This was one of the most disturbing hotel experiences our family has ever had, and we are documenting it very carefully.
At breakfast, the dining room was nearly empty, with only one other occupied table besides ours. My daughter ate the scrambled eggs served by the hotel. The eggs tasted and smelled wrong, and they were heavily seasoned in a way that appeared intended to mask their poor quality. Approximately four hours later, my daughter became violently ill with severe, uncontrollable diarrhea. Her condition deteriorated to the point that she could not leave the toilet, had repeated loss of bowel control, and had to be taken to the emergency room. She was then transferred by ambulance to a children’s hospital, where she has been hospitalized. We are currently awaiting medical test results and are preserving all records in connection with this incident. If the evidence confirms food contamination or food poisoning linked to this hotel, we will pursue the matter accordingly…
Two days earlier, we also had a separate issue involving a private Roman Forum tour booked through the hotel. We booked and paid for three people, but one family member ultimately did not attend. The tour provider informed us that the third-person charge would not apply, yet the hotel still insisted on collecting an additional €100 in cash for that person. Given the circumstances, we paid it, but we found this handling of the charge inappropriate….
