Good hotel

My experience with the hotel was all good. It is situated between sejinyak and Kuta. Walking distance to Kuta beach is app. 3 km. Walking distance to Seminyak is about 2 km. I love walking thus good experience.
Cleanliness could be better.
Very suppritve staff.
Allover good experience.

I guess you get what you pay for, the staff were very nice, but the hotel is old, they offered wifi that wasn't working, the sheets and towels were old, the pillows a bit smelly, the quality of the breakfast buffet was not very good. The location was good, walking distance to different local shops and small restaurants.

The Hotel:
Pretty decent place within the heart of Legian. Close to the beach, but you are going through traffic to get here. Main street is packed, and getting a taxi to come in or out will take some time. The hotel itself is going through some renovations at the time of this review so expect some construction/dust.

Amenities:
The \"Spa\" is non existent. They re-purposed a generic room and turned it into a massage center so even though the massages are cheap, I didn't get one.

The wifi is actually pretty solid for Bali. Better connection here than most places I've stayed. But it's still Bali, so still subpar compared to the rest of the world.

We had a pleasant stay overall. This hotel is in the quiet side of Seminyak area which very hips and the center of nightlife’s and nightclubs. Only 5mins walk to enjoy sunsets at the double six beach, and lots and lots of nightlife bars and family restaurants within one minute walk from our hotel. Our family room has direct access to the pool, just two steps from our glass doors. (That doesn’t mean, other rooms in second and others floor don’t have access, it’s just farther). There’s a bar, that is literally in the middle of the pool to serve you food or cocktails while you’re swimming or just hanging around. The only negative is the hotel maintenances. Lots of things that seems obvious and need to be repaired. The lobby’s wall need to be wiped down, the little pond next to restaurant need to be cleaned. We’re eating breakfast, but the water is kind of not moving and gross, even with the camouflaged waterfalls on, so it’s kind of ruined our view. Breakfast selections is so so. If you’re foreigners, expect coffee and slice of bread with jams, and bowl of fruits. The faucets in our room is super hard to manouver, the towels are like old towels, as well as tv quality, all are so old. We went up to 7th fl to see the rooftop. No service, no bar. Not sure, but I was there August 2019, it wasn’t open and hasn’t been opened for quite sometimes (the front desk told us). The staff was amazingly friendly and accommodating.

Good value for money. Would normally stay somewhere bit bigger and more resort style,so this lacked a bit of atmosphere. Great location close to the beach but without the price tag. Pool was ok but very quiet so preferred to go to the beach each day. Room was cleaned each day. Had a pool access room thank goodness so could just open the doors and sit outside so that was nice. Quiet hotel so good for sleeping.

We had stayed at the Ananta a few years back, butI have to say the hotel looks a bit tired now compared to then. Staff however are very friendly and most helpful as you expect from the lovely Balinese. There were not many people staying there which may be due to the time of year as well. However, if you travel up the road to Seminyak there are heaps of people on the street.In contrast Double Six road was virtually empty in the evening. There was a lot of rain at night which caused some local flooding issues for the hotel, consequently the drains were a little smelly in the rooms. The Ananta has everything you need but a downscale version. This is reflected in the well priced tarriff. 4 stars is probably an accurate rating.

They mistakenly give me the breakfast voucher and me being silly i forgot that i booked the room without breakfast. Now we have to bare the cost which for me it should have been their fault as everything is in their system already. They should check their system carefully before giving us the breakfast voucher. If ive known, i should just have breakfast else where.

The hotel is in a really good location but that’s about all the positives we can give. The rooms need updating and the staff weren’t overly friendly. Breakfast was average as there weren’t a lot of options to choose from. The beds were uncomfortable also. We ended up changing hotels for our last three nights and found something much better and for a cheaper price than this hotel. I won’t be recommending this hotel to anyone unfortunately.

Very disappointing with the entire experience at this hotel - the website images do not reflect the actual hotel. This is not even close to a 4 star hotel. Rooms were full of spider, bed bugs, ants and dirty blood stained sheets. No toiletries in the bathroom. Upon checking in and discovering the condition of our rooms, we asked to move to another room to be told that was not possible and waited in reception for an hour to have the rooms cleaned from 4am until 5am. We requested a refund so we could move to another hotel but the advised it was also not company policy to refund. There was no apology nor was there any compensation (in fairness though, there was not much else they could offer as a compensation) We asked if we could upgrade (willing to pay) but they said all the rooms were standard - this hotel needs a serious make over or new management. The nicest thing I can say about this hotel was the driver I booked for the day (Oki) through concierge - he was brilliant. Everything else - waste of money. Dont waste your time or money here - you'd have a better time camping.

