1. The hotel sends you options of how to get from the airport and ranks them (slowest, most expensive, etc) - this was very helpful!

5. Central location - short walk from Aerobus stop (3-4 mins); Boqueria Market and other places of interest in walkable distances.

6. There was only one mirror in the room.

7. No usb outlet in room.

Great location, small yet comfortable room

The room was tiny, but comfortable. It had a balcony with no view, but nice to have. The check-in was very friendly and efficient. And the location is fantastic, an easy walk to the Placa Catalyuna and the north end of the Rambla.

The only thing you need out of a hotel is a place to sleep- well there was an LED light that turned on in the middle of the night and was not able to be turned off so that caused disturbances to us and the child we we were traveling with. We were unable to sleep comfortably. We left the staff know and they said maintenance couldn’t do anything about it now so for both nights we had a bright light

Great Barcelona home base

The hotel was centrally located near the Plaza Universitat so was super easy to take the Eurobus shuttle from the airport. Adrian was there at the front desk to greet me and checked me into my single room. It was absolutely silent which I loved. Not so thrilled sleeping in a single bed but that’s what I booked. I took the breakfast each morning in the restaurant and it was tasty and plentiful. Overall my experience was great and I could confidently recommend the hotel.

Would have gotten a better review however, bathroom fan didn’t work and was steamy for very long after shower - front desk not helpful. Only one mirror in the bathroom so difficult for multiple people to get ready and I had to give a €30 deposit to use a clothing steamer.

The location is excellent, close (4 min) to the subway and in walkable distance to many hot spots (gothic center, University Square, Las Ramblas). Also, close to the A1/A2 shuttle station to airport (7 min).

The hotel is overpriced, breakfast is not impressive but expensive, facilities in the rooms are quite spartan. But all these are typical for an mass touristic area like downtown Barcelona.

I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights as a single traveller. I was given a room with a double bed the first night. I wanted one big bed so was given a room with a big bed the second night. The room had a nice balcony and view to the main street. The hotel is walkable to Las Ramblas and one of the main squares for catching the tour buses. The room is a decent size and very clean. It looks recently renovated. The washroom is a very nice size. The downsides is that there is no microwave or clock and the bed is very hard. Also, the walls are very thin, so if you are a light sleeper, you will hear everything e.g. your neighbours and when housekeeping starts cleaning. I liked that they give you free bottles of water in your mini fridge every day.

Simple tidy hotel ideal for us. Decent breakfast. Great for city centre Ramblas etc. walkable. Bit to far to walk to beach. Front desk was v.helpful. The fire alarm went off at 4am on the final night 16-05-23. But there is no alarm in room, just a noise in corridor. It was not Hotels fault as smoking set it off...but worrying to see that only 15 people left their rooms, many slept through it. Apology from front desk staff was adequate and we were offered free breakfast as compensation but we were paying for it already so nothing they could offer us.

The single standard room given to me room 101 was the size of one child's bed. I was falling off the bed. There was absolutely no space to move in the room.
I then paid to upgrade to a double room. They then gave me room 103 which was over the main entrance where I had to listen to the automatic doors open and shut all night long. The slamming shut of other room doors made the room shake. There were four rooms in a 6sq ft area. There were three steps to get to the room with luggage.
8\" in front of the toilet was a beset. I had to sit on an angle to use the toilet.
The noise from the flush and water pipes in the hotel sounds like the water is gushing into the room. There is a smell of sewage throughout the room. Being a person of colour and being given the worst rooms and reading rave reviews from white guests I can certainly say this hotel is extremely racist.
Don't stay there if you're not white. At $100 a night find another hotel. Catalonia is awful.

The hotel is well maintained. It is in a great location. You can take the Aerobus from the airport and it’s a 5 minute walk to the hotel. The room was big and clean. The best part is the French balcony that you can open and step onto. Our view of the street was lovely. You can use the mini fridge to store things. Overall a great place and great value for our money since most hotels were a lot more money.

Great value, great location, clean hotel

This is a very clean hotel in an excellent location to explore Barcelona. It is within a short walk of the Ramblas, plus two subway (Metro) stations are even closer. Three other things that stood out about my stay (1) One of the most friendly, helpful front desks I've ever come across; this goes for each of the 5 or 6 employees we came across. (2) an outstanding and filling breakfast to get us on our way each day with so many choices. (3) On breakfast day we left at 5:30 a.m., before breakfast serving time, so the staff packed us a breakfast to take to the airport.

There was no coffee making facilities in the hotel, no face tissues in the room, the pillow (one only each) was very thin. The TV programs were all Spanish language. Apart from the bed and wifi there was little else.

The hotel is very nice for a 3 star hotel, he staff are very friendly although the concierge did find it difficult to locate an iron for me and they did not have an ironing table. The room is clean and decent sized, although I did find the lack of more than 1 pillow a little annoying and the bathroom did need a few more lights to light it up properly. The buffet style breakfast was nice and catered for all tastes but the TV seemed to lack English channels, which is strange and would have been nice as even just getting news is sometime very good when you are on a business trip. I would still recommend this hotel with the above points in mind.

