I appreciate it’s a hosel environment that offers hotel rooms however the vibe of the guests was a little strange, one guest tried to urinate in the lift late in the evening, and the noise in the hallways was super loud. Room was ok but basic, next time I’ll just book an Ibis

Room was not cleaned once and towels were not changed during a 4 night stay.
No tv in the premium room despite the description says so on their website.
The room was very dark, there’s not enough lamps.
No soundproofing, you can hear every step outside in the hallway or neighbors taking a shower.

The good: The staff was super friendly and helpful, the dormitory rooms are decently comfortable and provide all you need (light, usb charging, storage cabinet), the lunch/dinner options are decent (enjoyed the Salade Lyonnaise), and the location is not bad at all, specially considering you can just walk a couple minutes down to the \"mairie du 1er\" to take the C13 bus that's direct to the Part Dieu train station from where you can easily go to the airport with the shuttle tramway.

The average: Don't pay for the breakfast and use the shared kitchen instead. The choice is very limited and (to my taste at least) not particularly good. I ended up just drinking apple juice, some mandarines and a slice of bread because the \"quiche\" was compact as a brick, the croissants were so soggy you could make knots with them.

The bad: In the first night one of the guests (with apparently Tourette syndrom) spent many hours talking out loud making it completely impossible to sleep, that was solved by asking to move to another dormitory for the next night.

Very understaffed. Buffet breakfast vas very limited and ran out by 9am and wasn’t refilled.

Room was dusty and single bedsheets too small for the beds.

Staff not very helpful, surprising as they’re in a customer service role.

On the positive side the design and decoration of the hotel and communal area is great!

Great value for money

I had a great 6 day stay at Pilo. The pods are a great way to have a bit of privacy and feel like you're more in your own space, though don't be fooled – it's still fundamentally a hostel, but loads better if you find having to interact with people a bit awkward. The attached coffee shop/bar/restaurant is great. I was quite unwell one night which was a nightmare in a shared room, probably equally if not moreso for the other people in the room but the Pilo staff were so helpful.

I think my only real niggle is that whilst the bedding is perfectly serviceable and the beds comfy enough (and, fundamentally, you'd be a fool to expect luxury high thread count linen at these prices) it would be much nicer with relatively little outlay with some better pillows (also, it's in the name!)

The Hostel is very comfortable Nice and modern with a lovely bar on the ground floor.
The only negative point is the position,up on the hill,so it's not very easy to reach if you are coming with luggages or buggies and young kids. Overall is a good price for the expensive Lyon.

Ok hotel- lots of details to improve

The location of the hotel is very nice, sadly there are not many transport closeby and is very step (lots of stairs) to get to the hotel, to considered for elderly people or in disable situation. The hotel in general has a nice concept, the personal is very kind and is easy to get to the rooms. On improving points the cleaningness, I stayed for three nights but never cleaned the room, the breakfast is needing urgently more options and space, in rush hour is too crowded, not a lot of options, for the price seems a little expensive. The bed was comfortable but the bathroom was not so nice, the door was very difficult to access and the shower is very uncomfortable to bath in.

Hotel was clean and welcoming! Lots to do/eat on the ground floor. Room was a bit dark, but very comfortable. Hotel was close to everything, but located on a steep hill, so be prepared.

Good Hostel, Far From Train Station

Check-in was very easy. The room itself was a bit cramped with so many bed pods. It was quite difficult to make the bed yourself. The shower/bathroom was very clean and had multiple doors/locks for separation so many people could use it at once. It got very warm at night with so many bodies in the room. The restaurant was great, and with the keycard offered a 10% discount. My greatest complaint is that it is so far from the train station (about 1 hour walk) and sits on a steep hill. With buses on an odd schedule and the metro not close, it was difficult to reach.

I liked the cleaness but i didnt like a lot of slopes to get there, also towels are not provided, even homeless shelters provide free towels, why cant they do it? I dont like city taxes pay separately, should be included all, expédia, please do not separate city taxés, it just annoying to pay at premise.

