Amazing one week stay in December 2025. All staff were welcoming and so willing to help with any request.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom pool villa and the amenities were clean and well maintained. Was happily surprised to find Australian power outlets.

There is a super market just across the road and lots of restaurants close by if wanting to venture out and about.

All staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and easy. Nothing was too much to ask for. From the moment we checked in, Marvella who greeted us, we were welcomed with Balinese fine hospitality and her service was exceptional. Food presentation 5star and delicious, especially fluffy pancakes of a morning! Cynthia and team brilliant at service.
Our massages with Rusma & Devi memorable and great at their art. Meeting Dewa was very informative and a bonus!

The service by the staff was excellent. They also offered a free drop-off only shuttle to nearby places.

The condition of the villa was a bit dated. There were some paint chips and it could use some updating or renovations.
The kitchens were also very tiny and didn’t have much facilities.

Overall it was good, but for the high price, we were expecting something better

Nice place to stay for a short time, we stayed for 3 nights.
Things we liked:
- Atmosphere, beautifully landscaped and kept clean
- Breakfast service in your villa
- Mosquito net around the bed
- Steam Shower
- Having your own pool

Things we didn’t like:
- Shower/bath and bathroom sinks were outdoor
(We didn’t use the outdoor sinks as there were too many mosquitos)
- Too many leaves dropping from the frangipani tree into the pool and around the villa
- Cracked glass above the “shelter” so when it was raining it was still coming through
- Lots of ants around the pool

We also received welcome massages which was lovely, wish we were able to fit in longer massages but didn’t have the time. Finally the staff were all so lovely and accommodating, value for what we paid was expected and met our expectations.

We loved our stay at the Amala. The villas were lovely and all staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the yoga and healing sessions with Dewa. And the sound bath, and massages were also excellent. The Amala was super peaceful and relaxing, and the bars and restaurants are just a few minutes walk from the hotel. We felt very safe. We will definitely stay there again.

The hotel staffs are all very nice and kind. At first we booked Spa villa, but we were not happy with the villa. The pool is too small and the villa looks old and not well maintained. After we contacted the staffs about this matter, they quickly help us to resolve this matter by assisting us upgrade into pool villa. Pool Villa is definitely alot better and well maintained than spa villa.However the food overall is 5/10. Nasi goreng and mihun goreng are both good. In-room service bbq food overall was 5/10 too. Seafoods are not fresh. The best thing is that all the staffs are very professional and willing to help you out anytime :)

Ok at a good price

Location was ok, we walked a bit but also used grab. When I first entered it was probably the only place in Bali where there wasn’t someone sweeping leaves, so appeared a little untidy- especially considering multiple staff with brooms & buckets walked by.
Pool villa looked lovely. Outside furniture wasn’t the most comfortable for relaxing on. No cushions on sun beds, just the plastic.
Breakfast sounds great but the juices were very watered down, food was fine.
A BIG consideration for anyone booking here is the beds- they look beautiful, they are comfortable, but they are very very low, so could be difficult to get out of. Overall it was a low end 4 star experience.

Overall the experience was good, the pool let the place down as it was green around walls and was a a bit tired looking. There were a lot of mozzies around the outdoor area. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would go back again as it was in a nice quiet area.

The staff at the Amala are incredibly friendly and service was exceptional. We were treated very well during our stay, and little details were looked after without us needing to ask.

The service was very attentive. The gardens are beautifully maintained and we felt as if we were in our own sanctuary. Food was clean and delicious. The Spa provided one of the best massages we have ever had.

Quiet and serene atmosphere - almost no guest noise at all. Highly recommend.

Stayed 1 night in the Spa villa. Bath salts, herbal bath sachet and bath oils were provided which was perfect with the tub. Shower had a steam option. Beds were comfortable and there was surprisingly no mosquitoes in the villa - very impressed considering how much we have been bitten on the trip.

Complimentary breakfast that you have to call in and book your options the night before. Very extensive breakfast selection that will start your morning right. It will be served to the room and you can enjoy it in the comforts of your pajamas.

