We didn't use the breakfast facilities but clean and spacious place.
Very good communication with the reception, kettle in the room perfect.
Our flat was located in a silencious area.
Just few amendments to make such as
- our bedroom vénitien store didn't completely close which is a pain when you have a light outside facing your bedroom. Either repear it or put some thicker curtains.
- as we had to go through a earthy path it would be useful to have a doormat inside.

Dreadful place, do not waste your money

This place is not as advertised. No air conditioning or fans in 40c heat, filth covered mattresses and walls. Gardens overgrown and pathways a huge health and safety issue with holes and trip hazards everywhere, dark walk ways with no lights as staff can’t be bothered to replace them. The staff sit outside drinking whilst this place has fallen in to significant dis-repair. We actually contemplated sleeping in our car as it would have been more comfortable. This place is a hell hole and needs to knocked down. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Good for one night stay. Upstairs more modern then down stairs. Down stairs looked tired. Limited restaurants to eat though there were snack shacks dotted about. Would be nice to have a few restaurants and bars that were open past 7pm. It was very hot during our stay but no air con. Had to have windows open but became noisy until 11pm.
Kettle was old and the element was peeling. Not cork screw or bottle opener for any alcohol refreshments.

Highly recommend avoiding

This was one of the worst stays I’ve ever experienced. The hotel is incredibly dated and unkept - to the extent that it feels unsafe. The pathway is overgrown and uneven. The cot provided was not clean, had an huge rip in the side and did not have a mattress.

We enjoyed our stay there, it was clean and very big apartment. The only issue we had it was the heat, there is no air conditioning or fan there , although it was 36 degrees that day.
The second issue was the swimming pool, the kids went at its opening time 9am to enjoy it before we start our day, but it was filthy.

On arrival, the property was rather littered with over flowing, smelly bins in the car park.

The checking in process was smooth but the amount I was charged was more than the amount quoted me by Expedia.

The 2 bedroom apartment was very clean but a little dated. Very spacious accommodation with a just about adequate kitchen. Lounge furniture is mismatched and did not provide adequate, comfortable seating for all four of us at any one time.
Swimming pool and surroundings were very clean and relatively quiet.
The staff at reception were helpful but it took 3 days for the lounge blind to be fixed which made the room hot as it was stuck in the open position.
The area is very quiet even with the back doors open. An ideal place which was under 30 minutes Away by car from the centre of Lyon, and the amphitheatre.
There is a small supermarket which is a slow 15 minute walk from the property.

Needs modernising.

We had to change rooms due to ant infestation, we weren’t sure if they would sort out the infestation or just let the next ariivals just use the room until they complained. The whole place could do with a deep clean and some modernisation.

Garden & City Hotel Review

A good price - not many places to eat locally. Just the use of a small shop where we could bring food back to the apartment. Breakfast was rushed as they people were ready to eat at 8am but no food was laid out. However, the young French girl was VERY nice on the reception desk and did her best to sort things out. The apartment wasn't perfect in terms of cleanliness but the beds were clean at least. For the money, it was fine.

Beautiful Garden Setting

Grounds around the buildings are well kept and have a very nice garden feel. Rooms and beddings were generally clean but the carpets were stained. Some lights did not work. Service was great with our late arrival and later with helping us when we had cel phone problems. Hotel is located in quick driving distance to the Roman amphitheater and the Basilique Notre-Dame de Fourvière. Free available parking is a big plus. I would recommend this hotel for budget minded travelers.

Beautiful hotel with charm. Helpful staff.

It's a beautiful hotel with a garden atmosphere. The room was comfortable and had air conditioning, which as good because it gets warm and humid in that area. The nice woman running the front desk gave us information on how to get to Venice and was able to sell us bus tickets. The bus to Venice is just a short walk away. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and family

Not sure how this property got such high ratings

The units are EXTREMELY spartan and basic. There are no comforts/niceties such as pictures (ok, there were two very small pictures in a 2 level, 2 bedroom unit with huge walls), rugs, bath mats, alarm clocks, decent lamps (lighting was terrible), sufficient mirrors, etc... The bathrooms had exposed plumbing pipes, and the plastic shower curtain was disgustingly dirty as it was literally caked with soap scum from previous visitors. The walls, along with pretty much everything else, needed a deep cleaning. The hard, extremely uncomfortable sofa bed sleeper in the living room had pillows, but they were the actual sofa pillows with a pillowcase thrown over them instead of regular sleeping pillows. Part of the reason I chose this hotel is because they advertised a pool for my kids. However, the pool was covered up and not useable. Also, the dish detergent was provided but the bottle was half used as were the rolls of toilet tissue, and the sponge provided to wash dishes wasn't new (yuck!) While I certainly didn't expect the Trump Plaza for such a low rate, I at least expected that the room would remotely resemble the lovely pictures on the website. Be prepared - the rooms you see on the website are MUCH MUCH nicer than what you will receive. However, the front desk staff was wonderful! They were really nice and helpful, and most spoke pretty good English.

The location of the hotel was beatuiful. Easy to find on SATNAV, however the address was spelt incorrectly on the website. Confusion over the cost \"per room\" was terrible, and I had to ring hotels.com and the hotel itself to confirm the correct price..... On the whole the villa for 8 people was excellent value for money and we would happily use it again if need be. I would liked to have seen a proper kettle and not coffee percolator - we had to buy a kettle and also fans for our use as there was nothing to help with the intense heat. Staff were pleasant enough and helpful. We arrived much earlier that we thought and were allowed to have access.

