I want to preface by saying our stay was fine, and if we were travelling without a 2 year old I don't think we would have been bothered.

However, this hotel has certainly had it's day. We were in a room in the older section, which faced onto the pool. The door did not have the ability to be locked from the inside other than a chain, which was long enough that our 2 year old could get through the gap and to the pool if they desired. This was a bit of a concern.

The room was dated, but ok. Not the cleanest, but not terrible. Air conditioner wasn't great so we did get quite hot.

The gardens around the hotel are lovely and well maintained. Very peaceful.

The staff were amazing. I cannot fault them and we loved seeing them every day. They were so kind and helpful.

Breakfast was nothing special but did the job.

The photos/description of the hotel said there was a large playground for kids, which was a main reason we booked it. This playground is not there any more. There is 1 swing, quite rusted, and nothing else. There is a small \"kids club\" room, which, again, was nothing special.

The pools did need some maintenance and the large pool had a number of broken tiles/dangerous elements.

Overall, I think it is ok as a budget stay, and if you're not too fussy about amenities, cleanliness or wanting to spend too much time at the hotel/in your room. I don't recommend it for families with young children, however older kids would probably manage fine.

We loved the studio room - huge and very tastefully appointed (quite Balinese). Huge bed and good AC. Staff were always super friendly and helpful. Excellent value for money for a beachside resort in this popular area.

We didn’t use any of the facilities. The cleanliness of the room was disgusting.
Mould in the bathroom. Dirty tissues behind the bed. Stains on the mattress & pillows. Rubbish in the garden around our room.
Checked out after the 1st night.

For the price it was a fantastic location and the staff were lovely. The hotel itself is now quite old and rundown and needs work done. There was only one powerpoint in the room which didn't work so not ideal for charging phones etc, the wifi didn't work in the room so you had to sit outside, again not ideal in the humidity, on two of the four days there was no towel available for us to use at the pool. Things like this could be addressed easily andmake the stay ever better.

Fantastic hotel, great position, walk across the rd to the beach for great coffee and great meals. Walk out the front to great shopping. Staff were so friendly and extremely helpful in every way especially Amelia at reception. We will definitely be back.

The garden and pools were great. Unfortunately the rooms have not been maintained very well at all. No shower rails no safe. The staff were excellent could not fault them. The breakfast was not very good, needs to have more variety. The hotel is in a great location but it needs more maintenance it has such great potential .

The property is an absolute disgrace!!!!!
It is tired, filthy and so unkept. NOTHING at all like the pictures.
Sheets are brown, towels are brown. Cob webs swinging from the ceiling that is covered in mould.
bathrooms are absolutely filthy.
The pool has a nice ring of scum around the tiles. The breakfast is just so poor its not funny.
Please your options and as you get what you have payed for!!!!!!!!

Hotel 2 star at best needs a lot of updating

I have been staying there annually for more than 13 years but it has declined drastically since COVID I asked for ground floor but put on first floor luckily it had a ramp but was only for 2 nights then changed to ground floor. The first room we were in we’ve stayed in before and the bathroom door still gets stuck not fixed after constant feedback of 3 years. Bedding and towels need replacing very washed out and grey with holes. Breakfast below average. Gardens used to be beautiful now neglected and needs a good clean out. 2nd room we stayed in the entrance door very difficult to close and a few days later the bed collapsed but great service in the way that after contacting reception they fixed both problems within 5 minutes. Cafe on street entrance had bad service had to wait 40 min for food that was overpriced for such small tasteless serves. We won’t eat there again. Tv reception very poor and only a few channels needs smart tvs. Most hotels now have them. Needs painting. The pools are terrific. The staff were great and the surrounding area we love the shopping eateries are spot on but not sure if we will be back there’s a lot of well priced nice accommodation close by

See Trip Advisor. Black mould ceiling in bathroom, cracked basin, dirty bath and shower, putrid stained old mattress and stained mattress protector, no pool towels for days, dirty kettle, previous guests food left in dirty fridge. Beligerent manager. He lied to us 3 times about being fully booked and only having the rooms ge showed us. We asked for a room with some power points as we bith have CPAP machines to sleep with. He said they didnt have any rooms. Our friend then complained at 9pm when she saw the state of her mattress. 30yrs old and stained and black mould! Suddenley they were being shifted! When we saw they had a powerpoint right next to the bed i said why wasnt i offered this room. They suddenley said you can.have the room next door. They showed us 2 rooms before the moukdy mattress episode and giving us a long power cord to drape over the dusty bedhead. Then they give us what we had asked for. No assistance with baggage at all. Our room didnt have any towels so i returned yo teception. The manager just said find the room cleaner. Its a big hotel! I had to climb to the 3rd floor and look for their trolley.Pool is dirty with black tiles and thick grease ring around it. Bread mouldy at breakfast. Not worth the money we paid. This hotel should be removed from Wotif!!!!!!!! I wanted to contact you and ask for our mo wy to be transferred to another Hotel but you dont have an assistance line!

