I was honestly suprised by this little Gem !
Me and my wife climbed snowdonia and then we arrived here exhausted.. in pain but was greeting by such a lovely gentleman who asked us about our climb, showed us to our room and the amenities, dining options etc the room was lovely and was equiped with everything we need the shower was hot and clean the room was toasty with additional geating options and further more the beds were comfy and clean ! Id happily stay here again and plan to do so soon

Richard is very much the 'Host with the Most'. Very chatty and friendly, and knowledgeable about the area. He went above and beyond for us...Carrying our cases up to the top floor...And down again when we left. Plus he does a cracking packed lunch.
Our room was more than adequate, comfy and clean.
The only gripe from our point of view is that we'd prefer proper cups and spoons...

Lovely guest house with a warm and welcoming host!… very much enjoyed my stay and everything was perfect. Cosy and comfortable clean room, with all the necessary facilities (plenty of tea/coffee/milk/sugar) to make many cups! Not like hotels in which you’re lucky to get 2.

The room was nice and warm, with extra radiators which I was thankful for as I do feel the cold easy, so I felt very cosy!
Bed was comfortable and shower was nice and hot. No dips in water temperature. Nice touch with mini shampoo/body washes.

The picnic breakfasts included were brilliant!
They consisted of banana, cereal bar, yoghurt, chocolate muffin and an orange juice box, which was perfect for me - especially when on the go! 👌
There is also a little kitchen/breakfast area downstairs which consisted of cutlery/plates etc for your personal use. A microwave, and extra tea/coffee/sugar/milk, bottled water (you also receive this in your room, and diluted juice.

The area is quiet, there are some pubs around the village, and the drive to this guest house is beautiful!… If you are looking to explore the area, it’s in a fantastic location for biking/walking/hiking.

You receive a key for your room and one for the front door, which is very useful when coming in late at night, so you don’t disturb anyone and let yourself in.

I was very impressed for the price!

Fantastic comfy bed, but tired overall

We had a nice stay, loved the bed, so comfy! Super quiet location even though it was a main road and a Friday night, although we had a room at the back which probably helped. Packed breakfast was nice and convenient too. TV didn't work when we got there even with Richard helping, but eventually we managed to get bbc 1+2 later in the evening, so I'd advise you take a fire stick or just watch your phone. I was a bit disappointed there wasn't the advertised coffee machine in the room, especially as the property name even includes the words 'coffee shop', although there were some lovely cafes locally so it didn't really matter. Bathroom was huge but freezing and the shower was absolutely tiny and a bit awkward to use (and we are both very slim!) and was disappointing in a bathroom of that size, and for the most expensive room in the house :( Also the curtains were thin so the room was quite bright at night, especially with the security lights, and lead to a very interrupted sleep. The place just felt a bit sad/tired and old fashioned overall really, which was a shame as we went for a special birthday.

The house is in a great location; central to most things in the town although we didn't get around to looking for a pub so can't advise there. There's a lovely cafe shop Tŷ Coffi Antur 'Stiniog 2 mins walk down the road with a Co-op store directly behind it, plus a handy mini Morrisons literally opposite the accomodation. Zip world is 5 mins up the road, and super easy to find.

We had a lovely stay at Isallt Guest House. It’s an ideal place to stay after a day of fun at Zip World Caverns (literally a 5 minute drive - if that). Richard was very warm and welcoming, and the hotel itself is clean and beautiful. It’s right near a train station but was very quiet and calm (there must be great soundproofing!). The grab & go breakfast bag was ideal for us. Highly recommend staying here, thanks for a lovely stay.

It was wonderful to see the steam trains directly below - quite fascinating. There was dust around the toilet area and inside the wardrobe where the hangers were - other than that it was clean and tidy. Everything was explained to me on arrival. Next time I will book for breakfast as the one I had in town was just 'ok'. Thank you

Having car parking and a terrace is a definite plus, room was clean and well supplied with good towels and toiletries and good linen.
Host Richard was helpful and pleasant , will definitely stay again on my next visit to see my son.
Unfortunately the town was partly shut due to end of season and evening meals other than takeaways difficult to find.