Ananta Legian Hotel - Bali

Three years ago we chose stay in Ananta Hotel and we were extremely happy with
everything and this time we have desisted to return once again to the same destination
and the same hotel.
The hotel is relatively new and according to the front plug information, has been built in
2012.
Unfortunately after three years the hotel has changed for the worst.
We all know everything comes down to individuals, peoples and the staffs in general were
extremely helpful and friendly.
The worst were a breakfasts comparing to our previous stay practically nothing to offer,
I cannot stressed enough in my review BREKFSAST was bellowed acceptable standard!
I could not believe even the butter was old and smelly, when I have alerted the waiter she say
that’s what we have got.
Our rooms sometime were cleaned late afternoon because there was one cleaner cleaning the
rooms.
Several times we have to ask for individual items like cleaning products or bottle of
water. Looking at the standard of cleaning one mop dipped in in the backed of water cleaned
all rooms and the corridor.
Bathroom shower had was partially blocked and our air condition was extremely noisy, to
that extend we could not switch the unit over night to sleep comfortably.
Definitely lack of maintains can be clearly visible everywhere, including the fish pond.

Booked last minute on Wotif and the staff were so helpful. Had everything ready when we arrived 15 minutes after booking the 3 rooms. And value for money was outstanding!!!!! Highly recommended!! The hotel is such a great location close to everything you need!!

Was a good place Central to most places. Staff were wonderful. The only negative was the room service removed a face washer and towel then asked me if I had taken it. My friends were also asked this. However was not charged for it when I explained that their staff had removed it as I was the only person staying.

Nice hotel with great location

Got a great deal on this hotel. Staff are very polite and helpful. No problems checking in. My room air con was not working properly, it wasn’t cold. The staff tried fixing it but didn’t make it much better. Ended up moving the bed under the air con to sleep. The toilet bowl seat was not properly cleaned. It had a layer of dirt that I had to wipe off.

Bathroom was dirty, air conditioning kept cutting out, complained about it than they fixed it and continued to keep cutting out during the night and they wouldn't move us. Phone was broken had to complain again for someone to fix than they charge 3 times the amount compared to other hotels , fridge didn't keep baby milk cold. Power kept cutting out because of construction upstairs. Room key didn't work 3 times had to keep going to reception for them to fix very annoying when u have a baby. Breakfast was terrible! Than they overcharge at the end of the stay! Terrible experience whilst the volcano is going off never stay here again!

Nice cosy room with close proximity to the beach.

Hotel staffs were very welcoming. Never fail to serve with a smile.entrance to the hotel makes it like walking into some quiet enclave, away from the buzz of the Bali traffic.
The pyramid looking lobby might need some cleaning to restore its charm. Otherwise a very pleasant stay there.

The hotel is comfortable with friendly staff. The rooms were clean but a little small. No balconies but there is an amazing roof top bar to watch the sunsets.
Pool is nice but does get shady in the afternoon.
Breakfast was basic but tasty.
On a whole the hotel is reasonably priced for basic accomodation in a good location.

The hotel is located close to the beach. I found the pool area very cold and unwelcoming. There is no drawer space in the rooms. The wifi reception is terrible. I was moved to a better reception area but even then the signal constantly dropped out. I would not stay here again.

Good value, but lacks in quality

On first appearances Ananta appears quite appealing, nicely designed and a great pool area with swim up bar (which it is). But that's mostly where the pros end.
The location is tucked fairly deeply into Legian, not close to the main road into Seminyak (an hours walk if you try) and a pretty long walk to the beach - although taxis are cheap to get around so if location isn't a big deal to you, it's totally fine.
The room was small and cleanish but the finishings were all really lacking. Our towels replaced on the second night (which were bad enough to notice) were small, looked old and threadbare with residual stains. The King bed (2 singles joined together with a large sheet) was terrible - hard, uncomfortable and the gap between was a hard ridge. Both of us got barely any sleep, luckily it was only for 2 nights.
The wifi is shocking - constantly dropped out the entire time and was weak at best when it was on. We found ourselves continuously re-submitting password/login details to access the same network - not ideal for those who spend a lot of time on their devices.
In saying all this though - some pros:
- pool area is great and has a swim up bar! Great for relaxing if you don't want to leave the hotel
- the staff were lovely and polite, always saying hello/goodbye every time we left or came back. I found them wonderful
- value for money. If you're after a budget place to stay for a few days and don't mind location, this is a good option for the money conscious

Hotel lacks a little atmosphere however the stay was comfortable, and the staff were excellent! We got a pool access room but only used a couple of time so probably not worth it in the end. Wifi a bit slow, local sim is cheap, so get one. The area is quieter than Seminyak if that's what you prefer. Overall we like the hotel, was good value for the price with pool access. Great little Italian restaurant about 1min away! And double six rooftop bar is very close by to watch the sunset

I really enjoyed my stay at the Ananta. The rooms were small, but clean and well appointed. I had a pool access room, and enjoyed being able to use the pool surroundings.
The staff were all exceptional - friendly, polite and responsive.

