Front desk were very friendly on arrival, Room was nice with toilet separate from shower which helped with a family of 4.

There was a lovely personalised message on our mirror on arrival.

Pool was nice as was breakfast. Kids loved the closeness to shopping centre.

Car park was tall enough for camper and secured at night.

Lovely hotel.

Fantastic stopover before getting the ferry home (just an hour from Dunkirk)
Four to a room was a little cosy but the pull out double sofa bed (actually two single beds) was brilliant for the children.
Lovely breakfast, super clean rooms, just over the road from a huge mall where we ate dinner.
Didn’t use the pool but looked inviting.
Very helpful staff.
Nice touches like free water refills (still and sparkling) TV that you can cast from phone (we watched a movie from our Disney plus subscription)

We selected this hotel for a one night stopover as it was very close to the motorway, had free parking and a reasonably priced breakfast.

The room was very clean and had everything we needed. A very comfortable bed, decent shower and a kettle plus adequate supply of tea and coffee.
Breakfast was exceptional. All high quality products. Freshly squeezed orange juice, a good selection of bread and pastries, cereal, fresh fruit, bacon, sausages, eggs, etc.
The staff were very friendly and professional.

We would definitely stay there again.

Fantastic service, beautiful facilities, but we had a family room for the four of us but were only given two towels. We asked for further towels, but only very small towels were available. Really great hotel overall.

Exactly what we needed for our visit to Lille. Convenient location near the road to Paris but not noisy. Outdoor pool, mini football pitch, ping pong and boules for the kids. Indoor play cupboard and mini football table. Close to a big shopping centre with a large supermarket, shops, a petrol station and restaurants. Would happily stay longer and return again!

Fantastic stop off after a 9 hour drive. Easy check in, polite , loads of secure parking, the pool offered a perfect opportunity to relax and unwind whilst my wife went to the huge shopping centre across the road.The hotel was nice and quiet even though it was a stones throw from the main road, you wouldn't know it was there. Dinner was lovely, not a huge choice, but sufficient with good size portions. The same goes for Breakfast. all you could want was there. fantastic start to the day. The room was large, bright and comfortable. All the staff were polite and happy to speak english, with a smile. I can heartily recommend this, the price point offered great value too.

Quick stopover on the way to Paris.

Pros: Staff friendly. English spoken. I think we were upgraded to a courtyard view. Nice looking bar area but didn’t use it.

Cons: Not a very well maintained room. Filthy grout in bathroom. Shower floor discoloured and quite grubby. Gave me the heebiejeebies and like I would feel cleaner NOT showering! Lights around the bed didn’t work. VERY soft bed.

i would say, if the price was better I wouldn’t have minded but we paid 4* pricing so I just expected more.

The rooms were nice & well equipped. However they had not been thoroughly cleaned (there was an empty whisky bottle in the cupboard) & the shower was cold.
We wanted to get a drink from the bar on the evening we arrived. After being ignored for 10 minutes & others being served before us we decided to go for a walk & get a drink elsewhere.

Very good access to shopping of all types in the centre across the road. Many eateries to choose from if the hotel isn't for you... we tried Beers&co and had a lovely meal.
Hotel is clean and tidy with very quiet rooms.

Booked a superior room. Was given a basic room to which they had added a coffee machine and bathrobes as per the superior room. The coffee machine didn't work and they Refused to accept it was a basic room. There was no rainfall shower. It was basic room decor (as per their website) and the bedding which was supposed to be luxury bedding was a hard duvet and solid foam pillows. The rudest receptionist ever. Never again!!!!!!

There was only one thing that was definitely wrong. We booked for six adults and two children on a half board basis. This was confirmed in our paperwork. The hotel insisted the two children’s food should be paid for. They were quite nasty about it which was upsetting. I did not pay for the food!!!

Too noisy to stay

There were children above my room running and jumping till 1am.
I had to get the receptionist to try and stop the noise.
There was a wedding party playing on a football game till 2 am.
Shrieking and shouting.
Finally got to sleep then woken up at 6 am Sunday with the children jumping on the floor and shouting.
Torture.
Also made me ill for the rest of my trip.

Very hard to find. Weird location. Industrial area. Told our room might not be ready even though we were there at 5, two hours after the accepted arrival time. Receptionist went to check and said they were just hoovering but we could go in another room. Ok but overlooked the car park. Average experience. Atmosphere inside the hotel was nice and calm though. Not great for local restaurants. We went to the Creperie at Douai and although the food and staff were great there were lots of slightly intimidating groups of young lads hanging around in the evening.

