Pros- Good location, clean room, decent size, complementary cleaning and cooking items like washingup liquid, scrubber, salt and pepper is a very good policy, but could give more tea and coffee sachets on as needed basis, because they are a bit tricky to get outside in the stores..
Cons - it would have been really helpful if the instructions of how to use the safe were put on the safe itself.
The so called swimming pool is really small, can accommodate 1 or 2 people max.

The property did not offer good value for money. It lacked basic amenities such as a smart TV, which is now standard in most hotels and apartments. The floor was dirty upon arrival—our 18-month-old’s feet were black within five minutes. Although we reported this and a cleaner was sent, the floor remained unclean as it was only vacuumed, not properly washed. The apartment itself was very small, more like a studio than a proper one-bedroom unit, with no separate living area. I paid high price for three nights, and I can confidently say it was not worth the cost.

Disappointing Facilities. Dangerous Bed.

The room was small and in need of maintenance.
There were several holes in the bed mattress with a dangerous bedspring wire poking up through the mattress.
We notified the front desk and they replaced the mattress but failed to make the bed.

The staff seemed nice.
The location was great.
The pool was tiny and unheated.
The facilities and room were disappointing.

Not what you expect for the price

The only good thing about this hotel is the location. The AC was either full blast directly to the bed or off, no way to control it. I stayed for 4 nights with my family and only got a small shampoo and shower gel, not enough for 1 day. The floor was full of dirt. You must take the garbage out or they charge you EUR 50. The bed and sofa bed where very uncomfortable.

We love our stay in this appartement.
It is close to everything!
Aldi supermarket is really nice and we find everything we need. We loved the neighborhood. The ice-cream at DeLaCrem worth the wait.
15 min from La Ramblas.
The apartment is quiet and nice.
The little pool was appreciated by the kids.
The only thing that we can complain is the moisture in the shower.

The place was in a very good location, lots of food and close to La Rambla. The bathroom was dirty, lots of mold but good enough to use. The only thing we didn’t appreciate was we booked 2 twin beds and a sofa bed but we ended up with 2 twin beds and an L-shaped sofa so our 2 kids had to sleep on the hard sofa mattress. We asked the front desk about it and they said it was a sofa bed. It was not a sofa bed (see photos). My parents stayed in another apartment and they had a sofa bed.

1. Location: near many restaurants and cafés, walking distance to La Rambla, and access to excellent transit
2. Kitchenette: it was very nice to have a kettle, sink, fridge, and microwave. There was even a washing machine but no dryer and a rule against drying clothes in the window.
3. Dining nook: a very cute little (and I do mean little) table and 4 chairs set with a view into the courtyard.

Dislikes:
1. Size: the superior room was small for 4 people (2 adults, one 13-year-old and one 10-year-old in our case). The double bed and the double fold-out couch take up most of the floor space, making it difficult to move around.
2. Swimming pool: the pool was a big factor in booking for us because we were worried Barcelona might be very hot and we wanted to be able to cool down. We were disappointed when we checked in and learned that the Aramunt pool was closed… until we saw the pool. It would have been just as disappointing open, because it is the smallest pool I have ever seen; more like three bathtubs connected lengthwise.
3. Beds: too small for our family. The pull-out couch was uncomfortable for two people because it moved and squeaked with every shift.
4. Power outage: we arrived on an overnight flight and needed a nap. The room was too hot to sleep and we thought the AC was broken, but it turned there was a power outage. Once the power was back on, the AC worked great.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and if we had wanted to cook, we had that ability. They provided with a cleaning packet and a coffee/tea packet. You also had to pick up all the trash and remove it from room and throw it out at the bin outside the building if you wanted to avoid fees. Also, no cleaning services to the room which was okay since we only stayed three days.

The property is just like the pictures. So many food options closeby including breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It is easy to get a taxi or you can ask the front desk to call one for you. However, the room was clean yet dirty. We used the pullout bed and a dirty sock flew out. It was gross. Also, they charge for extra towels. We stayed for 4 days and we were expected to use the same ones… It was 15 euros so we ended up paying bc we needed them as it rained in Barcelona.

