The property was very nice. It was in a great part of town. Lots of good restaurants right nearby. Parking was a few blocks away. My only complaint was that the room did not have a refrigerator. But everything else was great.

What a fantastic tourist location in Lyon. Everything we wanted was close by or a quick metro ride away. If we had rented a car my opinion would probably be different. Lots of cafes and restaurants and lots of shopping is right there. Room was adequate, not large, but not too small, was clean and had adequate air conditioning. Shower tub was very high walled and hard to step into. And the elevator doesn't go to your floor, it stops half a floor short. You still have a flight of stairs when you get off, like they knew they had to put in an elevator but don't really know why. Americans used to ADA standards will be a little stunned, but really most of France seems to be like this. There are so many cafes nearby we chose to skip the hotel breakfast. The room was stunningly quiet. We didn't hear any noise at all for four nights.

Good: perfect location to get to all the main attractions.
So so: building is very old, room had a musky smell. Maybe the ac was to blame. Good to have but i think it was giving such musky smell.
Incredibly tiny shower entrance. A person taller than 5 6 no kidding needs to duck to get in. Once in the shower is OK and clean. Separate toilet and shower/ sink. Very typical old French hotel

magnificent location

We stayed at the apartment and it was very confortable. a couple od dsofas were quite old and run down but the large kitchen and spaciousness compensated in excess. Parking is quite far. the entry to the apartment on the side of the main hotel is quite ugly and the elevator minute, Burt again the apartment made it worth it to look away.

We really enjoyed our stay at Best Western St Antoine. Rooms were modern and clean, the folks at reception always greet you with a smile, the location is perfect for walking to Old Lyon and also accessible to many cuisines and shopping. Only thing to take note is the lift stops at half floors so you would have to take a flight of steps to your room. Highly recommended and would stay here again if we come back to this beautiful city!

My only complaint is that the street was blocked off with construction and we had to drag our bags a block to the taxi stand. We are in our 70s and that was very hard on us. If i had known, i would have picked a different hotel. Solely due to that. Otherwise, we really liked the hotel and staff!

This is a budget hotel in a great location. The bed is not the most comfortable and we spent too much time killing mosquitos in our room. But the location is excellent, right close to old town in Lyon, and the price was very affordable. It had a nice comfortable shower. I marked it a 3 on cleanliness because we had so many mosquitos in our room not because it was dirty. It was clean.

An excellent location to access everywhere in Lyon, the room was clean, bed comfortable and the shower powerful with extra pillows and a hairdryer already available in the room. Shower gel & hand soap provided. The receptionists spoke fluent English and were courteous and helpful. We didn't have the breakfast but a buffet stylen continental was available at an extra €14 each. The hotel was good value for money and we had an excellent stay. The only downside was the lift was extra slow but at least it had one!

Beds were terrible, hard, uncomfortable and the pillows like bricks. Didn’t help with the paper thin walls to carry the noise through from the corridor and neighbouring rooms.
Tried to check in a little early as had been travelling all day and there was just no service on this, just told check in was 3pm. The hotel is in a really good location, need updating and made more French - we had a photo of Sydney opera house… use French landmarks instead.

We stayed in the family apartment which is adjacent to the hotel property. The apartment is what is needed for a family on holiday or vacation. It is spacious, clean and offers the amenities you do not have with a simple hotel room.

The elevator is small, so with a family of four, it required 4 separate trips to bring everyone up and down with their luggage, so plan on that. The thing is that you are paying for the space and amenities, so a few extra runs of the elevator is a minor thing. I have no problem recommending the apartment as a place for a family of 4 stay and would do so again on a trip to Lyon.

Central location, clean, accommodating staff

This hotel is located in a very central spot - right in the middle of shopping, dining, and more! The weekend market is right across the street. The hotel is clean. Only downside is that the rooms are very small, but you are in the center of the city. Our luggage did not make it on our flight with us and we informed the hotel staff. They were unbelievably kind enough to stay after hours and wait until our luggage got dropped off at 1:30AM. To say the least, the staff was very kind, helpful, and accommodating.

Great Value Hotel in Excellent Central Location

Overall a great stay offering fantastic value. Excellent location in the heart of Lyon, plenty of attractions, shops and restaurants nearby.
Very friendly staff who were able to provide information and suggestions about places to visit in the city.
One thing to note is that the lift stops at an intermediate floor, so you may have to carry luggage up/down about 6 steps.
The only negative I had was that the fire alarm went off at 4am so had to evacuate and stand outside for approximately 10/15 minutes. I'm not sure what triggered it so can't blame the hotel as it could have been due to a guest.

The hotel is located next to the busy streets with lots of restaurants and the only inconvenience was that people were partying until 2 - 3 am. if you are a light sleeper, ask for a room that is not facing the street. It didn't bother us so much, but i can see how it can be disturbing for others. the staff was very nice and helpful, the room was big, but a little outdated, which was fine with us. we got a room with a kitchenette, which was very nice, it had an iron, extra towels, pillows. the shower was great. overall, we liked the location and the hotel.

-There was trash left from the last guests in the bathroom trash can - the staff had not changed the bag.
-They must have used a cleaning product to clean the tea cups from the last guests. We both choked on our first sip and I almost threw up. It tasted like disenfectant or similar. Disgusting and could have made us seriously ill.

