Difficult to locate initially, restaurant staff next door assisted us with location. Xtra fees added upon arrival. No access code to door entrance we had to obtain from another guest. No information where to leave added fees cash payment or what to do with door key upon departure. Virtually no communication with staff in any way until we notified them we vacated. Very disappointed would not recommend.

The wonderful lady in charge of cleaning the rooms and making breakfast was an absolute angel on earth. My mother ended up in the hospital and we had to fly home early and she was so helpful and kind. She went above and beyond at every single opportunity. I wish I had gotten her name. She did not speak English and I did not speak Italian but we made it work and she bent over backwards to make sure we were taken care of.

The housekeeper staff lady that was mainly there was so sweet and very helpful even with a language barrier between us. She was always so kind. She made us stay special. I dropped my keys somewhere outside as well and they were very nice and gave me a new one for €10. I would stay here again.

Great location! Walking distance to all the major Rome attractions. Setup was nice for our room for 4 people. Spacious room and bathroom. Unfo. the beds were all a bit uncomfortable (bumpy) - luckily a 1 night stay for us. For the premium cost for 1 night - would have expected a much better breakfast, but no harm - there were some light snacks setup. All communication to hotel through email and text. No live person at the location. Hotel arranged to airport shuttle (but was double the cost of taking taxi).

The hotel is comfortable, central, and clean, albeit small. Me and my family stayed here for two nights. In that time we were able to visit many different landmarks thanks to how close the hotel is to mostly everything. The executive room is small, and it was a little uncomfortable for four people. There usually isn’t any staff present at the hotel, with the exception of the cleaning lady in the morning. Silvia was really nice to us, giving the hotel a warmer touch. I’d recommend this hotel for groups of three or less who are looking for a simple, clean, and well located stay.

This property is in need of serious maintenance. This was the worst stay on our trip by far. Entry door is so warn out the buttons work to let you in less than 50 percent if the time. Holes in walls, black mold throughout bathroom, bed was so old and used I was stuck sleeping in a hole than I could not roll out of. The safe was not bolted in, and as other reviewers commented there is no one on aite afternoons and evenings. The woman that works there is very nice, but the maintenance needed is way beyond surface cleaning. The food was all packaged and stale except for one morning that were were offered boiled eggs. Do not recommend, giant rip off.

Extremely convenient location in Rome’s center
The best part of this residence is its excellent, central location on Via del Corso in Rome’s center. The hotel staff was also extremely responsive via WhatsApp and helped with arrival instructions, getting us a fan because the room was hot, etc. For the price though, it felt quite expensive for a small guest house with limited amenities.

The property is in a very intimate setting. Only a few rooms with a shared common area. The rooms are large with bathroom and cold air conditioning. The staff was wonderful, quite welcoming and very helpful. We felt right at home. The property is centrally located in the city center with plenty of shopping, dining and attractions within close walking distance. We loved our stay here. We would definitely consider staying here again if we travel back to Rome.

There were three of us traveling in our room. There was enough space for us without being on top of each other. The rooms were clean and well taken care of and were well air conditioned for those hot summer days.

Guests next to our room got drunk and left their child in their room and they came back to hotel at 12.30 am and started banging and breaking doors of their room so their child can open doors . They didn’t want to stop even when we asked them to stop . They screamed their child name Brian out of top of their lungs no matter that they are in hotel and as much as we tried to tell them to stop they didn’t . They were even louder and louder and they woke up every guest in horror . It was literally nightmare they tried to break doors in and they didn’t stop. So our vacation was totally ruined

This is a small boutique hotel. It is in a great location and you feel immersed in the culture. It’s not fancy but it’s very nice. Everything you need. Awesome location, with great restaurants, gellato shops, and bus stops right outside. 5 mins walks to Trevi and Pantheon, 10min to Spanish steps. We even walked to the Tiber river in 15 to 20 mins and then took a bus back. Direct bus routes to Colosseum, Palazo Venetia, and Roma Termini. City tax is collected in cash, so carry some euros. Included breakfast was very good, though it is pretty much the same daily. They can communicate over whatsapp, so you don't need phone number and just data with esim is fine. Vodaphone esim worked great for us. 2GB was enough for 7 days.

