I paid $550 per night and the room was not worth it. As someone who travels very often, I will not ever stay at the hotel again. The rooms are beyond small. No where to even open up your suitcase (I leave mine open during my stays). There was a terrible odor in the bathroom, like sewage. The toilet could not flush toilet paper down, there is no place to use any toiletries in the bathroom, and the shower is MAYBE 2” square. I don’t think it would even be possible for an average man to shower in it. The lighting in the room is very poor, so you have to use the bathroom to get ready. The location was good for my trip, so that was a plus. All in all, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and will never stay there again.

Eric was very helpful in checking in and helping with other conforts. Lizanne was nice too, and Monhamed, too.
The room is TINY and crowded with unnecessary furniture. The room needs a mirror too. Other than kind staff and convenient location, the room 54 i stayed in is for one small person only.

Recently stayed at a chic hotel with exceptionally honest staff. I left my ring accidentally after I checked out and they returned it to me. The hotel's aesthetic was classic and stylish, creating a comfortable atmosphere. Conveniently located near transportation hubs, making exploration of the area hassle-free. They also have an elevator but it is so tiny but working. Overall, a delightful experience worth recommending.

Perfect One-Night Stay

We had a lovely one-night stay at the Welcome Hotel. We arrived at about 11:00 a.m and was able to check into our room after a long flight from the US. It was so appreciated. We had a nice view of the Rue de Seine and St. Germain Des Pres. The lobby and breakfast area is very inviting and quite relaxing. Very nicely decorated.

We have been staying at this hotel regularly since we began spending time in France. Over the years it has done a terrific job of making sensible upgrades in both facilities and services. Although prices have also increased, they are in keeping with competitors and the neighborhood. We expect to continue coming back.

My hotel was tiny, looked nothing like the pictures, smelled moldy and had black mold all over the shower wall and hairs everywhere, clearly signifying that it had not been thoroughly cleaned, not to forget to mention that black mold is a serious health hazard. I was so disgusted that I checked out of the hotel at 2 in the morning because I couldn't bare to sleep in that room. I have also been trying to get a refund for a month now and they have stopped responding to me. They initially told me they would have to speak to their manager before giving me any sort of refund, then they said there manager is on break for the entire month of August, and now it is september and I have still not received a response or a refund. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Air con doesn’t kick in till VERY high temperature

Hotel was in a fantastic location. It’s on quite a busy road, but there is excellent double glazing so the road was muted significantly. Unfortunately, they said the air con would not work until the room hit a higher temperature, so it was absolutely sweltering and quite uncomfortable to sleep in. Which did put a dampener on the time away.
Fabulous restaurants near by. Would recommend The Citrouille- good price, great service, excellent food.
Really close to all attractions within the city. Would definitely recommend.

Overall we liked this hotel. The room was quite small but had all the facilities we needed and the bed was comfortable. The air conditioning didn't work, and the shower enclosure was partially open to the rest of the bathroom, which meant the shower water soaked the toilet every time. Even so, overall we felt like it was reasonably good value, and located very well in a nice area of the city, close to good bars and restaurants etc. 👌

Problem with receptionnist

Everything was perfect at this hotel except for a couple of details. The rooms were well cleaned every day, but there were a few surfaces that weren’t dusted off and they kept accumulating dust like the desks or tables. Other than that, everything was clean and the location is amazing. All staff members were very kind and accomodating except for one receptionist named “Court”. This receptionist was very rude and every interaction I’ve had with him was not a good experience. Every time I would ask a question or help he would say “no” or answer in a negative way. I might not be coming back to this hotel just because of the receptionnist’s bad attitude, but everyone else was very lovely.

The location of the Hotel was perfect for exploring all of Paris. There are lots of restaurants less than 5 minutes walikin distance! We also had an awesome concierge Eric helped us find places and how to navigate the Metro in Paris and we managed to not get lost! The only thing that was hard is getting used to how small the rooms are in Paris and that a lot of the Hotels are still being upgraded electrically and otherwise, but the rooms were clean and served there purpose-sleep after walking around beautiful Paris to view all the sights!

I found the location very close to the Louve and other places so the stay was not really bad, the man at the desk was helpful, and the motel room was not as big as I expected. He had internet and if you want food, water or coffee for the morning you will have to go down the street. The room is very basic. The bathroom wasn't quite big enough to be comfortable but it did work fine.