Complimentary airport shuttle service was provided. We came from another villa in the Seminyak area and they picked us up in the morning. Additional charges apply if you require a pick up outside Seminyak, Legian, or Kuta area. Our airport shuttle when departing was late for half an hour per scheduled timing as it was serving another guest prior. There was a complimentary shuttle to places in the area but we didnt enjoy any of that as they were all occupied at various timings.

The only comment was that the property was a little aged which can be seen on the walls and floors. Also, not sure if it's because we stayed only one night, the service was good but felt like other guests were served more hospitably. The property had many Japanese guests which perhaps was a tour or package arrangement and felt like preferential treatment was given.

Nevertheless, a great stay. But given the steep price (S$350/N in Apr), may not stay again.

I can't recommend this place enough, it was an absolutely amazing experience having the privilege to stay at this beautiful hotel. Every detail was so thoughtful, sustainable, environmentally conscious, peaceful and serene. The welcome massage was lovely, and our discounted honeymoon massage was absolutely incredible. The staff was unbelievably kind and caring, and always available. We woke up excited every morning to have a delicious and healthy array of breakfast dishes every morning (strawberry pancakes are a must!). There was complimentary yoga in the morning and evening was really unique, we learned so much about yoga, bali and medication. The room was a dream (we splurged for the private pool and will never regret it), it was just incredible, from the private pool that always had flowers in it from the tree above, to the relaxing outdoor tub, and the MOST comfortable bed. We will never forget this place and will definitely come back soon!

Disadvantages:
1. If it's rainy season, you'd be in for a shock given the room layout means rain water will make the interior wet. White marble flooring only made it more slippery and hard to detect water gathered.
2. Wooden floors inside rooms also slippery and accident-prone as it was in our case
3. Owner happened to be on site and she could learn a lesson on customer service, not demand guests to tell her where we want to go. She can ask nicely, upon making herself known, not just randomly charge into a family conversation.

Hotel is amazing and the staff are wonderful, nothing too much trouble for them at any time of day. The hotel is set just off the busy highway so not a lot of taxi drivers knew where it was so we had to use our phone sat nav to direct them. Hotel is set back from main beach (25minute walk). We had a lot of problems with mosquitoes so be prepared and take plenty of precautions.

From the moment on arrival to leaving the resort, the Amala presented us with nothing but A* service.
The private room and pool area that were given were incredible, spotlessly clean, with fantastic service on demand.
Yoga every morning was a joy to be a part of due to the experienced staff and the food, exquisite!

This is a quaint boutique hotel. We had the spa villa room, which was nice. The steam shower was an added bonus! The all you can eat breakfast was amazing and the other food we ordered from the restaurant was really good too. All of the staff were amazing, very helpful and welcoming. The staff arranged for us to have a driver for the day, and our driver Harry was fantastic! We ended our stay with amazing massages!

The whole experience from the airport pick up to my drop off was fantastic. A gorgeous private villa surrounded with water in the heart of Seminyak. As a solo traveller I couldn’t rate it highly enough. The staff were so lovely and would go above and beyond to make it such a special stay. Yoga offered daily in a private studio, cooking classes. Gorgeous ambience. The place was amazing. Well done and Thank you!

I was here for a quick weekend in between business trips and so happy I chose the Amala! It was very relaxing, staff was incredibly helpful, breakfast was delicious, and my room...I felt like I was on my honeymoon! I took photos and video to share. Can’t recommend this enough. It made my trip to Bali a trip I’ll never forget.

couldn't use my out door shower, used hand basin in my deluxe room, as lots of WORMS come out of surrounding stones when water on.Harmless but gross.Staff attempted to solve problem BUT didn't.

The Amala and their staff are great. From check in to check out, this is a true top notch property. It is a quiet and has a small foot print, but has many staff to wait on you day and night. Never waited more than a minute when I called them for some assistance. Breakfast and meals were great.

Loved this hotel. Everything from pick up at the airport to the friendliness of the staff was superb. The front desk took charge of calling the airport to find our luggage while we enjoyed our trip.

They have free airport pick up and drop off. The driver patiently waited for us longer than expected since our luggage was lost and we had to make a claim. Transport took about 20-30 minutes in an air conditioned van.
Once we arrived, they greeted us with welcome drinks and a cool cloths.
We checked in and were escorted to our beautiful pool villa. We fell in love as soon as we stepped in to the room.

