Wait staff a little “stiff” in comparison to other nearby restaurants. Some unexpected restrictions at Cilantro i.e. can’t have a drink without food? Mini-bar repeatedly not replenished even after asking. We also didn’t get our “free” bottle of wine. Housekeeping has been better in other properties. Now, we are experienced world travelers but a first in beautiful Croatia and we extended our stay following a meeting.

Much improved… visited 2022 and was disappointed with the club breakfast, poor food and beverage options there and slightly tired space. This has been revamped and is now worthy of a 5* hotel. Breakfast choices excellent this time in the club, improved quality and options! Proper, fresh orange juice not diluted. The rooms are the same and very clean but starting to feel a little tired so could do with a refresh. Staff friendly and pleasant but communication surrounding pool closures is poor. Lots of closures due to events and there are others but a bit of notice would be good. Concierge not massively helpful or knowledgeable. Felt we knew more about the area and restaurants than they did! Really need to improve recommendations. Also they could do with updating their towels - grey and not fluffy.
Last time was unsure if would revisit and visited this time on a whim but would definitely return.

We stayed in the club level. Nice rooms drinks from 11 to 11 spa was very nice and the private day tours they have available at the resort into Montenegro, Bosnia, to Split, etc. or very nice only a 20 minute ride to old town Dubrovnik would stay again.

Disappointed that entire rooftop was reserved for a private party on our final evening and we had no notice about that until we went up to enjoy it. Secondly our dining reservation was cancelled one night at a restaurant we had hoped to dine at due to the same large party blocking it. We should have been notified about these “blocks” upon check in so that we could have adjusted our itinerary. Or at the very least been compensated for our loss in enjoying all of the amenities.

We had an amazing stay. The pool areas are lovely and the view is amazing. Our 1 bed apartment was very clean and comfortable, with a huge balcony overlooking the sea. We had a great time. We explored La Pasta and The Market restaurants, both which served very nice food, although quite expensive but to be expected at a 5* hotel. The staff were so nice and helpful throughout the stay. Would definitely
recommend!

This is our favorite hotel in Dubrovnik surroundings. Staff is always friendly, professional and welcoming. Hotel is very clean, beach is wonderful for swimming and relaxing. So many pools. No matter how busy hotel is, you always can find available loungers and beach towels. Spa facility is huge. You don’t need to book service to enjoy saunas or pool.Its very nice place to stroll in evening on the main path surrounded by several restaurants. We tried all of them and several times. In summer we appreciate theme nights. Our favorite is Croatian.We tried seabass baked in salt. Was the best meal of our vacation. Dinner spread is anonymous, can please anyone. Rooms are specious and very comfortable. Bell boys always there to assist you with luggage’s or parking. Thank you Sun gardens for your excellent delivered hospitality.

A complete refit and re style to bring it to what uk guests expect from 5 star location next to the sea and private coves fabulous but their PR photos are not of this property or if they are they were from decades ago when first built. So mis keading. What a shame whoever owns this hotel they need to invest so the staff can be proud and the guests can be wowed As location can only carry a hotel so far. But thank you to the staff who made the holiday

Fantastic hotel with great rooms/ great service and fabulous views. Multiple restaurants and great service by the pool and the beach with cocktails and food. Sport centre is great and we used the tennis courts and pool tables but also two gyms, full Spa , table tennis , boules and many other activities in the sports centre. Location is excellent and quite just a short ride into Dubrovnik. Breakfast is excellent with a wide choice. Highly recommend. Marko on the front desk was a complete star - always smiling, informative and made our stay perfect. 5stars 👏

Hotel is a little secluded which we knew,transportation from hotel shuttle was just a couple of times which is not very convenient especially when paying for the service, uber was cheaper and more convenient. The breakfast was exceptionally good,views, service and quality of food its a pity i couldn't say that about the rest of the hotels restaurants which i felt over priced for what was on offer.

