Clean, well maintained, lush green resort, perfect for 1 or 2 day getaway from Saigon (only 30 min by taxi from D1). Spacious, very well decorated room.
Pool is smaller than expected, but the area is very relaxing, full of natural shades.
The only downside are exorbitant prices at the restaurant, even for such resort, I feel it is way overpriced.
Check out is very strict and the staff knocks on your door at 12.10, after settling the bill they still ask for your room number at the gate to make sure you paid everything and even knock on the taxi door to prevent from \"escaping\". Not very relaxed ending.

The resort is on average, clean but some part needed a little bit of restayling. Prices for services very expensive. the most issue for my side is the location outside the city about 1 hour from the center and 2.5 from Mekong. Staff polite.

The property is situated amidst lush foliage, a botanical garden of trees & plants with wooden boardwalks, fencing, & buildings. Offers a quiet & refreshing 'close-to-nature' vibe -- a genuine retreat from the urban bustle (you don't hear any of the noisy street traffic just a few short blocks away). Very shady, with pockets of sunlight, so the boardwalk are slippery at times. Private pool at villa was cool yet refreshing. We were stunned by the opulent beauty of the lounge/bar, and delighted by its selection of creative and tasty cocktails. Breakfast buffet was outstanding (especially enjoyed the Eggs Benedict on croissant); freshly squeezed fruit juices; everything we ate there was delicious. Enjoyed several sponsored activities: Vietnamese language, gift-wrapping, coffee-making, & cooking classes. Chef was incredibly warm and friendly, offering a guided tour of the sizable organic herb garden on premises. Our personal butler, Nhu, was attentive to our needs and responsive to all our requests, providing a highly personalized yet professional service. The river shuttle is the best (& most enjoyable) way to travel to/from the city center (District 1), but it runs only 4x/day. We usually took a Grab car, which was convenient but more time-consuming. If you visit during monsoon season, be prepared for some temporary flooding on nearby streets and alleyways approaching the property. Very memorable experience.

Our first time here as a family and loved it. We had late midnight checkin, we took a taxi onto the property, and the travel to the hotel was an experience in itself. The road to the hotel is under developed to the point where even the taxi driver was unsure if this was the right location, but do not let that deter you as upon making the approach you’re met with a grand entrance and a very friendly staff. All staff seemed to be well trained and professional, they all say hi and accommodating. Our cute butler Nhi made our experience even a memorable one.

An absolute delight staying here. The 2 bedroom villa was very spacious for me and my family, the private pool was lovely to be able to jump in and out as we please. The food was lovely and the spa also beautiful. While this place is more expensive that other places in Vietnam, the remote setting was a peaceful and relaxing way to end our holiday

I recently stayed at this resort and was looking forward to a relaxing experience, especially since we had booked a room with a private swimming pool. However, our stay was disrupted when we encountered a snake near the pool, which forced us to stay inside for safety. While I understand that nature can be unpredictable, I expected better maintenance and preventive measures at a resort of this caliber.

What made the experience even more disappointing was the lack of response from the management. When I reached out regarding the issue, they initially acknowledged my concern and even asked how much compensation I was expecting. However, after that, they completely ignored my follow-ups and never provided a resolution.

A resort’s service is not just about the amenities but also how they handle guest concerns, and unfortunately, An Lam fell short in this regard. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for a hassle-free and well-managed stay.

The food is over priced for what it is. Had fish and chips where the batter was soggy along with the chips. Then had the melting chocolate pudding which was over cooked as was the garlic bread. You know even the staff know it’s bad when they fail to ask you how the food is.

Not worth the money

When I book I did said have a 4 years old,I payed online,when arrived at hotel,they ask for extra cost for the kid bed.
Book a pool Villa end up with a apartment pool ,not a villa ,with stair all around the pool not kid friendly.
Have to argue for get a pool Villa.
My wife get food poison and stay in bed for the most of it.
And for finishing one pair of sunglasses diseapered in the room the time we been to restaurant inside the resort.
Honestly not worth the money at all.

My partner and I spent 2 wonderful days at An Lam after returning to HCMC after a 3 day cycling trip through the Mekong Delta. We arrived hot, dusty and a bit sore, but An Lam eased all of this. What a beautiful, peaceful, amazing place! From the moment of arrival, when our personal \"butler\" Le welcomed us directly to our room and did our check-in procedure there while we rested comfortably, from the time we reluctantly left after Le arranged our taxi to the airport, we relaxed in the luxurious surroundings. The personal plunge pool immediately outside the door to our room helped us stay cool and comfortable, the pillowy bed helped us sleep soundly, and the restaurant amply satisfied us. I hope to be back at An Lam some day, preferably soon.

A misunderstanding in booking transfer left us waiting at the airport. Needless to say we were quite angry both with our selves and the staff we had chatted with.

BUT after getting hold of the hotel hotline we decided to take a taxi to the hotel and management and staff provided top service the rest of our stay. One really nice detail was that our butler gave us a phone so we could him directly when we ventured into town with the very nice free speedboat citytransfer the hotel regularly provided during the day.

