This hotel is in a very convenient location to many things including the War Remnants Museum, Central Post Office, Ben Thanh Market and more. The hotel has a nice \"zen\" vibe to it.The buffet breakfast was great. I just wished we didn't have to pull the one keycard out each time we left (which controls the electronics including the AC) and therefore coming back to a non-AC room.

But only on certain drinks ... that were \"not available \" for 3 days. Rooms much more compact than what appears on the images & \"pool\" can fit family of 5 as long as they don't move.... beds are clean and comfy

The old shower inside a massive bath tub made accessibility real awkward and water constantly splashed all over the floors making it slippery as ice.
I slipped on more that one occasion narrowly missed a serious arm injury. Hate to think how elderly visits handle bathroom obstacle course.

We booked a windowless room since we were only staying 2 nights and the room rate was great. Staff were friendly and the free breakfast was good. The only negative was the bed we had which was VERY firm. Felt like sleeping on a wooden box with a thin mattress pad. Didn’t get much sleep and when we wanted to rest after breakfast, there was construction going on. Sounded like it was on the other side of the room wall. Drilling, hammering, very noisy and disruptive. Odd to be doing such heavy work on a Saturday morning. Overall, not a terrible experience. Pool was great but small, with shaded areas.

A MUST visit

We absolutely loved the Cochin zen! We were only going to stay for one night but extended it for four. The staff went above and beyond for us including surprising me with a birthday cake when I never even told them it was my birthday! Our phones hardly worked while there so they were more than happy to help us make dinner reservations. The room was also stunning. We did the Cochin signature and everything about it was gorgeous. From the large walk in shower, to the king sized bed and the bathtub on the balcony. We will absolutely stay here again!!!

Good location and friendly staffs. The bath tub shower in room 402 build too high from the ground and unsafe to get out with a slipping wet floor. We also have replaced the card keys 3 times due to the mechanical issues with the door lock.

One of the worst experiences ever.

The hotel was not up to the standard, I was sold a faulty product and I even tried to check out early. There was a sound issue with the air conditioner (the Hotel knew about it) which was not reported before the check-in, consequently forced us to move to 2 different rooms. The room was not clean and it was very dusty. Sound travels easily between the walls. Manager refused to refund for early check-out and refused to meet me in person to resolve this issue.There were other smaller issues but overall, not an enjoyable experience. I will not be staying here again.

I highly not recommend this hotel with basic room option. A room is tiny and its bathtub draining was terrible. I spoke with the Manager for that issue which I was happy for their quick responsive.

The location is great, which surrounded by so many Saigon attractions. However, the parking regulation is annoyed and they do not announced that in advanced. I do think they could do better with restaurant/dinning services.

We stayed 3 nights early feb 2020. The hotel is in a brilliant position. Ben Thanh market is about 250 m down the street but Ben Thanh Food Market is only about 150 m down the street from the hotel. There are all sorts of food available there from Asian to Western to suit every taste. The beer is very cheap here too. All the trips will pick up from here too. Great for walking to the War Remnants Museum and Independence Palace
Our room was on the 11th floor right under the pool which meant it was very noisy when the pool jets were running which seemed to be from 0700 to 2300 hrs. Nice room though with good amenities. Although we had a window in the room, extra charge, it was pointless as it was about 5 foot up the wall above the bed with a view of the air con units if you stood on the bed, the window was about 2 foot square.
All that said would stay here again but would be sure to get a quiet room

From the very beginning the staff was attentive, customer caring and effective. Nice and clean room with a daily free minibar Excellent and tasty breakfast! There is a buffet and a la card breakfast.An Italian espresso and a caputchino as well are included. The pool on the roof has excellent view and you may enjoy it during the Happy Hour. The staff serving the breakfast, restaurant and the pool area is fantastic. They approaching the customers very attentive and professional They remembered every customers choice of drinks or meals and the next day they were asking the customer whether they would like the same choice
Such a service you can find only at the most exclusive world resorts. I would like to mention more of the staff members names like Jessica, Anna, Antony and more others.

We loved the decor! Very clean, spacious bathroom, free mini bar sodas and beer. The staff was very helpful in everything but especially getting tickets at the last minute for the puppet theater (great seats!). The breakfast was ok unless you want Asian food. The gym was just ok - dirty towels on the floor when it opened and minimal equipment. We didn't use the rooftop hot tub but it looked nice.
Great location right near the Ben Thành market, Independence Palace, the puppet theater and coffee places.

THIS HOTEL IS OUTSTANDING

Selected a room without windows and loved the quietness. Plenty of lighting in bath and over the bed. The room had everything including premium sheets and pillows, clothesline, iron, ironing board, umbrella, quiet temperature controlled AC. The beer and soft drinks in the fridge were free, and they had a free beer (no free sodas) and appetizers from 3-5 around the rooftop pool. Great breakfast with western, Japanese and Asian selections. I loved the Pho each morning. The best part about this hotel is the outstanding staff. David, the Customer Relations Manager greeted me when I checked in and remembered my name with a Zin Chao daily making sure I was happy with my stay.
Anna (NGAN) is the restaurant supervisor and made sure everything was perfect. I enjoyed talking with her and learning more about Viet Nam. Demi was always pleasant and helpful with breakfast. The people that built and run this hotel are experts in their profession. It is an easy walk to the major attractions with a lot of good restaurants close. I already miss all the friendly staff at the Alagon Zen hotel.

Location was great, walking distance to many major attractions in central city, and staff members are professional. As far as accommodations are concerned, I have a room with a window looking out into an alley, and as previous guests have mentioned the bed room and bathroom were quite dark. I actually liked the lighting level in me bedroom, it felt more cozy. The bathroom was definitely too dark, there was no lighting near the toilet.
Breakfast was decent and service was good. Rooftop bar has three whirlpools, No Pool! The water temperature was too low for my liking. There are three spa/massage places next to the hotel. I tried one and it was decent.
Overall, it was a good stay for me.

