- Room size
- kids slides are very entertaining

Cons:
- doesn’t feel luxury in the slightest
- kids club looks good until you see all the broken toys and the staff on their phones instead of interacting with the kids
- sun loungers get taken from you if you leave for 40 mins or longer. So basically you can’t return post lunch.
- be sure to check the boat timing to / from the island as they only run certain hours and if you need to privately hire it’s $850 sgd for one way (35 mins)

The check-in was late and very disorganized. After the delay, it was presented to us as if we were receiving an “upgrade,” but in practice we were placed in a family area with water slides directly in front of our balcony, instead of the sea-view room that was originally booked.
Only after insisting were we moved to the correct room, which happened about one hour after the hotel’s official check-in time.
In addition, the prices at the hotel were very expensive by any standard, including the spa and the hotel’s restaurants.

Overall, an absolutely beautiful hotel with very kind people. The room was excellent and I’ve never been to a more friendly place. The only negatives would be at times The staff just didn’t understand drink orders, and there were a few meals where the service was slow and inconsistent. Again they were super friendly, but I feel a bit young and inexperienced to deal with more complicated requests. Also didn’t like that they had a yoga class every couple days, but it was $45 if you wanted to participate. I think at this price point things like that should be included. Other observation is that it is very family friendly, and me and my wife were just about the only people there without little kids. So if you are a couple looking to hang out with other couples, this may not be your spot, but if you have kids, then it should be perfect. But overall a wonderful stay with super lovely people!

What a rip off resort. booked a package with sea transfer inclusive - no mention of this only being the case in daylight hours! charged a significant amount for late night sea. all the prices for food and services is inflated even for island prices with single aim to rip your guests off. Shame on you!

Great location and well appointed rooms. Service is classic Thai who are exceptional helpful and engaging. Resport is not that old so still very much in good shape (eg decking round the pool, tiles loose in pool area etc) minor but will need to be addressed.
As we went in the off season there was low patronage - gret for us - but main restaurant (Pakarang) closed for lunch and dinner as a result. Reduces the viable options (not including pool bar/restaurant which closes approx 6) for dinner to two restaurants - not an issue generally but needs to be clearer on their website when booking. Watersports options reduced to SUP and Kayak. Agree with the no motorized stuff - but the odd hobie cat or small sailing dinghy would be good. Overall - a fantastic place
Word of warning - if you have an early departure form Phuket - the private boat to get you there with an early morning surcharge is a BIG dent on the budget

I don’t usually take the time to right hotel reviews, I am a frequent traveler and have been to many fancy hotels worldwide, I can confidently say that my stay here has been the best I’ve ever had, it’s a peace of heaven on earth, if you ever want to disconnect from the chaos of life and relax, this resort is the place. Frame and her team took great care of us, housekeeping comes twice a day, we booked the lagoon pool villa and it was sparkling clean, everything was comfortable and convenient, their breakfast is great, the beach is nice and clean, the pools are spacious and calm, they have some activities everyday which I recommend checking (sunrise cycling, cooking classes, etc). It is located on an island where not much can be done, but you really don’t need to leave the resort as everything is available and the staff there is always there to make sure nothing is missing, the worst part about the hotel was leaving, we stayed for 5 days and I can say it wasn’t enough.

Our Sea View Room – A Dream in Blue and Green
We stayed in a beautifully appointed sea view room, and waking up each morning to the panoramic vista of the ocean was truly magical. I would say the facility is excellent but the quality of service needs to be improved compared to the price and star given. Since the hotel area is large and needs a buggy for traveling from one place to another. Requests were received by staffs but there is no showed up for buggy and requests for other stuffs are quite slow and not yet impressive.

Excellent stay at Anantara Koh Yao Yai. The property is new (opened Oct ‘23), and brilliantly designed. We had our infant and toddler so chose a Grand Family Sea View suite, it was spacious, well equipped (even a children’s toilet!) and beautifully designed. Our toddler loved the bunk-bed with slide, and the hotel even added a few ride-on toys to play with.
Staff were friendly and helpful and the WhatsApp service was very useful for asking questions and making bookings.

Fantastic Resort, Mediocre Service and amenties

Koh Yao Yai - is underdeveloped island still; Anantara Resort has Beautiful surroundings and a stunning facility - no doubt! the kids pool is also a fun feature
but - although the staff is friendly, the service provided by this resort does not quite meet the 5-star standards expected. for example, receiving coffee capsules took almost an hour after requesting them in the morning. additionally, the food is overpriced and not particularly noteworthy. unfortunately, the restaurant service is quite slow, with food often arriving 40 minutes after being ordered, and sometimes even cold. this can be especially problematic for families with young children. The Stuff is received directive to try and charge the guests as much as possible- and every step you do on the resort- the try to sell you something; we do not mind to consume- but it has to be done a little bit more subtle..... also - a little bit more attentions to the guests - offering an umbrella when raining ,etc......
that being said- Anatara is still great and lovely; we are sure they will be gradually improving their services also in this resort;

New property, so one can expect the good and the bad that comes with it. Best thing about the Anantara Koh Yao Yai Resort is the staff. Genuinely friendly, and really put their heart into their daily routine. Top managers from the GM to the area managers are very professional, but the rest seem very young, and new.

