The things I wanted most out of a hotel was the heated pool and restaurant. After booking my stay I got a message from the hotel saying the game room and pool are under repair. Also, they show pictures of the restaurant and bar, both of which are closed. They did not even notify me that it was until I got there and I asked where the restaurant was located. The only time the restaurant is open is for the buffet breakfast. I will say the buffet is absolutely wonderful, best I've ever had for a continental breakfast. A wide selection, with an omlet and waffle bar, fresh fruit, eggs, sausage, oatmeal, pancakes, and so much more. I aksed 3 different associates where the gift shop is. One asked what I wanted in there, and 2 others just pointed and said it's over there. Never found it. The room I had was with 2 Queen beds, it was wonderful and spacious, but my Daughter got a room with a King size bed and her room was tiny. The shower was awesome, it's digital with state of the art technology. The parking garage has it's own entrance to the hotel. Also, parking garage is free. I rate this hotel 3 out of 5, due to not having the things I truly wanted in a hotel.

We didn't have time to use it this trip anyway. but if we had booked it for that reason with our kids, I would have been very disappointed.

I stayed here in 2025 and made sure to return when in town again. The rooms are great, the price is reasonable, and the free breakfast was outstanding. Also, the parking garage is priced reasonably and I saved a lot of money leaving my car at the hotel and taking the light rail downtown.

Disappointed that the garage parking is no longer free, but hey, I can handle six dollars a night. Can’t beat the price for the location in downtown Clayton.

It was only one night, so I didn't interact much with the staff. The parking situation was confusing/creepy (several street entrances and whole sections of the structure was closed, with limited signs/directions), lead into the dark ally behind the hotel. The room had a layer of dust, AC unit had been busted in with the worse being the fridge in the room made the most annoying noise all night long, which made it important to sleep. Your not allowed to take breakfast back to the room, so your stuck in the dining room with blaring music first thing in the morning. Shower temp control was nice though.

For how nice that hotel looks upon entering, i would expect more from it. The towels were motel 6 quality. The breakfast was mediocre at best. The room had a separate bath tub from the shower and the bathtub had only a small handheld shower but that was onky place with shampoo, conditioner and bodywash. The hotel is beautiful and clean, a very quiet place, the staff was friendly. The hotel had garage parking that did not have clear instructions and we were not given clear instructions at check in. The hotel was a maze with a lot of walking. It is not handicap friendly, if one has walking problems it would be wise to find another place to stay. There was no ice on our floor, although it had an ice machine. When I ask about ice, was informed it was on floor 5 and 6. The breakfast was delicious.

Room was ok but needed inspected. Fan makes a hum, fan on the built in ac/heater made a horrible sound, bathroom was outdated. I had never stayed in the 3000's so went to an area i was familiar with but was wrong. Had to go all rhe waybto the desl to ask for help. As for the front desl i had to geth their attention for assistance and they didnt bother to tell me how to get to my room. Ive stayed here before, not sure what is going on that thehotel just felt...cheap.

We had a fabulous experience at the Clayton Plaza Hotel! Our check-in was super easy, everyone was extremely friendly, and the free parking at the attached deck was very convenient. The digital shower and mirror were awesome and our breakfast was as delightful and tasty as advertised! It totally beat any free breakfast that we’ve ever gotten at a chain hotel. If we are ever back in St. Louis, we’d stay here again in a heartbeat!
