Beautiful resort, room was really nice with an excellent view of the lake. Really enjoyed the pool area.

The \"shuttle bus\" back and from the town is a 7-person seater car that runs every 20 - 30 minutes during certain hours of the day. The latest being 6:30pm which can be annoying as after this hour you rely on taxi's that charge like a tenner per head, despite a 10-minute drive. It was really frustrating as there's no queuing system in place, so you could be waiting a few trips from the driver to get a seat, people who's been waiting 5 minutes will push and shove people who has been waiting 40 minutes.

Also, my family was staying at the resort due to my father getting married in the next town. We asked the reception if it was possible for them to arrange for a taxi for us at 11:30am the following morning, they said no problem. The next day there was no sign of the taxi, asked the girl behind the counter if she could call the taxi company and see where it was, she did, and we were told it would be 10 minutes due to traffic. More time went on and no sign of the taxi, we asked the girl behind the counter for an update from the taxi company and was just being told \"traffic\" with shrugged shoulders without calling the company. When we tried to explain it was my father's wedding, which he may now be late for, she just looked at us with smiles and a hand in the air. Taxi arrived 45 minutes late.

Resort is far from town, only restaurant on the resort charges €30 per person- no other options. Wait staff unfriendly, waited very long for service, not accommodating. Resort has free shuttle to town but limited hours, asked reception about taxi service was told limited taxi service but once in town could get taxi easily. Setting is beautiful, nice pool but terrible service, not for people with mobility problems. Would not recommend, overpriced. Had to pay extra €5 per person to sit out on the restaurant terrace!

A beautiful resort

A beautiful resort located with a great view (on the lower part of a hill) and not far from many of the main attractions. The rooms are in several buildings around the area so you need to walk up/down hill or use your car (parking places are limited in some areas).

We booked an apartment and ended up a bit to far away from the hotel and with no view at all. So very disappointed. The room was also very old style. Not at all what we was hoping for considering the price.

Great hotel for families with kids.

This is our first time travelling to Garda and I have no idea which hotel to choose. I just randomly chose a hotel, (Poiano Resort), looks great and above average price range. When I arrived I didn't realise the hotel is slightly further from the town centre than I expected.

At first, I thought it would be quite inconvenient. Later in the holiday, I actually glad I picked Poiano because

- Hotel rooms have plenty of space (We booked a double lake view room & an extra bed for our overgrown child). The room can easily fit another two extra beds.
- Nice view sitting at the balcony.
- We hired a car to tour around Garda. Poiano is one of the very few hotels in Garda offered that many parking spaces, no need to worry about parking fine which is quite a problem in Garda.
- Lots of facilities and activities for kids. They have 4 clay courts, 1 five-a-side football pitch, huge swimming pool, table tennis, archery. I never seen a kid is bored, they all get on playing footballs. Great atmosphere.
- Shuttle service is fine. Wait around 10 - 15 mins at most but the trade off is bigger room, quieter and nicer sceneries.

Looking at what other hotels offered in Garda, I will stick with Poiano when I come back next time. The buildings may be slightly outdated to some guests but I think it is very outdated and it is maintained well.

Deceptive adv & billing by hotels.com, so-so hotel

Deceptive billing & advertising.

Advertises breakfast & dinner as included in room rate, but really charges dinner as hidden fee under \"tax recovery charges and service fees,\" lumped in but not broken out with VAT tax. Learned this at checkout after hotels.com ensured us fees were mandatory when booking. Not fair IMO. Would not have booked dinner at 50EUR a night there had I known.

We paid for 4 nights for a dinner we didn't eat and thought we were paying high Italian taxes. Learning experience.

Hotel itself:

Plus:

- on steep hill, good physical exercise (174 steps) from breakfast to room.

- nice soccer field, nice pool.

Minus:

- pool rules: 3 days floaties ok (we bought one for our child), day 4 & 5 not. Disappointing.

- dinner rules. The 1 night we ate their dinner, didn't allow friends to join us (\"we're fully booked\" - a third was empty). Dinner not recommended, better quality & more for same price in town (ca 3km).

- room: no tissues in bathroom, no wash clothes. Room service doesn't come if you leave 2nd key in slot so that electronics can charge.

