This was the worst stay I’ve ever had at a Choice Hotel! First I checked in between 7:30-8 only to be informed that the hot tub in my room couldn’t be used from 9pm to 6am as a Choice reward member and as many Comfort inns if as I’ve stayed at that has never been an issue especially when the “jetted hot tub” is literally in the bathroom & a 1/3 of the size! This defeated the whole purpose of getting a hot tub suite I.E paying extra, on top of the room having no air conditioning and the room being uncomfortably hot through the night

The staff here is wonderful and always so pleasant. My air conditioner was not working the first night but they did fix it the next day. There were stains on the blankets and the carpet could use vacuuming in the room. Overall it was a comfortable place to sleep.

The room was great. Only problem is airport shuttle. Thats why I booked this hotel. Once arrived got 2 different stories. One said shuttle is 12 midnight or 5am. Then another clerk told me they ran 7am to 7pm. My flight leaves at 6am. Needless to say hunting for ubers fast. Comfy bed and clean room.

My husband and I were driving back to our hometown and stopped to rest for the night. Around 10:30pm, we were already asleep, when we hear someone trying to come into our room. Two guys were outside, saying that they were going to do maintenance to our room, they needeed to change or switch the thermostat. My husband didn't let them in and called the front office and they confirmed that they had maintenance people but didn't know why they went to our room. We felt disrespected, did not feel safe, and were surprised to see the lack of communication between the staff. Definitely not a good experience.

The property itself is nice. Currently it’s under construction so for instance the window in my room sounded like it was open. When I pulled back the curtains the window was covered in plastic and couldn’t see outside. Lynda at the front desk was amazing. She was so helpful and such a pleasure to talk to. So friendly and pleasant. I’d stay again just because of her.

The property was under some type of construction. The windows were covered with plastic. Inside it was hard to tell if they were beginning a revamp or in the process. Just all around run down. The shower curtain was not properly placed, the faucet dripped, elevator often did not work. Again, the staff was extremely pleasant. Location was great to Notre Dame, its saving grace.

The hotel is in renovation and the details of the room was revealed as poorly done. The shower curtain was literally “caulked” to the wall. The shower head shot all the way across the bathroom as it was not properly installed. The tub water spout was caulked to the tub and loose. The phone didn’t work and there was no way (finally unplugged) the led lighting to sleep. We were told that we were put in a “completely finished” room on the 4th floor.

On a positive note the breakfast was excellent and delicious. For the rates charged for a Notre Dame football weekend; this hotel was a disappointment and we didn’t get our money’s worth.

Doubt I would stay here again. We make this trip every year or two and will make a different decision next time.

Anything you might do to make adjustments to final costs would be a nice gesture!

It’s old, but fine

We’ve stayed here before for ND games, so I knew what to expect. The hotel is old and needs to be redone. Cons - Lots of chipping paint, kind of dingy feeling, more expensive for game weekends than it should be given what it is. Also there were three pieces of equipment in the fitness center and none work. Pros - close to campus and the staff is extremely nice. My kids love how the decorate the lobby/cake for home games.

This hotel needs a lot of help. The carpet was extremely dirty in our room. The shower door didn't close so water all over the bathroom floor. There is no shelves in the showet so everything sits on the shower floor. They dont clean your rooms unless requested. The tv only had 5 channels and needs to be replaced. The elevator is old and worked when it wanted. I would suggest to not waste your money on the hotel. Comfort Suites you should be ashamed of this location.

I would stay there again if there were no other more expensive hotels with availability. It's not so bad that you can't stay there. And the staff is very nice and professional...they can't help that they have an older, rundown hotel to manage. The only positive comment I can make about this hotel is that the young lady who checked us in, (with long black curly hair) was very pleasant when we checked in. That said, this property is run down, and not well-maintained. Our room was damp, dark and dirty. We were there for three nights and the room was only “cleaned” once while we were there. The door to the room and hallway outside the room had black scuff marks in various places and it appeared as if someone had attempted to remove the peep hole from the door to our room. The hallway also smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. The elevator down button pointed to the side (not up or down) and was very slow. In addition, we told Lilly at the front desk after our first night that we booked an extra night in error and we were only staying three nights instead of four. Lilly told us she could do nothing since we booked the hotel through a third party - Expedia - and we must “call them.” Even if true, it was clear that she had no interest in assisting us and she made no attempt to contact her manager to discuss the matter. Moreover, Lilly refused to provide us with a receipt upon check out, and said that too had to be obtained through Expedia. In all the years that I’ve traveled for work and pleasure, I’ve never been denied a receipt upon request, and typically, with more than 24 hours notice of early check out, I have not been charged for the extra night. I am disappointed in the very poor service we received.

First, let me say that this hotel was cheaper than everything else in the area so I should not expect 4 or 5-star quality at the price I paid. Second, the staff was excellent. But…I won’t stay at this hotel again as it simply isn’t nice enough…outdated, door wouldn’t shut properly, toilet routinely stuck and husband fixed, towels subpar, paint chipped throughout hotel, pool. Red refurbishing, parking lot needs repaving, and I could go on and on. But that’s why the price was the cheapest. So if price is your #1 priority, then stay here with realistic expectations. I just thought I was getting a good deal at this price so booked it, not realizing there is a reason it’s cheaper than everywhere else. If every other more expensive place was sold out, I would stay here again…it’s acceptable, just not preferred.

