Enjoyed evening meal in the restaurant and del’Arte and Osaka short walk away.

Travelling with family and our dog, this is a perfect hotel for spending the night when on the road (or as a base for exploring Lyon). The hotel has a number of charging stations for EVs and is fenced off at night.
A big plus is its excellent restaurant; the food here is remarkably good, and so is the breakfast buffe.

Cet hôtel a perdu de sa splendeur et ne vaut absolument pas 4* , odeur d’égouts dans les couloirs moquettes d’accès à la chambre , lit cale au mur en 140, lit d’appoint bout de canapé avec latte cassée , matelas pas confortable ,ménage très moyen joints carrelage encrasses , lino bariolé sur le sol , dîner tre cher pour ce qu’i y avait dans l’assiette 2 cuillères à soupe de salade dans un mini ramequin, steak 100 g max déchets compris vraiment pas terrible , petit déjeuner du choix mais pas du niveau gustatif d’un 4* , personnel gentil mais pas la classe bref je ne reviendrai pas

A Perfect Stay, Great for EVs

This is a great hotel in a good location for a stopover and with an onsite restaurant for an (excellent) dinner. Breakfast was superb with a huge variety of choice and lots of fresh produce. The staff provided an excellent service and the room provided everything we wanted wuth great attention to the things that travellers need. We were travelling with our electric car and the ability to charge overnight was a huge bonus. There is a large bank of Tesla chargers which we weren’t able to use but the hotel have two universal chargers for guest use only. This worked very well with a receptionist coming to unlock the charger space and explain what to do. A really excellent stay. Thank you.

Great hotel for our stopover on the way south. Often stay at B B hotels, most are great value, clean and modern, perfect for a cheap overnight stay. This one was wonderful, comfy bed, lots of pillows, fridge and kettle. Good onsight restaurant, reasonably priced. Even a pool, shame it was raining! Polite and helpful staff, we'll definitely stay again.

Stopover in Lyon

We stayed in this hotel on the way back from Spain to Germany. This is great place for such a stopover if you just want to relax rather than discover Lyon as its not central and the area is not glamorous. But very close to the motorway exit/entrance.
Staff was very nice. Rooms were compact for a family of 4 but clean and comfortable.
Restaurant is ok and convenient if you want to dine on-site. Few options also available in the area, walking or short drive.
The garden, completely enclosed, with a small pool, sun loungers and games for the kids was great for us to relax and the kids to let some steam out after a long car journey.
Free and secure parking is hassle free and a nice plus compared to more central hotels.
Great breakfast.

A very clean, modern hotel. Plenty of parking. A good breakfast with a wide selection.
We stopped off on the way back from the south of France to Calais. This was an ideal place to break the journey. Very easy to access from the Autoroute. our rooms had a double bed and a sofa that converted to twin beds. We ate a nice dinner in the hotel which was served promptly. We'd definitely stay there again.

Lovely Hotel

I thought this hotel was lovely. I only had a one night stopover but enough time to enjoy dinner and breakfast and the comforts of the hotel. It's modern and spacious. The room was very big with a separate door leading into the bedroom keeping the corridor noise away (pity all hotels didn't have this). The bed was very comfortable although the pillows weren't (for me anyway). Tea and coffee facilities with a small fridge and safe.

There is a swimming pool and children's play area out the back with the pool beside the outside dining area. Breakfast and dinner had a good selection and was very nice.

The hotel has a secure gate which kind off confirmed my suspicions that it wasn't in an area I'd take an evening stroll outside. On approach after leaving the motorway, I had wondered if I had taken a wrong turn. I struggled to get a parking space but it was more to do with others not parking within the spaces and leaving no room for another car to park beside them. I was driving from Belgium to Spain and it was a great place to stay in on route.

Out of the way, but a nice hotel

Stayed for 9 nights on a business trip at this hotel as it was the closest to where I was working. It's 10km north of Lyon City centre (well worth a visit if you can get to the old town) and it's in a relatively quiet area, but there is a supermarket 5 minutes walk away and a couple of restaurants locally. The hotel is great, the bar/restaurant are very nice and the food is excellent. The rooms, whilst pretty basic are big and the air conditioning works well. If you have to stay outside Lyon, I would recommend this place.

2 separate nights with dogs on a long european journey. Very obliging staff, good level of English spoken. Breakfast is a bit pricey at £12 a head but you really are spoilt for choice and volume. Worth it.

Perfect place after a few hours on the road

Good hotel, clean tidy and well equipped after a few hours in the car. Welcome was friendly, rooms were clean, facilities were good and the kids enjoyed a kickabout in the garden and a game of table tennis. Food was excellent, not the cheapest but good quality. Breakfast was ace. Lots of choice and all fresh. Lots of open air, secure parking which was a plus with a car full of holiday 'stuff'. Overall, a very good stay and I'd certainly recommend it.