The Alagon Zen hotel is located in District 1 near the Ben Than markets and street food markets, making it ideal for exploring the city. The property was clean and the rooftop pool and bar area was lovely, albeit a tad on the small side. The beds at the hotel were uncomfortable and hard, even with an additional topper that was put on at our request. Overall the hotel was suitable for our holiday.

A Pleasant surprise

Havng never been to Ho chi Minh before my family and I were really not sure what to expect.
The hotel was great.The service from the staff exceptional and they did everything they could to make our stay memorable.
Only 2 issues is the gym and pool are a lot smaller than the pictures show.
The pool is almost a large Jacuzzi as opposed to a pool.
Overall our stay was great.

Really enjoy my stay at this hotel. It smells nice, clean, spacious. Good wifi, excellent breakfast, beautiful rooftop which also offer free drinks during happy hours. Convenient location in a lively but safe neighborhood.

Staff were attentive and helpful. Max, frontdesk receptionist whom checked us in. He was friendly and informative. Max went above and beyond to make sure I’m happy and satisfy my entire stay, he also made great nightlife and food recommendations.

Good location in District 1,central to all the points that wanted to visit. The hotel itself was very clean and tidy and the facilities provided such as the gym, sauna, showers on the roof are good. Rooms came with free mini bar service, beers and soft drinks which was a welcome addition. Originally booked a regular room, but upon seeing it found it to be quite dark even though it has a window. For the price of upgrade worth getting one of the more deluxe room (which we did and switched to) and this was much better. Upon checking in we were told that the free afternoon tea was now switched to free happy hour between the hours of five to seven oclock on the roof top which suited us, this didn't actually turn out to be quite true and to manage expectations of others free happy hour translates to one free beer, one free wine or one free soft drink.

We stayed 2 nights in one of the basic double rooms and it was really nice. Clean, comfortable, and plenty of space. The staff was extremely welcoming and helpful, giving us restaurant recommendations and helping us book tours. The hotel is also in a great location and walking distance from quite a few restaurants and the market. We had breakfast included with our stay and it was good. They had a buffett and also cook to order options as well. The roof top pool and jacuzzis were a great bonus! We would definitely stay here again in the future.

It’s a very nice hotel and I been staying here whenever I am in hcmc. However, the customer service fail the hotel!
Firstly the front desk manager Ms.Chloe Nguyen Thi Thu Anh had a very rude attitude. To make it short, she mention the hotel is been clean for us to check in and we are to throw away the rubbish in the bin when we check out. It’s kind of ridiculous and when during our conversation half way, she just walk away to make phone call without solving the issue.

Next, the receptionist Nguyen Dang Buu Uyen told me the hotel do not issue receipt as I book through Expedia and receipt should be issue by Expedia. Don’t hotel issue receipt too as the money goes to them?

Good hotel but with this type of management and staff knowledge keep Long term customer away

I'm not one to to write reviews, but I have to say that you will not be disappointed with this hotel. My family and I traveled through Vietnam for 20 days and Alagon Zen was our last stop. Value for money, hands down this place is fantastic. Great breakfast, and an afternoon tea thrown in if your wanting a snack in the afternoon, very clean and comfortable rooms, the pool area is a perfect size for the hotel and the view is amazing at night. The hotel is very close to markets and Street food market which we loved and the staff were very helpful. I would stay at this hotel again.

This was the second time I have been staying in this hotel and both time have been awesome. The guy who’s name Ali is very nice, friendly and he remembers me from last time. The reception and those people who working there is very nice and friendly also. Some remember me also. Can’t remember all name :). But they are very service minded and helpful.

Rooftop bar the girl who called Nhi do very good drinks, very friendly, kind and gave me a lot of tips. She a funny girl to talk with. I did have a great stay during the time in Ho Chi Minh city.

The most helpful staff I've ever met in a hotel

I just had to write to thank the staff of the Alagon Zen Hotel and Spa for a wonderful stay, and for the help I received during my stay. The team, and especially Chloe, the Duty Manager, went above and beyond what I expect from a hotel.

While in out and about enjoying HCMC, my phone was stolen. For insurance purposes, I needed to report the theft to the police so I went to the reception in the hotel to simply ask for directions to the police station and I was blown away by the help and support I received.

The duty manager offered to come with me and assist me at the police station, translating where required. The two of us went to the station, and I realised that I wouldn’t have been able to navigate the police interaction without help.

When I had to go back to the station the next day to collect the statement, she insisted that she’d pick it up on the way to work. So when I went down for breakfast the next day, the police statement was there for me ready to be collected.

In other aspects of the hotel, the roof top pool and bar also made the stay exceptional. Gorgeous cocktails with a stunning view of the Saigon skyline. The breakfast was gorgeous with a wide array of options.

Family oriented Zen-alike hotel

A nice new and clean hotel with a Zen-a-like ambiance. The mini-bar is free and tops up everyday. There is a sauna and Jacuzzi facility at the rooftop. The breakfast is buffet-style and set meal (choice of 3). The hotel is catered for family (you get what i mean) with strict regulations. The Ben Thant market and night market is just 1 block away. Overall, a nice 4-star hotel right near the CBD area of HCMC.

One of the best that I’ve stayed, room is clean and everything work well. TV channels options is good. Pool is small but relaxing . Hotel location is near to BT market and some tourist attractions. Staffs in reception and housekeeping is good and courteous. Breakfast is good and complimentary hi-tea is highly recommended. Will surely return on my next visit to HCM.