The Villa comes with its own outdoor pool. You would never think you were in the middle of a busy city.
The shower and tub are outside. The restroom is inside the room.
The room has a big, comfortable bed. The room is air conditioned. The second night, our air conditioner didn’t work properly, but this was promptly fixed the next day.

Breakfast was included. The option was to eat breakfast in the room or at their restaurant. We opted for room service and were not disappointed. Breakfast was good and you had plenty of options. We also liked that you could order as much as you wanted.

Absolute bliss and relaxation.

The Amala is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Seminyak. Our pool villa could not have been any more private or perfect. We came for relaxation and pampering and were not dissappointed. The spa treatment, food and more than anything, the staff were excellent. Thank you and we look forward to returning one day.

We enjoyed our stay at the Amala and would highly recommend this hotel. The staff goes out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and well taken care of. The private pool villas are the way to go, we were in the pool several times a day! Defiantly recommend taking mosquito spray as they are think in the evenings. Great way to experience Bali!

We had a wonderful relaxing stay. Food and spa was outstanding. Unfortunately our room had little to no hot water pressure in the shower. I am sure this could be attended to. A very small, relaxing hotel. Excellent day spa facilities and procedures. Excellent cooking class. We stayed in a deluxe room, but were able to have a look at the pool villa rooms, which looked even more tranquil and relaxing.

Amazing boutique option in Seminyak

From when we were picked up to being dropped off back to the airport the service offered from the staff at The Amala was fantastic. They were attentive and friendly whenever we needed anything, they appeared to enjoy running their hotel very much.

We went for the spa villa, which was a good choice. We actually tried the pool villa for 3 nights at the end (they were kind enough to upgrade us) but we probably preferred the feel at the spa villa.

Amazing but some small let downs

I really enjoyed my stay at the Amala the staff were always kind to me and seemed to take care when providing a service. Nothing I asked seemed too much and the regularly went out of their way to make my stay as enjoyable as possible. However I did notice that one of the towels I received was old (clean but it had a hole in the corner) and that my bedset had a few (very small) rust marks from hanging and drying. The hotel staff took the precaution to fumigate the rooms to deter pesky bugs from attacking which was a lovely bonus.

Quiet location and close to everything.

Booked a Spa Villa but upgraded to a Pool Villa before arrival. Great communication via email to achieve the result. Met at the airport and dropped off by shuttle - seamless transfer. Staff at the Amala were all very friendly and helpful. Fantastic breakfast daily - great variety of food choices. Shuttle service to local area was a bonus. Villa provided a tour car at a reasonable cost for day tours and the Staff driver very helpful.
Overall a fantastic stay - 7 nights.

This was truly a wonderful experience. The staff was incredible!!! Facilities outstanding!!!! I was skeptical when we first turned off the busy street onto the property but it was like a tropical oasis. Very close to the major shopping areas and restaurants but like you are secluded from all the hustle and bustle just outside the property. Would highly recommend it if you are looking for some peace and relaxation and if you want to turn up, it's just a very short drive away. Kudos to The Amala...I'll be back when in Bali!!!!

Wonderful honeymoon experience

My husband and I spent two nights of our honeymoon at The Amala and our experience here exceeded our expectations. The hospitality and service are definitely on par with 5 stars resorts but the price is very reasonable. We stayed at a pool villa and to our delight were given freebies such as welcoming bed arrangement, romantic bath set up, a 30-minute photoshoot within the villa and a small gift since we were on our honeymoon. At one point, my husband requested a candle to be sent to our villa and they fulfilled it with no additional cost.

Food here is delicious! I especially loved their breakfast, and they vary their breakfast menu every day. You can also have them in the comforts of your own villa. The staffs are also very courteous in the sense that before their kitchen closes they will call in your villa to check if you would still like to have breakfast. I really appreciate this gesture as neither of us is a morning person, and if this was just another resort we would have just missed our complimentary breakfast.

The whole resort is very quiet and calming, with beautiful landscaping, but the villa itself is already so cosy that we didn't spend much time outside.

Beautiful hotel with boundless extras that help to justify the cost. Complimentary airport transfers, one hour and fifteen minute massage, great breakfast. The hotel is walkable though a fair distance from the real Seminyak Square area. We stayed in a suite that was close to the street side so it was rather noisy. That would be my only qualm. The communal pool was nice. The room service menu was great. Staff was always helpful. Great spot.

