Clean spacious rooms, friendly staff, cheap, breakfast available and shops near by. I stayed here in 2018 and the property has gone downhill since I last stayed. Bathrooms are in major need of a renovation.

Needs to be updated.Breakfast was good and staff were very helpful and always provided great service when needed.Location was good but noisy construction right next door every day..bit annoying..overall hotel 6/10..

The idea of \"service\" is non existant. No we cannot do that or this. Staff just not interested.
Down a long dirty lane, about 500m from the street.
Walls made of cardboard and spit. You can here the farts from next door. Old run down hotel. Never again.

The hotel was clean and well presented. Staff were pleasant. The clothes rack in the room was not full height and fell down, and it was disappointing to be charged for a teaspoon when checking out. All in all, a good budget hotel.

The location was excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. The condition of the rooms could have been better and the linen and towels provided was average.
The meals available from the restaurant were good but very limited in alcoholic beverages. The pool area was great and the fact that it wasn’t a huge resort meant noise was kept to a minimum.

The entrance steps to high, no handrail, no dissable ramp, It is 5min walk through a very untidy lane to shops, 15min to beach through a very narrow lane. The bath room needs update,very tired, no hot water in sink, towels & sheets smelly

Good location and price but I would not stay here again. One staff member was outstanding the following morning but the afternoon we arrived they were very unhelpful. Most staff seem jaded. Rooms need a revamp and we had paid extra for a deluxe room, but average. However water pressure in shower was good as was size of room.

Good Start in Bali

This is a quality hotel at budget prices, the staff especially Imelda were so helpful and happy. The rooms had comfy beds, great shower pressure with loads of hot water, good breakfast, good location, good pool and friendly guests - definitely no hesitation in recommending or returning here.

Perfect Legian hidden gem

The Bali Chaya was a pleasant surprise! So clean and fresh. Bed was comfortable and linen was great quality. We had a ground floor room backing onto the pool and I was loved the fact we could pop out the door and have a swim. Pool was chrystal clear at all times perfect temperature, not warm like some pools in Bali. Service was great, respectful of your privacy and relaxation and the staff were there when you needed them. I will be going back here next visit for sure. It was very very quite for a hotel so close to the hustle and bustle of Legian

Bali chaya is in a central area, good location, breakfast was good, great shower with really hot water.

At check in they told me they didn't have any rooms available with double bed... i booked it 6 months in advance... the sheets, towels and shower curtain were stained... i don't expect much when i pay that price but i at least want a clean bed and towels...

This hotel is central to all amenities.
It does require new towels and sheets as towels are way over due for replacement.
Shower could do with a really good clean as there is mould in the grout.
Bed is hard as concrete.
You get what you pay for.

Small and compact Hotel. The pool is great but small. The Restuarant is next to the pool as shown in the photos. The staff are great and very friendly. The only downside is the towels. They need to replace them throughout (they are in the process) as they are badly stained. We used the pool towels instead and had a great stay. Very reasonably priced.

The hotel grew on me. My first impressions fro outside were great. Although it did seem smaller than in the pictures. The room needed a little tlc in my opinion. The shower curtain was stained, the bedding we had on our first night was stained, we had a balcony but there was nowhere to sit on it...just small things that grouped together could have made a massive difference.

Been to Bali 25 times first time at the Bali Chaya

clean rooms clean hotel, friendly staff, breakfast ok , super clean pool but mostly in shade and only 6 lounge chairs.
Construction next door but minor noise.
Very comfortable bed , great tv , had lots of early nights and slept very well.
Staff is very friendly and helpful.
I would recommend this hotel for people who have been to Bali before and are on the go during the day. I would not recommend it for people who prefer to sit around the pool to relax and read etc. the pool space is very small, hardly any garden. Not much sun.

You need to teach Liza the writer customer service... she need to learn how to listen to her customers and be friendly... oatmeal You need to change your towels it's dirty white already and old. You need to repaint and make it smell like home... im not happy when i saw yhe roon so my husband got ame another hotel at swiss bell. Check it out well maintained friendly people. Was good. Is still under construction. Was no milk in the room. When my milk arrived what i ask for it was in a cup with a big chip out on the side. No milk jugs? Had American break fast was bad not worth the money. Crumble eggs with 1 small slice bacon and tomato sause in a packed. 4 slices of bread.