A comfy stay in an excellent neighbourhood

We really liked this neighbourhood of Barcelona, first of all. It was in a lovely location with a terrific atmosphere, only a 15 minute walk away from Las Ramblas. Lots of nice eateries and shops close by.

As for the apartment, couldn't really ask for much more. The staff were great in getting in touch prior to arrival, and friendly when checked in. Clean and spacious room. Ample facilities. Recommend.

We had an amazing holiday in Barcelona and Arumunt apartments were in a perfect location to discover the city easily. On our arrival Sabrina was brilliant explaining the area to us and making us feel so welcome. The apartment itself has everything you need to have a comfortable stay giving you the option of eating in sometimes but there are so many delicious restaurants near by. There is even a washing machine and dishwasher!!! The pool is small but its still a fabulous bonus to have that you dont get in most inner city apartment blocks! And communication with apartment staff is excellent, they reply to you quickly and are helpful.

Fabulous break. Great location, nice studio apartment for 3 people. Comfy beds and white cotton bedding.

Kitchen had every utensil you could wish for plus washing machine and dishwasher.

Only complaint we had was shower spray didn’t work very well.

There was loads of drawers to put clothes in.

Very warm, comfortable apartment would definitely stay there again.

Great apartment, soacious and clean and modern facilities. Bathroom and amneties were fully functional. The only thing that can let this apartment hotel down is the swimming pool (if you can call it that) as its size is more for dipping your feet in rather than swimming in. The downfall was getting stuck in the elevator lift which wasnt pleasant nor felt safe. Apart from that excellent location, great sleep and very comfortable indeed. Did the job but wouldn't go again

The hotel does what it needs to do. It's within walking distance to some of the main attractions and the beds including the sofa bed relatively confirrable. Our room was tired, modern decor shows that once this would have been a beautiful room, but it is not wearing well - our faux leather sofa bed had big scuff marks exposing the cushions, the walls where all marked and grubby and the wall paper has been patched up in areas. The lady on reception was lovely and friendly, the guy not so much! Perhaps he was having a stressful week. We did use their \"what's app\" communication took as the apartment above us where having what sounded like a party at 1am, they didn't reply! The welcome pack with washing up liquid etc was great and lasted us the 5 days which meant we didn't have to buy. The wifi was fine for general browsing etc. We didn't spend a great deal of time in our apoaetment so it served us well and it didn't cost the earth. There where Quite a few of young groups when we went that would sit on the terrace and leave it quite messy with beer bottles and ash trays etc, i didn't feel comfortable taking my Little boy down to the little pool (it's not a pool but a long bath like size)
So all in all, it's fine for getting your head down at the end of a busy day but i wouldn't go back.

My friends and I traveled for 1 night from Madrid to Barcelona just to visit. The place was comfortable, clean the lobby Clerk, Paolo, gave us great customer service and input about the city. We did enjoy his recommendations. I would stay again if we go back to Barcelona.

Apartment 'close enough' to Las Ramblas

We definitely recommend visiting Barcelona. The Travelocity choices for our apartment (Aramunt Apartment, a Derby Hotel) in combination with our flights was a terrific price. We spent 12 days wandering and seeing the sights in Barcelona with side-trips to Montserrat and Marseille, France. (Note - museums are typically closed on Mondays!) Not being huge art lovers we didn't visit many of the art museums in Barcelona, though the Sagrada Familia should not be missed. Being history lovers we did visit the Roman-era ruins under the Barrio Gothic via the Barcelona City museum, the maritime and Egyptian museums, and the old port. We loved simply walking the streets, stopping at cafes to people watch, eating a variety of ethic cuisines (Taiwanese, Indian, Japanese/Peruvian in addition to Catalanyan and Spanish) and seeing the amazing variety of building designs, styles and architecture. The blend of old and new worked together seamlessly. For a very urban city the amount of greenery on balconies, roof tops, tree lined streets and in corner dog parks was amazing. We even saw flocks of bright green parrots! The city teemed with life of all shapes and sizes.

