It was a nice stay at Hotel Tourist. The room was clean and comfortable. It is located about a 5 min walk from the train station and about a 10 min walk to the main town center. A good breakfast is provided each morning. The only issue I can report is that they had turned off the air conditioning unit which includes the fan so you were not able to control that from your room as it showed on the screen that the controls had been disabled. Even though my stay was the end of October into the first week of November, there were a couple of days where during the middle of the day it became quite warm in the room with absolutely no air movement because of the disabled aircon unit. It really would not have needed the air conditioning running but just a fan to move some air around. I did have to go into town and purchase a small fan. It was comfortable in the evening after the sun went down, but several days during my stay If you came back to the room during midday it was uncomfortable. Other than that it was a pleasant stay and I would stay here again. Many places around Europe and Asia. I have found that regardless if when you are booking it states air conditioning they control it for cost saving.

We loved our stay at Hotel Tourist. Check in was quick and easy and reception staff were always friendly and happy to help. Our room was very comfortable and clean. It has great facilities, we loved the pool and also the pool bar. It’s perfectly situated for everything. It’s a very short walk to the train station and coach stop, and only a bit further into the town centre, so everything you need for food, shopping and wider travel is very accessible. The area felt very safe as well. We would absolutely recommend Hotel Tourist.

They shouldn’t speak of the guest in Italian thinking we don’t understand! I was born in Italy! Rude!!!!! I ran down three flight of stairs to tell someone people were stuck in elevator ( my husband being one of them). I told gentlemen about it and he didn’t even acknowledge me!!!

This hotel is in an excellent location. Staff super friendly. Room was good. My only issue, I dropped a slice of pizza on the sheets and the next day when they cleaned the room, they didn’t switch out the sheet! That’s unacceptable, in my opinion. I can understand being cheap, but that takes it to a whole new level! Very disappointed in that. Would stay there again, though because of location. Metro just around the corner

very average hotel, with average breakfast and average staff, and only got a three from me due to its close proximity to the train station.

Reception staff were very matter of fact and a bit more friendliness wouldnt go amiss, one of the hotel owners was there on an evening a few times when we returned to the hotel, and he was surly at best and didnt make any effort to engage.

I can understand why there have been negative reviews about the breakfast. There is a small menu where you can pre order eggs etc, but when the hotel is full, as it was when we were there the staff are unable to cope. Not only do they have to wait and clean tables but also cook eggs , omlettes etc and basically cant cope which leads to a poorer breakfast experience. After 9am, it can be hard to get a table which doesnt help. The organje juice in the machine isnt repleniched , but they have a fair selection of cakes and breakfasts although more variety of bread and fruit would be good.

Didnt use the pool area, as found it very small with little atmosphere.

Room was small but had very little syorage space. The shower was small too, and the way the toilet seat was affixed was just odd. Sheets were marked, although were clean, but sould not have been used. No fridge in the room, which is definitely required in the summer heat, and there is a 2 euro charge for ice.

Absolutely loved this hotel. We had a balcony facing the road which was very entertaining. We enjoyed watching the vespas, cars and pedestrians. Parking was just up the street and was safe and clean. Breakfast was fresh and tasty. Excellent location and wonderful staff. Highly recommend this hotel.

Great location close to the train station about a 5-minute walk. Overall the place was good to sleep at, nothing fancy, a bit dated. The bed wasn't overly comfortable but it was fine for a short few days. If you just need a place to sleep and don't need anything fancy this place is fine for it. The washroom was clean but could use a little bit of CLR. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast I would stay there again was good, they had a mixture of pastries and me to order eggs.

I stayed in the single room, which was pretty basic, but was quiet at night and comfortable. The breakfast was quite limited and not brilliant, but nice to have as an option.

I'm not an expert on Sorrento, but after comparing prices across town, it's clear the area is touristy and expensive no matter what. That said, this place was not worth the price. The room was basic, clean, and fine, but nowhere near worth what I paid per night.

The bathroom deserves zero stars. The shower had black mold in the grout and tiles, but the worst part was the shower spout was caked in mold—something I’ve never seen, even in much cheaper accommodations. I should have asked to change rooms or get it cleaned, but that’s not really my style.

I didn’t have much interaction with the staff since I was out all day, but they seemed friendly in the brief exchanges we had.

If you're younger, traveling solo, or just need a place to sleep, I'd suggest finding something cheaper, even if it’s further from the center. I needed to be near the marina for travel, but in hindsight, it might have been better to stay right on the marina or at a beach club if you're going to splurge anyway. If you want to save more and don’t mind navigating bus schedules, consider staying in the mountains or further south and walking.