This is a tremendous B&B. The room was very comfortable with a good AC. Breakfast pastries beat many of the local restaurants. Great coffee and hard-boiled eggs fixed to order. Know that this facility does not have a person present 24/7–it is a B&B. The owners are very attentive and respond on WhatsApp promptly. It is centrally located with restaurants and shopping right out your front door. I would not hesitate to stay here next time we’re in Rome. A lively residence that meets all your needs.

The room is tiny- no countertops- no drawers- very little space- beds are like cots and low to the ground.
We picked for 3 reasons- 1. Air conditioning- and it was broken during our stay in late May but they said “ you are welcome to use the fan we provided” not the same thing! They did discount the room
For this issue after I complained.
2. Elevator- well there is an old tiny one that holds a person and 2 bags BUT. it doesn’t take you to your floor- only close. You still have to walk up or down a flight of stairs to get to your tiny, basic room. It appears to stop on half floors where there are no rooms.
3. Location - that was good
But we should have never booked this place. It’s like staying in a hostel and we are grown adults - we aren’t college kids back-packing through Europe.
Also room advertised 1 king and 2 twins. The King was actually a queen and all 4 beds were jammed together with little pace to get out in between.
Bathroom small- no countertop anywhere. No shelves.
So haul your luggage up to 4th floor (cause they call the first floor 0). Get to your tiny, cramped, hot room and try to sleep on your small prison cot.
Oh and no access to cool water even for the breakfast- which is mainly cookies and juice.

We had a wonderful stay at the Residenza Sciarra. We were able to walk to all the major attractions, and restaurants. It was in a wonderful location and we felt very secure there. The restaurant downstairs was excellent as was the staff. Would stay there again.

This place located right in the heart of Rome! There is a very vibrant restaurant by the entrance. The hotel consists of 4-5 rooms and common area for breakfast. Rooms are small. The description of this place does not match reality, but it does have two good points: 1. Location, 2. Hot water in the shower.
It’s not a king size bed, there’s no front desk or reception, there’s no laundry service, it’s super hard to find which is so stressful when you first arrive in a new city. We texted with the host but never saw anyone, she wasn’t able to help us in any way, its basically a hostel. If I knew what I was getting into it probably wouldn’t have been so frustrating.

I sleep on a memory foam mattress at home, this is not a feature of memory foam, it’s just an old mattress that needs to be replaced.
It’s not a king size bed, there’s no front desk or reception, there’s no laundry service, it’s super hard to find which is so stressful when you first arrive in a new city. We texted with the host but never saw anyone, she wasn’t able to help us in any way, its basically a hostel. If I knew what I was getting into it probably wouldn’t have been so frustrating.

The hotel owner, staff and the location are amazing. However a few areas for improvement are better details on the actual location and where to enter the building, better air conditioning as the room never cooled off enough and providing shampoo and conditioner would be appreciated.

We stayed at Residenza Sciarra as a family of 4 (2teenagers). The B&B is a little tricky to located, but the taxi driver knew exactly where to take us. The people who run this B&B were very good with communicating with me ahead of time and arranged both the pickup and drop of to the airport. I was able to communicate with them anytime through Whatsapp, so very convenient. The B&B is not manned, but all instructions and door lock codes were all provided to us.
The B&B itself is SPOTLESS!!! They are excellent at cleaning. There is housekeeping daily, and towel exchange every 2 days. We never had an issue with anything. The breakfast is continental, with Delicious croissants, little sandwiches, yogurts, cereals, mild and juice and coffee! more than enough to get our day started!

Decent place, great location
The hosts were super helpful sending instructions and photos to make sure we found the door which is slightly off the main road. Location is amazing. Short walk to all the big sites which was awesome. The room is small - there were 4 people in our room, I think a queen or double and two small cots. The bed had a huge sinkhole. Very uncomfortable but the AC worked and there was coffee and food in the morning.

I’m sure some folks would be okay with this lodging, but it was our least favorite of the 6 places we stayed in Italy. The location was between restaurants in a very touristy area. Up three flights of stairs to a very small room. Air conditioner hasn’t been cleaned in awhile and was full off dust and smelled like moldy cheese when running. One positive was the car service that was waiting right outside and quickly got us to the airport.