Nice hotel. But problems with mosquitos. Rooms and hotel grounds need better fumigation.
Room was lovely but not much sun coming into the room we were in which was a spa room with outdoor area with plunge pool.
Main pool area small, lacking service and poolside beds really uncomfortable.
Spa treatment was amazing but quite pricey without my honeymoon discount. You only get a daily free treatment with the basic priced room.

Closest thing to a 5 star resort without the price

This resort was nice and relaxing and a great end to our trip. It's was only a couple minutes walk from all the action or a $2-$5 AUD taxi ride to anywhere else. The staff were fantastic organising everything and providing us with local tips and responding to requests. We received a lovely welcoming drink on arrival and the full service breakfast was fantastic with a large range of cuisines to suit all our needs. The spa villa was very spacious, clean and air conditioned. you could easily just stay in the villa and relax all day. We also booked in a couples massage which was great. You could get it cheaper elsewhere but having everything offered at the one place was very convenient.

This is an oasis away from the hustle and bustle of central Seminyak. Staff cannot be faulted and the outdoor shower is the best!

Even to cater for gluten free is a big advantage, we will definitely recommend friends to stay here

Total relaxation

We had a fantastic stay at the Amala. We stayed in a Pool Villa. Staff were exceptional, service great, high standard of facilities, very relaxing environment away from the hustle and bustle, excellent spa treatment. Only thing that let it down slightly was that the included breakfasts were sub-par. Would still highly recommend as everything else made up for it.

Perfect Anniversary

This was the part of our trip that I was looking forward to in view of our anniversary. Everything was fantastic from the check in until the time that we left. We only spent one night but that was enough time to relax, unwind and just have a perfectly serene moment as a couple. The whole area is peaceful and the Spa Villa we got was immaculate. It was clean and we had everything we needed there and then some. There were free drinks (Pocari, carbonated water, green tea) and there were free cookies too!

The only thing that we thought could have been better was the temperature of the Jacuzzi. Unfortunately, I don't think they had the temperature control on. But that's okay. We still had the Sauna and the bath tub for the warm water we needed.

We ate dinner inside the villa and it was delicious. The prawns were tasty, the steak was mouth-watering and the Green Team creme brulee was yummy!

The bed was huge and we had enough space for ourselves. Wifi was spot on. The speed was fast enough to catch an NBA game using NBA league pass.

The staff were nice and friendly and they always served you with a smile.

We ate breakfast in their restaurant and it was so filling. It is a 3-set meal with hotcakes as finale. Their homemade hotcakes were very delicious!

I highly recommend The Amala if you are looking for some quiet time with your loved one but don't want to travel as far as Ubud.

All the service was very good.

The design of the hotel was well considered, full of the taste of Southeast Asia. One problem was there were no doors to the toilet and bathroom. Good for the honeymooners?

Beautiful villa !! Slight improvement needed !

Stay was nice ! Villa is really good !! But the AC was a problem, tried explaining but couldn't get a right solution ! Everything else was really nice and good !

Good value

I stayed in a deluxe room so I can't speak to the quality of their villas. The room was laid out well enough for a solo traveler, though going outside to shower and use the toilet does take some getting used to. My one quibble is that the room is so dark at night, even with all the lights turned on. Service was warm and friendly. It's a bit of a walk from the center of Seminyak but the hotel car can drop you off anywhere within a reasonable distance and taking a taxi back to the hotel is pretty inexpensive.

The staff!

My friends and i stayed at the residence for almost two weeks. It was wonderful.

clean beautiful well-appointed rooms with thoughtful touches.

The staff! The staff! The are thoughtful and clever. I work in the hospitality business and was overwhelmed by their genuine attention and care. Everything from dietary whims to extending our stay with late check-outs. They work very hard to make your stay amazing.

If you are in Seminyak, stay there.

Paradise in Seminyak

Lovely friendly staff who could not do enough for you. My friend had old currency from 10 years ago and the staff went to Denpasar to change it for her as not current anymore. The villa accom very private and comfortable. Close restaurants and shops.
Spa was amazing and good value.
Food also very good.

Pleasant & Great Stay Ever in Bali!

