The renovation of the room was older than expected. The wallpaper was peeling, the bathtub had stains. All the TV channels were fuzzy. There is a strong cigarette smell along the corridors, but I don’t think the hotel is doing anything about it. I am rather disappointed with it considering that it’s a non-smoking hotel. The breakfast selection is extremely limited. We asked for a baby dining chair. The staff just pointed to the other end of the room and expected us to get the chair ourselves. He then continued to use his phone. One of the front desk staff was extremely unfriendly and impatient. I would not stay here again.

Very nice aparthotel. The staff is nice and spoke English. We stayed in a studio with twin beds and the amenities suited our needs perfectly. The kitchen, washing machine and gym were perfect for our needs. There is shopping and Starbucks nearby. My only suggestion is the lobby can use some updating. Overall, very good place to stay if traveling with family.

Great accomodation

The apartment are well equipped, the staff at the reception was helpful in case of questions. The residence was few minutes walk away from the underground station and there are plenty of restaurants, shops around. Some of my highlight were the delivery robots going up the floors with us in the elevator, and the decoration for the Chinese New Year.

We were very impressed with the hotel and enjoyed the stay. The rooms are very large, the beds and bedding great and it was wonderful to have a sitting area, kitchen and laundry. The breakfast was good. The staff was very helpful.
The hotel is well located for access to many of the things to see. Walking distance to the French Concession and an easy taxi rides to The Bund, also train stations.
The bathroom was great, but needs a good cleaning as there was black mold in the tub area. This was the only issue,

I highly recommend this hotel.

I cannot imagine a better place to stay in shanghai. It was so nice to have all the space and facilities of a small apartment, with the support of the reception desk staff. The apartment was comfortable and quiet. The location is great! A 5 minute and 8 minute walk to two different metro stations and a short walk to lively shopping and eating areas.

Located in quite a nice balance location in Huang Pu area, not exactly in the most happening areas, yet not too far. Didi rides were very affordable and convenient to access to nearby attractions such as Yu Garden, The Bund, etc.

I stayed in this property both in summer and fall and am very satisfied. The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms were spotless. They have a kitchen, a refrigerator and a washer/dryer. The washer/dryer was super helpful in summer when the weather was hot and humid day and night in Shanghai. The best part of this property is its location. It is just a couple of blocks away from Huihai Road, a shopping strip of Shanghai, and in walk distance from hotspots like Yu’s Garden, the Great World or Dashijie, and Xingtiandi. On the other hand, the hotel itself is in a quiet place and super safe overnight. I would highly recommend this place.

This is my second stay at the hotel. Location is very convenient. Walking distance to Xintianti and Yuyuan Garden which is very convenient, especially when the weather is nice. The Dashijie metro station is also very close which allows to reach other parts of the city easily. Hotel is nice, all facilities are new and proper. I would definately consider to stay here again as an option for my next visit. One small thing, if you ship something to hotel, they dont store it but forward directly to your room and it is left in front of your door. Doesnt sound very safe and i dont understand why they dont accept the packages to the receptipn area, but this is their rule…

Great Apartment Style Hotel

We've been to Shanghai about 30 times and this hotel is our preferred place of stay each time. We love the apartment style rooms since they have all the amenities you need for a short or long stay (full fridge, dishes, washer/dryer) and the staff are always super friendly with great English. Housekeeping came by each day and did a great job. Only downside currently is there is construction going on across from the hotel on one side, so it can be a bit noisy, but that's not really the hotels fault or within their control. If noise bothers you, maybe ask for a room on the other side of the hotel which is very quiet.

So far so good. Nice and clean, 2 bedroom unit is just nice for us. Friendly and helpful staff well verse in Mandarin and English. Kitchenette is equipped with basic cookware, dish washing detergent and sponge. The only thing lack of is bigger bowl. If cook something with soup, you can only serve and eat using the pot.

