The room was comfortable. They even had a choice of pillows. The breakfast (Japanese and Western choices) was EXCELLENT, featuring regional specialties in a tatami dining room with a city view. The location was convenient, near the train station, with many nearby dining and shoppping options. We would definitely stay there again when in Nagano.

There is storage for luggage after you check out so you can explore before your next transit, but it is first-come first-serve where you lock your bag up in their lobby.

We took a junior suite as that was the only room with two beds available. It was big, had two double beds, and a sofa, plus a massage chair - much welcomed after a day's walking. Decor was dated but well maintained and functional. Only oddity was that there was no safety box in the room. Room was clean, staff - both front deskers and housekeeping were efficient and friendly. Ah yes, we could have additional pillows, and the choice between simmons and tempur. it was nice to sleep with four pillows for each of us. Don't know about breakfast as we didn't book that.

Very roomy twin bedroom. Tricky to navigate from Nagano Station but it became easier after walking there and back a few times.

Staff was friendly and welcoming, which is pretty standard for hotels in Japan. 5/5.

Hotel room was clean and spacious (especially compared to the hotel we stayed at in Tokyo), and also QUIET. Didn't hear a peep from our neighbors. 5/5.
- We didn't ask for it when I booked, but we were put into a room on the 11th floor (top two or three floors were \"grand\" floors). 12th floor is the restaurant. I guess I lucked out in my booking. Laundry was coin-op on the 2nd floor. 400 Yen to wash, 100 Yen to dry for 20 minutes (I think? Maybe it was 100 Yen to dry for 50 minutes...I honestly can't recall, but it wasn't expensive).

Hotel was only about a 5-10 minute walk (depending on how fast you walk) to Nagano Station, so its proximity to public transit was super convenient. There's also a Lawson on the way to/from Nagano station, so bonus points there.

Breakfast was good, we only took advantage of it once. You need to buy a ticket and pay for it at the front desk by 7pm or 9pm the day before, so you'll need to somewhat plan ahead. Offered both Western and Japanese breakfasts.

All around great value for the location and amenities offered. We would definitely stay at Chisun Grand Nagano again.

This hotel offers the best value for money of all the places I stayed during my trip to Japan. I had originally planned to stay for only three nights but ended up canceling my bookings in Niigata and extending my stay by two more nights because it was so comfortable.

Nagano’s water quality is exceptional — the shower water is incredibly soft, and I could immediately notice the difference compared to Tokyo. The hotel’s breakfast quickly became the highlight of my day. I really needed more vegetables and fruits during my trip, but since Nagano’s restaurants tend to serve mostly carbohydrate-heavy dishes, this breakfast was a lifesaver.

The staff here are also outstanding — they go out of their way to accommodate travelers. Guests can even rent bicycles from the hotel to explore the city. Its location is within walking distance of the train station, and for those heading to Hakuba or Togakushi, there are always shuttle buses available from the station.

Breakfast had a large selections of food which was very good, The hotel is close to the train station, but the rooms are not noisy from the trains. Easy town to walk around from the hotel.

Short walk from the station.
This hotel backs onto the train tracks and is next to a road so there was some traffic noise from this but didn't keep me awake or disturb me.

An excellent property that is conveniently located to public transport. The Nagano station is only a 5-minute walk away. There are numerous places to eat all within a comfortable 15-minute stroll. The breakfast was excellent, and the staff were amazing! Rooms are large and very well appointed. Excellent value.

The breakfast was the best we have had in three weeks touring Japan lots of local specialities (soba, tempura grape leaves, interesting egg and tofu dishes etc) freshly prepared and of very good quality served in a top floor dining room looking out over the surrounding hills.

Close to centre of Nagano city and our favourite Ramen shop (Yoshiya) that we visit every time we visit Nagano. Luggage storage available for continued exploring after checkout. Close to local trains and about 5-10minute walk to JR station. For the price and convenience would stay here again.

Great hotel about a 6 minute walk from Nagano train station. You can hear the trains from the rooms on the side of the hotel facing the tracks, but it is very muffled. Tiny rooms like all Japanese hotels in the affordable range. But very functional, great staff with decent (for Japan) English. My room had a killer massage chair, love the place just for that. Extremely clean, good neighborhood and a great value for the price range.

Chisun Grand Nagano was a great place to stay for our one night in Nagano.

The rooms were relatively spacious for Japan hotels and very clean and comfortable.

The room even has a massage chair!!!

The staff was very helpful with checking in, storing luggage, and shipping luggage to our next stop.

The only complaint I’d have about the hotel is the train station is pretty loud and can be heard in the hotel room - but sometimes a lil ambient noise is nice!