If you're staying here because it seems like a cheaper option, skip the breakfast. The food was terrible, and the coffee came from a machine. It’s clearly catered to British and American tourists craving an \"English Breakfast,\" but the quality was bad. Save your money and grab a proper espresso and pastry at a local bar for under 5 euros.

A really good location. Just around the corner, around a 5 minute walk, to the train and bus station which was very handy for day and airport trips. Everything is on 1 straight road from the hotel so about a 10/15 minute walk you are in the centre of Sorrento, but there are so many shops and restaurants on the walk. The hotel was lovely and clean. The room was a lot more spacious than I thought. Aircon and safe included which was needed with the heat outside! Staff on reception were lovely and the room was cleaned daily. Will definitely be returning.

The gardens in the back are surprisingly extensive and very lovely, with various fruit trees and flowers. The traffic noise from the street makes the front rooms not so quiet at nice, but it is better than loud people/restaurants. The front desk staff were helpful for reserving cars. Very good experience overall.

The hotel is walkable from all the main attractions in Sorrento and very close to the train station. Easy experience all around.

The only good thing about the property is the location. I asked for a room on the quieter side of the hotel but our room was facing the street and it was so loud on the weekend. Worst of all was the state of the bathroom. There was mold in the very tight shower which had a plastic head, toilet wasn’t cleaned properly and there was a smell every time you used the sink. The pool and the area seemed clean although we didn’t get a chance to use it. Won’t recommend. Not sure why Expedia has this hotel under a three star. We went to a three star hotel in Napoli and it was a five star compared to this. Max one star.

The hotel was nice enough, for the price I would say it was actually better than I expected however there was an EXTREMELY rude waiter at the breakfast each morning who would yell at us or talk down to us when trying to order and made our experience very uncomfortable. It’s unfortunate that one person can really tarnish your whole experience, but starting our day on that note really put a negative spin on our whole stay.

The hotel is well situated on Corso Italia and walkable to train station and Piazza Tasso. My room was comfortable and reasonably equipped, altho no fridge. There was a small balcony overlooking a number of apartment buildings. The TV was almost entirely local channels in Italian plus CNN & BBC. Staff were uniformly pleasant and always with a smile. Breakfast was heavy on sweets, but healthier options were available on the menu without charge. Overall, a good choice for a 3* property near the center of town.

Great base to explore Sorrento from.

Great location - only a short walk from the pedestrian centre of town. Very friendly staff, very clean and a lovely pool with a citrus grove out the back.
Downsides are that the decor is a little dated (few signs of wear and tear but nothing to complain about).
The road noise is in line with big cities but those buzzy little scooters can be annoying so if you’re a light sleeper, bring ear plugs if your room is at the front.
Good selection of dishes at breakfast and a tasty cappuccino.
Pool bar very well staffed and very reasonable pricing.

Beautiful hotel, but the staff was less than pleasant. The front desk staff was pretty rude. One man was frustrated with me and yelled at me because I did not speak Italian but he spoke English. Also, the room is set to 77°F (25°C) which is pretty warm for 90°F weather.

The hotel is conveniently placed near the town’s center and is within walk distance from most places. The train is nearby and the hotel is very clean. Shopping is also nearby too.

The location is great, just by the train station. I had two single rooms - one for me and my son. They were small as expected but very functional and clean. The breakfast was ok I guess for a three star hotel and included which was great. There are very few hotels where you get a single for half the price of a double which for me was fantastic. The pool was very nice and the pool area really nicely done. There is a small bar serving among other things draft beer. It wasn’t very cold which given the heat was a shame. The pool attendant / barman was I felt a bit rude. Silly point but on returning my towel on both occasions he walked passed my empty handed and ignored me asking where I should return the towel to. I know it’s a minor point but he could easily have taken it with a smile. Small things but it has made me down grade my review. Otherwise it was great and good value for money.

Pool bar waiter was excellent and made great cocktails. Room was made every day and clean towels. Safe was provided too. Buses and train just two blocks away ideal for touring area.

The room was a very good size, well laid out with large bathroom. The bathroom however was dirty. On my first night, I went to reception to complain and was told the cleaner would clean it the next day. Again, that night I complained again as it still wasn’t clean. Also the shower head was filthy dirty and the water was a mere dribble. I must say though, this was quickly changed when I complained again. My room was on the road side of hotel and as hotel sits on a busy junction it was incredibly noisy overnight. Breakfast was well catered for as needed gluten free and rest of food looked lovely. One thing I must add is I felt very safe in the hotel, an important factor when travelling solo. I wouldn’t recommend though.