Stayed here for four nights. Nice as a hotel but not good for a family - a single room without a room divider, no lock on the bathroom and the kids sofa bed had to be bent back into shape to open it.

I think I was given a standard apartment eventhough we had booked a superior apartment. The apartment was really small and not spacious. There was a dining table on one side but it was in such a tight space that only two people could sit on one side. They charge a hefty cleaning fee but only make the bed and clean the bathroom once during your stay (we stayed for 7 days). Wifi network is poor and I had constant problems with it.

Loved the place due to its location and cleanliness. You could go to most touristy places walking- within 20 minutes. We were two adults and two older kids so we could take advantage of its location. The subway or Metro station is about 3 blocks away so that works too - 10 minutes. There are some nice eating places at reasonable prices including some fancy ones too. So we would have breakfast (loved the place called the Breakfast Bar which is 2 blocks away) and dinner after our long day trips in this area and it saved us money as well. There were small tucks shops around to buy decent wines/ cheese for 4-10 Euros!

Two things I must mention:
1. It's an apartment so you need to be ready to clean your mess yourself, including making beds or doing the dishes for the duration of your stay. We bought some paper napkins and cleaning sponge from the Convenience store downstairs. We had no problems but some people might not like this.

2. When you go there for the first time, make sure you printout or save the exact directions (Google maps) from the Metro station as it could get confusing to find it. At least some visual milestones. For us we always go to the nearest McDonalds/Starbucks and pull up the Google maps of that area on our phone and then use it to guide ourselves for free-no data roaming required.

Really pleasant hotel in an excellent location!!

Myself and my 2 grown children (aged 20 & 15) had all we needed in the Aramunt Apartment. Our apartment had cooking facilities, iron, dishwasher and washing machine which we used with no problems. The apartment was clean and well maintained.

The bathroom sink was draining slowly on the first day but after reporting it to the friendly staff, this was fixed quickly with no fuss.

From previous reviews I already knew that the pool was tiny and so I told the kids beforehand and then we knew not to expect much from it. We were right not to! As we went prepared with this knowledge I booked a day trip to Costa Caribe Aquatic Park instead so we had a full day of various pools, slides etc. Well worth it!! We had more days at the beach too so that we got the water fun we wanted. It was a good trade off for the brilliant location this hotel is in. Close to everything you need with Universitat Metro less than 10 minutes walk away, bus stops, supermarkets, restaurants and cafes on every corner! Placa de Catalunya is just about 15 mins walk away too, with the fantastic La Rambla and La Boqueria Market!!

We had no problems with the WiFi either at the hotel. It worked fine for the 3 of us using it at the same time.

We stayed for 7 days so the apartment was cleaned halfway through with new bed linen and towels.

The only small thing I would suggest to the hotel is to have the leaflet, maps and information stand in the lobby by the Reception desk, and better signage to the pool and area

Fantastic!

There were four of us staying in the apartment. We came to barcelona for a holiday and we went to Sonar on one of the nights. We stayed in a superior room which was a really good size for four girls - a double bed, sofa bed and table with seating. There is a good amount of wardrobe space for clothes so that it doesn't feel cluttered in the apartment. We didn't use the kitchen but it would've been adequate for cooking. The apartment felt really clean and was perfect for us. There is decking at the back of the hotel so if you get down early you can enjoy the sun - as there are only 4 sun loungers. We only spent one afternoon out there as it is an enjoyable walk or short metro journey to the beach. The apartment is located in a fun area with plenty of bars and good restaurants around. We didn't find it to be noisy despite the relatively busy location. I would definitely stay again.

The apartments are located very close to nice places to visit (i.e. Placa Universitat, Casa Batllo, ...). We were also able to walk to go to La Rambla. Our apartment was modern and functional. The staff was always very kind while providing turist/practical information. Only one negative remark: they must change the sofa as it was completely uncomfortable.

