Room and facilities felt neglected. The room had a damp mouldy smell coming from the air conditioning. We had an interconnecting room and the same thing happened from our other room. The damp smell was that bad that we opted not to use our air conditioning which isn’t very practical in the Bali heat. We reported it to reception where a maintenance man said he would come and take a look and clean the filters but the smell didn’t go away. There was an awful smell coming from the drains in the bathroom and also our son left a white t-shirt in the room one morning when we went to the buffet breakfast. He had Bali belly so we had requested that his room be turned over with fresh sheets. When we returned to the room, His brand new white tshirt with blue writing all over it had disappeared and when we contacting the cleaning department they said they would look for but nothing got followed up. We assumed it was collected amongst the bedding however the brand name shirt was never found. My partner had previously stayed at this hotel multiple times and said that the standard had severely deteriorated at this hotel. Great location and staff were friendly but sadly the facilities are dated, old and tired and felt very unhygienic

They offered an upgrade for an extra $10 per night to a pool view room. This room was extremely run down, the door to the verandah didn’t close properly & it was extremely noisy during the day and night. Avoid these pool view rooms if you wish to have a quiet night.

We enjoyed out 7 nights at Jayakarta. Apart from our room being a little outdated and needing a good refurb it was clean and comfortable. Serviced daily including fresh bottles of water. The staff were always friendly and helpful. The grounds a beautifully maintained and the pools were fabulous. The beach was only across the road where we found many, many beach bars, cafes and warungs.

The Jayakarta is still a good value for money hotel with plenty of amenities, great gardens, good swimming pools etc. However it is getting very old now and needs to have a serious update of the rooms and other infrastructure. Staff are helpful and friendly, but seem to have lost some of their passion for the property - maybe due to the age of it.

The only thing that disappointed us was the fact that we could not bring bottles of water or alcohol in. I thought it was a joke at first but it was the rules. I exited and jumped the fence at the front later in the night! I would have thought that it would be ok to bring in bottled water as us blow ins can’t handle thier water. That needs addressing!

The hotel bathrooms looking a bit worn and could do with a makeover. Staff were great, would recommend for young families as they have a toddlers pool and for young groups of friends as well. Good vibe around the pool with music playing. We've stayed here many times and the issue with the tiles around the pool area been slippery is still ongoing. Number of people slipping was a concern and my husband on this trip actually slipped and required stitches to his elbow from the cut.

The grounds of the resort and common amenities are lovely and the staff extremely friendly, polite and willing to assist in any way. The resort is situated opposite the beach, close to shops, services and restaurants making it a very convenient location.
Unfortunately the room we stayed was in dire need of a refurbish and was extremely noisy being opposite venue that played music until midnight 7 nights a week.

I liked the fact I left a couple of items I bought in my room on check out and was very pleased when I rang reception and they had kept them for me
I did book our 3 rooms in Dec. 24 and asked for rooms close to pool but unfortunately we were right out the back
Never mind , we had a great time and would highly reccomend staying there .

Have stayed many times at the Jayakarta hotel over 25 years and feel it’s like home away from home. Though a very old hotel they have renovated some rooms and ours was very comfortable and clean. The staff are very friendly and happy and the grounds kept immaculately. The pool area is spotless and I would highly recommend this hotel.

This is a great relaxing place to stay.
A little bit older but its in a great location across the road from Legian beach and in the middle of everything.
Breakfast is delicious every day ,the 3 pools are beautiful and refreshing, the lawns and gardens are beautifully maintained. The rooms are a little bit older but still comfortable and clean.

Only downside for me is the pool bar closes at 6pm regardless of how many guests are in the pool swimming and or drinking at 6pm they dump many litres of chlorine in ,so if you are out and about through the day and want to relax with a drink from the pool bar at 6.15 forget it.
I do believe the pool does open again about an hour after the chlorine dump but not the pool bar.
Also i believe you can get a drink from a near by bar and have in the pool but would love to see the pool bar open till 9 or 10pm after all we are on holidays and having a great time.

This is my only negative and will be back again next year

It's a nice but typical Bali resort. It's not far from the airport, 30mins. A lot shopping a dining options within walking distance and the beach is just behind the resort, which was great. Liked the landscaping, lush green and well maintained. Breakfast was great and had a lot of options. Lunch and dinner options were there but it was average tasting, nothing stood out. We ate there mainly for of convenience. Overall the resort is aging and needs a bit of renovation, but it's clean and the green gounds compensate for that. Staff was friendly and service was prompt. One incident that left a bad taste was when my son forgot his room key at the restaurant breakfast table in the resort. I returned went to to ask for it at the restaurant and nobody had a clue, they did not have any lost and found protocol. The front desk person was rude and started berating for forgetting it and said they will charge $5 for a replacement key. That's kinda a wierd. But someone form the restaurant staff found the key somewhere and returned it to me. So don't lose stuff there. But overall I would recommend the resort, rooms were adequate and the prices were affordable.

Location was fabulous. Breakfast was fantastic. Ordering food was expensive. Cocktails were expensive.
Staff were wonderful.
Room was very dated, no hot water for the first 3 days. Hot was system was leaking and had a constant drip (located in bathroom in a bordered up area).
They kept saying it will be 'ok'. Was told to run bathroom sink on cold then hot to get it to work (this eventually worked on day 3).
Smell of mold in the room was terrible, worse in bathroom where they made superficial repairs.
Mattress were old (had single beds in room)
Gap above balcony door meant mosquitoes came into the room - worse in bathroom.
Cleaning daily was not the best, did not wipe benches.
Overall the location, pools and staff were amazing.

We had an amazing stay and the hotel staff were very friendly, helpful and thoughtful. They certainly made my son's 18th rememberable. A perfect location and facilities for all in our group (11 all up and multi generational). This was our second time staying here and will definitely be back.

As a first time trip to Bali The Jayakarta was the perfect place to stay from the boom gates and security at the front and back entrances 3 wonderful pools to swim in across the road from the beach and a few minutes walk to restaurants bars and massages, everything that I wanted
The resort has a real Balinese feel to it buffet breakfast in the morning the food was good a couple of restaurants pool bar you don’t have to leave everything is there
However the rooms do smell we had 3 rooms in different buildings and they all smelted a dampness kind of smell the beds were comfortable I felt the bathrooms thou they were clean perhaps could do with a good deep clean a disinfectant clean
I also thought that there should be sanitizer around the resort at least ad you enter the resort and at the entrance to the restaurants there was none anywhere
May I also suggest more umbrellas for shade there was not enough for everyone to enjoy lying around the pool and grounds
Overall I did enjoy my stay and I would stay again

When we arrived at the Jayakarta they hadnt met the room requirements that we were assured would occur. We did end up in a different room upon 2 requests but the hotel was smelly. The front desk service was pretty poor too.

The resort is in a great area. Accessible to shop's and dining. Also walkable. My biggest complaint is the room is out dated. The restroom looks like a rundown public washroom. It needs immediate renovation.
