Terrible hotel. The water from the taps is yellow, the hotel is old and the rooms and run down. Went for breakfast at 09:20 everything was gone and they were tidying up and ignoring us, not even a coffee was available. Don’t brother the aristo Saigon hotel 1 min away was amazing.

Good location and cheap price, but really noisy

Nice location in quiet district 3 although not main attraction located area, still many lovely and cheap restaurants nearby, also close to war museum and palace. Swimming pool need a fee, that’s weird. Good breakfast with lots of choice including delicious pho and local snacks. Close to airport bus stop with only 1-2mins walk( crossing one road opposite). But one big bad point for this hotel, it is very noisy inside. Hotel pool opened to public and my room is on 5/F , can hear very loud and clear noise from people at pool on 6/F, also noise from nest door. Air conditioner is noisy. My family and I can hardly sleep during our stay. It’s true, very noisy, not just some noise.

Betty on reception could not have been more helpful, checking us in from the comfort of a lounge suite in reception, confirming our onward plans, organizing tours. Older hotel but good for value and location.

Our third visit to this older, traditional Vietnamese hotel and the staff were very friendly and professional, as always. Particular thanks to the lovely lady who manages the Business Centre as she was exceptionally helpful in solving a computer/banking glitch! We’ll definitely base ourselves there again as it is on the direct bus line from the airport and almost halfway between the Colonial monuments/modern city centre and the backpacker area and its nightlife and cheap eateries.

We managed to book a few nights at the Victory when our last booking fell through. Their '24 hour reception' consists of a night manager who literally sleeps behind the reception counter. After putting us in a twin room (when we asked for a double) and us waking him up for a second time, he finally got us our room. It was alright.

The 'free breakfast' is really not worth it.

The pool charges 60,000 dong per visit - which, in spite of being very cheap, is also not worth it.

Bad service, very poorly ran hotel!

Evening check in at Saigon Victory Hotel.
Got Ignorant service upon checking into the hotel. I was very unhappy with this feeling from the get go. Made my stay feel very unwelcome.
Had to pay extra to use the pool and pay extra to use the small gym equipment. Poor taste there as it is already part of the hotel and not ran by a third party.
Room size was as expected.
Ok amenities, with good Dove soap to use for showering.
Buffet Breakfast was filling... but only average compared to another hotels in the area.
Would not recommend this hotel. Very unhappy experience overall. Will NOT be back.

Reception staff not the most helpful. But all other staff friendly and helpful.
Location ok but no convience stores close by.
But it was not a big issues.
Booked 5 tours through the hotel and all were on time and professional in their conduct.
Would highly recommend using the hotel tour booking desk.

I must correct the exaggeration by other travellers about having to pay a lot to use pool. Actually is only 60,000 Dong or $4 US. Pay as you use is good for all travellers. And is not excessive.

Good location, but business focused

Having stayed at a number of hotels in Vietnam during my holiday, this one was the only one that was disappointing. Whilst perfectly well located in close reach of the main tourist sights, the overall welcome was not what we'd come to expect. Everywhere else we stayed was led by friendly, welcoming and helpful staff but here we were made to feel as though our presence was a bit of an inconvenience. Staff were professional but not very friendly or helpful and the hotel seems more geared up to business travellers than sightseers.

Facilities are good but you have to pay to use the swimming pool, which as a guest of the hotel seemed strange to me. Breakfast was widely varied, with something for everyone. Room was large but was damp, and not very comfortable - the mattress was like lying on an ironing board but the showers were excellent and there is a bath as well. Noise from reception carried up loudly to our second storey room and music plays from 6am until 10pm in the corridors - again a bit strange.

There is a spa but we didn't make use or this. There is also a bar but you can't add drinks to your room and there isn't anywhere communal that's comfortable/welcoming to relax with bigger groups.

The hotel guest is mainly local people. But all staffs can speak English. Minimum necessary is satisfied. The room door lock was hard to close. The door opened itself without strong closed. And the hotel housekeeper ignored my \"Don't disturb\" sign. But for me it is acceptable. I think this is what Vietnamese culture.

Over all the location on the edge of District 3 is very good.
There is no coffee or tea in the rooms but there is an electric kettle. Super market near by.
The pool on level 6 is a paid for service not part of the tariff - 60,000VND per use or per day.
The massage service on level 7 is not good and you should expect to be ask for exorbitant tips.
The breakfast service is good.

This hotel was overpriced and cold. Once Management has your money they're under no obligation to do anything else to make your stay more comfortable and they won't. The pool is beyond bad as everyday from open to close its a community pool for local kids to learn to swim and again hotel management wont help. Bright spot? Good breakfast and good location

A comfortable, value, central hotel.

Very comfortable 6 days during the madness of the Tet celebrations. The hotel is older but the room was spacious, cleaned meticulously every day and the staff, from front desk to house maids, were very courteous and helpful. A big bonus was the swimming pool on the roof! The breakfast was a good mix of eastern & western but, as more families arrived, developed into a real scrum particularly as there were not enough tables to cope. Thehotel's position is extremely close to all the museums/ parks/cathedral etc and a few blocks from a large shopping mall. About 30 minutes on foot from the backpacker district so it ticked all the boxes for us.

Hotel rooms are a little outdated. Very odd that the coffee/tea making facilities consist of kettle and nothing else, no coffee, tea or cups. When asked about this apparently this is for VIP rooms only. Avoid the 5th floor as above is a noisy conference area where the movement of the furniture is very loud. If you like hard beds this will suit. Breakfast is good although bacon is cold and coffee ordinary. Pool is good although a little aged and the staff are quite rude. Also AC in our room was barely adequate. That said it is in a good location for access to museums, shopping and food in district 3 and a short taxi ride to district 1.