Great location!

Even had a washing machine! It helped for someone that backpacked through Europe. Although it was small it got the job done! A lot of places nearby to eat or drink a beer. Also helped that there were stores nearby for whatever was needed. No complaints here and the staff downstairs was real helpful as well. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

This place is in a good location. A few things I didn't like. The pool is more of a water feature as it is tiny.
The only place in my apartment I had wifi was at the front door. So I had to sit on the floor at the door to get wifi or go in to the common area. For this reason I will not stay here again.

Front desk didn't really care about the customers specially the ladies. We were supposed to have one house cleaning during the week, I had to ask about it. They came 2 days after. Hotel should revise their description. Check in time should say 2pm instead it leads you to believe that you can check in at 10am but you really can not go to your room until 2 o'clock.

Arrived to a reception with no staff and waiting for 30 minutes for staff to arrive once I called the number off the Internet.

Our room wasn't acailable so we were moved to another apartment 10 minutes away. This was miles away from everything we wanted to do that evening.

We were moved back to our original apartment the next morning only to be told the apart ment still wasn't ready.

Once in the apartment we realised we had left a jacket at the old apartment. The reception staff were very unhelpful in the retrieval process. We were told it not their fault we had left it there and any of the new guests or cleaning staff could've taken it.

All in all, not a good place with very rude and unhelpful staff. Good location though.

This is a do-it-youself apartment.
The staff at the reception are very helpful and friendly. They are on duty from 10am to 12 midnight. Service is available every 6 days, so if your stay is less than that, there is no service during your stay. There are washing machine, dish washer, and basic cooking utensils in the apartment.
Small Supermarkets and reasonable resturnants nearby.
Located about 4 streets from the nearest Mass Transit station, Univserstat. Aerobus from Barcelona Airport also has a stop there.

Clean apartment/hotel close to cbd shopping/eating

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay as a solo female traveler. The studio apartment was clean and the security of the building was good. Restaurants, bars & shopping all handy and anyway, it was a flat walk so pretty stress free. Situated in the heart of the gay area which didn't bother me. Lots of little supermarkets around for provisions & all open late. Only criticism is I would have liked another shelf in the bathroom to put my (excess) clutter on.

Pretty good location, room was OK

I expected a smaller building, fewer apartments, and a larger room (we booked an Executive Apartment but I wonder if we really got a Standard). Our hideaway bed was somewhat broken - when opened up it needed to be propped up with those small wastebaskets.

Aramunt Apartments Barcelona

I wasn't able to stay at this hotel due to the fact that a hot water pump had been damaged during the night. Since they were completely booked, they couldn't offer me another room in their building. They provided my family an upgraded room at a hotel close by for free and included transportation to the new hotel (this was almost midnight too!), free breakfast and dinner.

Nice hotel in a good location

We were staying for one night in Barcelona and found this hotel to be well located near Placa Catalunya.
We were a family of 4 adults. The studio room was not very big but had enough room for a double bed and a sofa bed that could sleep 2. The bathroom was quite nice. There was cooktop and a fridge as well as dishwasher.
The hotel was easy to find and the checkin process was smooth.
The only major negative was a cockroach which we found scurrying about the morning we were leaving.
Overall I would recommend this for the location, price and general comfort.

Good - friendly staff and clean apartment. Near to down town area.
Bad - broken furniture, inconsistent wifi, only 1 toilet for 4 pax and the toilet door was difficult to open/close. No English instruction for the electrical appliances.

Good location, 10 minutes from the metro. Helpful reception. But ... shabby furniture and poorly maintained facilities (eg. no sink plug, cupboard doors not closing properly, fridge, microwave and cooker extractor fan all in mucky condition). Cooking facilities inadequate even for just two of us.

Perfect Location, lovely apartment

Apartment was perfectly placed for getting around Barcelona, 10 min walk to nearest Metro. Had everything we needed for a very pleasant 3 night stay, clean, comfortable, well equipped, modern, climate controlled apartment on 4th floor. Really liked it. Would highly recommend as a base for exploring this amazingly beautiful city. Fab value for money too.