The only downside was with their room setup which there was clear glass separating the bedroom from the bathtub with a shade that can be opened from the bedroom. Also the bathroom doors did not lock

Service was good, but below what I would expect from 5 star rating. Check in progress felt disorganized and plus the process of getting our luggage to the destination room. Also the room is we just ok, mildew in shower. Given the distance to Old Town (25 mins), challenging getting Uber on trip, I had at least 2 drivers cancel before 1 would complete the trip.

Absolutely beautiful 5* hotel, lovely rooms with a sea view, great beach & 2 main family swimming pools (1 for adults only), fantastic Spa with different saunas & steam rooms. Great breakfast with lots of options. The staff were lovely and helpful. It's a small thing but the beds or perhaps pillows didn't provide a comfortable nights sleep for me personally. The cost of eating at the hotel is very expensive (cocktails are reasonable!), with most meals for 3 costing c.100 EUR, we realised a bit late that the poolside meals are a little less expensive. Some of the restaurants won't provide tap water, despite the hotel's commitment to sustainability - it seems a no brainer to offer tap water, especially as Croatian water is one of the best in Europe. Another issue around sustainability is the cost of the shuttle bus provided by the hotel - as a family it's substantially cheaper (and easier) to get a taxi into the town, it's a 25 minute drive so the hotel is a reasonable distance from the town. Overall though we had a lovely time and I would recommend this hotel.

Food was incredible - the themed summer dinners were so fun and had a beautiful view of the ocean - the entertainment was great - lots of places to relax by pool or sea - spa is a treat and you can utilize the wet areas whether you book a service or not - definitely recommend one of the residences especially if you have a car - we enjoyed being able to make eggs in the morning and relax on the patio with coffees - my sister was traveling with us and it was nice to have the living room and dining table to hang out and not feel crowded - amenities and rooms are top!

We stayed at this hotel during our visit to Dubrovnik and loved the hotel. We stayed in the club room which was very nice and the view was absolutely amazing. We had access to the club lounge between the hours of 11am to 11pm which was really handy.

The pool facilities were great there was alot of options to choose from as well as the beach being on the doorstep.

There were good choices of the restaurants. I highly recommend the wellington as that was amazing. The pasta restaurant was not great to be honest I found it bland and very oily. Cilantro was a great restaurant also with plenty of options and all the restaurants had kids meals which was really helpful.

Its a great hotel to stay at with kids. They also offer spa treatments for kids and I have to say I had one of the best facials in my life it was great and highly recommend the deep cleansing facial.

The staff was amazing and really friendly. It was our daughter birthday during our stay and they did everything to make it special for her. My only criticism would be that the hotel should offer late checkout prior, as we had to switch rooms for the late checkout, but they did accommodate us.

The hotel offers loads of events, however we were not able to attend and found it to be a bit pricey considering how much we already spent to stay at the hotel. The cost was only for food and it was not clear what the cuisine was during those events. I feel they could add this information on their app.

Sun Gardens Dubrovnik was an amazing resort. Probably one of the best we have stayed at recently. The hotel staff was exceptional. The resort was very clean inside and outside. We requested pick-up to & from the airport via the resort for an added cost, which was worth it once we landed and did not have to figure out how to get from the airport to the resort. The resort also has shuttle into old city of Dubrovnik for a small fee, 8€ per person but need to schedule ahead of time.

There are several onsite restaurants, a small grocery store, onsite parking available. The resort also offered a kids club and had one of the best fitness centers.

We added the breakfast each day, which absolutely did not disappoint and had one of the best breakfast spreads offered.

The only suggestion I would make, is maybe for resort to post a sign at the top of the Adult pool letting guests know it is the adult pool for 16 yrs & older. A couple families came to the adult pool not realizing it was the adult pool.

Overall, it is a well maintained resort with very friendly hotel staff and would definitely come back again. Thank you for a wonderful first time experience!