Overall, seemed a bit regimented.

Nice location, great wiew. Very polite and helpfull staff. Perfect big pool. Nice, clean and big room (junior suite), but are friends ware not satisfied with their dated room (apartment). Big parking places. Resort is big and is all up and down, with many stairs, so it is not good choice for old people or very small kids. Breakfast is good, but always the same, dinner is very bad, pasta is eatable but second dish not so. Bar is opening at 10,00h, so you need to wait for coffee if you like espresso like me. Good tennis courts (12 eur/hour). We didn't see fitness because of the strange opening hours. I'm not sure if animation staf knows meaning of word animation and this is too bad because everything else is perfect for kids.

Amazing place and amazing location

This is amazing place in the middle of the green and view to Garda lake. I took an apartment with hotel services.
The apartment is fully equipped with kitchen, dishes, oven, fridge and microwave.
The apartment has 4 rooms – living room and 3 bad rooms.
The location of the hotel is amazing and the food on the hotel restaurant is delicious.

Very recommended.
The only thing that I didn't like is that the hotel give only two devices internet Wi Fi.

The views are the best thing about this place !! booked a double only to find twin beds pushed together and although we asked them to make up a double nothing was changed. Staff were unhelpful and unfriendly. Breakfast was until 10am but after 9.30am many items had run out and were not replaced. Shuttle bus runs every half hour to town but stops at 7.45pm and taxi's difficult to come by later. Bar in hotel was closed at 11.40 and unable to get a drink. Pool bar was due to close for winter season 30th September so the week before ran out of most ice cream, some spirits (gin), beer and were not prepared to restock from hotel main bar. Disappointing for the cost.

Nice hotel in Garda with view of Lake Garda

This hotel is around 30 minutes from Verona airport, one niggle the SAT NAV doesn't take you to the Hotel itself and the signage is not great.
The room (Junior 2 adults and 2 children 12 & 13) is nice over looking the Olympic pool and in the distance Lake Garda.
The Breakfast is nice, it is more catered for Germans, Dutch than English with cold meats, cheese, pastry fruits, yogurts but the hot food is not hot enough (i am chef i know what I am talking about).
The pool is in the best location over looking the lake, it is massive, plenty of sun loungers with parasols, there is lanes for the swimmers.
Other facilities tennis, table tennis, football, archery, aqua gym, spa and massages.
Free shuttle service to Garda.

Spent 4 nights in 4 different rooms. The air conditioning in our room wasn't working in 39 degree temperatures. Was a lack of communication between staff which didn't help but staff on the front desk were very helpful and we were given different rooms in a very busy hotel. Overall had a lovely time but wouldn't recommend an apartment. Junior suites were lovely

Room had a great view, but broken lawn chair, six inch mattress that needed to be replaced, and a tub that wouldn't drain. Staff friendly enough to move us to another room. It was much better, but was advertised air condition. Staff advised me to open the windows.The air condition wont be available till the summer. Cottonwood flying into our room overnight had our allergies going crazy, and welcoming bugs to boot. We tried to check out of our hotel as scheduled over 50 guest waiting to check in or out and the computers go down. Over an hour wait to get checked out. Two tour busses of soccer players, packed breakfast area, and no free coffee?

Good hotel but a few basics let them down

Beautiful location. Rooms very nice . Most of staff helpful. Bar by pool always running out of food at lunchtime, not at 3.00pm but around 1.00pm. Although complimentary bus into Garda only fits 9 people & most of time down to Lady Luck if you got in, sometimes they ran 2 buses, sometimes they came back for you, sometimes it was hard luck & you had to wait another 1/2 an hour or so.

Great place to relax

This is rather a resort with apartments and a few additional hotel rooms than a hotel. Although a bit dated, the place has a beautiful atmosphere and great staff who are fluent in many languages (English, German, Italian, etc.). The pool is really large, there is a Beach-Volleyball and football field as well as many other opportunities for sports and relaxing. The hotel room was large, bright and had a balcony with stunning views to Lake Garda and the hills. The resort is a bit outside Garda town, but it is only about a ten minute walk to the old town, the shops and the beautiful lakeside restaurants. Overall, a great experience - highly recommendable.