The property does NOT look at all like the picture. The place was dirty, walls weren’t even painted, it smelled, etc. When I told the owner we would not stay there and had to find another hotel, I got a smiley face emoji in response! They also charged us the full amount and then another $164 for some unknown reason. They will not refund our money. These people are falsely advertising their property and are terrible. Do not stay here!

The property was so close to all the major sites. The staff was so easy to work with with manager next door. The self checkin process was easy and the noise level was low. The triple room was a bit tight but worked for us. The bathroom was nice although the room could use a bit of updating. There was a restaurant at the bottom of the stairs and they were so friendly. Location was great!!! Walking distance to Pantheon and Trevi fountain and lots of shops and restaurants. We had a rental car parking was a little difficult but we were able to find a public parking close to hotel for about $60 a day. The host Sara was very responsive and helpful during our stay. The lady that is there in the morning helping with breakfast was so nice and kind. Everything was clean and smelled good.

She was so helpful. She sent us emails about our upcoming stay, directions etc. She was there when we arrived. She walked us to our room, show us around and explained how things worked and told us what we needed to do to check out, get the bus and train to airport. The breakfast was continental but very good. The rooms were bigger than most and very adequate and bathroom fine. She even came back on her off day to see to our questions that the recept/cleaner could not understand us. She spoke very good English. Very considerate. I highly recommend with a great location.

its someones large apartment converted into a hotel. I was skeptical at first but it felt home very quickly. Everything is euro style tiny, its right in the heart of the neighborhood off a main road, i loved just opening the windows at night and listening to the people below and cars drive by. the windows close and you hear nothing, the rooms are well sound proofed. It was almost too quiet, i wish there was a fan to make noise. Breakfast was served with enthusiasm and was breads and deli meats. Theres a toaster in the room.

We had a wonderful stay! The staff is friendly and the room was perfect for our needs. The hotel is right next to a pharmacy for covid testing (you will see a white tent). There is also a great restaurant just steps away. It is a short walk to many major sites. The owners even called a cab for us and stored our bags so we could do some sightseeing after we checked out. Highly recommend!

No need to think twice about staying here! Everything about La Papessa is absolutely perfect. For one, the price is very reasonable for everything you get. It is located right in the heart of everything, under a five minute walk to the Trevi fountain and Pantheon and about a 15-20 minute walk to Vatican and Colosseum. Many great restaurants and shopping all around. There is even a pharmacy right downstairs to take covid tests required for travel. But the main reason I would stay here a million times over is because of host and owner Caterina. She provides such great hospitality and a comforting vibe to every guest that walks through the door that you will not find anywhere else. Upon my booking, Caterina contacted me regarding my flight details and arranged transportation to and from the airport for us (which arrived on time). She also responded in a timely manner for any questions or concerns we had prior to our arrival. Upon arrival, Caterina waited for us to check in, offered us some coffee, showed us our room and provided us with a map and some recommendations. We loved her so much that we rebooked another night here when we returned to Rome before flying out the next morning. I ended up having some issues with my flight the early morning of and she was so kind to allow us to stay another night and found me a pharmacy open on a Sunday for a new Covid test as we arranged a new flight. I cannot say enough good things about her and hope to see her again one day!

If you’re looking for a modern hotel, this is not the place for you. If you’re looking for an authentic Roman experience with staff that do everything they can to help and minutes away from many prominent tourist destinations, then this is the perfect place. 5 minute walk to the Trevi fountain, 8 minute walk to the Pantheon, 20 minute walk to the Colosseum, 30 minute walk to Vatican. I felt like a local going into my flat every night and walking around Rome. It was a fun experience and Catriana really IS as amazing as all the reviews state. She goes above and beyond to make sure every need is met. She sent detailed video instructions for self-check in, photos and texts and emails, and even left a tourist map in our room with highlighted and post-it note comments and suggestions. She made phone calls for us, taxi arrangements, and anything we needed she looked into and got back to us right away. She really made the stay amazing for us.