Quiet comfortable hotel. Down an alleyway away from the hustle and bustle. Felt safe walking down the alleyway at night as security along there although a little uneven due to speed bumps and drainage pipes. Staff were all lovely and requests were no problem. Close to eateries or can eat on site. Would stay again.

Good Budget hotel

Good cheap hotel that's close to everything. Good and friendly service. I asked for a double bed during booking but when I got there, they couldn't facilitate the request. Room was clean, good size and not small, but toilet/bath was bit run down - rooms also came with balcony. Hotel was quiet with a nice pool. Breakfast didn't have a big choice but it was fine for me - lots of places to eat around if you didn't want brekky there. Hotel was about 150m off the main street so away from the noise and traffic. There were building construction going on next to hotel but I couldn't hear any undue noises. Location was fantastic with all types of shops in walking distance. Beach was a short 10min walk too. Overall for what I paid it was a decent hotel and I give it 4/5 stars.

Hotel strangely situated but nicely located. Cramped entry space for arrival by car. Check in staff was very welcoming. Lisa was very accommodating in changing my room to the second floor. Very service oriented.
Breakfast was order off the set menu with great service. Did not get his name, but the young slim waiter for breakfast ALWAYS had the sunshine smile and so welcoming. Would highly recommend him.

Excellent semi-budget hotel!

My husband and I stayed at Bali Chaya for 5 nights and loved it! For a semi-budget hotel, it is excellent! The rooms are clean and in good repair with daily housekeeping, air-conditioning, fridge, safe and queen size bed. The pool is lovely and although not large, it was very clean. There are only a few sun lounges, but it's a small hotel, so to be expected. We only ate breakfast once at the restaurant and it was nice. The only negatives were that the mattress was way too hard and I had a sore back and hips from it during my entire stay and the pool only has sun for only a small part of the morning. Hotel is in an excellent location and in walking distance to lots of eating, shopping and massage places. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Overall ok. Fine is you just want a base. Location is good 5-10mins to beach.
Cheap and cheerful. Would give breakfast a miss though, not worth thd extra - go to Coco cafe at end of road instead. Also if you are a woman travelling solo, then be aware that the hotel is down the end of a very long street alley way which at night I found a bit creepy! There is a security booth half way

Loved Bali Chaya

Loved everything about this hotel. The location is fantastic, close to the beach via laneway past Poco Loco, and close to Legian Street via the AQVA. The staff were honest, friendly and helpful. We went out for dinner one night and accidently left the doors to the pool wide open. Nothing was taken from our room. The aircondioning worked well, the wifi was reliable both by the pool and in our room. The pool gets sun all day. The room as clean and the bed comfortable. Would highly recommend Bali Chaya

Very friendly staff. Good breakfast-- choice of 6 off menu. There are 72 SATV channels and around 55 are in English ( lots of movie channels) Internet was fine. Can charge meals, drinks to room. Laundry Service available at reasonable price. Hotel is set back from street about 100 yards in an alleyway which is perfectly safe to walk at night. Lots of restaurants and bars very close by. Can also walk through AQ-VA Hotel ( 2 minutes) to take shortcut to another street. Pool is clean and warm. Beach about 10-15 walk away.

Welcoming staff. Room big and clean. Bathroom clean. Small balcony but no table or chairs. Good tv with many channels, good wifi, safe, fridge and bottled water. Breakfast ok. Elevator. Located in a narrow street of the main road, quiet at night. Have the map from your reservation handy. Did not use the pool.

Quiet hotel for a good price

A nice, clean and well-equipped room. Plenty of channels on tv. Aircon placed well in the room. Shower head needs cleaning, but nice water pressure. Great balcony without chairs? Staff rented me a scooter even though I was not allowed to drive - was stopped by police, I know the corruption, but I asked if I was allowed.
Pool is a bit dirty from leaves and so.
But great hotel, ok location, friendly staff and good price.