Nice hotel, but it is worthwhile having a car.

Overall, this is a lovely hotel. Set in the hills, it provides lovely views of the lake beyond Garda. The grounds are extensive.
The pool is large (Olympic sized) and 1.4m deep throughout, so ideal for children 11+. It can be a bit tricky to get parasols, but if you get there early (or late) that isn't a big issue. We stayed here last year and were happy to return, but our previous experience with the courtesy bus led us to hire a car at Verona airport and use it for the 11 days we were there. With the car, it is easy to get to Montebaldo for the cable car, Garda for the commuter boats and Gardaland for the theme park. Without it, you can face long waits for the courtesy bus which only takes eight people. At some times of the day that is fine, but in the period before dinner which starts at 7pm, you can face a minimum of an hour's wait.
The rooms are a decent size accommodating my family of four including a tall 15 year old boy and a 11 year old girl fairly comfortably. The restaurant can get busy towards the end of breakfast, so get there early if you can. There are lots of activities at and around the pool including water polo, beach volleyball, archery, football and aqua gym/zumba during the day and an occasional pool party on random evenings. However, if it is karaoke night, you may be better off heading out and not returning until after midnight. Sadly, it wasn't an option available to us on our last night before having to get up early for our flight

We loved the location. The views from the balcony were stunning. Unfortunately, the service let the resort down. As it is located out of town, there is a free shuttle service to Garda in the mornings and evenings every half-an-hour. Only 40 people are able to go to town in the mornings because the car is small, which is very poor for a hotel that can hold up to 1000 people. We needed to wait 20 minutes before the car arrived to ensure we had a seat. We saw families split up because there was not a seat for everyone. A service for the afternoon and late evenings is necessary. We asked a receptionist how to return home if there is no shuttle. She said we need to phone for a taxi ourselves or walk, and we need to book in advance. Not true. They will call a taxi for you and you don’t need to make a reservation first. You can call a taxi from Garda to take you back easily without needing a reservation. Be careful when using the restaurant for lunch because they don't provide a menu. We paid 62 Euros when we only wanted a light lunch because we did not ask the price first. The receptionist staff were not friendly. We told them we were on our honeymoon on two occasions, but no-one acknowledged this. One of the head waiters always had a friendly smile and a cheery wave. The waiting staff were generally courteous. The food was good. This was more suitable for young families. There are a lot of leisure activities. It is not so good if you want to leave the resort.

A great hotel with friendly helpful staff. Located on the hills overlooking the lake. You will need to hire a car to get around the area, but the Hotel does offer a shuttle bus to Garda which helps you explore a bit. The Hotel was very clean and well kept. The facilities were a bit of a let down as the outdoor pool is not heated and the indoor pool can only be used if you purchase a day pass for the Spa which was 15 Euros from memory. The clay Tennis Courts were great too but charging guests 13 Euros per hour to use them I feel is extortionate! The Hotel restaurant menu was very limited and overpriced. For a better choice of food and at a more reasonable price then go to the Pizzeria just outside the Hotel entrance which offers fantastic Pizzas for reasonable prices and also Stafolet is a 5 minute walk away which is one of the best Steak Houses I have ever been too

A beautiful location looking down on the lake.

The hotel is in a beautiful location, the room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The staff were polite and helpful and the facilities were very good. I would recommend the hotel and I would not hesitate to stay there in the future. I would however criticise the restaurant; for breakfast I would have expected a 4* Italian hotel to serve or provide freshly made expresso or cappuccino rather than a press button machine or coffee from a jug on a hob which tasted foul. The food was satisfactory but was not replaced quickly when serving plates were emptied. I waited 10 minutes for a boiled egg, which only took 5 minutes to cook! Having said that the staff were hard working, clearing and relaying tables, in my opinion it was under staffed. We chose not to eat in the restaurant, which seemed rather expensive: to book a meal from a limited set menu, a form had to be completed each morning.

One other thing that didn’t really bother us but could affect others booking, is that, during our stay (end of June), kids’ camp was run on the site and although their accommodation was a good distance from the main part of the hotel, they did use the sports facilities.