The hotel was good and i would have given a better review but for 2 issues with the same person on reception at night. I had asked for a price for airport transfer, the man on reception mentioned it would be around 95 euros but he would check and let me know later in the evening. We returned later and the night receptionist gave me a price of 155 euros, i declined it (lots of cheaper alternatives) and went to my room. As i entered my room he rang and asked if 130 euros was ok (25 less) i still declined it as it seemed he was trying to make a few euros off me.
The next evening i wanted to make sure i had the correct money for the city tax as we were leaving at 5am. The same night receptionist was on and he told me the city tax would be 51.50 euros and I could pay him in the morning. In my room I tried to work out how he got it to 51.50 as 4 people ( 1child) for 7 nights did not work out.
In the morning on check out he again asked for 51.50 euros. I questioned the price and asked what the city tax was and he confirmed it was 1.50 euros per person per night (child excluded) so i used the calculator on my phone and pointed out it was 31.50 euros not 51.50 and he just noded and said yes thats right !!
Other than that all the other staff were excellent and very good at their jobs, just a shame one person can spoil the whole experiance.

Definitely stay again.

Loved that this was in the heart of sorrento. Thought it little nosy in day time. Soon as windows shut at night it was grand. Price you pay for the handy ness of being central. Near shops pubs restaurants even a fruit shop.
Breakfast had all the things you need. Eggs bacon buns and cakes lol.
Staff friendly and happy and always willing to help.
Guys at breakfast even new I had cappuccino with breakfast. Seen me and got it without even asking. Great service.
Tours and advice on hand. Supermarket behind hotel was very reasonable. Over all if I go back to sorrento I’ll be staying here. Rooms clean and looked fine. Maids came everyday. Clean towels everyday. Bathroom old fashioned but as is everything in Italy. But it was spotless. Definitely a option for anyone looking to stay in sorrento. Thanks again. I’ll be back.

The hotel is close to the main streets and every thing is within walking distance. There is a lot of back ground traffic noise but does not distract from from the hotel.This is one of the drawbacks of the centre location. We never hired a car but the train and ferries are easy to use.

First impression of the property was great. Really nice staff and well presented foyer. On arrival at our room, we found the bedroom to be clean and tidy but the en-suite was terrible. Thick black mould lined the silicone around the bottom of the shower screen & the tiled floor was badly stained black. The cleaner would leave the fresh floor mat over the worst of the mould each day in an attempt to hide it. The sink leaked water onto the floor constantly.

The wifi was too slow to use, there was no bar fridge and the a/c didn’t work, meaning we slept with windows open and were exposed to all the cigarette smoke of the smokers on their very close balconies.

Our room didn’t seem to fit the rest of the property as the pool looked great, the restaurant was beautiful and the staff extremely friendly.

It's a bit away from the main tourist area but it's an easy walk into town and the rail/bus station. Great free breakfast in the morning and excellent service. Only issue was my tv didn't work, but my previous two hotels didn't even have TVs so no big deal for me, i downloaded some shows on my tablet before i left home. Wifi was generally excellent except my last of five days it was off and on.

When we checked in we were informed we would have to check out on our last day and change hotels for our last night. The hotel had maintenance planned and they couldnt have guests. This was never mentioned to us and we didnt have any warning when booking the hotel. We had to cancel plans to accommodate checking out and switching hotels. We also asked multiple times that if we went to the new hotel would our room be ready to check into. We were told yes. We got to the new hotel and the rooms werent ready at all.

The breakfast was extremely simple and not worth the extra money for it. Staff didnt refill items that were empty even though there was over an hour left of breakfast.

The room was okay but didnt feel very clean. It was very old and the bathroom was extremely small.

Paid extra for a balcony which was very small and overlooked a parking lot. Another of our group who hadn't paid for a balcony got a big terrace area off their room. Had to fight school kids for breakfast. No refrigerator in room. Nice pool area but pool was closed for swimming.

Great low priced conveniently located hotel

I was very happy with this hotel. The hotel and room were clean, the staff friendly and helpful and the location was ideal. It is within walking distance from train station, central town and the port. For those that don't want to deal with taxi's and buses to get to and from your hotel this is a great option. The price I paid was also very good for what we got.

Great location, but not the most comfortable stay

I travel a lot and this was not my best trip. I tried to coordinate day trips in advance with hotel but was told that i could do that at hotel. I would have rather had a plan in advance or at least know what was available as I was only there a few days. Front desk staff were not overly friendly or helpful. Breakfast was good and service was pleasant. My room faced the street which was loud all night long, I had been told I would have a garden view but that never happened. The interior walls were thin as well, I woke up to hear house keeping staff walking in the halls in the morning, of course if footsteps are loud one could also hear everyone/anyone talk, I actually checked to be sure my patio door and room door were clsoed because sounds were unmuffled....The AC was on the fritz the first night and kept turning off all night....not comfortable in the summer! When I told them in the morning that there was an error code they said they were aware and it would be fixed, it was better the next night/cool but my room was never cold.The pool was nice and the man that worked out there was very friendly and his customer service was the best thing about the hotel. Location was good and it is a close walk to the train/bus station, shopping, food, beach ect.