We choose The Amala for our first night Honeymoon Stay in Bali. We are totally amazed by the exclusive environment and good service from the staff and manager. Nothing more to comment about this, we felt so regret that we should book for a longer stay here compared to others 4 stars hotels (with comparable price) in Kuta. Go for this Hotel if you are looking for peace of mind and relax. Both myself and husband agreed that we will certainly come back for The Amala.

We stay at the SPA Villa, the SPA and massage is nice as well!.

What to conclude? Worth to stay in The Amala, although the price is a little bit expensive, u'll know it is worthwhile from the moment you step in!

Seculded paradise in seminyak

The Amala catered for our every need and more. Nothing was too difficult. They went out of their way to ensure our stay was perfect and everything we had hoped for. The villa was very carefully designed and ensured we had a very special and memorable experience. Will definitely be returning.

Very Zen Hotel

Overall, this hotel provides tranquility and peace when staying in there. What I really like is the massage there was provided for both my husband and I. The only set back is the housekeeping. The room wasn't in tip top condition even if the room was cleaned by the housekeeper. You can still see rubbish in the bin, slippers all over the floor.

Great hotel and service!

Amala is a great hotel! The service is great and the staff attends to every little detail. Our stay came with a free 1 hr spa each day, however the masseuse skills differs. Some are really great and some are not so good. However, do bring a lot of mosquito repellents. There are too many mosquitos everywhere. The hotel do provide mosquito coils, lots of insecticides and perform fumigation on a weekly basis, however there are still a lot of mosquito around. We got bitten on an average of 3 to 4 times on a daily basis. Other than this, I think Amala has great location and great service! Thumbs up!

Last leg of honeymoon

Stayed in amala for last 6 nights of honeymoon. After coming from ubud we found seminyak and the amala much busier. The hotel itself is lovely we had a spa villa and found it perfect for what we wanted. Staff were really helpful and not OTT with contact which can sometimes be the case in Bali. Location is a little away from main area which is okay but good deli across the road and nice few restaurants closely. We had a lovely dinner in our villa one night with flower bath which was nice touch.

Fantastic location and spacious villas

Great location in Seminyak (walking distance from a multitude of restaurants and shops) yet sufficiently secluded for peace and relaxation. Only downside is distance from beach, approx 20min walk. Wonderful service including a resort car for complimentary rides to the area when available. Villa with private pool is well appointed and very spacious with a beautiful semi outdoor bathroom. Highly recommended!

Private and quiet luxury Villa in Seminyak

We needed an uncomplicated getaway holiday. The Amala certainly ticked that box with their lovely rooms, private pool, great food and excellent staff.
We were also given an upgrade to a pool Villa for the last 3 days which was very pleasant and much appreciated.
Overall a great holiday experience.

Fantastic Villas & Fabulous Hospitality

We stayed st Amala for 2 weeks and had the most relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

Nothing is too much trouble for the Amala team and it truly is service with a smile.

We particularly enjoyed the cooking class with Gede and are looking forward to trying out the authentic Indonesian recipes back in Sydney.

We only stayed for one night in this villa complex but it was excellent. From the moment we arrived the staff we friendly and helpful. Taking us to our room the staff member explained how to use everything and also what was complimentary (including water & soda water) and what was not. We had a studio room with outside bathroom that was lovely. We had a massage at the complex the next day and the girls were the best and ensured your were comfortable at all times. When it was time to leave they helped us locate our next Villa that friends had booked and actually drove us there. Would definitely recommend this Villa style complex.

The Amala came very highly recommended. I always enjoy a resort that is endorsed by the team at Mr and Mrs Smith. My very high expectations were met on every level.

This is the perfect resort for those looking to escape everything. I had the pleasure of staying in the Spa Villa and the Pool Villa and both were superb with their own unique charms. You cannot go wrong with either.

In particular I would like to mention the attention to detail is superb and the little services such as free hotel transfers and private drivers when necessary around town made a short trip an absolute joy.

The food throughout the resort is first class.

The spa is excellent - for first timers I would highly recommend the traditional Balinese relaxation massage.

All in all, if you are looking for a spa retreat type get-away in the heart of Seminyak you cannot do any better than this.

This is a no children resort.
