We have problems with the shower. The jet is very fine and it hurts like needles piercing. Moreover, one doesn’t feel clean after a shower.
The breakfast is quite pathetic as the selection is limited and most dishes are the same everyday.
Other than these, I am quite happy. The room is spacious and clean. The staffs are welcoming and courteous.

Location location location. The ease of public transport from Royal Inn to the green line is just a few steps away. Once on the green line, transfer to any line in just a few stops. Exit 3 has no escalators, but if you can manage the stairs, the station is 10 steps from the hotel front door. But if you are like me, walk to the end of the block and use exit 4, up and down escalators!

Hotel entrance isn’t huge and signs are hard to spot. The hotel itself is right next to PoYa/Diaso, very convenient. Take the elevator to the 8th floor to check in and for breakfast buffet. The rooms are a bit small and dated, but clean. Towels and room is refreshed daily and the staff are all very friendly.

Lots of dining and shopping options within steps of the hotel. 7/11 is in the alley across the street. There is a lady that sells breakfast rice rolls from a cart in front of the subway station Exit 3 , must try, she’s there from 10-3 daily. Ding Tai Fung is in the mall across the street, line up by 1030-1045 for a ticket and you will get seated on the first seating that opens at 11am.

Overall good hotel at this price point, best location.

Restroom needs improvement

Overall this hotel is good. The only drawback is it’s restroom. Customers have to shower in a high bathtub which is easy to create an accident. Also the design of the restroom doesn’t have enough room for the customers to keep their toiletries in there and they will have problems to reach out to the towels too.

However, other than the above listed inconvenience, the room is clean and spacious. This is what we enjoyed the most.

It was a little bit hard to find the entrance because it’s in a business building and the sign was not obvious. But once you get up to the eighth floor the entrance, the hotel is actually nicely decorated, clean, the staff are friendly and breakfast is good. The hotel should improve on its signage so people can find it easier. Otherwise it’s terrific.

This is a budget hotel. The good parts are: 1) 5 minutes walking distance to MRT station and close to department stores. 2) DAISO is at its ground & 1st floor. 3) Breakfast is okay. 4) Provides free drinking water on each floor.
The problems are: 1) Room conditioner does not have heater. 2) The bath tub is abnormally high. User may hit the ceiling while showering. You also need to lean down to wash your hair.

Hotel not very accommodating to early check in even though we have early check out due to very early morning flight. Staff does not offer options as to transportation to/from airport. Hesitant to call metered taxi for their customers wanting you to use their own taxi service to the airport which has a fixed, overprice fee. We paid $1,250 for a metered taxi to the airport and their taxi is at $1,500. Though in the end, he did offer to call a taxi after much discussion and negotiation.

This hotel was in an excellent location for visiting spots around central Taipei. It was just a few steps away from a redline subway location with easy connections to other subway lines in the area. The street scene is clean and felt safe into the night. There seems to be a lot of nightlife and people on the streets at night so it was a fun place to watch people. The hotel begins on the eighth floor so there isn’t much street noise at all. we signed up for the option with the breakfast included and we really liked that a lot. There were many options and it was fun to have a more traditional Chinese or Japanese breakfast. Not a cinnamon roll in sight but plenty of protein and vegetable options. The rooms were big enough. The bedding was a high-quality cotton. The bathroom had a tub Shower toilet. The hotel would keep our luggage the day that we checked out so that we could come back and pick it up later in the day. Overall, I felt that it was a good value.
Given that the hotel is tucked onto the eighth floor of a building I will say that it can be helpful to know what you’re looking for when you first go there. If the cab driver had not said, there’s the entrance we might have had a little bit of trouble finding it after a 15 hour airline flight. However, once we knew where it was, it was a great place.

Room 803 looks exactly like the photo but the smell was very musty to a point I had to request for changing room. I am not a crazy picky person; this is the first time in my life I had to do so. Their response was not even helpful saying Taipei is humid these days and the other room may smell the same. I told them it is MUSTY and gross. I cannot stay in this room for the next 6 nights. They could only offer me to another room next day but cannot guarantee the smell is better with a poker face. What the heck.

When I started unpacking my stuff, I found the shower cap from the last customer was still in the bathroom. The place is lack of quality check on the tidiness. I hope Royal Hotel brand can do something about it.

When I had to check out next day at 8:45am, they offered me another room immediately. I really wonder if there was a clean room before 9am, why couldn’t they offer it to me the night before but made me stayed in that musty room for the first night? The overall management and customer service is not meeting the standard.

I have been to Taiwan 10 times and stayed in different hotel each time. This is one of my top choice for a good stay. Location is very good. Just less than 5 mins walk from zhongshan station exit 3. If carrying luggage, use exit 4 as there is escalator. Love the open wardrobe space, the long table and the many sockets available for charging devices. Nothing to complain.

This was a wonderful hotel in a great location. The breakfast was awesome and the room was very clean. Also a nice city view. This is probably usual for most hotels in Taipei, but the roof in the bathroom was pretty low so I had to bend down to stand in the shower and i'm 6ft. Not a big deal, since everything else was great!

Stayed in the hotel for 7 nights for easy access to MRT and a short 10 mins walk to Taipei Main station (for day tours to other cities).

The hotel room is very well cleaned daily and the facilities are well maintained.

Like the Japanese minimalist and modern design.