Great showers and air conditioning, room cleaned every day, short walk to Plazza Tasso. Good choice for breakfast, scrambled eggs were lovely. Toaster not quick but never are anywhere in the world.

Very Welcoming on my arrival, and always when I went to collect my room key. Great service in the Breakfast room, at the Pool side, and in the Bar area at Reception - covered 24hrs. I had a single room, which was a good size, with plenty of storage for my 6 night stay. Everything I needed, Hot water, Hairdryer, enough power points, a desk, and plenty of hangers, Plus good Wifi. Very clean, and well serviced throughout my stay, the Room Ladies always smiling with happy greetings when they saw you. All public areas well presented, clean, and tidy. Great selection at breakfast, with Hot items available at the Buffet plus Boiled Eggs - Omelette with various fillings, Fried and Scrambled Eggs available to order. Good Coffee, and various Teas. NB: Lift to all floors. No Tea/Coffee making facilities in the room. 15mins walk to Piazza Tasso, about the same to the Bus Station which is sometimes used by Tour Operators for Pick Up/Drop Off.

Very nice staff and extremely friendly guys who work in the dining room. You need to have your key plugged into the wall in order to have access to electricity in your room. The shower is compact so good luck bending down if you drop something. Bed was comfy until I went to lay down with the duvet and it smelt like an old man’s body odour. I guess they wash the sheets but not the duvet. Breakfast buffet was amazing and so was dinner.

It was a nice experience to be at Tourist Hotel. Close to station . The hotel was nice area close to everything. Josseppe and Salvatore were very nice and served us breakfast with a smile.

Affordable lovely hotel in the centre of Sorrento.

Pre wedding visit. Affordable hotel in the centre of Sorrento. Staff were lovely and the hotel itself was very clean and welcoming.
Only downside is the hotel food, breakfast was just a selection of cakes, a bread roll and a yogurt - with tea and coffee. The same every morning. However the waiters were absolutely lovely and had our table ready and waiting for us every morning :).

Would recommend this hotel for a short stay and not a weeks holiday.

Hotel was very outdated and so were the facilities. The front desk staff were not kind, helpful or welcoming. On our check our date, they called the room at exactly 11am even though we were just about to head out of the room. We were well aware of the check out time and were disappointed with their urgency to kick us out. Breakfast is chaotic and not organized whatsoever as well. Great location but crummy service. It is NOT worth the price that you pay for it. Would definitely not come back.

The hotel was standard but very clean. Location was great very central.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was included, prices for food by the pool was very reasonable with a nice selection of choice.
The pool was great for children loved it.

My friend and I are students from Boston, USA, and stayed at Hotel Tourist for 4 nights on spring break from our semester abroad program. The hotel was in a great location, it was clean, and we had the best room with a rooftop terrace! There was always front desk service and the staff was very helpful and kind, especially our friends in the breakfast dining room! It was a real Amalfi Coast experience.

Very impressed on first arrival. Check in was a breeze, our room location was out towards the pool area that doesn't have a lift in that area however that was no issue for us and if it s I'm sure the staff would have taken our bags. Our room was in the loft that had a great porch where we could eat and people watch the street however the roof was on a lean so one end was only centimetres from the floor and gradually got bigger, I hit my head once, you learn after that, and secondly there was no minibar/fridge in our room. This was annoying as we were there 7 nights and were hoping to buy some fruits/platters to have for lunch or to pick on or even cold water.
The staff are super helpful and friendly.
The pool is a great place to relax and enjoy some sunshine.
Its about a gelato's length to walk to the centre of town.

Good budget hotel with swimming pool

Excellent location, very clean rooms, extremely clean swimming pool, with slightly restricted hours of usage. Breakfast selection quite good, but very unpleasant coffee, and food that should be kept hot, usually allowed to get cold, due to the food warmer being left turned off, or put on so low as to make no difference. Cold scrambled egg is not pleasant to eat.

Good location, clean and friendly

Stayed for 10 nights. Good base for exploring this beautiful area of Italy.

A good 3 star, nothing less, nothing more. Clean and spacious room, no charge for using the safe.

Definitely worth the little extra to go half board. A good three course meal menu served each night usually a choice of pasta / risotto / salad followed by a choice of meat dish and a dessert.

The waiters (Giuseppe and Giuseppe) were especially nice and lovely with our 4 year old daughter.
