A hotel which provides what is needed

Take note, check out is 11am, not the nirmal 12 noon. Beds a but hard. Location a little outside the town centre. Clean and easy hotel to deal with. Staf not overly friendly, however nit rude.

Excellent as a stopover

One night stopover on our way to Northern Holland. Very clean and comfortable hotel. Staff are very helpful.
The restaurant menu offers less choice than i remember from a previous visit, but food quality is excellent. Ample free parking immediately outside the hotel.

This is a great hotel ideally located for a longer visit and walk into the city. Our bed was one of the most comfortable we've ever had in a hotel. Although a long drive from Lincoln may have helped our sleep. The shower was excellent in terms of heat and power but the dated above bath holder and curtain let it down. It was too high and was best hand held or angered on the stability bar. That was a pity as otherise this was a nice hotel with great free parking.

Stayed for 4 nights, arrived Thursday afternoon, been up since 4am so wanted a quick power-nap, got into bed to be greated by heavy hammer drilling, this went on for quite a while so contacted the reception just to see how long it would be going on, we were told there was no drilling in the hotel and it must of been outside, clearly this wasn't true as it was coming from the next room.... apart from this the hotel was great especially the breakfasts....

Very disappointing stay

Very disappointing stay.
Although advertised as a 4 star hotel, there were several issues with our stay. The hairdryers did not work (to which I was only offered a part broken tiny travel hairdryer), the only iron available was broken too and leaked water all over my clothes. The rooms are very dated with leaks from the showers, uncomfortable pillows, very dim and dark lighting and leftover sweets from prior guests were left in one of the rooms which makes me doubt that they were thoroughly cleaned (this seems to be common as mentioned in other reviews too). The housekeeping ladies were quite rude to my colleagues and the older lady receptionist was extremely rude, calling my colleagues room saying that they would be charged a fee if they were 1 minute past the check out time (very strange given that they had not reached the check out time yet). When I asked the receptionist for some advice about getting trains in Belgium, she just said that she doesn’t take public transport instead of trying to help in any way, you expect a little more from a customer service perspective from a 4 star hotel! Only plus was the good breakfast.

Disappointed with Hotels.com and Hotel Serwir

The hotels.com website caused me to book the wrong night. I pressed cancel but it didn't work. Now hotels.com are refusing to refund me. The hotel's systems were down, forcing us to wait in the foyer. They tried to charge us for having a cup of tea while we waited. The receptionist kept blaming their IT people, clearly unaware how customer service works (hint: when you're the face of the hotel you own the problem). When we finally got a room we found a 70's style brown room that was so dark we could barely see. There were no power sockets near the bed. The bedside lamps were too dim to read by. The bed and pilllows were far too soft so we felt we were being swallowed. Not an enjoyable stay at all.

Stayed a total of 4 nights in September via 3 separate reservations. The hotel is priced excellent for the value. My only suggestion would be to have employees speak quietly behind the new building on the services platform. The noise is very disturbing and one night an employee was speaking so loudly on their cell phone I had to call reception to report. All in all the experience was great and I would return. Great food in the restaurant and the staff needs to smile a bit more.

Although I was a business user, I found it very noisy in the public rooms. The room was average but clean, the bathroom better. I consider the breakfast buffet average for the price charged. The staff were good.

Useful stop over to and from Holland to Calais.

Chose this hotel as the only one with rooms available and ended up with a superior room. Quite expensive Very comfortable bed, but the whole room and bathroom was brown furnishings and so dark it was difficult to read the paper. One small light in the bathroom so hopeless for putting on your lipstick!
Breakfast was adequate. Parking was good, lots of room.
15 minutes walk into the centre of town. Enormous square but not much else. Would recommend the restaurant Brasseurs. Nice chap who served us a delicious meal and the best apple tart my husband has ever eaten, he says.

Fine for business stay

Good for business stay. Good food, although quite hearty. At first internet did not work for me but the staff helped to sort it out. The elevator felt creepy so I used stairs. There was no way to open windows in my room so I had to use air conditioning (which was loud) as the weather was hot during the stay.

Four star and close to shopping centre.

Hotel and facilities very good but the lifts broke down twice in the week we were there although they were fixed very quiskly and did not inconvenience us . Our only criticism would be the height of the beds, the beds were very comfortable but were very low to the floor and presented some difficulty getting up because of my age.

Don't go if you can avoid it.

This hotel should feature in a museum display. It smelt old and musty, the bathroom reeked with the smell of old water/drains? The staff gave the impression that we were intruders not paying guests, we never saw a smile during our stay. There were not any tea/coffee making facilities in the room. We could not understand a 4 star rating, there are many 3 star hotels in the Netherlands that are far better. As for breakfast don't bother the worst we have had any where. Put this one down to experience.

A very good hotel which we have used on several occasions. It is well-located for East-West travel around Antwerp and close to the motorway. Reasonable price, reliable food and friendly service. On this occasion the room was rather dark - but I think that was affected by the refurbishment programme which is nearing completion.

Good value hotel

We have used this hotel on numerous occasions whilst travelling from Germany to UK and return. It consistently provides high standard accommodation, very good meals and helpful staff at a reasonable price. It is close to the motorway (whilst far away enough not to hear it), making it a convenient stopping-place.

A great place to stop

We have stayed at this hotel once before and the good memories from that occasion, were the deciding factor in repeating the experience. We were not disappointed. Firstly, as we are an eight hour drive from Calais, it is perfectly situated as a \"half-way\" stop. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff are friendly and helpful. Dinner was extremely good, as was breakfast the following morning (included in price). We didn't leave the hotel, but I suspect that there's not much to do in the immediate area. The lifts are TINY! Do not go with huge cases! Also, no coffee/tea making facilities in room - which would have been nice. However, I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone and I'm sure we will be using it again.

An average hotel. Walls were quite thin. Plenty of free parking. Reasonable rate. Too far from Antwerp to visit downtown easily. Breakfast was charged to us even though we didn't eat it- the couple in the room next to us tried to charge it to us. Employee was able to get the charge reversed.

Ich würde dieses Hotel nicht erneut buchen. Es ist etwas modernisiert worden, trotzdem war die Einrichtung in die Jahre gekommen. Gegenüber ist ein Einkaufszentrum, was sehr praktisch war. Preis/Leistung hat mich jedoch nicht überzeugt. Das Hotel ist leider keine 4 Sterne. Der Safe im Zimmer funktionierte nicht. Es gab keine vernünftigen Abdunklungsgardinen. Die Sonne schien dir um 7/8 Uhr morgens ins Gesicht. Kein Wasserkocher, keine kleine Kaffeemaschine, keine Gläser, kein Bügeleisen. In anderen 4 Sterne Hotels kriegt man mehr für sein Geld.