The hotel is in a great location. It’s not the best hotel to choose from. For a hotel it is lacking a few things such as a small fridge in the room, there is a kettle but nowhere to plug it in, the windows didn’t open all the way as the curtain rail was blocking it, the bathroom was so small I had to dry off in the main bedroom area but, the staff where all nice and smiling.
The location is very good as it’s near the square, restaurants and the river.

I believe the lobby was under construction at the time of our stay, so my review may not reflect what it normally looks like. Our room was not ready when we arrived, which was understandable since we were early. But when we returned and were told the room was ready, we walked into a dirty room with leftovers from the previous guests. They did end up fixing it up in a timely manner. The breakfast was 13 Euro, but when we tried it majority of the food was gone and not refilled so we did not end up purchasing the breakfast again. However, at the very affordable price and being in a prime location, I can't really complain about this hotel's simplicity. It had what we needed, no frills. It was clean and cheap and in a great spot, so we definitely do not regret staying here at all.

My room was quiet, newly renovated and well finished. But the bedroom was so small that I had to dance around the bathroom door to get in or out of the bathroom (it would only open 90 degrees and was right against the bed in that position).

We really enjoyed our stay in Best Western Saint Antoine,the hotel itself , for a fairly basic hotel was great, I mean perhaps at sometime it will need updating but we have no complaints ,the staff were amazing , friendly and helpful to us it was cleaned beautifully.
This hotel is situated very well to get to everwhere , love the hop on hop off buses , the boats , information and just for walking, the shops are really , it's very central for everything, and of course historically it's amazing, the buildings are beautiful.

We were very happy with the hotel - the location was superb. Front desk staff were capable and helpful. Room was more spacious than we expected and everything was recently refurbished, including the bathroom. The king sized bed was incredibly comfortable and luxurious. The one single down side was that there was no view - just an outlook onto the walls of the lightwell.

One Night Stay

A one night stay in a perfectly located hotel. It was located about 30 minutes walk from the Rail Station and gave us a chance to view some of the delights of Lyon. The reception staff were always polite and helpful. The room was quite small, but was fine for a one night stay for my Wife and I. Situated close to the old town just across the bridge where there are ample restaurants and bars with a very chilled out atmosphere. We were delighted with the place and were only sorry we had to move on the next day to travel to Paris. We are already talking about returning next year with family for another short break and will definitely look at Best Western again.

The hotel was great but the air conditioning didn't work in one room and the family room apartment that we also rented did not have any air conditioning. The description says climate controlled with to me means you can control climate of all degrees not just turn on heat. Everything else was great but it is noisy to sleep with the Windows open.

Bad choice if you need to have windows open.

The hotel is reasonable, well-situated, decently appointed. The room was pretty darn small - hard to get around the bed to open the window, but could be done. Bathroom and shower area ok for one person. My issue with this hotel is that in the alley behind the hotel, where probably half of the rooms give on to, there are very loud, annoying youth going up and down and often loitering therein. They yell and carry on all night - literally through to 7AM on the Friday night that I stayed. As they don't have good ventilation (no A/C) and it was rather warm in August, I was required to have the window open to breathe and sleep. The cackle went on through the entire night. I don't think most people could sleep through it. I would not stay here again, at least never on that side of the hotel. The other side gives on a fairly main street into the centre of town, so I am guessing that would be more car and transit noises coming in.

Hotel for vacationers to Lyon

The location of the hotel is excellent. It was in easy walking distance of the tourist office at Bellecour where you can get transportation information as well as info about sights to see in Lyon. Plus, it was nicely situated close to shopping.

The room was small with a comfortable queen bed and adequate storage space. Very little room around the bed. But the bathroom was clean and had a decent hair dryer.

The breakfast was included in the cost of the room and it was excellent. Good coffee and a good assortment of items.

The room I had was on the top floor and the air-conditioner was not cooling the room despite the fan that was in the room. I requested a different room for the next night and the air-conditioner worked very well but there was cigaret smoke wafting through the room the entire evening. Not good for my allergies and I didn't sleep much.

3 Day stay after River Cruise

The location of this hotel is outstanding; close to the
Saone River and within walking distance to the old city and the city center. Also within a block of many local restaurants (no English on menues but great food and prices). For an old European Hotel this Hotel is in great condition, clean and great service by the staff. They definitely deserve the Best Western designation as they meet all their standards, They also had a computer and printer availabe at no charge which allowed me to print our boarding passes for our flight home.
Highly recommend this Hotel for all except those seeking a big luxury type Hotel.
Would definately stay at this hotel again if we get back to Lyon.

The room was small, but well appointed. The bathroom had been remodeled and the shower was lovely- everything was clean. The bed was very comfortable. I have stayed at a 4 star Lyon hotel for twice the money and would not do so again. This hotel has everything you need if you are in Lyon to enjoy the sights, not sit in your room! :-) Location was excellent, right across the bridge from old town. I would recommend this hotel easily.

Great location and friendly staff!

Pretty good experience overall. The hotel was located in a great place - right off of the bridge of the Palais du Justice. It was really close to old town and a few steps away from the Saturday and Sunday market along the riverside in Lyon.

Nous avons débuté par une chambre avec une fenêtre qui ne donnait pas sur la rue. Le personnel a gentiment, accepté de nous changer dans une autre chambre car nous étions claustrophobe. Nous sommes arrivés dans une chambre très propre, sauf que un dimanche à 8h30 des travaux commençaient dans la chambre d’à côté et toute la matinée. C’est inacceptable de payer aussi cher un logement et de dormir dans ces conditions.