L'hôtel est propre et le service donné par le personnel est excellent. Seulement, l'emplacement ne m'a pas plus puisque j'ai trouvé l'accès à difficile en raison des pentes et escaliers très nombreux à monter. Je n'avais pas envie de payer pour un taxi ou Uber a chaque fois que sortais de l'hôstel alors j'ai tout fais à pied jusqu'au métro les bus n'étant pas assez nombreux a mon goût.

We were surprised to find that our room had nothing more than beds in it! There were no places to sit, no desk, no table, no fridge, no closets, no space whatsoever. And there were a lot of stairs in our room which wasn’t indicated on the site. They were steep and slippery and dangerous for us and our kids. Also a shock was that the pictures on Expedia were of a different modern hotel.

New and very welcoming place! Walking distance to old city and other interesting places. Hotel has cafe on first floor, where they have a lot of different entertainments every evening. When we were there, it was a break dance competition night, was a lot of fun watching it! Also they have kitchen, where you can cook your own food, and you can relax in a room full of beanbag chairs. As for rooms, beds and pillows are very comfortable! Really nice and unique place to stay!

Huokea hostelli kävelymatkan päässä vanhastakaupungista. Sijaitsee keskellä rinnettä, eli ei sovi liikuntarajoitteisille. Hostellihuoneen sisustus mieleeni turhan teollinen ja ruskea. Talvella äänekäs ilmalämpöpumppu posotti läpi yönkin, olisi ollut mahdotonta nukkua ilman korvatulppia. Yhteiskeittiön vieressä oleva chill-out area oli nimensä mukaisesti jääkylmä, viltit olisivat voineet auttaa viihtymistä.

Cleanliness could be improved: the sheets were clean but the room itself was dirty/dusty. The same about common area/kitchen.
The only clean space was the highkey restaurant.
If you have heavy baggage better dont opt for this hostel as it would be difficult to carry it uphill.
Pros: good location, comfyatress, the girl at reception was friendly, you can leave your luggage for free.
Overall for a hostel: great price performamvr ratio.

Na verdade o estabelecimento é um Hostel com preço de hotel. Café da manhã com muito pouca variedade, quarto sem estrutura alguma, carpete sujo, com manchas. banheiro com limo, e apesar se minha estadia ser de 4 dias, não houve serviço de limpeza. Se eu quisesse, teria que pagar a parte. É possível ouvir o barulho do quarto de cima. Atendimento nada simpático. Nāo recomendo.

J’y ai passé deux nuits. Le personnel est très gentil et le petit-déjeuner propose l’essentiel, avec notamment une bonne salade de fruits frais. Seul bémol : le bip de l’ascenseur que j’entendais depuis ma chambre, et surtout les pas de la personne située à l’étage au-dessus (boum boum boum) qui ont un peu gâché la tranquillité. À noter aussi : l’hôtel se mérite, car il faut grimper la montée des Carmélites pour y accéder ;)

Chambre propre avec une vue côté terrasse où il y a le bar. Un peu bruyant. personnel sympathique. Petit déjeuné correct mais pas beaucoup de choix.
Pas de télévision dans la chambre.
L’accès à l’hôtel n’est pas idéal pour les personnes à mobilité réduite ou âgée si l’on vient en bus car il y a une grande montée pour accéder à l’hôtel depuis l’arrêt mairie.

La chambre et la literie était très bien mais dommage pour l’isolation phonique de la rue et le fait qu’il n’y ait pas de store pour la lumière du jour.

Les chambres sont biens et propres. Dommage qu il n y a pas de système de détection pour les veilleuses pour les lits en bas. Elles sont allumées toute la nuit :-(. 8 lits = 4 veilleuses alors si tu es habitué à dormir dans l'obscurité totale oublie le sommeil va tarder. L'équipe à l accueil est très bien. Keep it up!
