Fantastic location.

Staff was very helpful. I forgot my charger and had to go back and get it and they had it set aside for me and recognised me immediately. Room was small but well appointed. Fantastic building right by the bridge and falls.

Very welcoming and friendly staff. We enjoyed our stay there. It was a great place to stay whilst my husband and son climbed Snowden there was still things to do for those that didn't. Would recommend this hotel.

When I arrived at 9pm with my wife and two young children (1 & 2 yr old) I was told we could not stay together in the same room (booked a double for 2 nights) and would need to book an additional room. I explained it wasn’t possible due to my wife being over 9 months pregnant and possibly going into labor at any moment. Still they insisted we book a second room; however, agreed to refund one night if we didn’t stay. We left to find another hotel and they later reneged on the refund and charged for 2 nights. We were there a total of 30 minutes and I’m so glad we left! The Royal Oak hotel down the road was perfect (we stayed in one room) and the service was phenomenal. Not to mention they have an award-winning breakfast included with the room. Last time we book a 6.6 rated Inn!

The staff at the inn are friendly and attentive. Location is perfect. Unfortunately the place is dirty and expensive for what they offer. I stopped for 3 nights with my son but only because all the other local hotels had no vacancies. The bathroom in the room was dirty the handle in the toilet broken. Lamp had missing bulbs, the rooms are not serviced every day, windows are dirty and don’t really open. Coffee cups in the room were dirty upon checking in … the all place needs a good scrub. There was a life music every night in the pup garden just below our windows so after a day of hiking we couldn’t get any rest at all . I completely understand the entertainment in the pub but if so rooms should be soundproof so gusts can have a dictate sleep. The worst place I have ever stoped in

The property is so lovely we have been there many times over the years and again cannot complain breakfast area and rooms so clean and tidy staff were lovely nothing too much trouble unfortunately the pub side wasn't open but hopefully next time when we go but still cannot fault my stay there and didn't let it get us down the room we stayed in with a lovely four poster bed was a bonus

Staff were lovely and the breakfast was great, but communication in advance not great e.g parking is not available, and you can either find a free spot on the street but this can be quite far away from the hotel or there is a paid car park across the bridge. We also tried to call the hotel but the phone number on Expedia and the one on their website doesn’t work so was a bit concerning. No lift and we were lucky that we were only one flight of stairs up

It was in a nice town. But no Parking even when I searched properties with parking in my filters. Windows in room open could not close and dirty window sill. SEarch engine was at fault about parking it seemed. The had also lost there licence so could only offer breakfast no food or drinks at any other time. Noisy as window did not close and on main A5 road through town. Staff were helpful with allergies ( Gluten) were knowledgeable.

Filthy room and toilet, someone was smoking weed in the building. Fire exit to the main road left open entire day and night. Bed cushions had dirty stains. Broken door lock and toilet roll holder in toilet. Damp poring from the ceiling on the wall causing musty smell. Stained carpet, cigarette butt . Very filthy and disgusting. Health and safety risk.

Hotel itself was closed due to staff issues . However other than the bar and restaurant not being available it didn't impact on our stay but it might have been nice to have been made aware and given the choice to visit or not . The breakfast was very tasty and service friendly and we enjoyed our stay . We had stayed there a year before as well. Will retun in the future .

Fealty Towers!

The hotel was tired looking, in need of a good clean. Our window sill had detritus over it, dead bugs and dust! The shared shower room was left with used shampoo/shower wash on the floor. As no bin was available. The breakfast poor along with the service. On the plus side it was cheap and thankfully only stayed one night.

honest fair review

was ok to get your head down but wasn't clean was told to choose what was easiest for them for breakfast and then the wrong thing came out anyway dog had scratched all the paint off doors obviously been left in room as skirting boards were all chewed overwhelming smell of cooking oil generally quite run down the phone was cut off on the two days before our stay so couldn't confirm or check anything and previous to that left emails and messages repeatedly in the three weeks before the stay and never got an answer when i did ring through

Not the cheapest place but a cheap place. Nothing I saw said no on-site parking, the landline didn't answer for advice and parking was not close. When you got to the door you had to ring a mobile to ask the \"receptionist\" to come to the door - from wherever they were - to open up. In the room the windows for the bedroom and bathroom were open, immediately you know this is going to be a hot room. Hot water from the tap took ages to hit temperature. It's a shabby place. There's no reception service. An early breakfast was accommodated but 7:30 is not early in my books. It feels someone owns this to milk it for minimal effort. In this town it should serve the guests better or charge half as much. Really the worst budget places I have ever stayed in.