The hotel has a very nice garden and is located on a quiet part of the river in the city. From our riverside pool villa we could ofcourse heat the boat traffic when they passed closed by, but we never lost a minute sleep on that account:) We talked about how funny it was that when trucks are replaced by riverbarges then suddenly heavy commercial traffic becomes an attraction in it self.

An Lam is a very special place. We arrived late at night/early in the morning, and our butler was waiting for us by the gate. When we walked onto the property, we could tell that An Lam was a very special and unique place. Our rooms faced a pool, the restaurant and the Saigon river. We dropped our bags, and took a swim in a lovely, intimate pool that had bouganvillia draping over it, waterfalls, and lovely stately palm trees.

Our rooms were very spacious, well appointed, very clean and just lovely. Our butler went above and beyond for us: he answered our every need - even those we didn’t think of on our own. He arranged taxis, water taxis, and a back of the bike tour. He also provided a cell phone to us so that we could call him anytime.

We stayed for 3 nights before moving o to Phu Quoc. This was our first visit to Vietnam, and we look forward to many, many more during which we plan to return to An Lam.

Good, but would not stay again

The hotel facilities are excellent with beautiful spa, swimming pool, and beach. Staff is really friendly, and the spa service is great.

However, to enjoy this hotel you have to have a great deal of patience. The lunch and dinner service is slow, with at best a 50 minute waiting time to order and receive food. When the waiter doesn't understand something you're ordering, you'll get a friendly nod and never see your order. Room cleaning is limited to making your bed and refreshing towels. The \"Do not disturb\" sign gets ignored. American coffee is never readily available, taking over 30 minute to get a cup during daytime (the alternative, Vietnamese coffee, is too sweet for us). Regardless of time of the morning, the breakfast is a frustrating experience with no availability of clean tables, cutlery, glasses, cups, or coffee. The feeling of scarcity is present each day, and causes some people to truly misbehave (stealing tables, cutting queues, etc...).

Overall, we dealt with it well and focused on enjoying the facilities and its great weather. It's a beach holiday, so no worries. I wish this hotel would invest few 100 USD in more glasses, cutlery, and a coffee machine.

A boat ride to district 1 was a good way of seeing a different side of Ho Chi Minh City.We had our own butler which was fantastic as he organised lots of things for us. The staff we great. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at An Lam Resort. Everything was just perfect from the food to the staff to our personal butler. Our room (we had a suite) was spacious with a huge bathroom and a super comfy bed. There were lots of mozzies around but there was plenty of fly spray and insect repellent provided and the bed was fully surrounded by an ample mosquito net so they weren’t a problem at all. The free speed boat shuttle to the city was also great as it is a fair way out of the city by car. No hesitation in recommending this hotel

We had a wonderful stay here, staff were excellent, food was amazing, room was gorgeous, spacious, high quality all-round. Although the location was out of town, the free shuttle speedboat was a fun experience and the staff organised taxis including giving us a phone to make sure we got back OK.

Our butler was great. We weren't used to this so probably under used her, but whenever we stepped out of our garden she would walk with us to check if we needed anything. The staff made us feel welcome and they were happy to help us with whatever we needed,

Retreat resort in busy HCMC

Two couples stayed for 3 nights during a trip to HCMC. We ventured into the city a few times, but appreciated the retreat and resort feel of the hotel. The staff was outstanding and made sure we wanted for nothing. Our butler, Ms Huyen, met us at arrival and checked us into our room while we were seated comfortably in our suite after a 20 hour flight. We arrived at 3 in the morning, but the staff was prepared for us and met us at the property gate. Ms Huyen arranged sandwiches upon our arrival. We booked a two bed/two bath suite with private plunging pool that sat right on the Saigon river. The space was pleasing and well maintained. We enjoyed the views and several vantage points. We enjoyed the meals (probably 6 in total). The table service was good. The staff spoke English (much better than we spoke Vietnamese).

We were concerned about the distance from the city center at the outset. Could not have been happier with our decision and with the stay.

Kudos to Ms Huyen and the entire staff. Looking forward to visiting the property on the next visit and checking out their other property in the north.

We stayed here 2 years ago and loved it, so we were looking forward to returning. However we were very disappointed- the hotel is run down and now faces a construction site so the tranquility we loved before has gone. The pools were freezing and we couldn't go in. But the worst part of the stay was the food- dinner was so terrible we hardly ate anything. Nothing was fresh and we all got sick after. We decided to leave early as we couldn't have another meal there. All in all it was very disappointing and we will never go back.

Personalized service and dream location

From the moment you get in, your personal butler makes you feel special with so much attention. Beautiful lush gardens, river view, quiet, lovely restaurant by the river. The most delicious fresh tropical juices I've had in my life! The waiters are really nice and know exactly your preferences. Access to HCMC is very easy via boat or taxi. This is a true 5 star service and so worth it. Thank you Viêt and the team

1. No privacy in the bathroom on the ground floor, no curtain
2. No lock at the main gate at our pool villa, no security
3. Not too many choices of food at the restaurant
4. too many trees in the garden, cannot enjoy the sunbath

A peaceful retreat from the heat and hectnicness of the city. Against the backdrop of the sleepy Saigon River, the beautiful landscaped grounds that add to the serenity and calm ambience of the hotel. The staff go out of their way to welcome you and ensure your stay is comfortable and luxurious. It doesn't compare to any other hotel in Ho Chi Minh. Only downside is the mattresses were a little too soft for my liking - but that's really scraping the barrel.