The hotel did not live up to reviews, there was no coffee in the room and the sheets and bedding was quite old and didn't stay on for the night, not very comfortable at all and would not recommend it unless it's the last room available. So many other hotels in HCMC offering far better service and rooms for a lot less.

Overall an excellent hotel. Great pool but the fitness center could definitely use some updates. I wasn't really planning on using it anyway though. I was a little disappointed with the buffet breakfast choices, but then again I am a picky eater.

Please beware when walking on the sidewalks. Motorbikes will ride up on the sidewalks and my traveling partner had her purse ripped right off of her and it was across her body! This happened during rush hour with many other people around right around the block from this hotel. The room key was in the purse and we were charged $10 since it was lost, which I thought should have maybe been excused given the circumstance.

Victory Hotel - a good choice.

Nice and friendly hotel and staff. Nice breakfast, nice pool. I had a good stay, and it was my third stay at Victory hotel. I am sure that I will come back. Victory Hotel is placed very close to the citycenter, to many sights, to green areas and parks. You can walk to most of it. The hotel is a good choice.

A great hotel which is worthy of a 4 star rating.
the location is close very to the Independence palace & war remnants museum .
The markets & post office is only 15 minutes walk away.
A trip to the Cu Chi tunnels is a must see.
Eating out can be so cheap & a 450 mil bottle of beer @ AUS$1.25 !!!!!!!
Pedestrian crossings don't mean much in this part of the world,as trying to cross on one is a bit hairy
The motor bike riders( they number in the millions) don't take too much notice of road rules.Riding on the footpath or against the traffic is all part of their way of life.
Car & bus drivers are not as bad but still crazy.
It's quite an experience

Room a good size but with very hard beds and both rooms we had had lots of small ants in bathroom and bedroom which got into suitcases etc. Swimming pool crowded with local children having swimming lessons and pool dirty so not a good facility. Very little choice for 'Western' breakfasts in hotel which seemed to consist of toast, various kinds of bread/cakes and juice. Asian options seemed to be more like 3/4 course main meals. Very few restaurants around. Staff not very helpful and just got the impression that Westerns were not catered for or really made to feel welcome.Would not recommend this hotel and would suggest hotels in District 1 would be the better option.
Traffic very heavy all day/night and pavements ridden on by motorbikes/scooters and cars, so very difficult to walk safely, traffic just had to be dodged when crossing roads as the only road rule seems to be no rules. Red lights zebra crossings etc make no difference as they were just ignored.

a) Local hotel without beverage in room, hard bed and never replenish tissue box
b) Hotel management will NOT allow guest to borrow laundry iron at all! Why? Out dated hotel management system
c) Hotel located far from town centre and brochure map showing it close to Nitee Dame is totally misleading. Please don't be fooled and Expedia should correct this misinformation ASAP.

Beds were rock hard so could not sleep, smoking in the corridor was permitted so our \"non-smoking\" room stunk of smoke (we thought there was a fire), horrible food for breakfast (couldn't find anything at all we wanted to eat), no hot water, awful place, do not recommend.

fair price, convenient location

I chose this hotel for the pool, which is larger than your average pool for hotels of this sort. It is on the top floor, and is covered. Problematic was the sheer number of swimmers taking part in lessons - all the time. They were crisscrossing the pool, so no matter where you focused, there was always someone to look out for or, more to the point, not looking out for you. The shallow end was always occupied - important for my young daughter, but not so, if you are simply floating by artificial means. They were mostly adult learners, bedecked with floaties, and one or two coaches (in wet suits! and one with a floppy straw hat, how trendy!) casually shouting instructions to their many students, one at a time.

I found another hotel (Huoung Sen, on Dong Khoi), more centrally located and at the same cost, with a smaller pool. However, we had it mostly to ourselves.

Good value but needs some work

Overall, quite acceptable, but the place is old and could use some updating and maintenance. Beds were a bit hard, but that is not unusual in Vietnam. The shower drain was was slow so the floor and floor mat was always wet after the shower. The AC did not work well, which was a shame since it gets very hot in HCMC. The pool was sub-par, especially since they apparently allow some local swim classes to use it in the afternoon, so we didn't feel like we really had full access. The wifi never worked effectively in the room despite asking them to check on it several times. Wifi at the rooftop pool and in the lobby was adequate. The best part of our stay was the free breakfast buffet. Great selections and tasty. The staff were friendly. It appears that this hotel is run by the military, so the male staff where uniforms. At least we felt that we were safe and it made us worry less about theft etc.

Hotel will try to hold onto your passport as seems to be customary throughout Vietnam... You can say no. Very good location. Close to war remnants museum in particular. Swimming pool is a nice feature since Ho Chi Minh can get sweaty. There were swimming lessons going on but this didn't bother me. Breakfast had an egg station and Pho station so that's neat. Good Wifi for what its worth.

Nice hotel, location isnt great, friendly staff and adequate facilities. wasn't happy when i was told off by a security guard for laying down when i was sick but besides that no hassles, worth the price.

Victory hotel

The sunbeds are completely broken and are cery unconfirtable, these need to be replaced with covers to make them softer!
Breskfast needs to be extended till 10pm
Rooms were very nice a spacious and was very pleased to have a bath tub!
The gentleman behind reception was very helpful and spoke great english