Worst breakfast I have ever come across in a hotel, stale pastries and cakes, not a good variety in fruit.
TV didn’t work, no hot water, aircon didn’t work and fridge froze everything, moved to another room at my expense,

Very run down, dirty. Rooms are mostly, bathrooms rusty and mould. Water either running cold or extremely boiling hot. Phone in room not connected. No pool towels or bath towels, when you get them, they are damp and smelly. Would not recommend staying here!!!!

I made two bookings. One for friends and one for ourselves.
Our room was supposed to be Deluxe and was a disgrace.
Neither the shower in the bath or the stand alone shower had hot water even after running it for 25 minutes. Shower heads were broken so would have been unusable anyway. Toilet seat was falling off and bathroom in total state of decay and lack of cleaning or maintenance.
Bedding stunk like old sweat and looked like the sheets weren’t clean.
We were downgraded the next day to a Superior room where we had hot water in the bath shower but the stand alone shower head was unusable due to being old and corroded. Toilet wouldn’t flush properly so we made do using a bucket. The whole bathroom was a disgrace and had to prise up the plug to empty the vanity sink.
Bedding smelt like dirty tea towels even after a linen change so I resorted to taking them to local laundry bi daily to be cleaned. Blanket was dirty. Bought our own pillows and protectors as the supplied ones were stained and one had mould.
Declined daily cleaning in the end as they were in land out in 5 mins and floors were never mopped. Bought cleaning supplies and cleaned myself.
The staff were generally nice but seemed very defeated so I’m guessing it’s a management issue that the resort is so unkempt and filthy.
We have been to Bali close to 30 times staying in various classes of hotel and this was the worst we’ve ever encountered. Couldn’t move hotels as no refund available.

The Melasti Beach Resort & Spa is a great hotel to stay at considering the price per night. Inside the room 110 is quite large and spacious. Living room with separate bedroom and bathroom with 1 shower and 1 bathtub/shower. The property grounds are immaculate and clean. The only negative thing I can say is about the bathroom. The water does not drain well in the sink or either of the shower areas. The water pressure is about as good as you can expect being in Bali but it did work well the entire visit. The water from the showers will get all over the floor each time you take a shower so an extra towel or 2 can do the job. The room was cleaned at excatly the same time each day around 11am. The property and the staff are all great and make your stay very easy going. Very easy check in and check out. The hotel goes all the way back to legian beach and has every you can imagine at the front of the property off Jl padma utara so you really can walk anywhere you want to. Very accessible location and Im sure i will always go back to this Hotel in the future.

Please avoid this motel at all costs. There is mould in the rooms, and the smell smacks you in the face when you walk in the door. The hot water system does not work in a majority of the rooms. The whole resort needs an immediate upgrade. The outside requires repair, and a paint job would not go astray. The grounds were overrun with long grass and weeds. I was at reception one morning when another guest came up and advised that he and his wife received an electric shock when they went to turn on the shower. Rooms are not restocked or cleaned properly. It took them three days to clean our bath and basin and we constantly had to request clean towels. Included breakfast, which we paid for, was very basic. The toaster was from the dark ages and not sure if it was safe to use at all. We ended up utilising the wonderful restaurants and bars in the vicinity. There is no spa with this \"resort and spa\". The air conditioners are set up right outside your door and drip water all over the tiles along the walkway which makes it extremely slippery.
The staff are amazing and tried to rectify the issues we had.
A lot of time and money needs to be spent on this resort to bring it back to its original state. Definitely deceiving photos on the website. SO many more beautiful places to stay in the vicinity around the same price we paid for this run-down resort.

The property is NOT fit for human inhabitants…dangerously mouldy, dirty, main swim up pool very dirty n mouldy.. ALL water connected to hotel is SALT, (as discussed with management) 3 room changes, to get a flashing toilet. The pictures are not true of the Resort, no play area for kids..very run down..
Breakfast…hmmm if you happy with eggs not a problem, sausages served once a week (no bacon at all) we ate there 3 mornings out of 6, gardens are no longer maintained (except for the entrance)

This place was run down, gardens overgrown, rats by the pool area, only half lights and power points worked in the room. Floors were filthy. Sheets had holes in them. Towels stained. Air conditioning sub par. Rooms needed painting. Windows did not open so rooms smelt stale. Toilet broke and took 3 calls to get fixed only to have it flood and then explode.Toilet water all over the place! In room phone didn’t work. I left 5 days early. I tried to get a refund on day 1 after looking at 3 rooms, no surprise, they said no. By day 5 after the toilet business i had to leave. I lost so much money. The worst hotel and experience ever. Looked nothing like the pictures. I am surprised that Expedia has anything to do with this place. Unhygienic and unhealthy.