The beds were comfortable but the pillows were too flat for my liking.

Breakfast was provided. Small spread but sufficient to get ur day ready.

With shin kong mitsukoshi right opposite, shopping is very accessible.

Ningxia night market was also 10 mins walk away.

Clean room and excellent service, especially from Alley Lin, the front desk staff who is always smiling and has probably the sweetest smile I have ever seen! She threw her sweet smiles to every guest who passed by the front desk, which is located on 8th floor. The hotel location is superb, just next to Zhongshan MRT station, but it's a long staircase leading down to the MRT station, with no escalator or elevator, which may pose a physical challenge for the elderly. There are plenty of eating options at both Shin Kong Mitsukoshi and Eslite, just across the street. The downside of this hotel is that the room is extremely small. Luckily they have a lounge on the 8th floor where guests can hang around at, with free coffee and tea. They also do not have a gym for fitness freaks like me, who needs to work out even during vacations and business trips. But, at their price, there's really nothing much to complain. They offer such a ridiculously cheap price for a clean and well-maintained accommodation in the center of Taipei! I had expected a lot worse for this kind of pricing and the fact that they label themselves as an inn rather than a hotel. They also provide complimentary buffet in their lounge, as well as free self-service laundry/dryer on the 10th floor. This is a pretty decent hotel to stay at if you are on a business trip or vacations with someone you do not really need to impress a lot.

I don’t mind staying there again if I were to visit Taipei again. Only challenge is that since the hotel lobby is on level 8 of the building, it may not be easy to find when you go for the first time. Must pay attention to the address, marking on the building. Overall, very pleased with the stay!

When the temperature was only 17 to 18 degrees, the Hotel turned on the central heating. The room became so stuffy that we found it simply unbearable. Luckily, the matter was resolved within an hour by us switching to another room which windows could be opened (for fresh air!). The hassle could well be avoided if the Hotel, in the first place, had given us a room with windows that could be opened from inside as I requested prior to checking in.

The staff, especially Bruce Lee, was exceptionally helpful and considerate. When we asked about a dinner recommendation, Bruce actually walked us to a nearby restaurant and translated the menu for us. And the food was fantastic! He also promptly moved us to a nicer room when we were not happy with our first room.
The location also is excellent. Just steps from the MRT station. Lots of shopping just out the front door and the renowned Din Tai Fung restaurant is just across the street. The breakfast was also quite good.

The staff are efficient, can use some friendly smile on their faces, and more accommodations towards simple requests for guest convenience.
They should provide at least one bedside table for water, cell phone, medicine, etc. during the night, the only chair can be more comfortable and less stiff to sit.
Breakfast could use a little more attention as many items are close to empty by 8 am and not replenished until 8:30 or later, if you arrive 30 minutes prior to finish, practically everything is gone. There is only one coffee machine which works slowly, although coffee quality is decent.

Decent hotel if you want to stay in Zhongshan area

Hotel was clean. It is 10-15 minutes walk away from Ningxia Night Market. Very close to Zhongshan metro station as well. The only downside is that it is not near to any convenient stores. You probably have to walk a distance (few blocks away) to a Family Mart. Hotel can be difficult to locate when you first arrive as it is on Level 8 of a building without many signages.

1st day already feedback aircon not cold. Staff said it is building central aircon system, cannot be helped. Slept with fan borrowed from hotel.
Got bitten by bed bug.
Demanded another room and was transferred to 1009 where aircon is working perfectly. Felt cheated on the first night where we were given unwanted, non functional room.

台湾のホテルでは普通かもしれないが暖房が無いため夜は寒かったです。浴室の水はけが悪くバスタブから漏れた水は便器付近に溜まる。勾配設計の見直しが必要かと思います。
ビルの入り口に謎のお爺さんが座っていて怖かった。警備員なのでしょうか？それなら制服を着させて欲しいです。

フロントの方も日本語対応をしてくれて、何も問題がなかったです。朝食の無料提供を知らなかったので、あるだけでありがたかったです。また、7時から朝食となっていたのですが、7時よりも早く準備ができたので、食べさせてくれました。7時出発でしたが、朝食を食べることができました。サービスの良さに感謝します。
部屋は本当に清潔でした。また、すごく防音性が高く静かで隣の部屋の水回りの音も、廊下を人が歩いたり話したりする音も聞こえませんでした。
2025/1/1から使い捨てアメニティ提供が禁止されましたが、使い捨てスリッパのみの提供は継続されていて、よかったです。事前にわからなかったので、準備していってしまいましたが・・・
あとは、とにかく中山駅に近くて本当に便利でした。

施設が古すぎる。ドアの締まりも悪いし、壁が薄く、隣の部屋やからの話し声や、他の部屋のドアの開閉音がうるさくて、何度も夜眼が覚めました。
また、エコという点は理解しているので、部屋に歯ブラシや髭剃りがないのは分かりますが、必要な時はフロントに言えばくれるものですが、このホテルでは、ありませんと言われました。（直ぐ近くのタンゴ南西ホテルはフロントに言えば、くれました）
唯一良いのは朝食ですが、朝食込みの値段では結構高いので、そもそもこのホテルの必要性はないと思います。
台北には年3回は行くのですが、いつもはタンゴ南西にとまりますが、今回の４泊は取れなかったので、このホテルにしましたが、がっかりです。
朝食は良かったです。