Food was very good (we had dinner and breakfast, and the breakfast buffet was superb). It has lots of areas for kids (and adults) to play: garden with goals, fenced swimming pool, indoors football table, a small play area with toys for the little ones. It is next to a shopping centre with a huge Auchan. The immediate surrounding areas are not great but once you’re inside the parking of the hotel, you feel transported. Also it was super handy to stop one night en route from Amsterdam to Normandy. Enjoy!!

Grotty with unfriendly staff

We booked two executive rooms for three nights. When we arrived the receptionist hardly spoke to us other than to hand us our keys and say rooms were on the first floor (despite at least one member of the party being able to speak fluent French). We have four heavy suitcases and when we asked where the lift was, she just said “no lift”. She didn’t offer any assistance. One member of the party has mobility issues so this was a problem. The hotel was grotty and in need of a makeover. The bed was really uncomfortable as it had some sort of extra mattress on top of it which kept slipping. None of us had a good night’s sleep. Executive rooms are supposed to come with a free mini bar. This was only restocked in one of the rooms during our stay. All in all it was very disappointing for a Novotel.

This is a super honest hotel which is ideal as a stop on your way.
The hotel is close to the motorway yet quiet and it has proper secure parking.
The hotel is right next to a hypermarket, so shopping and refuelling is right outside the hotel.
The hotel has standard rooms which feature really comfy beds and you will get a good night's sleep here.
Finally the breakfast is actually superb as well.
We have stayed here several times on our travels and never been disappointed.

Great hotel, the only negative thing was the price of drinks at the bar, €7.50 for a 3/4 pint of Heineken was a bit much, we had two lagers and two soft drinks and that was €24, but otherwise it's a very nice hotel, child friendly and felt safe

Good clean hotel. Friendly welcome and fast check-in. The room was spacious and well laid out, with a good-sized modern bathroom. The free WiFi was good enough for what I needed, and the breakfast was pleasant and freshly stocked.
The hotel is on the site of an out-of-town retail park, with a large Auchan supermarket open until 9:00pm, so convenient if you need anything. There is also a self-service (only) petrol station next door to the hotel.

A Little Gem in Hot Weather

Stayed for one night on a cycling trip. Arrived at 15:00 and it was 37 degrees outside so the outdoor pool was extremely welcoming. Bar had a good selection of drinks and the staff friendly and helpful.

Only real downside is that the family room ends up having two double sized beds which isn't ideal with parents and two children of opposite gender.
Apart from that, the room was clean and bathroom very nice indeed.
Pool area very smart if a tad cold but pleasant end to a long days driving.
Reatail park nearby with plenty of eating establishments if you didn't fancy what was on the menu in the hotel.

great stop on way to euro tunnel

It was a shame to only stay 1 short night on our way to the euro tunnel, they had thought of everything you might need, even bedtime reading books for children in the foyer. we didn't eat in the hotel but got a great recommendation to a local restaurant, a bit more fun for the children, it was a chain as the area is mostly out of town large retail/shopping area but it was large portions and great food. (Beers and Co). Breakfast was excellent, fresh and free for children to eat (16 and under), lovely eggs and bacon, fresh bread and all the French pastry's you could wish for!

A lovely, honest and extremely family friendly hotel.
The hotel has been renovated very very well and is very well presented today.
The rooms are lovely and easily fit 2 adults and 2 kids.
The breakfast buffet is super.
The parking outside the hotel is plentiful, appears to be quite secure and it is of course free.
The hotel is close to the motorway but it is still very quiet and you certainly can't hear the motorway.
Finally the hotel is next to a major shopping area which features many restaurants, cheap fuel and of course a hypermarkey. All very handy

Handy for battlefield tours

We used this hotel as a base for a short battlefield tour, taking in Mametz Wood, Ors, Loos and Ypres. It is really well connected to the motorway network and has excellent facilities. After long days driving there was no need to go out searching for restaurants and bars when we returned.

We arrived at 9pm on Saturday night, and all the neighbourhood shops/restaurants appeared to be closed. We were hoping to have a supermarket nearby to buy food for the Sunday journey home. Overall, the hotel was decent enough but not as nice as other Novotels in Europe. Staff were friendly and responsive, which was a plus.

Perfect stop over.

The hotel was a little hard to find as not visible from main road. We arrived very late and were made to feel very welcome. The modern room was very comfortable and had a great shower, our beds were comfortable and the children each had their own bed which meant no waking one another up! We didn't have breakfast as we had supplies with us, also I think the rate was quite expensive in comparison with the room rate. We would definitely use a Novotel again 👍