We enjoyed our stay at Melasti! We stayed for 7 nights in a family suite with our 2 children and the room set up was perfect for a family of 4. Our room was tidied everyday, new towels and bottled water provided. The hotel has a small mini mart at the front to purchase extra larger bottles water. The property is in a great location right on the beach front and has many dining and shopping options close by. Also, many tattoo and beauty parlours. The facilities aren't \"5-star\", in terms of a few bits and pieces are run down, but for the price and location, it didn't bother us at all. The 3 pool areas kept our kids happy and 2 pools have swim-up bars to order food and drinks. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. My mother stayed at the resort also, and was placed in a room far away from us and rhe aircon wasnt working very well. She raised her concerns with staff, and the next day they were able to move her to a room closer to us and with a better aircon. Staff do eveything they can to help.

Facilities were great, we all enjoyed the pools. The rooms were spacious but quite dated.

Sadly, not our best stay here on this occasion.

I’ve stayed here many times over the years but not in December. Unfortunately the weather was poor in Bali during my stay. The condition of the hotel has deteriorated a lot and the breakfast standard has dropped substantially. I think this is because of a drop in cliental bookings. All of Bali seemed quieter. The staff here always wonderful but the facilities sadly are poor. Electricity kept tripping in one of our rooms. Hot water was not always available. At on stage there was no water for the whole day. One room had rats inside the room eating behind the wardrobe.

Great hotel if maintenance was finished

We got there an hour early but was told our room was ready we thought great but when we got there the door was stuck and had to push so hard to open and went inside it hadn’t been cleaned and the aircon was not on so we put our cases in our room and contacted reception and they came to clean so we went off for lunch. When we got back it was nice and tidy but the aircon still wasn’t working only hot air blowing out we tried to fix and sort of worked but asked someone to check it out so we went out for awhile but when we got back it was nice and cool. Tired and a bit irritated I sat down to watch tv but only 7channels of static we couldn’t watch anything. Lucky I had my iPad to watch Netflix. Wifi is excellent a pity they don’t have smart tv . Also it was annoying that 1 of the pools was closed for maintenance it was was my favourite which wasn’t shown on your website when I booked. Also the bathroom door kept getting stuck as well. A bit of maintenance wouldn’t go astray

Didn’t like the work being carried out around one of the pools, from 7.30 am to 10pm they don’t give a dam about the people staying there, have to walk over mud & rubble to get in and out if your room, room door hard to lock. I wouldn’t recommend this property to my worst enemy. The photos are completely fabricated. The rooms are run down, air con doesn’t work and there is an enormous amount of mould throughout the bathrooms. The shower leaks all over the floor and doesn’t drain anywhere. So the slip hazard is crazy! The bathrooms are also “recycled” ocean water, so if you are after having a nice refreshing shower don’t bet on it. I was covered in a rash from my duration staying there from the tap water. The hotel would pop fresh bottle of drinking water in our rooms daily. The second day I was there mine had a dirty Bandaid stuck to it. My friends room had a rat in it on 2 different nights. I booked a total of 9 nights here with friends and asked for a refund for the last 4 so I could stay somewhere else to actually enjoy my holiday and they refused. I would never step foot in this hotel ever again.

I would stay here again because it is on the beach, and the room was huge,the pool is amazing, easy access to shopping.
The rooms could do with a bit of an upgrade, the shower curtains are discusting, (I would stay again but take my own shower curtains lol)
Our balcony overlooked the pool, I had a Superior Room, I would recommend getting this room out of them all and try and stay on the secon floor as you dont have everyone walking past and you have a lovely view of the pool.

I paid for an early check in at 9am for 3 rooms . We received the keys for the rooms at 12pm only to have 2 of the rooms not cleaned yet and still in the dirty condition from previous guests . The rooms were not ready until after 2pm and they still tried to charge me for early check in

The bathrooms had mould all around the showers and the toilets were broken and needed someone to fix them every day

Their is no spa / massage facilities at the hotel like stated in the name or the description

The buffet breakfast is extremely limited nobody wants salad and garlic bread for breakfast

You can not exchange money at the hotel you can only do it out on the street

Was charged $4.80 for ice

Over all thought I was getting a nice relaxing holiday were I would not have to leave the hotel as everything would be there but spent very little time relaxing there at all

Would not recommend this place at all save you money and go elsewhere

Resort and Villas are in urgent need of a facelift. Air conditioners not working, very poor water pressure, roof tiles, missing, cracked or broken, drains not letting water out of showers. Ponds with stagnant dirty water. Very few if any pool towels. Couldn't fault the staff though, they were amazing as always and food was also fantastic.

Good value for money , aircon perfect, fridge worked, excellent hot water, bed was ok room was clean. Breakfast had huge range and overlooked the beach. Good pools , SUPER AWESOME STAFF who found my airpods 💓💓💓 just a lovely stay...heads up to the security boys at the front gate you lads are gold.

Unfortunately our room wasn't very clean on arrival, had trouble with the TV, fridge and the water pressure in the shower was terrible. Would be good if the bathrooms were updated in every area of the resort. I found the cleaning staff very kind and always helpful.