Only negative I found during our family's 5 days stay was there was a group (Country's Dentist Association) occasion at the resort for 3 days, and all during the entire time, most of the front desk staff, including Concierge were busy taking care of their activities which negated regular customers. For example, they took over the entire resort lobby area and made it into their meeting room for 3 days. \"Lobby\" was moved to the next room which very small to handle all the regular customer's requests as the lines were often long. It was little frustrating at times as they seem to have plenty of staff available but most seem busy taking care of the event for the Dentist Association.

Resort's hardware is very well managed as with most first rate resorts around the world. With particular to this resort, I'd like to think the management will sort out the early kinks that comes with first year opening \"pain\".

Had a chance to meet the GM, Patrick who seem to have pulse to everything going on at the resort, and I am sure He will find a way to make this a first rate resort in Phuket, and in Koh Yao Yai Island.

Unfassbar schöne Anlage mit viel Liebe zum Detail. Wie die gesamte Insel kommen hier Ruhe suchende auf ihre Kosten. Tolles Frühstück, Abendessen hat uns jedoch nicht vollständig überzeugt. Sehr modernes und gutes Fitnessstudio, super Kinder Club, die kostenpflichtigen Aktivitäten waren jedoch viel zu überteuert, genauso das Spa, welches wir deshalb nicht genutzt haben. Einzig die Wasserqualität der Pools, vor allem des Kinderpools können wir bemängeln - es hat unsere komplette Badekleidung verfärbt und ruiniert. Andere Familien hatten dasselbe Problem. Das Team hat uns darauf eine Entschädigung angeboten

Ho soggiornato in questa struttura e nel complesso la mia esperienza è stata molto positiva.

La struttura è davvero bellissima, curata nei minimi dettagli e capace di offrire un’atmosfera rilassante ed elegante.

Uno dei punti di forza assoluti sono le camere: grandi, spaziose, ben arredate e molto confortevoli, ideali per chi cerca relax e comodità.

lo staff è super gentile e disponibile.

Il mare si trova proprio di fronte alla struttura, anche se purtroppo non è tra i migliori, in Thailandia si può trovare di molto meglio — ma chiaramente non è una responsabilità della struttura stessa.

L’unica pecca riguarda le attività: non sono molte e quelle disponibili hanno prezzi un po’ alti, il che limita un po’ le opzioni per chi vuole trascorrere più tempo all’interno del resort.

In ogni caso, resta un posto che consiglio assolutamente, soprattutto per la bellezza della struttura e la qualità delle camere.

Dette hotel var en af de bedste hoteller vi nogensinde har besøgt. Rammerne var gennemført lækre, og man mærkede tydeligt, at der var kælet for detaljerne. Hele opholdet føltes som en lille luksusboble, hvor man virkelig kunne koble af og nyde omgivelserne. Masser af rum til forskellige aktiviteter på hotellet og super lære og rene værelser.

Den største ulempe – og samtidig en del af charmen – er beliggenheden på en meget lille ø. Der er ingen Bolt eller Grab, så man er afhængig af de lokale taxaer, som kører rundt i små “ladvogne”. Det giver en mere autentisk og afslappet stemning, men betyder også, at man ikke bare lige smutter ud for at opleve byliv.

Om det er en fordel eller ulempe, afhænger helt af hvad man søger: Ønsker man ro, natur og ø-liv, er det helt perfekt. Vil man derimod have masser af restauranter, shopping og tempo, kan det føles lidt isoleret.

Alt i alt en fantastisk og mindeværdig oplevelse – ideel til dem, der vil forkæles og nyde ø-stemningen fuldt ud.

The rooms, the hotel and the food was 6-star rating. Amazing !

We unfortunately didn’t get the Thai-mentality/hospitality here. A lot of the staff seems like robots; doing the job. Other places in Thailand we enjoyed very much the smile and conversations with the staff - but here this has 0 interest. And hey, that’s a choice they made and for some that’s most likely very good.

We gave our feedbacks and I’m disappointed in how their Customer Experience Support is handling it. Basically writing all the right things - but no action.

We were greeted very nicely good bye by the staff, but we feel like the culture in this hotel is broken and for us that’s the main reason of not coming back again.

Havde booket et værelse med havudsigt og fik et værelse med udsigt til en børnerutchebane og træer. Det er var en dårlig start på opholdet. Efter 1 nat fik vi et værelse med havudsigt som var rigtigt fint. Men besværligt og super ærgerligt at bruge tid på det.
Personalet er virkligt venligt og imødekommende. Rengøring er ok. Jeg kommer ikke tilbage.