We struggled to find the place then we had been told we could pull up to discuss parking but when we drove past there was no place to temporarily park easily in traffic. This wasn't a surprise but I wish the person on the phone had given me the address of the parking garage they use. Instead I just found parking paid more than I should have and we hiked in with luggage.

Single rooms were fairly small but looked recently refurbished, laminate wood flooring and modern bathroom with rain shower cubicle. Bed was a bit basic and firm with too soft pillow. Overall though it was extremely good value and good condition. For the money I would recommend it.

Fantastic stay.

Second time staying in this hotel and would definitely come back again. Fantastic location, easy transport to and from the airport and 5 min walk from main city centre (Plaça Catalunya etc). Hotel was reasonabluly priced for Barcelona. Good location, just 1 minute walk from Aerobus stop from airport. Room a lttle stuffy. Aircon not working, just fan blowing room temp air. Only windiw looked out to a internal courtyard on the first floor. This was accessible, so keeping windiw open to vent room wad a security risk. Other higher floors would be ok.

The hotel is located in a great location, very close to all the major POIs, but the condition of the property is not great, everything is quite dated and the worst part is that you should stay away from the rooms that are closer to the elevator shaft, especially on the 6th floor - the motor is too loud, day and night. Decently priced, tourist area-adjacent

I traveled with my 65 year old mother and a friend and picked this hotel due to its location to the metro (only one change of line from the airport), good reviews, decent price and the elevator. We stayed 3 nights.

Positives: clean and thorough housekeeping; really nice breakfast buffet with eggs, yogurt, sausage, bacon and fruit; fairly close walk to La Rambla, Gothic neighborhood, and Gaudi houses; between two metro stops; decent size.

Some negatives: really warm room since the heat was on in the building (high temperature outside was only in the 60s F), but at least we were on the backside of the building and could open the window all night without noise; needs more outlets to charge device - had to unplug the lamp to have an extra outlet, but the outlet would not charge when main light was off. Also, the third bed in the triple room was a sofa bed. As far as sofa beds go, it was not too bad, but if you lay on it at the right angle, you could feel the bar.

I would recommend staying here, as it offered exactly what we needed.

I wanted to be on the Gran Via.

The hotel was obviously renovated some time ago, but using high quality materials, so is still in a very good condition but has a dated look to it. The public areas are somewhat cold and clinical, but everything is super clean and well maintained. The location is fantastic. I would definitely stay here again.

Brilliant location and excellent staff

Location was great - near the posh shops and easy to reach the sites but also adjacent to the interesting El Raval neighbourhood. Staff were courteous and helpful. I found it strange to have to pay €4 a night to use the safe in my room, but that's a small gripe. The single rooms we booked were small but clean and functional (nice showers) and had everything we needed. Breakfast absolutely fine.

Recommend you find a different hotel in this price range. We are on a three-month trek around western Europe and this stay was most disappointing and the most expensive. The entire floor smelled of gas. The climate control didn't work so the room was exceptionally warm. We would have brought this to the attention of the front desk but encountered a very apathetic attitude toward service. To top it off, the night before we were to leave Barcelona, my husband \"lost\" his wallet that he carries with just some cash a some business cards. Turns out, it was found in the hotel lobby (had fallen out of his pocket on a sofa while waiting for me). Although his name was clearly on the business card, no one made the attempt to connect the dots and let him know. The only reason it was returned to him is via a casual conversation at the front desk during check-out as he explained why he had no cash. The wallet was there all along. Again, no sense of service.

We stayed here for one week. The location is good. The room was dark. Towels were thin and cheap. They wanted to charge daily for the use of a safe in the room. Price was high for the accommodation. Buffet breakfast was good. You can find better choices in Barcelona.

Wifi: Not reliable and very weak. It's a two-step authentication in which kicks you out every time.

Staff: Not very helpful in terms of the wifi situation I had. They did not provide an alternative solution. They are also not very friendly. The cleaning staff starts cleaning right at 9am so they knock and very discruptive. Make sure you put the \"do not disturb\" sign the night before.

Hotel/Room Condition: The cleaning solutions they use smelt like cigarettes, so when I arrived I thought the room was a smoking-allowed room. The walls are also very thin so you can hear other people in their rooms and the people in the hallways.

Breakfast: Not a very good selection and the eggs are just microwaved scrambled eggs.

Horrendous Experience!!!!!

Absolutely Horrible Experience. Staff is ridiculous. They don't help at all. My wife was sick since the day we arrived, and had to get admitted to the hospital, due to which I had to extend 2 nights to 4 nights. Staff was rude, manner-less, no etiquettes, and refused to help point blank on my face. They knew my wife was not well, and I couldn't leave her in the room alone the first day before admitting to the hospital, still they did not send water in the room. I had to run up and down with glasses of water for my wife. Last day my wife was getting discharged at 12.30pm, so I requested them to give me a late checkout by 2 hours on medical grounds, but again, as expected, they said no. They were asking for 60 Euros for 2 hours! Unimaginable! Guys, please be careful before booking Hotel Caledonian. They are ruthless people.

Qualify, good condition hotel but highly priced

The rooms and service are nice. Safe and 24-hours recepition. Located good and close to the restaurants, metro station and supermarket. But price is high and confused: first night was Eur 65 but changed to Eur 100 in the second night. Why? Why not the same for 2 nights ?