We reserved this hotel for our autumn leave break because of: 4-star quality, convenient location and large variety of sports possibilities - as mentioned at the website presentation. Unfortunately, the reality didn't meet them. Room was cold, beds with motel-quality blankets, gym was not open, no tennis rackets available and the hotel is so far from the city that you need a car. I believe this is a nice hotel during the summer when it's warm outside and all the sports venues are open, pool is warm and sports teachers are available for the guests, but I wouldn't go there again to stay longer during out-of-season. The positive things were good breakfast and friendly staff.

The whole family loved it!

We went for a week and loved every second of it. The staff were lovely and so friendly, we will be coming back very soon. The pool and Gazebo was brilliant especially for the kids. We just overall loved it.The food was great and we had buffet evening meal one night which was fabulous. Rooms were large and very clean.

The Hotel is conveniently located close to Garda and is ideal for families with children. Family rooms are spacious with a great view of Garda. It is well organised with daily sport activities for children and adults!! Only downside of Garda is the evening rain during most of our nights (in July).

We enjoyed this place very much. The accomodations were great and the surrowinding were fantastic. It evey had wineyards and weat in the property. I was close to town but away from the noise of it. It was like a retreat. It had all the conforts you may want, olimpic pool and even archery. We loved it.

It was very difficult to find the hotel, especially since we arrived after dark. The room had no view, was large but very simply furnished. The bathroom was very nice and updated. Laminate floors in the corridor with no rug made it noisy. The view from the restaurant was awesome and we would have liked to spend a couple of days by the pool. The breakfast was the best on our trip to Italy this time. Beautifully served and bountiful. The beds were hard, the pillows were hard and very uncomfortable.

Great hotel - just a few suggestions

A fabulous hotel for families. Lots of space. Excellent staff. Could use a TV channel or two in English, wireless internet should be free in this day and age and bins in bathrooms should have a lid. But none of this would prevent me from returning, as I hope to do.

The Hotel, staff and service were fantastic. The complex is well geared-up for many tastes, from families to people just wanting to do there own thing. On the Hotel grounds, there are also self catering apartments. Don't get fooled into believing that the 2km walk takes you into Garda Town! It doesn't, this is the distance to the boundary with Garda. It's a good 40 minute walk into the Town, and this is the only thing we could critisise. Not a problem if you are using a car all the time.

Great and all last minute

My husband and I stayed here at the end of July and loved the place. Really nice location, good access to the lake, friendly staff. If could chnage one thing it would be to bring the hotel closer to the lake for an evening out - walk not a problem for us, but for small children or people less mobile the hill might be daunting and the bus stops running quite early evening - otherwise couldn't fault. Would highly recommend and consider going back

What a great place for couples and for the family The hotel is situated 2k from Garda but there are regular shuttles to the centre. If you hire a car there will be no problems. The facilities are great ranging from a gym, to a 50 m pool, volley ball, tennis courts. the staff entaertain the kids. Garda itself, the lake and the mountains are worthwhile visiting. Breakfast is good but the juices were dilute cordial - probably depends on what fruit season you go I guess. Otherwise there was something for all. Staff were freindly and, spoke English but do appreciate a hello and goodbye in Italian and is usually met with a smile! Definitely go again!

Relaxing Lake Garda

This is a large hotel catering to a wide range of customers. We were well received and the facilities and staff attitude were excellent. It overlooks Garda and the lake providing views of both. O tratamento exceto o rapaz que nós recebeu e terrível, todos mal humorados, má vontade de trabalhar.

Pedi de manhã que viessem ver o porquê a água não estava esquentando na noite anterior estava, liguei 3x para a recepção falaram que iam mandar alguém não mandaram ninguém e nem falaram mais nada.

No café da manhã pedi que deixassem a gema do ovo bem frita, falaram que não podiam virar o ovo na chapa só podiam fazer um lado parece mentira pra um local caro e era pra ser um resort.

Não indico, não sei se o problema é a região porque já estive em Veneza e o tratamento e ruim igual, indico que fiquem em Varese em Milão o tratamento e ótimo.

Hotel immerso nel verde. Panorama stupendo.nelle condizioni di prenotazione non è specificato l' ingresso limitato alla piscina coperta per bambini, in fascia molto ristretta ( soltanto un' ora al giorno e rigidamente applicata) . Per il resto colazione abbondante e varia, camere grandi e pulite.

