Rooms could be updated. Rooms facing the highway let in a lot of road noise. Staff are good, but clearly they get a lot of business from flight crews and overseas tour groups on layover so they overprice the rooms for everyone else.

- Excellent. Right next to Mcdonalds, and about 5mins drive to restaurants and cafes.

Condition
Very dated.

- Could have invested in an ikea storage space to house the bar fridge.

- Cleanliness and maintenance is an issue. You will notice this at the lift lobby, dirty walls and damaged corners. In the room's ensuite, dirty grout, cracked tiles.

The only good things about this hotel is the customer service, and Netflix included, and the climate control made the room comfortable. The room is clean but everything else is lower than expected such as the bathroom is broken tiles everywhere. The un pleasant smell from the carpet carry through from the hall way to the room. The noise from the tap so loud, the room not well insulated you can hear noise when people talking in the hallway or room next door, and the busy road noise.

This was a great find with parking because it was only a five-minute drive to crowded Bankstown with all its restaurants and markets. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and it was a good-sized room. Whoever invented the taps in the bathroom probably didn't get a design award. There was a problem with breakfast that could be easily fixed. We arrived for breakfast at around 8:00 am; the coffee dispenser was empty, as were the eggs and bacon trays, and there were several tables with dirty plates and cups that hadn't been cleared, so we cleared a table ourselves. I asked the male staff member about the coffee, but it took ages. I had finished my meal before it eventually arrived, and some of the guests were upset. I also alerted reception about the eggs and bacon, which eventually also arrived. The staff member responsible for breakfast should be constantly monitoring these things.

Great hotel for what we needed

Was a quick overnight stay for an event nearby, But it had everything we needed And was a really comfy room. We even got an upgrade to a slightly bigger bed set up, which was really nice. The ample free parking was also a big plus!

Expected a better hotel from Rydges. Hotel itself is very old and certainly needs upgrading. Main issue was noise from Hume highway, on which hotel is situated.
Plenty of parking spaces without extra cost.
Beds are comfy but toilets were exhausted looking with mould build-up.
I guess if you look at the price, that gives you the indication.

Stay at Rydges Bankstown for 2 nights for work. The room was a good size, comfortable bed. Was a little noisy from the McDonalds drive thru next door. The toilet didn’t flush. I had to manually get the cistern to refill each time. When I notified reception when departing, they were annoyed I didn’t let them know sooner. I was working 14 hours days so my priority was sleep. I chose this hotel because of location and breakfast. Unfortunately breakfast did not commence service until 6.30am. I had to leave for work at this time. When I expressed my disappointment to the staff, they did not seem to care. Other hotels I’ve stayed at have a 6am breakfast start. Overall the hotel needs updating. It’s looking feeling tired and worn. The price was good.

My house was getting renovated and i couldnt be in there for 2 days. Had stay here for 2 days and it was the most relaxing place. Quiet and relaxing. No problems at all. Stayed in the king room with the spa. I wished i had used the spa but i was that relaxed i just slept most of the time. Thank you Rydges 10 out of 10.

Unfortunately this was a horrible stay. The king spa suite wasn't as described. The spa only occasionally turned on, there was no air-conditioning in the room, the facilities were old and run down (photos online are verrrrry old). There was only one staff on front desk the entire time.

Our room key stopped working and it too over half an hour to have someone come to the desk to issue a new one.

The pool had the automatic cleaner in it the entire time with cords everywhere, very unsafe for the kids.

Really wouldn't recommend.

I have stayed at numerous Rydges Hotels and without doubt the Bankstown Rydges failed to meet the standard I have seen at other Rydges.
The establishment is in dire need of refurbishment. Cleaning is sub standard. I entered my room to a sweet smell which I thought was linked to cleaning products. I then found a vape on the floor behind the bedside table. So much for “No Smoking” and room cleaning. You only have to look under the bed. Disgusting. Rydges should be ashamed to accept this standard. The only up side of my stay was the friendly, very helpful and professional staff, obviously let down by the overall standard of the establishment. Would not recommend this Rydges.

To be honest, I was far from impressed, the room was filthy, the dust was so thick, broken window latches and some missing, mould in bathroom in/out of shower and round tap fittings, towels were dirty. I took photos due to how disgusted I was. Room was partly refreshed when we went out, tea and coffee was not replenished nor were the cups cleaned (this has always been done in previous stays at other apartments) 2/4 towels were replaced. TV apps eg. Netflix was in Korean and staff were unable to fix this during our stay, they did give us a complimentary bottle of wine which was a nice gesture due to them being unable to fix. The whole place is run down and needs a good makeover and some serious maintenance. Definitely not the 4 star it promotes itself to be and the cost was far more than what I should’ve paid. Had I known about the 30 mins window to let someone know about the state of our room I would’ve been down there quick smart to have these rectified. I will not be back, I really do hope Rydges take some action I have seen previous reviews similar to mine with comments that action will be taken it seems these comments have gone unheard and unactioned. Don’t waste your $$ not worth it.

Cold water tap did not work in shower, no extra blankets or pillows. No enough tea, coffee, milk or sugar, no complimentary biscuits. Foot stool looked unclean. No little table in corner or extra chair so 2 people could sit at table and eat a meal together. No screens on window so you couldn’t open in early afternoon when it it was warm. The room itself was far too small for twin share and only having one chair was poor.

Overall it was reasonably priced for what you get!

-Could definitely do with new plumbing/fittings as the taps screech everytime you use them that is after you turn the tap 3 times before you start getting water haha

- Bedding/beds were nice and tidy and clean and quite comfortable, blackout blinds were great considering I slept during the day being on night shift work!

- Lighting (or lack of) was disappointing, there is one downlight at the entry and a light in bathroom, the rest of the room has no lights so you have to use the multiple lamps around the room in order to see which still isn’t much light but it’s manageable

- Foyer and lifts are nice and everything is key card access which is very convenient, plenty of parking!

- Conveniently located directly next to a maccas which is great for those late night Icecream runs

Checked Out Early - Very Disappointing

The room was dirty complete with mould on the bathroom ceiling and stains on the towels and bedding. The entire hotel was rundown - not the usual standard I’d expect from a Rydges. The bed was really soft with no back support - I personally experience back pain when I sleep on soft mattress. I contacted the front desk twice to see what options were available - they were unable to provide any alternatives (would have been happy to pay to upgrade our room) - we left after the first night of our 3 night stay. The water pressure in the shower was great - everything else was disappointing.

Sheets smelt clean but had black mouldy marks on them, pillows were old and it just smelt dirty and old. Needs a good clean.