The Hotel was perfectly clean and large enough for me and my friend. The staff were very friendly and willing to help. They gave us a map and personally highlighted all of the landmarks for us. The location is also perfect in the 6th Arr. just around the corner there was a Laundromat, an awesome bar and bistro, and a grocery store. We both really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely go back!

The hotel was clean and the staff was very helpful.The location of the hotel was very good for me.I was able to walk to everything I wanted to see.The train is close also.Plenty of restaurants and markets just outside of hotel.I traveled solo and I felt safe.I read other reviews and heard stories about Paris,however I felt safe.The area is busy so if you are looking for quiet not a good choice.The bathroom is very small but manageable.I would definitely stay at the Welcome again.

Centrally located on the Left Bank among lots of charming shops and restaurants, and within easy walking / biking / Metro distance of all the major attractions of the city. While the staff is friendly and conscientious, and puts in the effort to keep the hotel in good repair and clean, the more permanant furnishings that are not cleaned and replaced daily, like the blankets, decorative cushions, curtains, carpets, etc. have an unpleasant patina of funk and grime that moves this hotel from \"Charming\" down to \"Slightly Icky\". An investment in new decorative cushions and blankets, and a thorough cleaning of the carpets and curtains would transform this little hotel significantly and make it a place worth returning to.

fantastic hotel in a busy (noisy) area

We stayed for 2 nights in August; the first night we had little sleep as there was a very loud bar on Boulevard St Germain (not part of the hotel) that closed around 4.30am, the second night was much quieter and we all slept very well.
The hotel is basic but beautifully looked after, spotless and friendly. The supermarket over the road is handy and there are bars and restaurants everywhere. Location is superb; it took us 5 minutes to walk to the Seine (opposite the Louvre). We would happily stay there again (with ear plugs, just in case!) or ask for a room on the quieter Rue de Seine side.

The hotel is located right in the heart of St. Germain, so location wise is virtually unbeatable! The hotel itself is your typical Paris early 1900 building, which adds charm and character, however, with that said, space is very limited overall. The room could use a bit of renovation, but it is not a deterrent for me to not go back to that hotel. For the price and location, I can compromise with the lack of pristine conditions I would normally want in a hotel. If I go back to Paris, I would certainly look into staying at the Welcome Hotel

We wanted a safe, comfortable and friendly Hotel in a good location to use as a base from which we could explore Paris over 4 days. We did not want or need all the trimmings found in some of the pricier upmarket hotels (room service, spa's etc) as we would only be in our room to sleep, so this Hotel was perfect for that.

We also found it to be handily located to a large selection of great restaurants, shops, galleries, metro, buses, supermarket, laundromat etc. It is also within a comfortable 15 minute walking distance of various attractions such as Notre-Dame, Louvre, Pantheon, Luxembourg Palace, Sainte-Chapelle and more.

First trip to Paris and very welcoming

The room had great views of the street and the location was excellent. We stayed for 3 nights and slept well every night. When there were heavy rains, there was a definite odor coming from a floor drain in the bathroom. It was noticeable when the room was closed up, but not so bad enough for me to regret staying there. Plus the room did have air conditioning and two windows that opened which took care of the problem.

Sweet hotel in the heart of the 6th arr.

This was our first time in Paris and we were overwhelmed with the hotel options. We chose Welcome Hotel for its proximity to some major sights, cafes and bakeries! We read the reviews and we were aware that it would be small but clean. Welcome hotel met all of our expectations for our Parisian experience and all for a reasonable price. The staff was very kind and helpful. Would recommend Welcome Hotel for sure!!

This hotel location is absolutely wonderful. Walking distance to many attractions and a short bus or metro ride to anywhere else. The staff at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. I will just warn that the room is very very small. You barely have space to walk around the bed. The elevator barely can contain 2 people and the bathroom is a sink, toilet and shower within a space that is max 16 square feet... probably less. So if you have any mobility issues this is probably not the right place. If not I would recommend this hotel 100%. There is also a really nice bakery on the street for breakfast and pastries and wonderful restaurants for dinner.