My sister got bed bug bites or spider bites while in bed during our first night there. Our second morning, the elevator broke and my family was stuck in the elevator for about 30 minutes. The fire department needed to be called to get us out of the elevator. Our Key Cards needed to be rekeyed several times because we would not get into our rooms. It was a terrible experience.

Very worn and aging hotel

We needed a pet friendly place for a stop on our way to northern MI. I’m sure this hotel was a grand lady in her early days. It is now worn and aging. From the peeling paint, very worn and dirty carpet, stained walls, moldy bathrooms etc it was not a pleasant experience. Add in the smell of weed and pet smells. The heating/air had one setting and seemingly one temperature. This place had pretty high reviews when we chose it. Very deceiving. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was actually quite good but the facilities are long ago in need of some major attention.

Easily the worst customer service I’ve ever encountered at a hotel.

I booked a room for two nights on a Friday around noon. Just six hours later, I had a medical emergency and tried to cancel. The response? A flat “no.” Nearly $900 charged for a room I couldn’t even use.

Apparently, this hotel believes “hospital bills + hotel bills = great customer care.” Spoiler: it doesn’t. Unreasonable, unprofessional, and unforgettable—but for all the wrong reasons.

This was a good location for me. The property is being renovated, so it's a little rough but was clean. There were lots of choices for the free breakfast. The prices were reasonable compared to others in the near vicinity. ND students were returning, and hotels were really raising their prices. Comfort was still reasonable. The staff was excellent. Friendly and very accommodating. I would stay here again.

Nearly Robbed and can rent by the hour. I was cornered in the elevator as the guy wanted money from me, he even tried to follow me to my room with my 7yr old daughter. Went back to room and called Expedia and they told me to go tell the front desk. Went downstairs and the reception told me many people live there like an apartment. Told me i was there for 3 hrs and wouldnt refund me. Told me I should have told him sooner about the crook trying to rob me an follow me to my room. Told him i took my daughter back, then called Expedia and went to front desk. Said still not quick enough. Made a deal if i ledt in 20 min and disnt say a word I could leave with refund.

Went down the road and 2 hotels told me that its now basically an apartment and they even rent rooms by the hour

We arrived at 9pm and were told that our room was not ready. It was supposed to be ready by 3pm that day so there was really no excuse to why it wasn’t ready yet.
Once they were finished “cleaning” it we get told there would be a strong smell due to air freshener spray. (Something no one wants to hear especially this late into the night) As soon as we open the door we are hit with a horrible chemical smell.
Wet marks on the floor and furniture where someone tried to scrub out something. The ac unit was leaking water into the carpet right next to the bed. Bathroom was dirty. Dead bolt was bent so it provided no extra security.
On top of it all the hotel had spot lights shining right into our window making the nightmare really feel never ending.
Breakfast was the only good part of the stay.

This place is in a state of disrepair and the beds were dirty. Has Housekeeping change the sheets on 2 of 3 beds! Also the floor wasn't vacuumed. The shower has mold.

The public bathrooms downstairs aren't much better and the pool area is broken, broken furniture, patio doors left open by staff (doesn't look like they would close anyway) and overall in need of maintenance and upgrading.

We booked a king size bedroom and when we first walked in it smelled extremely musty. After a few minutes we realized that the carpet was all wet around the AC and past the bed and so we went to the front desk where they upgraded our room to a king size with jacuzzi tub. This room was good and felt reasonably clean but the bed was still terrible and needed upgrading. The staff was very nice but it seems like there could be poor management since every store area you seen just utter chaos and a mess.

This place was absolutely a mess! I went to the elevators to the 3rd floor where our room was the floors were filthy the second we got off the elevator the whole floor smelled like weed . I go into our room and it smelled horrible old musty the pillows had koolaid stains all over them the cover on the bed had stains . Kinda dark when you walk in the building. Weird smell. Only 1 front desk attendant. Had to wait like 10 min until finally someone helped us. Elevators were dirty and stunk. Room door frame was damaged. Door didn't shut all the way unless you pushed or pulled it closed. Room was dark and really had a foul smell to it. The main light didn't work. Windows were filthy with smeared hand prints.

The room smelled, there was hair all over the bathroom, paint was peeling, and overall the property was dirty — just to name a few of the unpleasant things. We also didn’t arrive to the hotel until 1am and when asked if we could get a late checkout we were told such a request would be at an additional cost.

Then we found ants in the room. Yuck! We tired to call down to the front desk but the phone didn’t work. We called from our cell phones we were told that because the front desk attendant was alone she could not bring our new keys to us. So down to the front lobby we went in our pajamas — twice because the new room keys were not programmed currently.

The second wasn’t much better. Dead bugs & broken tile in the bathroom, a carpet that hadn’t been vacuumed and a toilet that wouldn’t stop running. DO NOT stay at the hotel if you want any amount of restful sleep. It was good for a laugh if nothing else.