Clean comfy guest house, fantastic location to attractions and walks,snowdonia is only 40mins away. Breakfast was a snatch bag fruit yogurts breakfast bar muffins and fruit juice ideal for early starters to pick up on way out from 6am or eat in breakfast room.

This guest house was really great value. We stayed for two nights in September. It was a bit chilly outside in the evening and came back after dinner to a warm and peaceful room. The beds were very comfortable and the room was very clean. The host was very helpful and welcoming. We would definitely stay again.

We had a great stay in the upstairs room with the bay windows. Richard, the host, was very accommodating and friendly. The water pressure wasn't great, but we just adjusted the time to allow for a longer shower. Everything else was great; and you can't find a better location to the train station! Breakfast was simple and good. Overall, a very nice value.

When we checked in, it was probably an attic conversion. No Windows apart from roof top ones. Bath was smelling awful. Probabaly the room was not ventillated probably. We got in touch with the manager to change the room but as i we have booked through hotel.com he said this is what it is and it was fully booked and he cant help it.Mnager was not very helpful.
Breakfast takeaway was not good at all. we would like to have a hot breakfast at the premises. On our second day of the stay we did not take any break fast away.
As we requested the room to be cleaned and it was done. we were happy.
overall the whole house was smelly ,no fresh air or ventilation the time we stepped in. Would not recommend for any one to stay their again.Very uncofortable for us, not a very pleasant stay and a good experience for us.

Such a lovely stay!!! Strategic position if you intend to visit Snowdonia, with easy parking and a supermarket at 2min walking distance. Richard is very kind and knowledgeable about the area! Bonus points for the breakfast area where there's a microwave and cutlery available to use for dinner/late snack ordered in or bought from the coop. 👍 Even the breakfast was really nice! Definitely recommended :)

Nice guesthouse perfect for exploring the North of Wales.
The village was quite and a lot was closed up, however the owner of the guesthouse was very helpful with suggestions for places to eat etc.
The guesthouse was clean and warm with a comfortable bed that’s all we needed after our adventures out & about.

Lovely host and bnb!

A lovely bnb and Richard was an excellent host! He helped me find a good spot for me to park my motorcycle and was willing to move his vehicles if need be. He has excellent knowledge of the area and prompted me to go explore Cwmorthin village nearby when I arrived - definitely a must-do! An excellent 7-mile round trip (approximately 3 hours of walking). He drew a map and gave good directions.

The room is very comfortable and easy to heat up with the electric heater. The bathroom has a lovely electric shower. The rooms are cleaned thoroughly and supplies are replenished. Breakfast is a packed option which is incredibly handy and meant I had plenty of flexibility in terms of leaving as early as I would like. Plenty of parking for cars available and it's very close to the attractions. There's also a convenience store across the road for any picnic food etc. Covid-19 cleanliness etc was taken seriously and was reassuring to see. There is also a bookshelf with board games which is nice - I read a book from there during my stay.

The town is convenient for all parts of Snowdonia national park and I was able to explore the area quite comfortably over two days. Plenty to see and do if you are an intrepid explorer such as myself! Take good walking boots and waterproofs and you're golden.

I did not give full happy face only because weather was well, British Summer style. And most of shops sites closing around 17. Thanks to recent political/medical situation it wasn't easy to get literally anywhere without Booking. The Place I will give 8 out of 10. Highly recommend.

We stayed at Isallt Guest House for 6 nights to explore North Wales. We were greated on arrival by Richard Hope, he was friendly and welcoming. It was great to be able to ask a local where the best beaches were. Richard also provided a fantastic evening meal, the food was delicious, you could tell Richard was an experienced chef, no surprise to learn he had previously worThe room was spotless and cleaned daily between 11 and 1. The room had comfortable beds, good facilities with ample storage, a fridge, microwave and hairdryer. Towels were changed as required a sign was clearly displayed in bathroom to explain system. This beautiful Victorian building is situated at the Blaenau Ffestiniog rail station, central location for the many attractions such as the zip world slate mine, beaches, portmerion etc. The village has convenience stores, bakers and selection of takeaway restaurants.

Average experience, can't say it was a very comfortable stay, room clean but had an awful old smell to it, and the breakfast that was included was nothing but a 35 pence orange juice and a 2 for 1 pound muffins with a banana and a belvita,not really the full English breakfast you would expect.