Difficult to find and checkin instructions unclear

We never found this hotel, even though we asked directions many times and were directed to totally different locations! When we finally found someone who could tell us where it was we found out that we would not be able to get in as it was after 6pm on a Sunday and no one was at the reception, needed to arrange for check in earlier! Thus even though we had already paid for this hotel, we stayed at a different, thus double paying. Don't know condition but had to put in something or review not accepted!

Excellent Service

Had to stay there on business trips for the past 3 months, so became a regular guest. The service from the reception staff is perfect, and very friendly.
The flats are clean and in good condition (please note they do not have an oven). The location is remote if you do not have a car, as there is virtually no conveniences nearby. There is a bus stop right outside and Bus 98 will take you to the edges of Lyon in 30 mins.

Loved this hotel!

Can't say enough good things about this place. We were here for 2 weeks while my husband was working in the Lyon area. We decided to make a family trip of it & brought along our 2 small children. Although, it is a little far out of the city & my husband had quite a drive to work, the kids loved this place. It is set up as small \"villas\" with about 4 apartments to a building. All in a maze of sidewalks connecting them. Every evening my son loved leading us around the maze. There was open grassed in areas that they could play ball. The pool was wonderful. Although we were there in the summer & it didn't have air conditioning, we never needed it. There were lots of floor to ceiling patio doors we could open for a great breeze. If you don't have a car, there is a bus stop right out in front of the hotel that will bring you to the train station. A nice walk up the street will bring you to a pizzaria, post office & small grocery store. The front desk workers all spoke wonderful English & were very quick to help us in any way. Wish all hotels were like this one!!

Il faudrait ajouter de la déco car ça résonnait beaucoup avec enfants. Le radiateur du salon se mettait en eco à 15°C la nuit, du coup il faisait vraiment pas chaud pour notre bébé. Il faudrait aussi que le cumulus chauffe le jour, vu qu'il est dans une chambre, c'est très gênant pour dormir.

Bon rapport qualité prix. Literie correcte. Quelques points à revoir : hygiène et réparation à prévoir.
Côté hygiène : un grand nombre de cheveux dans la baignoire, toilette mal nettoyée.
Côté réparation : support de pommeau de douche cassé dont les vis ne tiennent plus grand chose.

Très bonne communication de l’hôtel pour les infos à transmettre sur les horaires, accès.

Chambre spacieuse mais très vieille, mal entretenu (traces dans la douche, meuble qui s’effrite, …).
De plus, arrivée tardive et lit bébé juste posé dans la chambre sans avoir été préparé.

Het appartement is in een matige staat en oogt daardoor vies. Het is raar en treurig ingericht. Je kan er slapen met 6 of 8 maar hebt een bankje voor 2 personen om op te zitten.Het rook erg naar chloor dus er is schoon gemaakt maar evengoed waren er veel grote spinnen.

Hébergement juste à côté de l’école vétérinaire.
Appartement spacieux, le clic clac pas très confortable et une vieille couverture au lieu d’une couette avec une housse qui pourrait être lavée.
Ménage pas top, moutons sous le lit et une chaussette oublié par un ancien client.
Un peu de moisi dans la salle de bain, plus de produits d’hygiène normalement prévu et pommeau de douche tout cassé.
Mais lit impeccable grand et confortable dans la chambre et emplacement hyper pratique pour se rendre à l’école vétérinaire.

Juste de passage pour dormir une nuit, logement sympa. Dommage pour le manque de propreté et l'état des sanitaires (la baignoire éclatée qui m'a laissé croire sur le coup à de la matière fécale) le concept est cependant sympa et l'accueil agréable, il ne suffit donc pas de grand chose pour améliorer la note ;)

Chambre quelconque, tuyauterie réparée laissant les tuyaux en plastique apparent courir sur les murs. La wifi n’est pas gratuite puisqu’il faut donner ses coordonnées. Accueil allant du très sympathique à l’indifférence total en fonction du personnel rencontré.

Ich habe ein großes Zimmer für 4
Personen gebucht, mir ist klar, dass ich keine 5 Sterne gebucht habe. Das Zimmer an sich war sauber, bis auf das Bad. Die haben uns ein Behinderte gerechtes Zimmer gegeben, hinter dem Klo war alles verschimmelt. Der Duschkopf war so alt, komplett verstopft. Man muss die Dusche irgendwie drehen, bis ein bisschen Wasser herauskam. Duschkopf im Baumarkt kostet gerade mal 5 bis 10 Euro, das ist nicht in Ordnung. Das habe ich an der Rezeption erwähnt. Der Rezeptionsmitarbeiter war super.

Das Zimmer selbst war ok, die Betten waren sauber. Die Schlafcouch war unerträglich. Dort schliefen unsere kinder 9 & 6 Jahre, bei jeder kleinsten Bewegung quietschte die Couch schrecklich. In der Küche waren viele Ameise, nichts offen stehen lassen!
Den Pool fanden die Kinder toll, hier wurde auch das Wasser vom Mitarbeiter kontrolliert.
Die Unterkunft ist weit außerhalb, aber für einen Zwischenstop ok.
