On arrival we discovered the resort pool was closed due to repairs.
The unit is in poor shape and in desperate need of an overhaul.
Unfortunately my partner made the mistake of lying down on the couch that was so old the couch timber supports stuffed her back and had to leave a day earlier.

Super friendly staff, very helpful and welcoming.

Apartment was very clean, had everything we needed and the facilities were great at the resort. Clean pool, sauna and spotless BBQs!!

The property is in a great location and the corner unit we had was a great size with a large balcony.

The Bathrooms & Ensuite in the Unit probably need to be updated as they are now looking rather tired.

We would definitely stay there again as it is great for a family

Great location with local bus service effectively right at the door. A car is a necessity for exploration further afield.
We enjoyed a 180 degree view from unit 7D directly opposite the beach overlooking the Pacific and watching whales and dolphins regularly.
And the long as well wide sandy beach was often enjoyed during long walks.
The unit was furnished and fitted out with all necessities and more.
Although it was a bit cool to swim in the outdoor pool for us, the facilities with it including spa and plunge pool and lovely outdoor garden area were great. The gym and tennis court are an added bonus.

I have been going here for a very long time and always love it. You do need a car to get around though as the nearest shopping centre is too far to walk. There are local buses though. Gets s bit cold at night in winter so bring a heater. Most units don’t have air conditioning so can get quite hot in winter. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else though. Pool area is always immaculate with beautiful gardens. I’ve already booked my next trip back to Currumbin.

Fantastic Views and easy access to coffee shops and cafes. Management of the resort are very friendly and professional making us welcome from day one. No air conditioning which was inconvenient on those occasions when there was no breeze. That would be the only issue though as its a great place to relax on the Gold Coast.

Big Ocean Views backed by Aussie Bush & Rainforest

I love the Rocks Resort Currumbin! It's in an idyllic location, with the Australian bush and wildlife at your back balcony and the most incredible ocean views from the front! And a beautiful pool and gardens right across the road from the beach. Apartments are very spacious and well equipped and all have awesome views. The resorts common areas: reception, bbq's, tennis court, pool, games room, always immaculate. Staff reasonably friendly and helpful and there's secure underground parking.

The service was excellent and the position of the resort is its best feature. However the unit I stayed in was certainly not 4 star. Paint on some walls was peeling, there were many scuff marks on many of the walls; there were weeds growing through the tiles on the balcony; decor was very ordinary ... brown carpet and bedspread in the main bedroom; cushions in living area were clean but very old in appearance; most kitchen appliances were obviously rather dated ... rust evident on most and knobs etc were worn; one toilet had hygiene seal but when a visitor had to use it, she reported that it had obviously not been flushed after its last use. Very disappointing because on other occasions, the units I have stayed in have been of the quality I would expect for the price I was paying and for a resort that is described as a luxury resort. Also, the reception desk was not manned on the Saturday afternoon I arrived and so I had to wait until the next day to receive assistance with the TV reception ... not what I would expect for such a busy period.

We loved our suite 2i , it was beach themed with a lot of love. It felt so comfortable. The kids loved the cubby room. The balcony was a good size to relax on. Staff were so understanding and moved us from our first suite which was very high up in the building and very dated. My advice would be to view your room before booking they are all so different. The distance from the beach and coffee shops is priceless. A gorgeous break for a very tired little family . X o x

It might be great in summer however winter leaves me cold. The Foxtel was apparently broken and management were off handed and unhelpful on many levels. The free to air channels were restricted due to poor reception. The apartment allocated was lacking any heating and was quite cold after the sun was down. From front reception to cleaning staff we found stern faces.

Great hotel with outstanding ocean views

My wife and I simply wanted to stay in a place that had a ocean view, a pool, was clean and wasn't to expensive. The Rocks hit the mark of each of these and we enjoyed our stay.

In the week leading up to our arrival, I had emailed the resort and asked for a room on one of the higher levels that had 100% ocean views and the always smiling Jazmine in reception made sure that happened. The room was big, modern and clean and the views were simply outstanding. The resort also takes great pride in their pool and spa and both were exceptionally clean and inviting throughout the week. We also made use of the free BBQ's which are a great idea.

Within a minutes walk from the resort, there were various coffee and breakfast options as well as the local surf life saving club which is located 'on the beach' and offers tasty food, cold beer and at 1970's prices. The beach itself across from the resort is patrolled in patches and ok for swimming but fantastic for surfing which I did each morning

The resort itself is a 'little older' in some areas but honestly I wouldn't change a thing as these few factors only add to the charm of the place.

For pure value for money, the Rocks Resort was outstanding and will be at the top of our list the next time my wife and I holiday on the Gold Coast.

We stayed here for 3 days mainly because older relations of ours have stayed often, but we found it somewhat disappointing. The venue is past its prime and the 1970's fittings, the leaky washing machine, leaky toilet, light bulb that needed replacing and the basic high mileage double bed, were reminders that there is work to be done at The Rocks. There are better options.

Whenever travelling, you have to expect the unexpected. We expected clean and comfortable accommodation with a great view and we got it. An absolutely pristine location looking out over the white sand beach towards the sunrise. Pools and spas are clean and well presented.
But - The Rocks is not a Resort! One towel per guest per week? No servicing of rooms. No restaurants or other catering on site. Need a towel for the beach or pool?, then make sure you bring it from home or buy one from management for $25. Nothing that you can't cope with, but it would be better to know in advance.
Our stay was in July so the lack of air-con was not a problem.
The suite was noisy at times with constant sound of the surf and frequent flights overhead. Friday night seemed especially busy for flights and with a changed flight path which banked directly above us.
We enjoyed our stay at The Rocks and would be happy to endorse it for others, but suggest that you approach the accommodation as \"apartment style, self catering\" rather than a full service resort.

A Great location!

Excellent location - opposite beach, cafes close by and walking tracks too. The Rocks Resort also had plenty of facilities- gym, kids room, pool, sauna and barbecue area. Views from room took in the beautiful beach as well as the rock face behind! Just remember it is an apartment and though a day's supply in many things are there, many day to day items need to be brought (or bought) with you eg toilet paper, soap etc.

A beautiful place to stay

Relaxing outlook and within walking distance of good restaurants and of course the idyllic Currumbin Rock and Surf Club. Very clean open style apartment with a large veranda overlooking the beach. The pool and spa facilities are clean and well maintained. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our few days and will be back.

The best thing this resort has going for it is the beautiful Currumbin Beach and surrounds. Cross the road and your onto the sand - 200 m South and you're swimming between the flags - 200 m North and your paddling in Currumbin Creek. 50 m to the Beach Shack Cafe, 200 m to Elephant Rock Cafe and 300 m to Currumbin Vikings Surf Lifesaving Club with the bistro perched on Elephant Rock above the ocean and beach.

The resort is showing signs of ageing and could do with a facelift - no air conditioning was an uncomfortable surprise and had to ask for a portable fan because no ceiling fans either. However, it was clean, functional and with undercover parking. The gardens are beautiful and the pool, spa, BBQ are and tennis courts are all first rate.

Good value for money overall.

Relaxing resort

I spent six nights at the Rocks Resort. Fortunately the weather was good ... only started raining the day I left. The Rocks Resort is a great place to stay if you are looking for a relaxing, laid-back type of resort. How much or how little you do depends entirely on you. Its proximity to the beach and the busier spots on the Gold Coast make this choice possible.