We booked this leaving Spain as a stop off on the way to Calais. This was an excellent place to stop, very comfortable beds; brilliant bath and service including a play room that the youngest child loved and free wifi for the eldest! The breakfast had a good range of the room was very well presented for us all to be refreshed ready for the long drive to Calais.

Hotel is nice and modern. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. It had aircon and a safe. Lots of child friendly restaurants nearby plus a huge supermarket. Buffet breakfast had excellent choice. Not a bad location for visiting Lyon although we did have a hire car.

Main disappointment was the fact that the first night we were told there were no rooms left (despite booking in advance and phoning the day before) and that we'd been moved to another hotel for the first night.

Having stayed at previous Novotel Hotels in Europe, I found the one in Novotel Lyon Nord Porte De Lyon to be the most generic and sad. The breakfast was simply awful with limited choice. The clerk was inexperienced as every question we had he had to get the answer from a collegue. I was travelling throughout Spain and France with my son who is a soccer fanatic to visit as many football stadiums as possible.The night we arrived at the hotel, Lyon Football Club (Olympique Lyonnais) were playing their season opening game against Nice. We arrived too late to get tickets so were looking forward to dinner and watching the game on the hotel TV. The hotel reception clerk informed us the hotel does not subscribe to the channel showing the game. Lyon went on to an exciting 4-0 win. We later learned the same clerk had given us false information that the game was on the room TV and we had unnecessarily missed the action! Positives: Clean. Negatives: Poor service and food. Given the choice: Stay elsewhere.

Very Convenient Location

This is a business traveler’s hotel through and through. It is immediately adjacent to the A6 and about 20 minutes from the heart of Lyon. Not much to look at outside, the inside was nicely designed, including the rooms. The staff was very helpful and attentive at all hours of the day, even during early morning when all of the business travelers are bustling around. This hotel offers a superior dining experience, having enjoyed an excellent supper and a more-than-ample breakfast, which was welcome, since there is nothing around the neighborhood. Parking was excellent and a gate was closed at night for protection. I’m not sure about the quality of other Novotels, but this one was worth the stay.

Used this hotel as a stopover on the way down to the south of France. Good secluded car park (worry free for leaving bikes on the back of the car). Small but adequate pool for the kids to splash about in after sitting in the car since Calais. Evening meal and following breakfast fine. Family room sofabed great for the kids, but I wouldn't want to sleep on it myself - far too soft. As per usual, no surprises with Novotel - you generally know what you're getting.

a good hotel if your looking for a quick stopover. We were traveling from Uk to Italy and stayed for one night. Comfortable rooms with air con. Food in restaurant is not very good when considering the price of the meals and really lets the hotel down, theres nowhere else around to eat as its an industrial park. However breakfast was great lots to choose from and the pool and garden area are very relaxing. Also, the computer in reception is handy for checking emails etc and free.

The hotel itself was excellent, as usual, but when we ordered an evening meal we were kept sitting for over an hour and had to approach the waiter several times before it appeared. People at nearby tables who had come to the resturant well after us were served quite quickly. It was obvious that our order had been forgotten. The excuse we were given was that there was only one chef on duty but when we stated that we were about to leave the meal appeared but was nowhere near the usual standard.

Excellent position just off the autoroute, yet quiet spot. Nice garden area to relax, good bar area. Friendly and welcoming, lots of parking. Restaurant menu was very limited and not so cheap, but very few other places around the area to eat - a purpose built collection of hotels with nothing more than the hotels' own restaurants - figure that one out! Room was clean, air con didn't work very well so might not be great on a hot night. Beds were cheap and hard. I would stay again due to convenience, but only ever for a night to break up a long drive. Seemed to be in a poor area of Lyon - the Ibis for example had a permanently locked access gate and 6 foot wire fences around it.

Great stopover for ski holiday

Stayed at this hotel en route from euro tunnel to the French alps.
Ideal as they could cater for a family of 4 ( mom, dad and 2 kids) In one room unlike some of the other hotels whose max is 3 persons. It was cheaper than booking 2 rooms in the other hotels.
24 hr reception so no pressure to get there before a certain time to check in. lots of free parking.
Easy to find, sign posted straight from A 6.
Rooms very clean and comfortable. Tea and coffee facilities and toiletries. Ideal for the stopover.
Will stay again and would recommend to friends.

Good Hotel - Extras Cost Too Much

Good clean hotel. Just what you expect from Novotel. Pool was very clean and not being used by others. Unfortunately, as a family we found the prices of food and drink too high. Although they do a reasonable meal deal for children in the restaurant, adult food is not that cheap and drinks were far too expensive. We therefore went to the the nearby village to find a cheaper local option. Overall, would stay there again though, as they do a 2+2 room which is very cost effective.