Great riverside escape from the busy city

This hotel is great if you'd prefer to stay out of the city and experience more of the saigon river. Initially we wondered if we'd made a mistake booking a hotel so far out of the city, but the complimentary speedboat made it very easy to get into the city and gave us a chance to see a lot more of the river than we would have otherwise. We had the riverside room with a plunge pool. It was lovely and tranquil and the pool was very cold (nice if you can't stand the heat). We had a butler who was amazing, he made helpful suggestions about what we could do each day, organised restaurants, taxis and so on.

Wonderful charming hotel

Charming hotel wonderful view on the river, good food, perfect service.
The only problem is that it is a little bit far from Ho Chi Minh centre.
In any case I warmly suggest to spend some time there and enjoy quiet and ambiance

Beauty of the riverside

This is a small riverside hotel for those who want to relax away from the buzz of Ho Chi Minh city centre. Suites are large (we had a family suite) and beautifully decorated. The hotel has a nice restaurant with excellent breakfast, and a pleasant all day menu afterwards. There is a small swimming pool (several suites also have their own plunge pool), a deck with loungers by the river, the possibility to have massages (quite expensive), and a complimentary boat transfer to the city centre of Ho Chi Minh three times a day (need to reserve), which was lovely. The views of the river from the common areas are magnificent and staff extremely pleasant with full butler service. It all feels very personable. We would certainly return.

A lovely and cozy hotel for relaxing getaway

The hotel situated in a remote area which is around 20 minutes away from downtown by boat or taxi. The overall environment is cozy and suitable for getaway if you are looking for a relaxing trip. Staff are very friendly and helpful and food is good.
The hotel is small so the pool is not big, there is only one restaurant but they offer both Vietnamese and western food. Overall I think this hotel is a value for money choice.

Just perfect!

Amazing hotel and lovely attentive staff. We had our own butler, Tuan, who were incredible helpful and friendly. Really lovely location away from the city. Access to the city is by a free speedboat! Just perfect!

Remote and Noisy

The hotel is next to the river approx 50 minutes from downtown by taxi

The hotel supplies a boat service to a location 10-15 mins from the city by taxi the total trip is however 40 mins and the boat only travels a few times per day -not at night. The hotel is noisy boats along the river all night - not constant but load and regular making it difficult to sleep.

Rooms are huge. There was no reading lamp at the desk and inadequate lighting. The hotel had a nice large bathtub which could only be filled 20-25% before the hot water ran out!

Not good value for money and nothing to see near the hotel

Dream!!!

We spent a wonderful weekend at An Lam and would go back in a heartbeat! Great resort, great staff and super relaxing environment. The perfect place to wind down and escape the busy city life!

Just superb.

It's such a wonderful lap of luxury to stay here and the 20 minute speedboat trip into the city makes it easy to duck in and out from the chaos of Ho Chi Minh city. Just don't expect to find much outside the resort's front gate.

An Lam weekend

Can't wait to come back. As good as the Park Hyatt if not better. Get away from the noise and dust of the city but still be close enough for business meetings. A true gem.

This resort is absolutely gorgeous and the service is impeccable the staff are very professional and warm, always one step ahead of you, in order to accomodate. One down side was that the wifi internet was quite slow other than that amazing!!!! Breakfast was amazing, non buffet style. Will definitely go again.

beautiful lush retreat away from the city

Amazing beautiful rooms and lush tropical surroundings on the river. Staff fantastic and food absolutely amazing. We had a hot stone massage there and it was the best I've had!Private plunge pool room (PENT HOUSE) got plenty of sun on the terrace and the boat service to the center was efficient and a nice start and end to a trip out. The breakfast was A M A ZING! However we found it very hard to sleep in at this hotel, lots of noisy birds (possibly from river location) and a man selling something with a tannoy on the back of his bike from 6.30am meant we often woke up early. With hindsight not the best location for experiencing the city life, but a great retreat away from it all if you've had enough of the bustle.

An Amazing Place!

An amazing 5-day stay. Perfect accommodation, perfect service, perfect food...what more can I say? Our butler was very attentive, and she was just there whenever you needed something. The style and the mood of An Lam is just romantic and soft. The residence itself is perfect but you have to be aware that there is absolutely nothing in the area. If you don't take the complementary speedboat to and from District 1, it is quite a hassle getting taxis. Taxi drivers are not very honest either. The one time we took a taxi home after a show at night. I handed the driver a VND500,000 note, he swapped it very quickly and insisted that I only gave him VND20,000! I have one small suggestion for An Lam. They literally provided everything but if they could provide a simple mobile phone for guests to use when they leave the residence, that would be extremely helpful for foreigners like me. Most locals in Saigon don't speak English and it's very difficult to find your way back to the residence. Otherwise, everything else is just right. They even send a car for pickup and drop off at the airport and provided us a spa room so that we can take showers on our last day because we had an evening flight.
