The 4-star Claregalway Hotel, renowned as one of Galway's finest, is nestled in the vibrant village of Claregalway, just 15 minutes from Galway City. Its convenient location also provides easy access to Connemara and the Wild Atlantic Way.
The hotel offers stylish and comfortable guest rooms, and is well-equipped for corporate events, boasting versatile meeting and conference facilities suitable for gatherings of all sizes. A credit card and valid photo ID are required upon check-in for pre-authorization.
Full payment will be processed at this time. Cash payments are accepted; however, pre-authorization of a credit card is still necessary.
Bookings of five rooms or more, or stays of five nights or more, require a 50% non-refundable deposit within seven days of booking. For stays during the 2025 Galway Races (July 28th - August 3rd), a 50% non-refundable deposit is also required; the hotel will contact you regarding payment.
A lost-and-found service is available, though the hotel is not responsible for lost or misplaced items. A frequent bus service to Galway city center is accessible just outside the hotel.
Please note: For health and safety reasons, only the registered number of guests is permitted in each room. Children over 13 are charged the adult breakfast rate.

Can't say the same about the evening menu, but I always go in to Galway or Oranmore to eat. Reception staff friendly, lots of parking at the rear.

This hotel SMELLS of mildew and the room smelled of smoke. The dirty carpet and unkept bathroom was enough to almost make us leave if it wasn't for the only night we were there for.
There is a rowdy bar / restaurant downstairs with people drunkenly leaving at all times of the day.
Parking area is behind the hotel and only open entrances were the main door into what looks like a very outdated lobby and overall location.
When we checked out and told the staff of our stay they shrugged it off and said we were only there for one night so why bother...crazy.

We were woken up at about 1:00 am by a fire alarm inside our room. The incident lasted about 3 min but the alarm was extreemly load. The staff politely apologized. Great staff but terrible experience. this is why I an not giving it a 5 star overall rating.

Large family run hotel near a business park in Claregalway (about 20 minutes drive to Galway). Property seems to be undergoing renovations. We had a very large family room for our 3 night stay but found the absence of a fridge strange given obvious recent upgrades to otherwise good standard. The bathroom was also unusual with a heavy fire door and an older shower in bath set up. Carpet in room wasn’t vacuumed during our stay. There is a health club on site (pool/ gym etc) available to guests which is a good inclusion. Parking on site was also good.

The telephone wasn’t working in our room. We requested toiletries / etc. when my husband looked behind the bed. The reason the phone wasn’t working as there were live wires. Not good enough. The facilities didn’t come to our room that day and we left the next day. I hope they fixed the problem with the phone.

There is a hot tub and sauna area that is off limits to anyone under 18. The sign is posted on the wall behind the hot tub beginning with -18. My kids like hot tubs, at other hotels we have been to they can use them and when I asked them to get out they couldn’t understand why. As I was asking them to get out the staff member from the desk came in and made a huge scene about how they can’t be there, I am responsible for them, and they are not insured to be there (I insure my own children when I travel). Even though I let him know that I was asking them to get out he continued yelling at me, it was very embarrassing and completely ruined the whole stay for me. I can understand having a tone like that with someone if you’ve had to ask more than once. I immediately left with my kids.

Room was very nice to start, we were staying two nights. Myself and my young son woke up the following morning and i noticed spots/lumps on my legs and then on my body. I checked my bed and my sons bed and I found bed bugs in both beds.
I immediately reported it to reception and asked for a manager to be told there was none available but the girls on reception would sort it out and ring me later. We had to go to the nearest pharmacy to get antihistamines and ointment.
We were then upgraded to a different room for the second night and given a refund for only one night.

Considering it’s a 4 star hotel I thought the cleanliness and general condition/ upkeep of the hotel was poor. Hairs on the towels in the bathroom. No atmosphere in the reception,there should be background music playing to make it more inviting. Checked it at 9.50pm on the night of arrival and asked if it was possible to get a toasted ham and cheese sandwich and was told the kitchen was closed. My first ever experience staying at a hotel where I couldn’t get food. Disappointed with our stay as it wasn’t cheap.

Stayed for one night. It was a great stay! The only issue was the air conditioning. Wasn’t really working well to cool the room despite being set to the lowest temperature (19 degrees). I told the staff and they were pretty understanding. Provided me with a fan which helped to try and circulate some of the air from the AC, so that helped a bit with the coolness. But other than that, it was great! Super clean and roomy! Would definitely recommend!

Loved this hotel! It was smaller, which made check in and parking super easy. Our hotel room was exceptional, clean and spacious. The bar/restaurant connected was slightly below average. My wife ordered a wine & the wine glass had bright lip stick imprints all over the top of the rim. When we mentioned it to the bartender, he poured the glass in a new (clean) one. The bartender had a difficult time making a mixed drink on their menu and had the attitude that he didn’t want to be there, or didn’t want us there. We had a single drink & avoided ordering any food or anything else.

Everything was so good, lovely pool, friendly and helpful staff in the lobby and spa. However, we were strongly annoyed by a staff named Emily in the restaurant when we ordered cook breakfast. They're all pretty good, and all let down (in my opinion) with very average food. The choice is generally similar, the quality is always reasonable, and much of it is pre-prepared. Nothing wrong with that, but so much could be gained from a little flair in the kitchen. Didn't try breakfast here.

It was just ok..rooms could have been cleaner and there was meant to be a futon type bed for the third child. There was no additional bed in our room on arrival and when they brought us an additional bed it was a camp bed which collapsed when my child sat in it and fell apart. As a result the child slept on the mattress on the floor. Someone from the hotel was to contact me, but no one ever did. Safe to say I wouldn’t be staying here again.