Worth Considering

The property is relatively new having opened its doors in 2012, however its some what dated and budget Esk in its design. Our room was comfortable however it was little things which could be easily improved upon which tarnished our expirence. 1 small bedside table shared by 2 beds was inconvient as there was not enough space to sit tablets and phones. The wifi was boarderline unusable the majority of our stay. I ended up buying 12gb of mobile data to get around the issue. We hired motorbikes which we were able to park in the basement car park. No matter how many times we asked the carpark security not to move our bikes out in the rain as we were heading out on them again as soon as the rain shower finished, just about every time we returned to find the bikes had been moved which resulted in a wet bum for us.
Some tips. Right out the front of the property across the road is an alleyway with a small laundry. Lovely ladies whom took care of your washing in 24 hours for RP25,000 per kg.
When you walk out of the property to the left is a restaurant and ice creamery set in a garden. I had the best Indonesian chicken curry I have ever expirence here. I also had a seafood Laska which was an 8/10. Well priced, good service.
If you have a motorbike, do your self a favour and eat at Wacko Burger. 5 minutes away by Nike traffic depending. The food is devine and really cheap by Western Standards. 9.5/10 for me. All in all not bad but had a better expirence at a cheaper rival property.

This hotel is beautiful. The food is really good and all the staff are lovely. There is one downside to this hotel thought and that's the internet was very slow, especially in our room. But overall great place to stay if you're not overly fussed about the internet speed :)

Decent near beach

If you want a cheap, decent ordinary hotel walking distance to the beach then this one is fine. We only stayed here for one night because we were flying home the next day, the bed was really uncomfortable, the room was small and if you had a room facing the pool it is quite noisy. If you are on a budget and don't want to be right on the beach, this is less than a 5 minute walk to the beach. But be warned you are bombarded by shops harassing you to buy bracelets and elephant pants before getting to the beach and once on the beach you will be bombarded some more to buy bracelets and get a pedicure. It isn't really relaxing area in Bali at all.

I've never had to leave a negative review but I feel compelled to warn others this time. NOTHING LIKE THE PICTURES. We thought we'd be staying in a nice hotel, this was at best a 3star and should be no more than $50 a night. Small cramped room. Linen is so old and needs badly replacing. Room is old. Internet barely worked. We travel several times a year on business & pleasure and this hotel stay was a great dissapointment. Tried several times to contact the manager but he was always sleeping. ? Spend your money somewhere else guys!!

Quiet and nice area.

Nice and warm welcome at reception. Staff are really nice. Nice courtyard area with lovely swimming pool. Off street area but easy access to main street. A lot of restaurants and great shopping area.
The road is one way street so always terrible traffic whole day. If you catching taxi, get a main street then match quicker and easy.

Nice hotel, lacked vibe

Hotel nice, easy check in. breakfast was good, not a huge range, hotel is quiet.

Nothing negative at all about hotel, just I found it didn't have a vibe to it.

Nice hotel close to the beach

We stayed 4 nights. The room and facilities were immaculate, the food was excellent and well priced, and the staff were all amazing. Its close to the beach and all the street shopping you want. 10/10 for location.
The only downsides are slow internet, wifi drops, the matress was too hard for my wife (was ok for me) and the pillows were too solid (but fine for my wife).
Overall it is an excellent place to stay and I would highly recommend it.

There are nicer hotel for the price near by!

Front entry is nice then it's down hill from there.
It's says it a new hotel but it's already 2 years old and rooms are already tried.

Quiet Hotel in a Great Location

This was the third time we have stayed at the Ananta Legian Hotel. It is a quiet hotel in a great location - close to shopping, the beach and many restaurants and bars. All the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful.

Nice hotel in good location

To be completely honest, the photos are better than the real thing. The room was lots smaller than expected, and I did wonder about the security of the sliding doors on the poolside rooms, very clean however. The staff are lovely and friendly, and the hotel is in a good location. The Wifi leaves a fair bit to be desired and when you're travelling with a 19 year old, this can be the most important requirement, alongside with on demand TV, which there wasn't, however you could rent a DVD player. I was disappointed with the Ananta, I was expecting a lot more for the 4 stars, however we were only there a couple of nights and were looking for a well priced, rather than luxurious stay. It suits the OK rating well. This rating has nothing to do however with the staff, who were very friendly and attentitive. Breakfast was adequate, certainly not extensive.

Good location but Dark Rooms

I spent two weeks in Bali at 4 different hotels. This had the best location, but it was my least favorite. The photos looked great, but the room was a little too dark, too dark to even read a book. It was close to the beach and not far from restaurants and bars. For the price it was good, but you can definitely find a bicer room in Seminyak/Legian area.

Nice hotel walking distance to everything you need

Checked in the the Ananta with ease and we're happy with our rooms (we stayed in the deluxe pool room). Hotel was quiet and the staff were very attentive.
Great location in Legian. Very close to Seminyak and walking distance to cocoon beach club and beach 66.

The Ananta was surprisingly comfortable,clean,service was amazing. The only downer was the location, but what you pay is what you get. If you want a relaxing holiday without head banging music at a reasonable price , this is the place.
