Great location if you want to be out of CBD.
Riverwalks, plenty of eating options, convenient for sporting facilities MCG, Tennis precinct etc.

Really good customer service, friendly staff and nice atmosphere at the hotel. Room itself is good dont need to have any more than that. However some basic amenities were missing: toilet brush/spary, bath mat and also we had three people staying at the room and we had to ask for a third towel and when we did they still only gave us two. One of us had to use the smaller hand towel.

The room was spotless and we were given a complimentary upgrade which was a lovely surprise. The hotel is in a great position especially for sporting venues and has terrific amenities with bar and restaurant on site. The staff are absolutely wonderful. We could not be happier with everything! This is our second stay and certainly will not be our last. Would highly recommend and we thank you for making our two days amazing.

I would have liked a better bread selection at breakfast, no seed or rye bread of something healthier. Fruit bread was nice.

The soft seating has lots of stains on it which didn't feel inviting to sit on in the breakfast area.

Your people were excellent on Reception and in the Breakfast area.

Some of your rooms need updating and the bathrooms need the shower areas to be cleaner. My room in 433 the water sits there after a shower and even after the cleaners came in, it was still there when I came home, bit concerned about bacteria as the area never drys. The grouting needs cleaning and brought up to scratch so it doesn't look dirty. Bedrooms good though.

One day coming outside the lifts on the 4th floor, I spotted the table was very dusty, I could write in the dust easier. This should be cleaned each day, the small details need managing.

Good pricing at the hotel, I'd stay again and nice to have the grounds of green trees etc.

Vents in shower are filthy, no plug ins near bed, shower was horrible and no water pressure. The water temp is hot then cold, room was tiny compared to pics. The sheets need softener, literally have a rash from the roughness of the sheets. And you can literally hear everyone. ZERO PRIVACY. Parkinh price is ridiculously high. DO n

My parents stayed there for a few days. Most staff are very friendly and helpful, especially since it is their first visit to Melbourne. The restaurant for breakfast is fantastic! (According to them). It’s very easy to travel to, but it’s also quiet, and there is a lot of nature, so they enjoyed walking around.

On the downside the room we booked was the king corner spa room which was very tired. The cleanliness of the room was not good. The bathroom had what looked like mould on the ceiling. The whole room needs a good refurbishment. The bed however was very comfortable.

We had a lovely overnight stay to celebrate an anniversary. Staff were very friendly and check-in/check-out went smoothly. Room was very nice, on the small side but enough for the time we were there. We had a spa room and the shower is also in the spa, which could be difficult for anyone with mobility issues. We pre-purchased parking onsite, which wasy to access. Being close to public transport, the hotel is in a great location and easy to get into the city.

Overcharged on parking. Have slept on concrete that was softer than the bed. Shower was either freezing or scalding hot. Zero in between. Towel rack falling off the wall. Balcony so small could not fit more than 1 person on it. Thought we were being pranked it was so laughable. Have stayed here regularly and this will definitely be the last time. Would have been better sleeping in the car.

There was no milk in the room for coffee. Also no face washers in the bathroom (unusual). When exiting the car park if you followed the arrow out you were unable to continue as the exit lane around the bend was blocked off, which made exiting a little awkward. There needed to be large signage stating this.

My original room had an old bed that played havoc with my back.
At 7:00am the following morning I told the concierge and he was going to get the staff to make the bed firmer. Five hours later nothing had been done and his solution was to put doonas on the mattress to firm it up. I was most distressed, exhausted from moving out of my apartment and needed to taken strong painkillers and rest. Eventually I was put into a room where the concierge asked me to try the mattress as it was ‘a new one’. It was good. This room was not an upgrade but a downgrade to a single room from my two rooms. It was in better condition than the more expensive one. The bathroom/s need upgrading and hotel products need to be on hand. The second room had better shower products than the more expensive one. One tissue left in the box with no spare in the room or bathroom. No jug to put water in the fridge.
The dining facilities were excellent both in food and staff. I have not paid the bill as I’m waiting for a proper adjustment not a one of $68.69 credit. There are two nights that I stayed in the cheaper room with no adjustment. Overall, it has left a sour taste and I don’t believe I will stay there again.

