Staff were super excellent. Some room AC units are tired and now no longer suitable for Bali conditions. Rooms with new AC units a must if cool sleep conditions are to be achieved.
Roaming cats on the property howling at night not ideal for sleep.

We only stayed one night because our flights were cancelled and then delayed. So this review isn't comprehensive. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Free breakfast was included in the price and was ok but the portions were small as it wasn't a buffet, but they took your order. The coffee was very good, but if you wanted anything other than Bali coffee it was an extra charge. A nice one night stay, the bed was very comfortable. Our room has a locked adjoining door and the guests next door could clearly be heard.

This is my third time here. There will be a fourth, fifth, and a 6th.

The grounds are closer to a resort than a hotel...it doesn't look like it has ocean access from the Google Maps, but it actually is much closer you realize.... the breakfast is great.

But the super nice people really make this place amazing. I never leave reviews anywhere but this place is worth.

The old worldly Bali vibe here is what we lije. It’s not your four seasons , Hyatt. Type place and we like it for that.
Rooms are rustic but clean, air con works, porch with a couch, cold fridge and mos of all the staff are genuinely and giving. The Balinese are wonderful souls and that shows through here.

The food offering could improve a tad and the pool area could be monitored a bit better against the lounge hogs who drop towels on 6 lounges then disappear for hours on end. It’s a real pet hate of mine. Come, stay, dip in the pool or walk across the narrow street. Yo the beach and jump in the ocean. It’s a 1/2 hour stroll north to Seminyak or south to Kuta so well situated.

Place is lovely and peaceful. Always clean and staff are lovely. It’s close to many restaurants beauty salons shops and right on the beach. We will always stay here when coming to Bali. My only fault would be that I would of liked a bigger range of breakfast options even a buffet would be great.

Highly recommend the Puri Raja - it is central to shopping and so many eateries. The hotel is beautiful and kept immaculately clean. The staff are lovely and very helpful and the rooms generous sized and very comfortable. We loved it here.

Our experience at the Puri Raja was a good one and i want to be fair and objective for them and for fellow travelers.
the property was going through some kind of renovation project and in Bali that means a bit of a mess. the construction guys were polite and respectful about their noise impact but it did lessen the experience somewhat.
first. the bed was great! slept great. the sheets were a tad old and could use replacing. small things like not cleaning our wine glasses were noticed but the timing of room clean was handled very well.
the pool area was nice, the lounges are a bit old and in need of updating but that was ok. the easy access straight on to Legian beach was exactly what we were looking for. Breakfast was limited but satisfying to us. dinner wasnt so great but the proximity to great food in every direction made that a non event anyway.
this is Bali and this is not a 5 star hotel so allowances for somethings like inconsistency in service must be expected. :-)
the staff were all smiles and very friendly. if you want a 5 star experience they are available. If you want a more organic experience that still feels like Bali and not a resort you could find anywhere, the Puri Raja suits the bill.
when it was time to leave, we were extended in our room far beyond what i hoped for and for that we are very thankful to the manager.

Some of the staff were great , others no so .Drinks were way to expensive $4 .50 for a Bintang!!! Cocktails expensive and your free drink consisted of arak a $2 drink on the street!!
We paid for a upgrade only to be put opposite rooms that were being renovated- noise all day!! We were not advised renervation were being done on our dates - this should have been noted for people booking in these dates!!
Bali is not good value anymore- stay home and sport local business!!

The property is okay, with the location excellent. The rooms are clean, but it is a large complex, being long and narrow with reception some distance form the pool and restaurant area. Not really a big issue. The pool (near the restaurant) is nice but the whole area is quite small which makes it quite noisy with a few people drinking in the pool bar. Breakfast was okay, but not a buffet, and you order off the menu, then help yourself to fruit. My biggest problem was the construction going on outside my room which I wasn't advised of prior to booking. It was very noisy and disruptive. The staff didn't seem to care to much, so I checked out and went somewhere else which was much quieter. I probably wouldn't go back due to the pool area being so small, but it was an okay hotel, possibly a ,little over priced.

Great location, loved the ocean view whilst eating breakfast. Close to some fantastic restaurants and Mugshot Cafe around the corner has the best ice coffee I have ever had. Shower water pressure could be improved, but over all, loved our stay and will be back.

I literally only stayed for one evening as I had a late flight and used hotel for late check out. Staff treated me as if I was as important as any long standing guest - very friendly reception from all the staff and that was most appreciated. the room was simple but adequate and the beachside bar is the perfect place to watch the sunset

Nice hotel in Legian. We really enjoyed the private, quite Road in front of the hotel. You can walk to most places you would want to go in 30 minutes or less. The two pools at the hotel are great and the breakfast is very generous.