Dejlig beliggenhed, smukt anlæg, gode faciliteter. Morgenmaden var tilpasset et internationalt publikum. Ikke italiensk, og selvsagt anlagt med stordrift for øje. Den olympiske pool var delvist beslaglagt (2-3 baner) af en svømmetræningslejr. Men ellers lækkert med et bassin der gav mulighed for både leg og at svømme nogle baner. Ret \"let\" vand, sikkert renset med ozon i stedet for klor. Virkelig god svømmeoplevelse. Tennis, paddle tennis og fitness virkede fint, golf så også ud til at gå godt. Pæne værelser med velfungerende aircon. Nogle vil finde stilen lidt bedaget, men absolut inden for skiven. Generelt gode materialer/løsninger. Der hvor hotellet skal se på upgradering er miljøvnelighed, og få sat nogle solceller op til at aflaste generatoren oppe ad bakken. Vandspild kunne man også se på med fordel. Grunden er kuperet, og det kræver ordentligt bentøj at komme rundt. Hvilket egentligt var et godt tilskud i forhold til fitness(!) Vi boede dog også med den højeste beliggenhed. Meget hjælpsomt personale. Også to destinationsladere skal nævnes. Shuttlebus til Garda by fungerer fint. Specielt med den \"glade chauffør\" ved rattet og masser af dytten og \"vai, vai!\". Nok den mest \"autentiske\" del. ;-) Vi havde kun morgenmad, men der var en flere restauranter lige uden for området, så vi led ingen nød.

Schöne große Anlage, aber leider keine 4 Sterne

Personal an der Rezeption freundlich, Sauberkeit auf der Frühstücksterrasse lässt zu wünschen übrig, Spinnweben am Fenster neben den Tischen , gerade nicht sehr appetitlich. Einwegbecher beim Frühstück und bei der Poolbar, nicht gerade umweltfreundlich und für eine 4 Sterne Anlage ein totales no Go . Frühstück sehr eintönig und nicht viel Auswahl . Je 1 Sorte Schinken,Salami und Käse , und das jeden Tag das gleiche.

Liked the aircon in all the rooms and a lot of sun chairs available at the pool.
The breakfast was okay but after a week with the same things to choose from, we needed a bit more change in the menu

Wir waren etwas enttäuscht. Unser Sohn wollte ins Hallenbad gehen, leider ginge das nicht. Kinder dürfen nur zwischen 14 und 15 Uhr ins Hallenbad gehen. Essen war mäßig, Frühstück auch zu wenig Auswahl.

Im Sommer sicher top, aber im Herbst kann es recht kalt werden - und wenn man etwas später am Abend ankommt kann es dauern bis das Zimmer warm wird.

Zimmer bzw. Apartments \"vorheizen\" die für die Nacht gebucht wurden, würde das Wohlbefinden der Gäste sehr steigern, aber ja - ich verstehe den Umweltsaspekt auch... Die \"dicken\" Decken könnten zumindest schon vorbereitet sein :)

Frühstück top, Personal top ... wie gesagt, im Sommer hätte ich wahrscheinlich nichts zu meckern.

Non mi è piaciuto il fatto che non mi hanno fatto usufruire di un pranzo al ristorante (ma solo a me che avevo la mezza pensione, mentre quelli che avevano la pensione completa si) e mi hanno mandato a pranzare al bar sulla piscina.

Ikke pengene værd

Området var stort med mange muligheder, men begrænset. Det var ikke muligt at benytte fitnessrum før efter kl 9 og kun med forud booking. Maden var meget begrænset og til aftensmad kunne vi ikke finde noget vi kunne lide, på det korte menukort. Morgenmaden var kaotisk og man skulle stå i kø længe.
Værelser var noget slidte.
Poolen var stor og fin.

Der er langt ned til byen (ca. 3 km.), men der kører en shuttlebus bestemte tider, (ikke aften eller midt på dagen). Poolen er dejlig stor, men lukker allerede kl 19, hvilket var rigtig trist. Morgenmaden slutter kl 10.00, så du skal ikke være b-menneske.
