options (incl. vegan). Very comfy bed, nice bathroom, and everything one needs en suite for tea or coffee, and biscuits. Moyra and the staff were delightful, ready to help as needed.

Visiting Merthyr to visit friends our our way home from a road trip around England, Scotland & Wales.
Large comfortable rooms, very friendly staff, great location.
200 year old house, well cared for, modernised and equipped to a very high standard.
My Mother had poor mobility and was accommodated very well with a spacious ground floor room.
Our room on the first floor was very comfortable too. Full size and very deep bath. Plenty of pillows and towels available, no need to ask for anything.
Lovely communal areas if you wanted to sit with others.
Breakfast was fantastic, plenty and good selection.

Llwyn Onn Guest House suited me for the brief two night stay Staff were polite and helpful. Breakfast had a good choice of a continental type or a cooked breakfast.
The location was peaceful and close to some stunning scenery on the edge of the Brecon National Park, ideal for walking and outdoor adventures.
Sadly I found my mattress was somewhat uncomfortable which resulted in a poor night's sleep. It would also have been helpful to be notified that a pin board beside the front door had the information for booking in prior to arriving at the venue.

Such an amazing little stay right nearby Pen y fan and the four waterfalls walk. The location and guest house was incredibly peaceful with wonderfully friendly staff who are more than happy to help.

Stayed here a few times now for work and for mtb trips. Comfortable and clean with friendly staff. Breakfast is great, sets us up well for a days biking. Great parking and secure storage. Only downside is you have to travel into town for dinner but other than that a great place, will be back again.

2 nights stay and Absolutely amazing. Perfect location for Pen Y Fan only about 15 mins drive away and at the foothill there is a free car park, then about hour trek uphill with breaks, opportunity to trek further if you feel like it. We didn’t know so didn’t come equipped with some snacks and extra water. It’s worth it once you’re up there to explore further. Recommend good trekking shoes although I did it in my trainers and it was ok. Some loose rocks on the path but overall not as bad as I initially thought. Now the accommodation: what a lovely and warm welcome from the owner, Moyra, she gave us plenty of tips on where to go and places to eat. Full welsh breakfast in the morning that kept us going. Lovely clean and comfortable accommodation with free WiFi which we were grateful for as there is bad reception in the area. Also lovely and friendly staff, very attentive, professional yet warm. Car park on site. There was a fridge in the room which was very handy to chill drinks because there was a heatwave on our stay, however rooms were comfortable at nigh we've had a great sleep. Also little tip, if you’re lucky enough with good weather, we went star gazing at night by the reservoir. What a lovely trip we had!! What really made it special was the warmth of the owner and her staff. God bless

We had a very nice stay at Llwyn Onn Guest House for 6 nights. It has an excellent location, not far from the waterfalls and other trails and also town centre, it is also just a few minutes drive from the car park for Pen y Fan and Corn Du. It is surrounded by lovely nature and the reservoir is only short walk away.

It’s cosy and really clean B&B owned by the lovely Moyra, who is always there for you making sure you have everything you need. All the staff are also very friendly. The most friendly people we’ve met in Wales.

It doesn’t have a restaurant (for evening meals) but the included breakfast is very good and made to order. For evening meals, there is plenty of pubs in the area only about 10 min. drive away. Or you can order a take-away if you like and use the facilities to eat it at. It has nice garden where you can chill out too.

I find some of the reviews complaining about the fact there is no restaurant on site absolutely ridiculous to be honest. The town is only few minutes drive and there are plenty of choices if you don’t want to go into local pubs. We particularly liked The New Crown Inn in Merthyr.

I can’t recommend this guest house enough. If you’re looking for a nice and peaceful place in a great location with nice surroundings, this is definitely the right place for you.

We had the executive double which has a nice view of the adjacent gardens and mountains. The room was neat and had a good sized fridge which was handy for making our packed lunches. The breakfasts were very nice and all the staff were lovely and we felt very welcome and looked after.

As an overnight stop on the road to/from Cardiff it is very convenient. Ample easy parking.

Had a room with 2 single beds, nice and clean; the bed was on castors and moved around when trying to sit on it, comfortable enough though, good linen and pillows.

Bathroom spotlessly clean although tiles around the bath could do with upgrade if I was to be picky. Shower gel provided (no soap).

Location surprisingly peaceful considering the busy A470 just in front of the guest house.

No pubs within walking distance and had tried to arrange a dinner reservation before arriving as it was a bank holiday and knew it would be busy however the owner would not provide a list ahead of time for us to do so which meant we found it really tricky to find somewhere to eat within close proximity. Lovely grounds and accomodation. The place serves breakfast, however you have to go somewhere else for anything besides breakfast.
Very clean and comfortable.The room was quite scented when we got there, and we asked that they not use scented products for our room during our stay, which they complied with. We appreciated that!