I found bugs in my bed when I arrived and when I tried to change rooms they gave me a hard time about it. Eventually the put me on a floor where they were doing construction, it was loud and smelled terrible.

Also, housekeeping walked into my room twice when I had my do not disturb sign up. I was getting undressed one of the times, that was really messed up.

I booked this aparthotel because of a very impressive stay at another Fraser Suites residence in the past. I was hopeful for a similar experience. With this stay, I was disappointed to find out that our room was more run down and not as clean. Furthermore, I think they gave us a smaller / lower grade room compared to what I booked. I could have asked for something different, but my family and I were too tired after a long day of travel.

Excellent location that is within walking distance to many high traffic locations, but still quiet enough to get a good night of sleep. Furthermore, it’s also a $3 cab ride to about half dozen sights. The service staff is also one of best I have had in years. We had AC problems twice during our stay and the staff was on sight and fixed the problem minutes after we called the front desk. Both my wife and I would stay here again next time we visit Shanghai.

Second time staying at Fraser shanghai. Great location, walking distance to Xintianti. Staff overall are very nice (except few). They could work on the room entertainment systen (only handful of TV channels with bad screen quality). Did not want to use the swimming pool this time because the facility condition was not quite neat last time when we tried. But we Will probably stay here again if I need to be in the Puxi area again.

Had a great stay here. Upgraded for a small charge on arrival. Hotel is in a great location. Room was perfect. Great amenities. Sixth floor has gym, spa and two restaurants (a Mexican and Element Fresh). Walkable (15 min) to The Bund and lots of shops (within 10 min).

Only things to suggest they improve - the conditions of the change room of the pool were quite run down and the pool was very cold. Also the spa was prohibitively expensive.

Great facilities for longer stay

We had switched hotels at the last minute for a more central location and a suite rather than just hotel room and this definitely fitted the bill.
We had lots of room with the addition of a small lounge area, kitchen and lovely big modern bathroom.
We had noticed a number of negative reviews about the breakfast but we actually enjoyed having the choice of approx 8 meals all served very fresh and not the usual sad looking, luke warm mixed buffets that can be usual in Asia.
The staff were so very helpful and friendly in all departments.
Having a washing machine/dryer when staying for 13 nights was such an added benefit. We were able to sit on the balcony and just chill. The wifi was good and tv channels better than many we have stayed in although as usual a limited choice.
We had the choice depending on which metro line we needed of a approx 10 minute walk to one of two metro stops and a few minutes walk from lots of shopping and restaurants.
Overall we would definitely recommend the Fraser Residence, we had a great stay and wonderful vacation.

It was a business trip of 4 days 3 nights. The area is conveniently located and the room is modern and clean. I chose this residence over other hotels because I wanted it to be more like home - with basics to cook up a simple meal, wash/dry my clothes daily and have a spacious toilet / bath area. I will definitely stay here again .

First impression was really great with kind staff members who all speak good English and very nice to help with everything. The unit where we stayed also had a good view and the room condition seemed neat in the beginning. We were very satisfied and felt comfortable with almost all conditions. But i found 4 bugs in the room during my 3 days there, and all in different kinds. One in the shower room, one on the pillow, one on the kitchen floor, one on the kitchen ceiling. I get that there could be pest problem because guests cook/keep food in their residence units. But still, the hotel should pay more attention to the pest control problem. The fornt desk staff were very attentive to the problem and apologized for the condition. (I only reported two: and they provided some free snacks after the first report). Because of the value and location, I was hoping this place could be my frequent stay as I visit Shanghai often. But sad that it won’t happen for now. The pest problem requires serious improvement.

Was closed to perfect. Typical service apartment, good size. Only thing that did not make the mark was coffee. There was no coffee machine in my type of room and neither was there coffee powder or mix. Location was pretty good, very short walking distance to a mall, restaurants and convenience store. But on quite side of Huai Hai Road. If you using Huai Hai Road as a guide, make sure you now which part of Huai Hai Road you need to be in. Service overall is good. Could stay here again!