We stayed last year, and chose to go back this year as it was near to family.
We paid over a $1000 for 5 nights.
When we arrived we checked in and went to our allocated room.
There was dirt on a light switch which looked like faeces which husband cleaned off and took a photograph.
On our 2nd day I made the bed and the quilt had all stains on it.
We reported this to the front desk and we where given a different room.
Which we moved to and the guy assisted us with our luggage.
When we got to the new room we found it was not cleaned to the standard of a 4.5 star hotel.
We will definitely not be staying here again.

Good location with tram out the front for the MCG. 2 bedroom apartment was sufficent, although frypan needs an update if planning on cooking. Vent in room was covered in dust with finger prints on it. Found underwear and a towel in the washer/dryer and a false eyelash stuck on the light above vanity from the previous stay. Cleaning could be improved.

The restaurant and cafe area was great. Staff friendly and helpful. That’s where it ended. The 2 bedroom apartment was outdated and we felt we were staying in a 2 star hotel. The bedroom on the lower floor was freezing, we couldn’t heat it. Kitchen pointless. We won’t be staying here again.

We liked sitting on the balcony to have our breakfast and having views to the city. We met some friends in the lobby lounge which was a nice area. It was a bit tricky to get the water temperature right in the shower as there was a delay when you adjusted the tap. Overall nice stay and easy public transport options on doorstep.

I stayed at the Amora Melbourne for four nights. The experience was okay—but a few issues made it less enjoyable than expected.

The room and corridors had a musty smell. My heating didn’t work properly (only blew cold air), and although a technician came, it wasn’t immediately resolved. I was offered a room change but was already halfway through my stay; I received a small space heater instead.

Corridors were often blocked by housekeeping trolleys/vacuum cleaners, making access difficult (especially as I use a walking stick). The carpet in the corridors also had a number of large stains.

Despite signs encouraging towel reuse, mine were replaced daily.

The ceiling had dozens of small dead bugs—likely gnats or midges—clearly not a new problem. The spa bath couldn’t be used properly due to limited hot water.

The breakfast buffet was basic and, I felt, overpriced; barista coffee wasn’t included, and the self-serve machine sprayed milk/chocolate everywhere. I also witnessed poor service when an well-dressed (and not young) guest asked for a serviette to clean up a floor spill—a staff member, who wasn't busy handed him a serviette instead of cleaning up the spill.

IT systems seemed unreliable, even the post-stay customer survey link didn’t work.

On the upside, the location is great, the room rate was fair, and Jacob behind the bar was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and professional. He was the service standout.

With some improvements, this could be a much better hotel.

Our family of 5 stayed for 4 nights. There wasn't a table for 5 in the restaurant; we were split across 2-3 tables each time and were often asked to sit in a glass room separate to the main restaurant. Given you could book a two bedroom apartment for 6 people this is rude. We asked the staff questions and were mostly unable to get an answer. Or got very different answers. Our bathroom had hair caught in the drain from the beginning to the end of our stay. Showers were difficult to navigate and seemed to have two temperatures - very hot or cold. We had to ask for teabags to be replaced (and were given 2 at a time) and the aircondititioner didn't work. We were woken to the courtyard being cleaned at dawn each morning.

Hotel itself was lovely, room was comfortable. I got the room with a bath, that was lovely. Had a nice hot jetted bath. however, the shower wasn't great. Couldn't work out the temperature; either cold or hot, and pressure was very low.

Attended on a day that was raining but the paths by the Yarra looked amazing.

A very weird hotel to say the least. It feels like a time capsule from the 80s... but the late 80s when everything started to go downhill. I will firstly say that that the service staff were lovely and helpful and the outside and bar restaurant looks amazing. It really feels like this place is deserving of it's 4-star rating at this point, that is, until you get to the bedrooms. Having stayed at the Amora in Sydney several times, I wasn't expecting to be staying in Motel-style accommodation in the centre of the Melbourne. The rooms are tight, small and poorly laid out. Everything is dusty, dirty, old and broken or on the verge of breaking. There were two powerpoints in the entire room and none next to the bed. The balcony is not even slightly private and you essentially have to have your curtains drawn all day and night if you want privacy. The walls are paper thin, you could hear neighbours arguing. The bathrooms are incredibly dated and mine in particular had an opening window/door situation over the shower/bath set up that didn't close properly which meant that when I had a shower, the bed got wet... which not only sucks having to sleep on a wet bed, but makes me wonder how long it's been like this and how the mattress is holding up with that kind of exposure to moisture. I definitely wouldn't stay again as I feel the experience falls far short of the price point, essentially paying 4-5 star hotel prices in the middle of the city for a regional seaside town style motel.