This is a small hotel ideally situated close to most of the major attractions with a great selection of shops and places to eat within minutes.
We only got to stay for two days as we dashed around the city but we had a great time here. The rooms aren’t huge and they don’t have every last luxury but this hotel has character and charm and everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable and we slept perfectly (maybe aided by all the walking around the city which I’d highly recommend rather than the metro where you miss so much).
To top off everything the staff o men the front desk were incredibly helpful, interested in what we had been doing and suggested things the might want to see.
This was my first trip back to Paris in about 20 years, I will not be leaving it so long next time and I already know where I want to stay... the Welcome Hotel.

The location is wonderful but if you want a good night of sleep it may not be the place for you. It's located in the heart of the St.Germain de Près so there are great bakeries and restaurants and shops within a 5 minute walk. At night, the area is very lively so there is a lot of noise. It's winter so we were able to shut the windows but in summer, you wouldn't be able to, so it would be quite loud. I would bring ear plugs. Staff was friendly, room well arranged and clean.

Perfect location

Hotel is in a perfect location and a short walk to the river, The Louvre, Notre Dame and lots of other thing to see. Plenty of bars, restaurants and shopping close by. Hotel is very basic so as long as you aren't wanting to spend any time there you will be fine. Staff were friendly and we able to accommodate looking after our luggage after checking out. St Germain is a beautiful area so would highly recommend.

Great hotel in an excellent location

We had an great night staying at the Welcome Hotel. It was central and the majority of places that you would like to visit in Paris are walkable. Koert was very friendly and considerate especially when he realised that we had traveled the past 24 hours to ensure we had a great stay. The rooms are very comfortable and clean.
Thank you to all at the Welcome Hotel for helping to make our first visit to Paris so wonderful.

Perfect hotel in a perfect location!

Perfect location in a wonderful area of Paris. Close to excellent historical sites, superb food choices, and shopping. Metro and bus options very close but in easy walking distance to Notre Dame, St Chapelle, Louvre, D'Orsay and Latin quarter sites. Front desk staff exceptional! This was a good hotel in the St. Germain des Pres area of Paris. We were able to walk to the Louvre and Notre Dame easily. The rooms were tiny, barely room to walk around the bed, but being on the 4th floor, we had a great view of the other buildings and goings on below. Knowing it was small beforehand helped us be content. Wished the room was a little more updated and towels were in better shape.

Definitely worth the low price

This hotel is well worth the low price they charge. The service was great, The hotel is small but very charming. The rooms are small but the bed is large enough. The location is fantastic as it is right on St Germain. So if you are a lover of the Latin Quarter and the Cafe Brasserie scene then you're in the middle of it. Also only one block (a short block - 400 ft from station to hotel door) from Mabillon Metro station (though for most tourist Odeon or St Germain are probably better to use when you go out and about as they will take you over to other sites and Chatelet station where you can access other Metro Lines and they are less than 10 minute walk,) also if you are traveling reasonably light the RER station is 9 minute walk (I clocked it during crowded time of day) so you could take the B RER from CDG airport and save some money from the expensive taxi or Uber. The windows are double paned and keep out the majority of the street noise but the wall are then, I had a neighbor who had there television blasting and it sounded like it was in my room. Lucky for me they turned it off a little after 11pm because I had an early flight (who goes to Paris to watch TV?)

-I took my daughter to Paris after completing her degree. I had to be price conscious with our accommodations but wanted walkable area near cafes and shopping. This hotel is located on street busy with cafes. Easy to walk out and find options. We were shocked at the number of people out every night until very late. The time of year allowed for late sunset. Also, quick walk to metro made location ideal.
-Our room did face a busy street so it did not allow us to keep the window open but the room air did its job. The benefit from our side of hotel was that we got to enjoy a view of the Eiffel tower at night .( when looking right) With the curtains open the view was lovely as there are green trees and the building across has typical, lovely architecture.
- Eric was our point person at front reception desk. He was very professional and kind. I received correspondence prior to arrival . I arrived sick unfortunately and he kindly offered hot water each night for my throat . ( which I needed) All of the gentlemen at reception were helpful and friendly to us and this made all the difference.
- The bed was comfortable, the curtains did their job for blocking out morning light, our bathroom door did not work well and I don't think they use washcloths in Paris(?) Which reminds me, I need to let them know about door as cleaning crew likely does not close it and I'm sure they are unaware.
- Honestly, the professionalism and view from our window are what we will remember.