Sungardens is an excellent family hotel. The activities for my 7 year old were fantastic with great football (Campioni soccer camp) and tennis. The sports centre is top quality.
Swimming pools and beach are great and we always managed to get a sunbed (even late in the day).
We stayed in a 2 bed residence which is a lovely, spacious room with beautiful sea views. I requested a room which was relatively accessible with a pushchair and they accommodated this, giving us a room which was close to all amenities and didn’t have too many stairs to deal with. They also gave us early check in which was a bonus as we arrived 3 hours before the check in time, but our room was already ready. I really appreciated this as we have young children. I found all the staff very friendly and helpful. Service was excellent overall.
We enjoyed all our meals in the different hotel restaurants, as well as eating in some times as the apartment gave us that flexibility. The onsite grocery store is very convenient although pricey.
We took the hotel speed boat to Dubrovnik which was a really fun way to arrive at this beautiful city.
It was a fantastic stay and we plan to return. Highly recommend the hotel.

This is an excellent hotel, five star quality. The views are spectacular, the private beach and pools are all really nice, good spa facilities, excellent breakfast and food. This is a unique hotel in a spectacular location. The only downside is it's a £20 cab ride into the centre of Dubrovnik but we could cope with that. You can also get a bus, which run every couple of days hours.

The cleaning was not well coordinated. When we came back to the room around lunchtime, the room had not been cleaned or bed made. So we were eating lunch and relaxing when staff arrived. On one occassion, we saw the staff in the corridor and asked them to clean.

Enjoyed the property very much. They have plenty of restaurants for you to enjoy. Access to the Adriatic Sea is part of the property and even though the water is cold this time of the year there were plenty of folks walking in the shallows.
If you have kids their playground is nice and has a phenomenal view for the parents to enjoy. The indoor pool/spa facilities are very nice and clean.

Very much enjoyed the property for the week we were here. The rooms are spacious and clean and having a balcony to sit and enjoy the sunsets. Highly recommend this property.

Sun Gardens was a surprise. We stayed in the residences and got upgraded to a 2 bedroom. There were fireworks at night. We only stayed 1 night as we have to fly out early the next day. I wished we could have stayed longer.
It is early in the season and still cold for the beach and outdoor pools. But we got to enjoy the sauna and indoor pool. Overall, we loved our stay.

We had to make a big deal to get an upgrade. The person at the front desk tried very hard, assuring us that there were no available rooms for the upgrade.

When we spoke with her supervisor, we found out that this was not the case. In addition, speaking with the cleaning personnel, they confirmed that there were plenty of superior rooms available.

It is not fair that this is used to concrete a sale, but then disregarded at the point of check in

This is an amazing property that is a short drive or Uber to the Old Town. Spectacular views of the Adriatic and the islands. Great amenities and restaurants even though it was near the end of their season. My wife and I are travelling for 9 weeks and needed haircuts. We had them cut on the property and were very happy with our cuts and service. The buffet breakfast has a great selection of items and should be able to satisfy everyone's needs and wants. 4 pools in the property, one for adult's only. The staff is the best part of the stay. All were very friendly, polite and attentive. We want to thank all the staff from check in to check out for our great treatment. They all made this a very memorable experience for both of us.

We’ve absolutely enjoyed our stay at Sun Gardens. We stayed in an apartment and it was in an amazing state. Has everything you need and you can always ask reception for any requests like cleaning hours, how often cleaning happens etc.
We stayed here with a 1 year old and we enjoyed the pools, restaurants and transportation options offered. Everything was in a very good state and people were very friendly.

The only downsides of the hotel were the pool temperature outside and inside. For children the indoor pool is a little on the cool side and the outside pool is non heated so if the weather has been bad, it’s way too cold for children to play in the pool. Would be nice if that was heated for the little ones.
The other downside was the grocery store at the hotel. I get that things are more expensive due to the nature of the hotel and the convenience but the prices are inflated too much. If you have an apartment you really can’t do proper grocery shopping without questioning your sanity at the til. I mean 8 euros for a tray of mushroom… really?

But besides that I would say it’s amazing and we enjoyed our stay. Friendly staff, good facilities, great restaurant and amazing accommodation

Great service, well appointed rooms, great beach and swimming areas…. Although it is 10km from the Old Town lots of options for transport to get to the city. Ocean view hotel rooms were worth it.

The view right on the Adriatic is beautiful! The only thing I didn't like is that none of the pools are heated, and the location is about 20 minutes from the Old City.