Need some work done to the rooms

When we arrived we had to call someone to let us in, the entrance smelt like a chip fat fryer, we then went up to our room and it smelt clean and the bed linen was clean, just unfortunate the bin had not been emptied from previous stay and we found rubbish under the bed as well, the rooms definitely need some work done to them, the mattress has seen better days as they caved in the middle, the breakfast was nice so no complaints about that and the staff were friendly it is an ideal location for Snowdon and Zipworld.

The place was run down and dirty

Arrived thinking the bar and restaurant would be open downstairs. I asked the staff why they where closed, i turned out they didn't have a licence anymore, although it specified a bar and restaurant in the description. Where do I start with the room. There was no hot water from the taps, dog hair in a ball on the floor, stains on the wall's and ceilings, and human hair on the tiles in the bathroom. I also had to pay cash because the card machine was broken. £90 for a night, save your money.

The inn is in desperate need of renovations. The pictures featured in the advertising are obviously rather old and do not represent the current standard or decor and repair. The premise has an unpleasant damp smell and this was during a very hot period. Ceiling showed signs of damp. The rooms had stained walls from fluids which seem to have been splashed on them and not cleaned. In general the inn does not appear to be looked after. A further point for anyone considering on staying the staff smoke outside the main front door which percolates into the dining area and via our open window at the front of the property. On some good points the breakfast was good and the staff very pleasant.

Lovely 3 night stay with lovely owners too xxx

Read a few reviews before staying here and was a bit apprehensive about it but we arrived was greeted warmly felt very homely straight away, room smelt fresh walking in, 32inch tv in room, compy beds, excellent breakfast they can actually cook eggs perfectly, the owners were really nice too felt like i was at home there! Feel bad for them not having thier licence so the bar is not open but i kind of liked it with it not being rowdey and had a nice peaceful sleep since we was up early for walks each day which was not the case in the bunkhouse down the road had a lot of loud young people staying since we stopped by there for a drink we stayed for 1 drink and left with all the young groups shouting. Overall we had a really nice stay here we was very happy and at a very good price too can't complain with what we got for the price thanks and we will definitely be seeing you again for another stay 🙂

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

The hotel was so grotest we left and were offered a full refund that we never received.

We were delayed hours from checking in, a lady called to explain someone else was in our room by mistake so it would have to be cleaned due to covid. We delayed until 7:30 pm approx as more or less instructed.

We then found our room with paint peeling off, it looked like somewhere out of a horror film. The hall way leading to the room was vile. The toilet seat was smeared with feaces all over the lid. There was no way we would eat food at this dirty place or have breakfast there. The pub downstairs was closed and looked like it had been for a few days.

Sadly the lady who took our money, then claimed she could not issue a refund. I was asked to phone someone who said to leave my account number, sort code and expiry date at reception which at this point was unmanned as the lady had gone home.

I had to drive 30 mins to find another hotel, and pay for it. Please can you help with a refund, I can provide photo evidence and text messages to them.

No one should have to go though this.

I don’t like giving bad reviews but the hotel is old, run down and not clean (would have expected better during COVID-19). Black mould in shower tiles and shower door. The carpet stairs is filthy and should be replaced with something that isn’t carpet. The hotel is in need of a total refurb and clean.

Great location but the pub was like something out of the Wild West movies....all the locals congregate for a late night drink in there which results in fight after fight! Police called etc! Fun to watch never the less. Oh and the breakfast was awful. Apart from that everything was fine!

I didnt think for the price it was value for money. The room could do with redecorating and the bathroom also updated. At least put a lock on the bathroom door.

Lots of noise until midnight in the pub, including music which i didnt think was allowed under current restrictions. We heard a fight break out in the pub about midnight suggesting they dont control their customers

Room was poor very basic and decoration was bad. Shower was dangerous, cold then scorching hot. Not addressed during stay.
Expensive for what was provided. More like a 2 star hikers accommodation. One day room not even cleaned.
Bed really uncomfortable.
Overall a good location but very tired accommodation.

Problem with booking as we ended up in a room without en-suite, though not hotels fault and the owner Sonja was very helpful looking for alternate accommodation and looking after us. Overall a good stay. I’d recommend, though be sure you get an en-suite room if that is what you booked!

Great Stay In Betws-Y-Coed

The staff were friendly and helpful, check in was smooth, room was a good size with everything I needed, although the pressure on the shower was a little low but not the end of the world.
The Inn is in a great location for local walks, using public transport for getting up to Snowdon and surrounding area
