The front desk needs some training on communicating with customers. The photos showcase a pool - please note that there is no hot tub. It said recently renovated, but it was still aging and it showed. The bathroom was dirty as were the room carpets. There are multiple couches situated in the hallways outside of rooms where people congregate and chat loudly at all hours. The hotel may want to invest in some visible security. Multiple sketchy people were loitering and parking is a serious issue here. Did not feel safe travelling with children.

I was asked to put down a security deposit of $150. That wasn’t on my total due at property upon check in when I secured my stay. Sandman staff wouldn’t give me a receipt saying it had been refunded told me to contact Expedia? I don’t understand why as Expedia didn’t ask for a deposit or even state I needed to apply one? Now I have to wait up to 5 business days?

Centrally located to every daily need. Denny’s is attached to the property if you're into it. Check in was very smooth and the King bed room was updated and standard affair. The property’s interior has been updated however the exterior is very dated. We were in town for a short stay and for the price, the property was suffice. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Indoor pool was a bonus and worth visiting for a quick workout. I would likely splurge and extra $75 a night to stay at the new Best Western for a brand new property. If you’re shooting for a budget friendly stay in a 3 star property, it gets the job done.

The manager was super sweet and polite, helped me out a lot. The room was clean and it had a clean smell, they refreshed my room a couple times with fresh towels, toiletries, coffee, and tea, and took out the trash as well.
They have a pretty big indoor pool which is heated, it was so nice after a long travel day, they provided extra towels waiting for you in the pool room which is super nice. Over all this stay was so nice and made my trip amazing. Highly recommend and will come back again:)

We stayed at the Sandman in Vernon, BC for 6 nights. Right from the first moment of arrival we were greeted warmly by the General Manager. We travel with our Golden Retriever and she was welcomed with enthusiasm, treats, and snuggles. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was the best we have ever had with a super shower head, lots of hot water and amazing water pressure. There was plenty of parking and a Denny's attached to the hotel. The entire staff reflected Mr. Ali's warmth and enthusiasm. We wouls highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Vernon.

I’m not sure how the rooms were because I was unable to stay. The hotel requires guests to pay a $150 deposit that can only be done with a credit card. The woman at the front desk was apologetic and I get it, it’s not her policy, but it’s not advertised on this site or on theirs. Plus it’s ridiculous that it can’t just be paid with a debit card. I had to drive over an hour to get home then go to work in the morning.
Furthermore I’m having a hell of a time getting a refund for my room because I was charged by hotels.ca after booking the room even though I was told when booking the room I wouldn’t be charged. I tried to cancel the booking, but was told it’s not possible because check in had passed. Fine, tried to get some help with customer service and they can’t find my booking with my name or phone number. I had to search for 15 minutes to find a number to call customer support but of course no one can find my phone number. I can’t find a confirmation email and I can only talk to customer service if I have a confirmation number.
So now unless I get this fixed and refunded I’m out $118. I’m not happy with how this booking site is run.

Good stay except for a few small things
Everything great except for three small things. One—the mini fridge was too cold and was freezing things. Two—- one of my pet peeves from many hotels— the plug did not work in the bathroom sink which makes it difficult to shave or wash your face. Three—the hot and cold symbols were reversed on the shower faucet so my wife almost scalded herself when she tried to take a shower. But the bed was good, the room was clean, and it was quiet.

2 of our kitchenette rooms had ant issues. Not a few a lot- they were swarming out of the floor and walls! One of our rooms had a cracked tub, and you could see rust around the faucet. With dogs allowed, expect to hear them bark through the night. Not recommended!

Upon arrival at this hotel there was absolutely ZERO parking. The lot was full along with the Denny’s lot as well. We advised the agent at the front desk which he told us to “park in the sand” which we ended up doing. This was fine in the end, however, it was frustrating as when we arrived it was quite late already and we just wanted to get checked in to go to bed. No complaints about the room itself. Room was comfortable and found in another off shoot of the hotel. Lobby and carpets are tired and beat up a bit. Would be great to see TILE or washed glazed cement to update if carpet to expensive. Cleaner especially with pool and allergens these days. Having Dennys linked to hotel was convenient..., providing clients a discount would be another PLUS for repeat business.

Caused PAIN to my elderly mother
What a nightmare this was for my disabled mother. They had no elevation and put us in the basement without saying anything about that not being assessable for someone who can’t take stairs. She had to take two flights of steps to get to the room which caused her nerve pain to flair up and her to have troubles sleeping.
It was a getaway for her 70th birthday and this really put a damper on things. Not to mention even if you can take stairs, who wants to tug suitcases up and down stairs.
Not me.

When the lady asked how the stay was and I said terrible and explain why the lady said sorry but without conviction but the man in the suit just looked at me and I think played dumb. I feel like he already knew the story.
What’s the point of asking that question if you don’t care when someone has a horrible time.

And I also didn’t get to sleep until 4am helping her.
Very disappointed and do not recommend because if they can miss this who knows what else they miss.
It was a getaway for her 70th birthday and this really put a damper on things. Not to mention even if you can take stairs, who wants to tug suitcases up and down stairs.