This is a wonderful little hotel in the middle of a bustling St. Germain.
The hotel staff is wonderful and really helpful.
The rooms are small and clean.
It is a little noisy if you get a room facing the street - but I had no problems sleeping.
Perfect little place to stay if you want to be able to walk around Paris.

Super duper basic basic

To stay at the Welcome hotel, you should be expecting that you want a place just to sleep and shower. Only! The room is very very basic, oldly furnished. Bathroom is on the edge of being acceptable. I would rather consider this place as a \"motel\" not hotel. The location is really really good. Very central and close to shops and restaurants. Hotel staff are kind. But the place needs major renovation in terms of paint, bathrooms and furniture. My room was at the last floor (6) and when you come out of the elevator the common place (hallway) between rooms feels like an oven from all the sun light during the day. One comment too. Whilst I had my \"do not disturb\" sign on my door all day - explicitly not wanting anyone to step into my room, I came back to find that someone picked the garbage and replaced the towels despite the \"do not disturb\" sign.

Authentic, Old School Hotel in Superb Location

My friend and I shared a twin room for 8 days. We LOVED the hotel and would recommend it for those on a budget seeking a true Parisian experience. Be aware that traditional budget hotels in Paris have tiny elevators, cozy rooms, and retrofitted bathrooms which can be cramped and oddly shaped. Very large people may have some trouble in the bathroom and elevator.
I liked the traditional wood furniture even though drawer and hanging space was limited. Appreciated the hair dryer in the bathroom. Shower had good pressure and plenty of hot water. Soap provided. There were 4 electric outlets in our room. The a/c works. Blackout curtains a nice touch.
Be aware that the corner of Rue de Seine and St. Germain is inherently noisy. Our 4th floor room was fairly quiet once double-glazed windows were closed. Even so, had we not brought our iPod \"brown noise\" app and speakers to cut the street noise while sleeping, all the mopeds and sirens might have disturbed our sleep.

The housekeeping staff did a great job of cleaning room and supplying fresh towels daily. English-speaking reception staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel has tables in front that are perfect for picnicking and people-watching.

I've stayed at this hotel over a period of 30 year

I've stayed at this hotel over a period of 30 years and it has gotten better over that time. Now that it has A/C in the rooms it is the perfect, inexpensive hotel if you want to be in the heart of the action in a great Paris neighbourhood - St. Germain de Pres. Staff all speak English as well as French and some other languages as well.

I would stay again

The room was small but very comfortable. The view is was what I would expect Paris to look like. Lots of stores, restaurants and a cinema in very close proximity. Staff was great and so was the breakfeast.

Good convenient hotel

Good Hotel in Excellent Location
Don't expect furniture and bathroom to look brand new, but everything works perfectly and very functional.

The only problem we had with the hotel is that our windows opened into a busy street, so we couldn't keep them open all night because of the noise, on the other hand it seems air conditioning unit wasn't powerful enough to supply fresh air for the whole night. It wasn't a big deal in April, since it was still cool outside, but could be a problem in summer. We didn't ask for help with this issue, it's possible that acu could have been adjusted to work better.

Perfect location hotel

This hotel is in a perfect location. It's walking distance to main attractions, restaurants & shops. The metro & buses are within a five minute walk. The hotel staff is extremely helpful. My only negative experience is the hotel maid doesn't change pillowcases/sheets unless it's requested.

Hotel is full of character, comfortable and clean with plenty of local bars and cafes. It is in the heart of the bustling left bank within walking distance of the Louvre, Notre Dam and Saint Chapelle.

Too small and too uncomfortable

I am not a picky hotel person. This hotel however has way too many negatives that must be shared so that you are made aware of what you're getting yourself into.
Location-wise, the hotel is situated in a great location- near the train, cafes, restaurants, and the like. Since it is on a main avenue, however, it can be noisy at night. But that's not the bad part.
The bad part is waking up in the middle of the night and breathing in all the car/truck fumes/exhaust coming in through our window because there is no AC in the room and the window needs to be kept open. The bad part is taking a shower and stepping out into a small river on the tiny bathroom floor because there is no shower door or curtain. The bad part is not being able to completely open your luggage because the room is that TINY. I'm glad my husband and I only stayed for two nights.
If you are staying for longer than a night or two, I would not recommend this place.