Wonderful budget hotel.

I would definately stay here again. Room 201 Deluxe Suite. Is 5 minutes to the beach, Mozarella, Bintang supermarket. Down a lane amongst the hustle of legian but is super quiet, no roosters crowing, no loud music thumping at the hotel or surrounds. Still plays the lovely traditional balinese music in the mornings at breakfast which is wonderful.
Very clean for a budget hotel.
The meals are small and not great, definately could be improved but they dont cost much. The breakfast is set and you cant swap and change menu items, we didnt go hungry but it wasnt great. The bathroom in the deluxe suite is get in and get out small, the shower has a shower curtain which i dont like as they stick to you when u shower, yuk. Some towels are grey some are not, this didnt bother us because everything else is so good.
The room is very spacious and beds very comfortable. Roll away bed not so comfortable for an adult because you can feel the springs but fine for our 5 year old. We all slept really well here. No dvd player in the room, it costs 50000rp p/d if u want one. The pool is small and clean and suited us for this holiday.
Lovely friendly hotel staff; relaxed and smiling.
I usually go upmarket resort style but I wanted a cheap quick holiday. I would definately stay here again and definately recommend it for others on a budget.

The hotel is in a good condition clean, new, nice pool and polite staff but wifi didn't work in the room. The staff said it's under maintenance which upset me a lot. The location is difficult to find in the little alley. They should provide a shuttle service at least.

Decent but hard to find budget resort hotel

This is a decent lower-to-mid-range property with decent rooms in a very hard to find location somewhat far from anything. I don't recommend it based mainly on the location down the end of a hard to find alley off of a back street far from the beach or any shopping. The pool is very nice and the common areas are OK. There is a decent small bar and cafe, although the noise bleeds over into the rooms which look down on it. The rooms are good and have nice baths and good TV choices in English. Overall a decent hotel but just too far from anything to be a good value.

We stayed in the junior suite for a week and it was beautiful! The location of Ananta is only a 10 minute walk fr then each and not even a 5 minute walk from shops and the hotel itself is great! The staff are always smiling and very welcoming! Would return 10/10!

Fairly New Hotel

As this hotel is fairly new the rooms are in a good condition and are clean and comfortable, the bathroom is very small and the shower cubicle way too small. The shower head is very large consequently you have to wash your hair at each shower. There is only one key supplied to each room so if you are a couple very difficult to go your own way, also the air-con goes off whenever you take out the key. The breakfast is well below average, though the staff are very welcoming. The adage you get what you pay for comes to mind, good for short stay only.

Great value for money

I honestly couldn't complain about our stay at Bali Chaya Hotel, for the price we paid ($25 a night) it had everything we needed- a new, clean room with air conditioning, direct pool access, wifi & breakfast.
The hotel still is undergoing work & there's construction next door so if you're looking for somewhere to just relax by the pool this may not be for you.
Also be aware that you may need to ask the staff to make up your room- they won't do it automatically. That said, every request we made for anything & everything was met with a smile & taken care of. The service is excellent- if not proactive!
Breakfast is quite meagre, but again - you're paying $25 a night. What do you expect?!

For what we paid, it was excellent. The neighbourhood was dark and hard to find. Shower area is a little small. Everything else was fantastic. Room was new ,clean and enough space for everything. Breakfast was delicious. Clean towel and clean sheets everyday. Pool was clean and nice. Beach towels provided. Reasonably close to walk to beach. Bali the town does not have much to offer if you are not the drinking, partying type. Out-of-town, Bali is really beautiful and has lots of attractions. We enjoyed the day long tours in the mountains. Bali beaches are dirty with lots of garbage brought by the currents.
We enjoyed Bali very much. Will definitely be back to Bali as well as Bali Chaya Hotel.

I stayed with my family for three nights, the hotel was really good. Specially rooms are very good and clean. Well maintained
Staff responds quickly with very good friendly manner. Breakfast had three different menu, good food but the amount of food was not enough per person. Swimming pool is maintained well.
We can find lot of shops in walking distance and beach is very close.
Over all it’s a good place to stay and recommend for other peoples