Great location

Bus for the beach (64 to Barcelonetta or 59 to Port Olympic) leaves from outside the apartment.

Excellent restaurant across the street Domu, a great find on our last day! Also a good chinese a few doors away, and a must see is Indochine restaurant, you can take a right turn out of the apartment and walk for 5 mins to the next block.

Lovely Tapas chain called Tapa Tapa on the main road, a great menu if your a vegi too!

Loved the designer stores and everyone is very friendly and happy to help or give directions. Make sure you have a map with you if walking everywhere as a lot of the roads look the same :)

Had great week in Barcelona and would recommend Arumunt apartments. The reception staff can advise on all site seeing and you can buy passes too, and an easy way to see the city is by buying the bus route pass option (red route, blue route and green route). Or Metro is a easy way to get around also! Enjoy x

Apartment in the Eixample area of town

We chose this apartment because of the neighborhood and reviews from other travelers. For Europe standards room size is OK for a party of 4 (2 adults / 2 children), however it is in need of serious TLC. While furnishings were on the practical side, room walls and window treatments were dirty. The A/C (a must during Barcelona's summer months) did not work for more than 1 hour at the time, not a problem if you're not in the room but a major one at night. After about an hour the unit would turn itself off, reception clerk said it was programming which I worked on but couldn't get it to be on all night, this meant waking up 2-3 times during the night to turn it back on, not a pleasant experience. Bed pillows had a bad sweat smell, the one that doesn't go away with clean pillow-cases but seemed more a result of a not-so-clean pillows. Sofa-bed OK for 2 children, however the mattress was a bit on the worn side which made it hard and uncomfortable. The appliances were what a small unit requires and do the job, but should be upgraded. In summary, a good place for a short stay that requires fixing to make it a better experience.

Local part of town.

We had to move to a different location about two streets away on arrival due to a problem with our room. The reception girl handled it really well paying for a taxi for the short journey to the Virraoel Apartments which was upgrade roomwise yet she still left us with keys to both to let our children use the better wifi at the Aramunt. The area is loaded with fantastic cheap authentic Spanish restaurants and only about fifteen minute stroll to La Ramblas area.

Location Excellent, but lack space

Excellent location, good English speaking staff. Overall we are please with Aramunt Apt, although space was an issue. Once the pull out sofa was pulled out, literally there are no walking across the room space. All open plan space, no storage space or our suitcases. Advantage to Aramunt, has a good terrace space with a very small pool...ideal for one adult or two small children to paddle in. Overall experience, we enjoyed our stay as it is safe and quiet part of Barcelona with easy access to Metro.

We were to arrive after the property was locked for the evening. We had to go to a different location to pick up the key and room information. This was well communicated to us before our arrival! The staff could not have been nicer. Great front desk assistance at both properties!

Aramunt Apartments

Booked an exec room and we were upgraded to a Superior Room, which was anything other than superior. Complained to the reception staff and were shown an exec room which was much nicer. Staff were mighty rude when I complained about the state of the room. This property is old and tired and feels very used, there is a small garden and jacuzzi at the back of the property which gets little sun. Such a shame as the location was excellent, its a 10 minute walk to Las Ramblas and the restaurants and bars around this area don't charge tourist prices.

Comfortable room, although advert said - executive one bedroom, didn't realise it was a moveable dividing wall!! However we enjoyed our stay in Barcelona and apartment was central and within easy walking distance of Las Ramblas, even for kids!!

Great for couples with kids

Great hotel for couples or families with children or young friends travelling together. All rooms are loft style which means that there is no privacy if there is four adults staying in one room. Two beds are next to each other with privacy curtain in some rooms. For two couples this is not a good option, however for couple with kids this might be just fine. There is also few junior suites available, two connected lofts with two bathrooms. This is perfect for two couples. Apartments are clean and modern ( ikea furniture). Location is safe and 15 min. Walk to Rambla. Staff helpful and pleasant.