A great 3 Star hotel in a central location.
The staff are always extremely obliging and hospitable.
The breakfast is very adequate.
The rooms although a little dated are clean and comfortable. The wi-fi at times could be a bit slow.
The two pools meant that there was always a deck chair for a couple.
On leaving it only took thirty minutes to reach the airport.

I spilt water on tiles-when wipes up with tissue it was black.
Cleaners made a big point of telling us they had cleaned the room whole time & were having next day off-felt like they wanted a tip as they waited for our response
Had to request fly/mosquito spray for the room-should be standard in all rooms.
Paid bill 10 pm night before leaving & was then asked to pay more when returning key . They hadn’t processed the days invoices until the next morning-annoying & delayed.

Took us a day to decide we did like the Puri Raja due to them not finding our Hotel.com booking. It took about 4 hours to sort out and get type of room we required. We liked having breakfast beach side but prefer buffet as there was limited choice. Not to have your order taken by wait staff, as sometimes they would forget you were the new person that had sat down and take other orders until they were reminded that we had been there for a while. The bed was comfortable, clean room, and although we had a dripping air con, it took 2 days for it to be fixed, due to the first time the repairer didn't fix the problem and we had to listen to the drip over the door for those nights. Thank goodness for air plugs. Having come from the Baleka at half the cost I was disappointed in this hotel. On a good note Front of house staff very friendly.

Lots of issues, had to keep repeatedly asking for things to get fixed (fridge was fixed 5 times til i insisted on a new one), mattresses were old and uncomfy (they ended up getting us new ones). Shower had mould, and bar pool had two rats running around. Was recommended by a friend , and they even said how bad it was last time they visited too.

Stayed Puri Raja for 10 nights. Great location. Right on the beach. Walking distance to great restaurants and shopping. Room are clean beds are comfortable. Air conditioner cold. Breakfast was cooked as you ordered. Staff were friendly. 2 pools one with swim up bar. Would definitely recommend.

The rooms are a little bit small and dated. Bathrooms only have a shower in the bath. Depending on your requirements, choices of Breakfast each day was limited, but having said that, the location is excellent as there are many excellent restaurants within a short walking distance. The two pools are very good. The one thing that stood out for us was the staff. We have stayed at many places over the years, but I can say without any reservation, that the staff at Puri Raja would rank amongst the best we have ever encountered. After day one they addressed us by our first names, were very polite and nothing was too much trouble. We would certainly recommend the Puri Raja to anyone who is looking for a very friendly place, which is not upmarket and pretentious, to spend their holiday and just relax and enjoy. Oh, by the way, the beach is only ten metres across the road.

Hadn’t stayed at this hotel for a few years, pleased to see the upgraded dining area. What a beautiful way to have breakfast. The staff at Puri Raja are fantastic, especially the cocktail bar staff in the pool bar! Lol! Really missed the intimacy of a smaller hotel when we moved.

Overall the hotel was ok. The property grounds were some of the best I've seen and even compete with hotel properties I've stayed in, in Hawaii. But the interior is what I had an issue with. The best thing the hotel can do to improve their overall quality is, use a strong name brand bleach product. Some of the sheets and towel were a bit dated and started to show a brown worn look to them. The tub could use a better cleaning as well. The breakfast was amazing and provided a good selection of food to chose from. The breakfast area overlooked the beach which was an added bonus. The location was good with many shops and restaurants within walking distance. Overall though, I would probably stay here again and would recommend this place.

We had a lovely stay in this small hotel, the staff were lovely and the proximity to the beach and shopping was excellent. The rooms aren’t huge and are in need of some maintenance, but were clean and tidy. The breakfast selection wasn’t huge, but adequate.

We always go back here as it is a lovely hotel, friendly staff, surf out the front , beautiful breakfast and great massages .Only negative was the massage area has been moved from the beach front location to near the lobby - lacks the atmosphere BUT still great massage ladies . We know the area well and it is easy walking to Kuta or Seminyak and there are loads of shops / restaurants to cater for everyone.

Classic older style hotel. Great beachfront location; eat breakfast looking at the ocean. Enjoy the morning beach walks and the sunsets in a beanbag at a local beach bar. The hotel has updated the restaurant and our breakfast options were more than adequate. Lovely staff. My only comment is that the bathrooms look a little tired but they are clean as are the rooms. No problems.

This hotel is in a great spot and overlooks the beach at breakfast. The staff were all gorgeous and hard working.

The hotel has steep stairs to the lobby both entrances (coming into the hotel and then walking out of the lobby to your accommodation). Any person who wasn’t sure footed I would not recommend to stay here.

The room was very tired... the towels were stained and really needed to be thrown out. The beds were ok but the pillows also felt old and thin. I’ve stayed at different hotels and been to Bali for 8 trips. I would not stay at this hotel again unfortunately.
